The hospital scene but they actually reached each other
(It was supposed to be my December 20 drawing, but merry Christmas 🎄)
Eiji was the only one who made Ash look like the kid and teen he should’ve been without all the madness. And in the strangest way, Ash brought out the spark Eiji lost back in Japan.
Here’s another work of Eiji by Ayumi Yamada✨
I'm so happy she keeps sharing her incredible Banana Fish artworks with us!🥰
Found on Blue Sky. Check out her (new) account there:24-ayame (she announced it on Twitter).

My aroace ass and my deep yearning for somebody anyway. Just. Ugh. Why do I have to feel this way? I think that queerplatonic yearning started from Ash and Eiji's relationship. It almost hurts me physically. I miss and pine for someone I haven't even met.

🍌🐟 wip! What should I do for the background?
'I feel like the Banana Fish ending was fitting. Ash is inherently a tragic character that was finally able to be released and find the peace he wanted that he couldn't in life- there was no more story for him-' okay but have you considered shutting the fuck up and that him being alive, moving with Eiji to japan, and finally being able to heal would be the better ending? The fitting ending? Because while yes, he is inherently a tragic character, the ending helps push the stigma SA victims cannot or shouldn't heal- whether that was intentional or not. There was so much build up and metaphorical ways of saying that 'yes, he is free from his trauma now, he can heal' Only for him to just die? To not heal? Only to inflict a trauma Eiji can likely never heal from? I get that the show's a tragedy and supposed to be realistic- but think about what you say. There's a lot of people *in* real life in similar situations, who have the chance to heal but don't know if they should. Just because a person, or a situation, is tragic, doesn't mean healing isn't possible
