I know Adam didn't have any parents...so imagine an au where he considers sera his mom. He's constantly looking to get her praise since she's the closest thing he's got to a parent, which is why when she scolds him unlike in the show where he waves it off he's more bummed out since he made her mad and he trys to turn it around by making her proud of him.

That would honestly be cool to see in future seasons

Kicks door down: HELLO

I accidentally sent this request when they were closed so sorry abt that. BUT.

Can you do the water healing one where y/n almost (or does. I’m down for angst) dies because they pushed themselves too much? Bonus points if they literally had no other option

Hi friend! This took me a second to get done because WOAH it was angsty!

CW: Reader death bc i love angst (blame supernova not me), marineford spoilers :) Characters: Zoro, Luffy, Sanji, Law, Ace Word Count: 2.8k

Part 1

Zoro

Zoro trusted you. He did. But Luffy shouldn’t be as energetic as he is right now, even with your healing. Luffy had gone down three times. And Zoro knew you had healed him twice before you had hit your limit. Zoro had seen you vomiting from the pain before he had to go fight his own battle. He had left you curled up in a ball crying in pain, but alive.

It didn’t make sense how Luffy was so…bouncy. He should be sleeping off the pain and exhaustion from battle, but he wasn’t. So Zoro set off to find you, afraid of what he might find.

There was an urgency to his movement, his pace faster than normal as he made his way to the last place he saw you. But you weren’t there. Instead, he found a trail of blood, leading off into a side hallway.

It was your blood. Zoro wasn’t sure how he knew, but he did. Zoro clenched his jaw, preparing for the worst as he rounded the corner. But it was just another blood trail.

He was running as he followed it, weaving around corners and down hallways. He finally came to a door, and the trail ended right in front of it. The doorknob had a dark red liquid on it, but Zoro hardly paid it any mind as he pulled the door open. He found you on the other side, sprawled out on the floor. He dove down to you, looking for any open wound that would need to have pressure applied.

“Please,” he begged. “Wake up.”

He could tell by the amount of blood around you that it was too late to save you. He kneeled next to you and lifted your limp body, trying to get you to sit up. He checked for a pulse or any signs of breathing, but as he expected, there weren’t any. And so he held you, brushing away the hair that was matted on your face and whispered endless apologies. He should’ve found you sooner. You were only dead now because of his mistakes earlier.

He held you against his chest and pressed his forehead against yours. Zoro knew he should be crying, but he hasn’t cried in years. He just sat there, softly begging you to wake up, waiting for you to show any signs of life.

When the rest of the crew finds him, he’s as still as a statue. Nami’s wails and Chopper’s movements around your body don’t even faze him. He doesn’t even really hear them. It’s like he’s underwater, just waiting to wake up from this nightmare. Because he can’t survive the cold reality of living alone without you.

Luffy

“Don’t heal me, you won’t…”

Those had been Luffy’s last words to you before he had fallen into unconsciousness from his injuries. He had a vague memory of you giving him a soft kiss and whispering something about the king of the pirates, but Luffy wasn’t sure if that was a dream or not.

Now, as he looked at your broken body, he only felt one emotion.

Rage.

At himself. At you. At the universe, for being so cruel. And at the man in front of him, who took you away.

Everyone thought that your death would immobilize Luffy, in the same way that Ace’s had. But it didn’t. He screamed in rage, and even his own crewmates struggled to stay conscious from the overwhelming power Luffy unleashed.

Luffy had struggled against his foe, but now the fight was over in a moment. It was like a beast came out of him, snarling and destroying everything in its path. The enemy hadn’t even known what had hit him before he was dead. Luffy had a no kill policy, but an eye for an eye seemed more than fair right now.

Only after the enemy was destroyed, did Luffy mourn. He ran to your side, asking Chopper to heal you. He begged the reindeer, pulling out each piece of equipment demanding “Have you tried this?!”

Half of the stuff wouldn’t have helped even if you were alive, but he still begged Chopper to try. And Chopper indulged him, even though the little reindeer was sobbing himself.

