Missing my queen,, oh her radiance, her grace,,, Agatha of Gavaldon how i miss you
For me personally, i just lost energy to participate, but i didnt expect everyone to disappear as well ššš
Some things comes to mind why it became inactive:
- book 6 and the movie. I genuinely thought that sge ended in book 3, surprise surprise theres more books. The release of book 6 felt like an end to an era. The conclusion to everything in sge. Fans can now rest easy now that the story is officially finished.
Then the movie came out, more content for us to rave over! A sense of nostalgia and excitement for the adaptation. Our favourite characters came to life!! Wow!!
The official ending of the series and a live action adaptation of it basically fulfilled what the fans could ever want. Its done, what else could we want?
- rise and fall of sge (i spoke too soon). Ill admit that i havent read it nor plan to read it, but for me personally it felt like milking the series till its dry. And with soman's track record with tcy, surely u can guess why others(me) wont read rfsge. I'm content with how sge ended and perfectly fine not knowing what happened in the prequel (this also applies to other sge related stuff that soman plans to release, like bro, enough, start a new one or smth let sge go/JJJ)
- the saddest but most realistic reason,, the fans grew up. Most of us read sge when we were younger, probably middle school or high school. Years has passed, we're mostly in college or graduated. We're either too busy to participate in the fandom, or simply moved on.
School for Good and Evil has been with me growing up and is very dear to me. But now that I'm older, there are more stories for me to enjoy. It's a chapter in my life that I'm ready to close but will look back fondly on.
I still had fun while it lasted, and i do miss it sometimes. I hope everyone also had fun or continue to enjoy the series! Yippee!!!
This month was the month....I joined a dead fandom...šš
Where is the school for good and evil (BOOK) fandom??
Bunch of sketches cuz ive been drawing angst a lot and these kids should be having fun instead
No Magic?/Collegium? AU idk its mostly for the casual vibes of it all
Call would def be the listener to the yapping of Aaron and Tamara.
Also long haired Call, the authors basically wrote him as an edgy skater boy, might as well give him the guitar n long hair
---
ATLA! AU
Tamara is a fire nation noble, Aaron came from the water tribes, and Call is an air nomad who survived the genocide (cold massacre oof) and now lives in the countryside of earth kingdom.
Who's the Avatar? Both Call and Aaron. Call was supposed to be the next air nomad avatar after fire nation avatar verity torres. But he died which made the cycle continue to Aaron, but Call didn't really die so now both of them became the avatar.
They would probably have 2 elements each, Call with Air and Fire, while Aaron would have Earth and Water. Wow, even in atla!au theyr each others counterweight, soulmates fr.
Concept paintings that I did for a deleted scene in Across the Spiderverse. In this deleted scene, Miles follows Gwen to a Brooklyn construction site where he meets Miguel for the first time. I believe this scene was released yesterday as a special feature called "Miguel Calling."
ācan you draw me thisā ādraw thatā uno reverse, why donāt YOU draw ME something, what about that huh
do you ever wonder about the function of academic subjects in SGE? like: how does studying literature work if their stories are limited to actual, real-life fairy tales? do people even write fiction (also applies to gavaldon. are their only stories the ones in the fairytales. that's so sad)? is studying literature equivalent to studying history?
and yes, in the school for good and evil, it must be important to learn the practical skills: how to use magic and conduct yourself and stay alive. but what about critical thinking?
ANYWAY. this is my segway into the AU where august sader starts teaching media literacy, gets the students to question the stories, the system & the school master [basically what sophie & agatha do in the first book. good and evil as friends; as equals. but done by an Actual Adult], and overturns the underlying beliefs that govern the world of SGE.
also: inclusive education. i have a lot of thoughts about sader as a blind student during his school days, and how that shapes his teaching philosophy.
also: good teachers!! i similarly have a lot of thoughts about how sader must genuinely love history & how he might enable his students to do the same.
Is it bad that Iāve owned the new SGE book since April and I still havenāt read it? Like, Iād fallen in love with the series. Iāve been reading it for what is essentially six years now - started at 14, now 18. But I feel like thereās something stopping me. I donāt know if it lies more on Sophie or Tagatha. Donāt get me wrong Soman is a fantastic writer but you can see his favouritism towards Sophie and it gets old fucking fast, and you can play favourites but itās when it affects the character arc it also creates a problem.
Sophie doesnāt learn anything nor face any consequences, despite the fact sheās the root of most - if not all problems because, to put bluntly; sheās a brat. Soman doesnāt acknowledge this. Sure, Agatha will give her a slight scolding but since when does Sophie take her seriously?
To be honest people bitch about Tedros being āon his period.ā when he wanted Sophie dead, but I was rooting for him. Tagatha have their problems but Sophie amplifies them.
If Sophieās not learning anything, then sheās not a good character - long-term at least. And I donāt want to have to force myself to keep reading her bullshit. I physically threw TLEA across my room when Sophie started degrading Agatha. I thank Sophie for one thing and one thing only; The moor scene.
Sophieās a shit friend, period.
Which leads on to Tagatha. Why canāt these two just be happy? Seriously Soman let them breath for five fucking minutes. Iām sick of them falling out because Tedros takes a bitchfit over something so minute that could be solved in one conversation. Tedros isnāt 14 anymore - which to be honest itās difficult for me to imagine the characters younger than me because Iāve literally grew through my high-school years with these books.
Edit: It is 2019 and I still havenāt touched it.
Any tips for panel layout for pacing? I feel like yours really lends itself to the stories u tell.
thank u. its random comic tips which may or may not answer your question time, cookie edition
did that help
This is SGE x The Greatest Showman AU that my tired 4am brain came up with.
Note: I'm merely basing this on the songs. The plot of the musical is irrelevant to this AU. please keep that in mind.
also try listening on this order and vibe with me.
.
Book 1. Sophie/Tedros.
.
This is the start of sophie and agatha's friendship. Sophie convinces agatha to come with her to SGE. Imagine the lake scene, yeah that.
.
Sophie arrived at School for Evil, and met her classmates. After the classes and the tests, sophie became an inspiration. Insert "Lunchtime with Sophie".
.
Sophie and Tedros- their love story basically. Imagine sophie as zac efron and tedros as zendaya (not literally, u kno what i mean). Imagine sophie singing never enough to tedros in front of everyone like the diva that she is.
.
Tightrope is Agatha's song. It practically embodies her come on man. and This is me is DOT's SONG YOU CAN'T CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE.
.
This is the Never's entrance in Circus of Talents. just iMAGINE- THE CHANT- THE BASS- SOPHIE'S ENTRANCE!! NEVERS ARE HAVING FUN AND DANCING! IT'LL BE AMAZING!!!
.
idk uhhhh sophie becoming agatha's friend again? sophie's self reflect? idk- think whatever you want with this-
.
thats it, go listen to the musical in this order, you'll understand where i'm getting at, and its fun.
