Quick sketch of the Scrybes. Love these bastards <3
So, I've noticed a pattern in some of my favorite characters
Alrightio, I'm down to the last two WoY episodes. The urge to just binge them now is verrrrryyyyyy high, but at the same time it's the middle of the school week, I have a lot of projects to work on tomorrow, and I basically can't afford to be a mess right now. Jvskfhshfkfhkwfhkwhlfw maybe I'm just hyperfixating too hard but I think this might actually be my favorite show of all time. It's just so fun.
This feels like a show that'll get a reboot someday, but hopefully it'll be good, and not be made in twenty years time like the Invader Zim movie
Yitidtsidgkdgkxgjxgjgixgixyid okay I was worried the gen 5 movie would be too... Kidified? But that was actually such a fun movie. Fanart time? That last bit actually got me, wait hold on an after credits??? This is why I shouldn't write while still watching.
Love that the overwhelming urge to create only shows up when I have immediate schoolwork to do yup
Hahahahahahhgagahhagahha
You're insecure, not me hahahahahahagabzvs
Ayo fucking Puss in Boots did not have to go this hard what the hell
Only the finale left to go. The Flower was... Really depressing. Seeing Wander and Syl genuinely sad is heartbreaking. But at least it ended on a somewhat hopeful note.
The whatchamacallit robot episode was really neat too. I like how it subverts the epic robot fight trope to stick true to Wander's characterisation of being a pacifist.
Cannot tell if I like Dominator or not. Obviously I like her in meta terms because she's such a cool villain, but in-universe, idk usually in shows I don't feel this bad about the world being destroyed. But this world feels so well lived in and domestic, it feels like there's actually an impact to everything being destroyed.
Finale time? Finale time.
I'm literally smiling so wide right now holy shit-
There. Can't formulate words. I love this show so much. Wander, favourite character ever. I am so glad(?) that Dominator stays evil. And Hater actually being component?? I'm surprised that Peepers didn't propose right then and there, he was so fucking enamored. And Sylvia my beloved she is just so cool.
But you can tell that the show was cancelled on them unexpectedly. That post credits scene leaves on a cliffhanger. And yeah, wonder what the hell they were going to do with space monkeys from earth, that would've been so interesting.
But yeah, I love that the show's able to stick to it's moral of always trying to help others and seeing the good in people, but it doesn't present an overly idealistic view either.
Yes, sometimes the entire galaxy gets destroyed, and there's nothing you can do about that.
But there's also the growth of new life, and also all the allies and friends you made along the way. As long as you're able to focus on the things that matter, you'll be able to get through anything life throws at you.
Wander over Yonder is just such a genuinely positive show. I love me some angsty characters and long drawn out narratives as much as anybody, but this felt like a breath of fresh air. It's not trying to be anything big, it's just trying to be something good, and at that it absolutely succeeds.
In a strange way, I'm grateful that it was cancelled mid-way through. Because it delivers that inch of closure needed, but also doesn't make it feel like an ending, because endings are quite upsetting.
Ah gosh I'm getting quite emotional over this lovely little cartoon. At least I can finally look at all the fan content without worrying over spoilers!
This Tumblr is probably gonna be full of improvised analysis(es? What's the plural?) and some fanart. I can't believe that this show isn't more popular. Then again, I've spent the past half-decade only knowing the show because of the Bad Guy song. Wander over Yonder was not at all what I expected, and if you haven't watched the show but are still for reason reading this even though I just spoiled the entire finale, then I definitely recommend you check it out! I think fandom consensus is that season 2 has most of the best episodes, but that by no means mean that season 1 isn't already top-tier shit.
Speaking of Bad Guy, that one quote from the Buddies song is just circling and circling in my head: "We gave it a go, put on a heck of a show, and did a lot of fun stuff we'll get to laugh about after." This show is also very good at summarizing itself.
Okay I've been pacing around in circles for a good fifteen minutes writing this now. I'm just gonna stop now or else I'll be here for the next hour.
Thanks Wander over Yonder and the crew very very much for existing and for all the love that went into this wonderful little toon. Check out Wander over Yonder. And that's all!
Wait I've just discovered you can change text colour. This is the best thing ever. Okay bye.
Ooh boy, analysis time.
Spoilers for The Owl House: Season 2 episode 10 (Yesterday's Lie)
First of all, Vee is fucking adorable. That voice is just really soft and lovely. Definitely a subversion to what we expected from creepy Luz.
Secondly, HOLY FUCK WHY IS EVERYTHING HAPPENING SO QUICKLY? I MEAN, I'M NOT COMPLAINING BUT MY POOR EMOTIONS CANT PROCESS THIS.
Thank gosh we didn't get the 'Camilla not believing Luz' storyline for too long, and Camilla was immediately accepting of Vee, which I am very thankful for. She really just saw a child in need and beat up a man. Good for her.
But thank you, yes. Vee is an ally. I'm really happy that they don't have another enemy. Vee is, once again, just really lovely, even if her backstory is incredibly fucking horrifying. I'm both impressed and scared that the show went there.
So Belos has been studying ways to take magic. This once again goes towards the theory that he doesn't have his own magic and is possibly human. This is further supported by Hunter maybe being a clone of his.
Belos might not be Philip, but instead Philip's brother if weird conspiracy guy is to be believed. So a witch tricked two humans into entering the demon realm. How? And why?
If Belos is still there, then it's unlikely that Philip made it out. So what happened to the guy?
So Luz has now been forced into promising her mom that she'll stay in the human realm. That's definitely going to be a conflict later. The way Belos presented the human realm to the Coven Heads makes me think he might do a SVTFOE and somehow conjoin the realms. Why does he even want to go back to the human realm? Just wanting power is a good enough reason for an asshat like him, but knowing this show there's probably a deeper motivation.
Hejsjwjsjdkqkq seriously I can't believe the show WENT THERE for Vee's backstory. Child experimentation????? Holy fuck that's messed up. Can someone please keep children away from Belos. And what is Hunter's role in, what's it called, the day of reckoning? Hunter's obviously going to have a redemption arc but I'm worried about what he's going to go through before he reaches that point.
Poor Camilla, she just had her entire world view turned upside down, and has to protect this one traumatized kid from a creepy Curator and keep finding magical items for her, while also having to deal with the fact that her daughter ran away from her and is living somewhere dangerous where she can't reach her. I fucking applaud her for taking this all so well.
Please can everyone in the show just come together and have a nice picnic with no world ending conflicts? That would be nice. Oh man every episode this season has just been one punch in the gut after the other. I'm so excited.
hi.
Omg hi
I just discovered how to customize this shit, it's wonderful