When everything was out of the bag, Luffy finally gave in to despair. It was this moment where he went into complete shock, inconsolable at the thought of you truly being gone. He beat on the ground next to you, screaming and sobbing.

“Please! Please come back!” He screamed over and over again, until his voice was gone. Even when his voice was gone, he just sat there and sobbed next to you. The crew sat with him quietly, waiting for him to finish his grieving. They sat with him all day and late into the night, each of them crying in their own way with him.

Sanji

Sanji had only seen this much blood one other time before. On Thriller Bark, when Zoro had taken all of Luffy’s pain. That’s what you had done too: taken all of Luffy’s pain. And Zoro’s pain. And his own. You had taken on all three of their injuries so they could keep fighting.

“Go,” you whispered, laying on the floor. You tried to keep the sobs out of your voice, but Sanji heard them and stayed where he was.

He held your head in his lap, gently stroking your hair. “Does this hurt, my love?”

“Sanji. You need to go fight.” You didn’t want him to see you like this. You knew it was the end.

“I’m not leaving. You’re hurt. You need me.”

“I need you to go do your damn job,” you said. Tears were flowing out of your eyes onto his pants. “I need you to beat these guys and go find the All Blue. And make sure Luffy becomes King of the Pirates. And Zoro-” you struggled to breathe. “Zoro needs to be the greatest swordsman. Promise me?”

“Shhhh. Don’t talk,” he whispered. His voice was so soothing. You could feel your eyes getting heavier with each word. “Save your strength.”

“Sanji,” you pleaded. “Please.”

“I promise.” His voice was thick with tears. “Just stay with me. I’m here.”

You felt wet drops hit your head, but you were too tired to turn and see if he was crying. You couldn’t even offer false hope. Words were too hard to form. Perhaps just a short rest would be good for you.

Sanji was too scared to check your pulse, but he knew when you were gone. You just felt different in his arms. He couldn’t explain why.

He sobbed. But he didn’t beg. He knew it was useless. A part of him had been scared of this happening since the very beginning. His father always told him he was cursed. Everything he loved always died. He was foolish to think you’d be the exception. And now he was alone again. It was almost enough to convince him to throw himself into the ocean and join you in the afterlife.

But no, he made a promise. Your dying wish. So he had to do this for you and for his friends. He would protect Luffy, he would find the All Blue, and he’d even help that stupid marimo. Not because he wanted to do it. But because his promise to you was the only thing worth living for now.

Law

When Law came back from the brink of death, he knew it was bad. When he came to his senses, he was laying on the ground, and you were crumpled on top of him. You had saved him again, given his energy back to keep fighting. And now you were in pain because of it.

He could still feel his energy returning to him, slowly now. He cursed, realizing you were still struggling to help him.

“Stop!” he hissed. He shambled you away from him, and you landed in the alleyway across the street with a sickening smack against the ground.

“I told you not to help me!” he screamed at you. “I can fight my own battles!”

A roar came from down the street, and he remembered the reason he was so beat up in the first place. The enemy was closing in again, but with this newfound energy he would finish them off. And then he would deal with you.

The battle was over quickly. It had been close before, but now he had the clear advantage, invigorated with energy from you and with the rage of almost losing.

He walked back to the alley to find you, anger coursing through his veins at what you had done. You had made a promise, and you had always stuck to it. But he still hated it.

“I told you not to help me during battle!” he yelled as he approached you. “I told you not to endanger yourself!”

You didn’t respond. You didn’t even move, and that’s when Law realized you were still in the same position you had been when he sent you away. Your chest wasn’t even rising and falling.

Panic spiked his heart rate, and he quickly shambled over to you. He ran a scan over your body. No Life Detected.

No. No, this couldn’t be happening. His knees grew weak, and he collapsed next to you.

“Y/n-ya. Wake up.”

But you were still frozen in place, only a trail of blood running from the corner of your mouth.

“Please,” he begged, tears filling his eyes. “Please don’t do this. You promised.”

