sunny days make me want to stay in a tropical oasis
The Aladdin Wall!
Featuring: my college graduation cap I made, BOK character design prints by Gregg Barnes, OBC signed playbill, OBC cast and crew insert from the original souvenir book, and (possibly my favorite of the bunch) the opening night illustration by the amazing Squigs Robertson.
The four art prints were all bought from the Broadway Flea Market, but two separate years (BOK prints bought in 2021, Squigs print in 2022).
Iago from Broadway's Aladdin. Love this evil little dude.

Hey guys, let's blow this alley!
Illustration for Zach, Milo and Brad before they left the roles of Babkak, Kassim, and Omar this past Sunday. Miss em already!
this ones for all the kassim enjoyers out there. love this dude, don't draw him nearly enough
Illustration I did for the closing of Aladdin Mexico. Loved seeing all the images posted throughout its run!
(I'm really happy with my art as of late. I feel like I've finally achieved the style I always wanted and that feels really satisfying!)
Tell me any BOAK related hcs that you have on the mind. Like any at all. I’ve been trying to think of a hc but I’ve honestly forgotten half of my hcs for this show djdndndndndnd
woo ok so here are a few just off the top of the dome:
Kassim made all the necklaces for the group. Based on the fact that Brandon O'Neill made all of them for the original show.
Babkak and Omar are really close. Babkak's a good companion for when Omar gets overly anxious or overwhelmed. He's super laid back so he balances out Omar's anxiety.
Omar is in charge of cutting everyone's hair when they get too shaggy.
Kassim calls Babkak "Babs" when he's really drunk, which Babkak finds amusing.
Babkak gives really good hugs (soft).
They're all queer. I see Babkak as aroace, Omar as gay, Kassim as bi, and Al as bi with mostly a preference for women. (sometimes it can fluctuate based on the actors in Aladdin's case). I see Agrabah as a (mostly) accepting fantasy world, so you can be out and not have to worry, save for maybe the guards.
Kassim actually really likes stealing. He likes the thrill. He's also the one who comes up with most of their schemes.
Babkak is in charge of mending their clothes and patching them up if the others get hurt.
Aladdin is surprisingly solitary. He loves his friends, but he spends a lot of time alone. His favorite spots to just chill by himself are on top of buildings.
Omar's estranged father is a member of the guards. He avoids the guards at ALL COSTS because of this.
Babkak spends half of the time zoning out/thinking about other things and just chilling, which is why he is always snapping out of it and yelling food names out. Relaxed king.
Kassim is the leader of their quartet, but others tease him saying "no Aladdin's the leader" just to make him angry.
Babkak and Kassim founded their group, adding Aladdin later and Omar last. They all met when they were kids.
Even though Kassim and Babkak make little pointed remarks at each other in the show, it's not because they dislike each other. It's actually because they're really close friends and that's how they communicate. I feel like they have a lot of inside jokes.
I have loads more, these are just the ones I could type up now! I can type up more if you wanted more specific stuff :))
Another commissioned piece I did for Michael Schimmele! This one is from January of this year
A look inside my Aladdin Broadway display case. I've got a lot of memorabilia I've collected over the years. Some of my favorites include:
the original souvenir program (2nd photo)
a copy of the script (3rd photo)
bread prop (3rd photo)
the heart-shaped box of baklava prop (4th photo)
More info is in the image descriptions. Feel free to ask me questions about items in my collection if you'd like to know more about them!