Your limp body offered no response, and he switched from begging to action. He began CPR, rushing through the events that led to this. You had been alive when he woke up, and the fight had only taken a few minutes. Your body wasn’t rigid, so there was still a possibility he could breathe life back into your lungs.

But he was the Doctor of Death, and no miracles were performed that day. Instead, his crew found him an hour later, still giving you chest compressions. They watched for thirty minutes, before Shachi finally stepped in.

“Captain,” Shachi said standing next to him. “I don’t think-”

“Shut up!” Law barked. He didn’t stop his rhythm. If he could just get your heart to beat on its own for a moment, it would all be okay.

“You can’t leave me,” Law choked out in a sob. “You promised.”

His crew let him continue to try to revive you, even though they all knew it was a fruitless endeavor. Finally, after three hours, he collapsed.

His crew rarely saw him shed a tear, but today he sobbed into your chest with more emotion than he had ever shown. And he was never really the same afterwards, either.

Ace

“I can fix him!” you screamed, running out towards the brothers.

“Like hell,” Marco yelled, grabbing your wrist to hold you back. “It’s too bad. You know that. You can’t save him.”

“I can,” you sobbed. “I have to. I have to!”

You pulled yourself out of Marco’s grip, and dashed towards Luffy.

“Ace…” Luffy breathed out. “You can’t die.”

“He won’t,” you assured him, sitting down next to him. Ace’s wound looked even worse from here, and you could feel bile rising in your mouth. You had to resist the urge to vomit. You had work to do.

“Luffy, stay with me, okay? I need you to be ready to take him to safety.”

You were prepared to die for him. You had been for a while. There was no better way to go than saving the man you loved.

“Dont-” Ace sputtered, coughing up blood.

You pressed your lips to his cheek. “I love you, Ace. Keep living for me, okay?”

Those were fitting last words, and so you pulled out some water from your flask and placed your hands over the hole in his chest. It didn’t matter that everyone was watching you while you did this. You were the last of your kind. Your power would die with you.

The pain came instantly, just as it had for Ace. You could feel your insides shredding apart as you used your power to repair him. His heart, his vital organs, that’s what you chose to focus on. The things he couldn’t live without had to be repaired by you. Marco could do the rest when they were safe.

You could feel Ace fighting you, desperate to get away from your grip, but you held on tight, even as your vision became dark and blurry, even as you felt consciousness beginning to slip away, you would continue healing him until the end.

--

What was only a few seconds felt like eternity, and Ace felt his body slowly begin to heal. He could breathe again.

“Luffy,” he mumbled. “Get her off of me.”

“Ace. Your wound.” Luffy pulled back to look at Ace. “It’s closing up.”

“She’s dying,” Ace sobbed, trying to push your limp body off of him.

“I’ll be damned,” Akainu said, staring down at your work. “I thought that power was just a myth.”

“Luffy, take her away. Now!” Ace yelled, pushing you towards his little brother.

“A shame her sacrifice will amount to nothing, though,” Akainu said from behind. Ace felt volcanic heat stir up behind him again. Another strike from Akainu was coming, but Ace was paralyzed with grief.

Jinbe jumped in front of Ace and held off the attack. “Ace, my friend. You have been given another chance. You mustn't lose it now!”

Luffy helped Ace to his feet, still staring at his chest where a hole had once been. It wasn’t completely healed, but Ace was moving. That’s all that mattered.

“We can’t leave her,” Ace said, tears flooding out of her eyes. “Luffy, we can’t-”

Ace’s body racked with a fit of coughs, and Luffy stopped. “Ace! Are you okay?! Does it hurt?!”

“We need to go get her,” Ace said, starting to turn back. But Luffy kept propelling him forward.

His crewmates were cheering them on, not realizing what your healing had cost you. “If we get you to the ship, we win! Ace! Come on!”

But Ace kept fighting Luffy, trying to go back for you. He couldn’t leave you like this. You had sacrificed everything and now you were lying there in the dirt under Akainu. It wasn’t fair. This was his fault.

“I’ll get her,” Marco yelled. “Keep going, Ace. You need to go! Pops put everything on the line for you! Don’t waste it now!”

When they finally made it back to the ship, Ace’s eyes scoured the horizon, waiting for Marco to return with you. People were celebrating their victory, but Ace felt like he was going to throw up.

Finally he saw Marco, carrying your too limp body. As Marco landed on the deck, Ace could see tears in his eyes.

“No,” Ace whimpered. “No. No! NO! Marco, fix her!”

Everyone stopped to watch the scene unfold. Even Luffy was at a loss for words.

Marco laid your body down on the deck and wiped the tears from his eyes. “I can’t fix her, Ace. She’s gone.”

“No she’s not! You just didn’t try hard enough!” Ace bent down next to you, grabbing your body and shaking it. “Wake up, Y/N! Wake up! You told me you wouldn’t do this.”

Everyone watched as Ace collapsed against you, violently sobbing into your chest. He slammed his hands against the deck, cursing the world and cursing himself, screaming loud enough for everyone to hear.

Marco waited a few minutes before intervening. “Ace,” he said, trying to keep his voice calm. “You need to stop.”

“I love you,” Ace sobbed into your chest, beating against the deck. His hands were starting to get bloody from the repetitive punching. “Please stay with me.”

“Ace,” Marco tried again. “If you keep acting like this, your wound will reopen.”

“Let me die, then,” Ace cried.

“Like hell!” Marco yelled, infuriated with his fellow commander. “You will NOT make her sacrifice and everyone else's sacrifice be in vain! I won’t let you!”

“You don’t get it, Marco!” Ace yelled. He tried to stand, and staggered a bit in the process. “She was the only thing worth living for.”

“And now you have to live with the fact that your disobedience killed her,” Marco’s words were harsh, but true. “But you still have to live! Or else you’d be spitting in her face!”

Ace screamed out in rage and charged towards Marco. However, Ace’s injury made him much slower than usual, and Marco ducked beneath the attack and jumped behind him.

Ace felt a small pinch in the back of his neck, and the world started to go dark. “I won’t let you kill yourself. She would never forgive me,” Marco whispered, catching Ace as he lost his footing.

As Ace plunged into darkness, all he wanted was to see you one more time. To apologize for all the trouble he caused.

Think of the children

Vander x reader

when Vander comes back with Powder and Vi

Think Of The Children

"Are you alright, Are they alright" was the first thing you said to him when he walked into the last drop holding two miserable looking children.

"Just a few cuts and bruises nothing to major." He says while you take the children to go get cleaned up then lay then down in your bed. Going back to Vander you see him sitting at one of the tables with his head in his hand.

'The whole thing on the bridge must've not gone so well.' you thought. You went up behind him and wrapped your arms around his neck giving it small gentle kisses.

He lets out a shaky breath. "So many lives lost. It....It wasn't worth it."

You were at a lost for words. Nothing you could say could seem like a positive in this situation.

"Where'd you find the children." You said softly to kinda get a grasp of what exactly happened on the bridge.

"They were on the bridge looking for their mother... She's dead... They saw her." His voice was raspy and dry. You let go of him in order to get him something to drink.

You went behind the bar. Cleaning a glass to get him some water you felt him wrap his arms around you from behind, hugging you tightly.

"If they have no where else to go I was thinking about keeping them." You smiled at the thought of having to more orphan children in your care.

"I of course would say yes but you'll have to run that by Mylo and claggor."

"Hey, your forms wrong... again. " Tengen commented as he sat on the engawa eating sweet potatoes that Rengoku brought over for you.

key words: For You.

"Show me then instead of being an asshole and watching. Your supposed to be teaching me aren't you?" You sassed back, dropping your sword to take a break. Looking over to him you take notice of what he's eating.

"HEY THOSE ARE MINE." You took off in a sprint to get to him.

Tengen ran into the house with you hot on his tail.

Makio stopped the both of you and scolded you like children and when she was done she made you both face the wall and sitting in the corner.

This happened often before tengen retired and you took his place.

The first mission you went on you encountered and lower moon and gained your mark. (let's say muzan didn't kill them after Rui died)

Tengen was devastated, he practically forced you to retire

So we're Hina, Suma and Makio

You were 20

They made sure your last 5 years were the best of your life

When you turned 24 Suma cried a lot, Makio fussed less and Hina... Was Hina

Tengen talked to you for as long as he could everyday

The wanted you to know that you were loved up until you final moments

The day on your 25th birthday you woke up to the 4 of them surrounding you, each with smiles on their faces.

"Happy birthday" they said in unison.

'Ok not creepy at all' you thought to yourself as you try and sit up but your body felt heavier than usual. Must be the effects of the mark.

Makio and Suma are closest to you and held you up.

"Thank you. So what's on today's agenda?"

"Nothing much seems like your not up to it anyway." Tengen could hear the way your bones ached as you moved.

The day moved by quickly, too quickly for Tengens liking.

You ate, you laughed, you cried and now it was time to go to sleep.

Walking to your room you knew you were walking to your death bed. It felt weird but with the Uzui family behind you it felt comforting.

They tuck you in to bed and just as you were about to say goodnight Suma jumped on you.

"I-i don't want you to go to sleep Y/n. Stay awake please." She pleaded into your chest.

Makio was second. She couldn't even say anything, she was crying to hard.

Hina and Tengen tried to stand firm but broke at the sight of you crying and hugging them as well.

They couldn't bare to say goodbye that night and instead got their futons to sleep in the same room.

Tengen heard your heart stop.

Alt End

The say if your 25th birthday Tengen noticed you weren't up for breakfast and went to check on you.

*knock knock*

"Y/n.... You up?" He opened the door to see you peacefully sleeping on your side with 4 notes in your hand close to your face, each dressed to the members of the house.

Tengen slowly walked to your bedside and placed a hand on your head. You were cold.

"Y/n" Tengen called in disbelief. "I thought we had 1 more day" He said barely above a whisper.

He stood there until his wife's called for him.

It's a bad a for rain.

3yo Reader Is Unconscious On The Ground, About To Be Devoured By A Demon When The Trio And Hashiras Show

✿✼:*゚:.。..。.:*・゚゚・**・゚゚・*:.。..。.:*゚:*:✼✿

The Kamaboko squad and Obanai were in on a mission in a small village, a family had gone missing. Two kids and the parents with a demon also appear around the same time. (Obanai was forced to go)

"There's a demon nearby be careful." Tanjiro warned Zenitsu and Inosuke.

Inosuke scoffs and says, "You don't have to tell me that I'm always more careful than you."

"That's great Inosuke." Tanjiro beamed. Inosuke didn't know how to feel about it and he didn't have time to figure it out before a raging demon came at him.

He dodged and cut the head off just in time. If he weren't the great boar king, he might've died.

"I found something!" Zenitsu called out. Inosuke and Tanjiro were quick to follow were the voice came from.

They found Zenitsu sitting with his back turned to them. He was cradling something in his arms.

"Is everything alright, Zenitsu?" Tanjiro asked cautiously approaching the lightning slayer.

"I don't know." He turned around slowly with you in his arms. Your eyes we're open and bloodshot and tears were pouring.

You had a cut on the side of your head that was healing in humanly fast.

"Everything feels weird" You croaked out.

You definitely weren't human anymore.

"Give them to me." Obanai finally broke his silence. Zenitsu didn't dare to disobey and handed you over to him.

"What happened?" he asked you.

"Momma and Papa were acting weird... Are they okay?"

None one answered.

Obanai took you to Shinobu thinking that she could help you. She couldn't and told Lord Ubuyashiki about your existence.

The corps leader summoned all the hashira to decide what to do with you.

"I'd say kill him. He hasn't killed anyone but who's to say he won't." Sanemi said without even seeing you.

You were hiding behind Ubuyashiki and his children.

"Don't be so harsh obanai, you haven't even seen them yet. Would they like to come out." Shinobu cooed. Afterall you were just a child.

You gripped the back of Kagaya's kimono.

Kagaya's son, Kiriya, patted your head, "It's okay, your safe here." He whispered and gently pulled you from your hiding spot until you were seated in front of him.

You looked at the new faces spotting Obanai, the only familiar face, and darted off towards him, not caring about the sun.

You immediately started to burn, Obanai acted fast and quickly took off his haori and shielded you away from the sun.

"Idiot." He sighed and cradled you in his arms. You were happy so I guess he was okay with it.

"thank You So Much And Like With It So Cute. How About Genya Just Having Basically A Delinquent Type

✿✼:*゚:.。..。.:*・゚゚・**・゚゚・*:.。..。.:*゚:*:✼✿

You're not a Hashira. You're not even a demon slayer. You just someone who just happened to fall in love with one.

From the outside it might look like Genya is the "mean" one and you the shy one but actually its the opposite. Most people found that out the hard way.

Genya always spoke positively of his brother and when you met him it was not what you were expecting. He would also compare you to him.

"Sanemi, this is my s/o Y/n. Y/n this is my older brother and wind Hashira Sanemi." Genya introduced the both of you.

Sanemi was intimidating no doubt about it but so were.

It was awkward to say the least. the both of you were just standing there staring at each other not saying anything.

"How old are you" he asked finally breaking the silence.

"16"

"Are you a demon slayer"

"No"

"why"

"Because I don't want to be one."

Sanemi looked you up and down

"mmm... I like them, good job Gen" He said before walking off.

.

.

.

"What the hell just happened." You asked.

"I don't know but it seemed well." Genya beamed. You smiled back.

if he was happy you were too.

" DAYLIGHT PANCAKES "

Ur Dad!zhongli And Dad!childe Made Me Feel Ckkshdnekdoidkskd😭😭🥺 But That Got Me Thinking,,,

━━ ☆ PAIRING: diluc/reader

━━ ☆ GENRE: fluff

━━ ☆ SUMMARY: in the early hours of the morning, there was only you, diluc and your child, all huddled together in your kitchen with the sweet smell of cinnamon pancakes wafting in the air.

━━ ☆ WARNINGS: small mentions of diluc’s backstory

Ur Dad!zhongli And Dad!childe Made Me Feel Ckkshdnekdoidkskd😭😭🥺 But That Got Me Thinking,,,

the uncrowned king of mondstadt awoke before the break of dawn.

despite his early rise, he kept his eyes closed, a soft smile lighting up his face in a way the sun could only dream of doing. from underneath his fingertips that laid against the soft, silken feel of your skin, he could feel you breathe, light and rhythmic as if not even the world's worst could hinder your peace. you were the ground under his feet, the fire that keeps him warm, the twilight in his dark skies. at that moment, diluc was convinced that home was your hair sprawled over pillows, highlands made of towering dreams, his lips lightly brushing on your cheek and pancakes. right, pancakes. with a light chuckle, he slipped out of bed, giving you one last adoring gaze before walking out of your shared bedroom built from a million memories.

the short walk from this room to that was routine. some days, diluc would wake up earlier than his usual to calm the adorable little monster inside. some days, diluc's head would be filled with nightmares and the trek to his child was the remedy to it. when his ruby eyes find the striking contrast of barely grown crimson hair against snow-white cloths, he is reminded that not all in this world was cruel, the definition of good being a defenseless human laid against plush pillows and blankets.

"good morning, angel," he whispers with a bright grin you typically wouldn't find on his face but came rather naturally to him. "ready to make breakfast?"

yes, some days the world was kinder to diluc. no stress from work, no weight from his duties, no horrors to plague his day. sometimes, it was just him, his child, and the quiet house that was almost made just for the two of them.

"what are we having today? we have chocolate and strawberry vanilla—"

diluc sighed as the baby laughed, having just thrown the boxes he placed right in front of them, "guess we're starting from scratch today."

"okay. sit here," carefully securing the baby to their chair, he crouched to their height, eyes softening at the bright reds that stared right at him. "and wait for daddy, okay?"

watching the baby mumble something incoherent, diluc hummed in reply, pressing a kiss on top of their head for good measure before walking to the kitchen.

"right, how does he do it again?" swiftly rolling the sleeves of his nightshirt up, diluc reached for the flour right by the corner which was apparently amusing for the young child, "is something wrong?"

the baby made an obnoxious 'humph!' that pulled a gentle laugh from diluc who leaned to boop them on their nose. this, of course, causing the baby to erupt in another fit of laughter.

"you know, my father used to make this for me. he said the recipe came from my mother before she..." diluc trailed off before carefully smoothening his expression with a smile, "anyway, this used to be my favorite but i didn't get the chance to learn how to make them. i suppose we just have to figure it out."

tossing the flour and cinnamon amongst other things, he stirred and stirred, remembering the days his father would playfully dust him with the white powder saying 'oops, my hand slipped. sorry about that, diluc.'

maybe someday, he gazed at his child who was staring at the bowl with a focus unparalleled, mesmerized by the way the strong hands that were just holding them were now whisking some strange liquid together. they recognized the bar of butter in diluc's hands and reached out, immediately whining when diluc pulled it away.

"later, sunshine. you're going to get us both into trouble."

noticing the infant's pout, diluc chuckled, trapping their tiny hands between his fingers in an attempt to provide comfort, "later, okay? i'll convince them to let you put some butter on your pancakes."

seemingly appeased, for the time being at least, the young child gurgled in delight before patting diluc's hands quite harshly for a child not even a year old. taking that as a sign to go back to work, diluc poured the batter into a pan, eyes trailing over the bubbles that started to form on top.

"what are my two babies up to?" averting his gaze, he mumbled a small 'good morning' as you approached to give him a kiss. "ooh! pancakes? there's some cream cheese in the fridge—"

"i know. go wash up. it'll be ready soon."

"fine," he rose a brow at your childish drawl, watching as you stepped around the counter to squish your baby's cheeks in greeting, "i'm gonna be back soon, okay? watch over daddy for me and don't let him burn the kitchen down."

"i'm not—" sending a cheeky wink, you left before he could argue his defense, "you're not teaming up against me, are you?"

narrowing his eyes at the baby who smiled all too innocently, diluc shook his head, going back to the task at hand, he started making the glaze that you had taken the liberty of reminding him about. you and your picky antics, he mused with a grin that told everyone of all the ardor he had for you.

"should we wait or do you want to—" diluc didn't even get to finish his sentence before the baby was already reaching for the plate, mouth watering and eyes pleading for help, "i suppose you could start early."

grabbing the nearby knife, diluc began slicing the fluffy cakes into bite-sized pieces, gently blowing on it before sliding the food near the baby's mouth.

"careful— sunshine, you really need to let me finish my sentences."

with an exasperated smile, he picked up a napkin to wipe the glaze that oh-so-messily stained the child's stretched cheeks, gummy smile showcased to the entire world.

"one more? okay," too busy cutting up another slice, diluc didn't notice the sudden furrow in the baby's brows, lips turned into a big pout as if hesitating, "here we go—"

"da... da-da?"

they say that time freezes for certain people at the most inopportune time of the day. it has never happened to diluc, at least, not before this. pausing, freezing — mouth ajar and hand so still in place as he tried to wrap his head around the meaning behind the sharp squeak that left his young child. shakily, he called out your name and you immediately rushed out, hearing the unusual tremble in his stern voice.

"diluc? honey, what's wrong?"

"they—" he took a sharp breath, eyes misting over as looked at you, "they called me their father..."

muffling your gasp beneath your hand, you immediately came over, hand interlacing with his in true bliss. placing a kiss on your knuckles with a watery smile, diluc was certain that this — you, him, and your child — this was nirvana.

turning his gaze back to the baby who was staring up at him as if he held the universe in his eyes, he softly cooed, free hand rubbing small circles on the baby's warm cheeks, "will you say it again? please?"

"h-hm.. dada!"

"that's right i'm—" you squeezed his hands lightly as diluc pulled back, hands covering his face as he tried to hide his sob. "i'm your dada."

"shhh... hey, it's alright," you whispered, lips brushing against his head as he pulled you close, hiding his head on your shoulders.

"i miss him — i miss him so, so much. he should've — should've been here. should’ve been here to teach me what to do.”

you supposed that even the strongest men could fall. this was the first time you've seen him cry for the lost, seen him so weak and fragile over his father. the last time he talked about him — felt for him — he told you that it was all in the past; nothing more than a wound that has been sewed up and healed. was that him telling you or was that him trying to convince himself? wounds heal but sometimes they leave scars and scars never go. they stare right at you, a reminder of the hurt you've been through on the best of days and a wound that inflicts phantom pain as if you're witnessing everything unfold all over again during the worst.

"i can't fill his shoes. he's too good, too good to me — to us."

"diluc, you don't need to fill anyone's shoes. your father... he just tried his best to make you happy and now — now it's your turn to try. you don't have to be perfect, you just have to try and when you fall while trying, we'll be here for you. always."

you felt him clawing at your clothes as if finding something to cling to. sighing in sympathy, you card your fingers through his hair, feeling a small amount of the tension he held in his body leave — as it did every time you did it. "besides, you're already on the right track."

pulling away slightly to get him to look at you, eyes looking like roses in the early hours of the morning, you smiled playfully though you wondered how playful it appeared to be when you're just as emotional as he was.

"you're the favorite one already," chuckling with him, you wiped the rest of his tears and replaced them with a loving kiss. as he deserved after everything he has been through. "stop stealing my spot."

"it's not my place to decide." returning your chaste kiss, he turned back to the baby who was watching the interaction curiously, "sorry for the wait, angel. should we go back to the pancakes, now?"

"oh right! pancakes!"

excitedly bouncing to the seat across diluc, you served yourself some, eyes still lingering on the two people you loved the most, "hey diluc?" a hum in reply, attention still focused on your baby. "i love you."

"i love you too..." he answered without a pause in the beat. "and thank you. for everything."

the first signs of daylight began showing as sweet laughter of delight mixed together to make one fine symphony. with your smiles no longer faltering, diluc was proud to say that the world was right by his grasp. cherry tinted and glowing spectacularly, he allowed himself to have hope once more as he wished for this orchestra to remain together until the end of time, singing about the lovely joys of being a father so that one day, he could join his father in a chorus of being a good one.

Kokushibo X Reader

Your husband.

When he was turned into a demon he had muzak turn you too. You never wanted to live as one but he wouldn't let you die.

When he became upper moon 1 while you were in the mountains in a small village after getting help from lady tamayo.

Ubuyashiki requested your help to fight against Muzan with the rest of the hashira. At first you declined. You we're to scared to fight and face your husband again. To see what he became.

Hearing about Ubuyashiki's death was a turning point. You rushed to where you knew Muzan's hide out was and ran through the maze of rooms searching for your husband but before that you went to tamayo deciding you had enough sitting in your own self pity.

You still love him. But you wanted the real him and if you had to die for it you would.

When you found him he was already fighting some hashira.

1 small one pinned against a pillar with a sword in his shoulder

Another one on the ground with a boy with white hair protecting his severed body (you were surprised the body was still alive)

You saw the white haired boy about to charge forward and you rushing in and stopped him.

"You did well, I'll handle it from here." You didn't listen to him as you starting walking toward Kokushibu.

He stood there not moving you didn't know what to think.

He you reached him for a moment you couldn't do anything until you heard him say your name...

"Y/n"

His voice echoed in the big room sending chills down your spine. Your throat felt dry and you felt like crying but not tears came.

You raised a shakey hand to his cheek and he leaned into it. "My love you have to stop." You said dryly. He stepped forward giving you an embrace with his sword coming close to the back of your neck on one side and on the other was his head.

"I can't do that.... You know that." He whispered into your neck.

Now you were crying.

"I know but its not to late." You took a syringe out of your sleeve, raising it to his neck like Tamayo told you to do, hugging him back.

You don't know who stuck first but you saw his body freeze up succumbing to the poison and your body holding him close.

You finally had the courage to fight back against the demon.

You husband had finally returned to you. Even if it was in the afterlife
