Danny is like a cockroach. No matter what happens he just keeps coming back.
Every Wayne has watched this kid die.
Every single Bat and Bird has failed to save him
They don't realize it's the same dude at first
They all just think they're having an absolute shit week.
He saved Damians life when he took that bullet
Jason watched him give his life for a kid when a bus was coming and the kid wouldn't get out of the way in time. Jason wasn't close enough (maybe they both would have lived if Jason had been closer. Faster. Better)
Cass saw the knife fly at him. She was too far. Couldn't tell to save him. She watched him fall in silence. He never made a sound.
He was at the top of a flight of stairs. Barbra watched him lose his balance. She was trapped by her chair and the daylight hours. She watched. Helpless as he tumbled to the ground, and lay, broken, before her.
Bruce was running late when it happened. His car stalled. Just as a boy, no older than his sons, ran (or flew or appeared) down the street. Out of breath. Covered in blood and bruises. Clothing torn. Bruce made to get out of the car as the boy turned and shouted. As if making his final stand. Bruce watches as the boy is gunned down by men in white. It's not until much later that he realizes the boy stopped where he, did, not because he was exhausted, but because they were running towards a crowd. That he had stopped running, had givens himself up, to protect the innocent.
Alfred held out a hand to a child. Too small and young and thin by far. He was just heading out to meet an old friend. He had no supplies, no emergency button no phone. No food to share or clean clothes to offer. Suddenly he found himself on the ground with the child on top of him, head oozing from what appeared to be a piece fallen from the building above them. The child has pushed him out of the way. His final act had been to save a stranger.
They're eating a meal in silence. All together for the first time in a long while. When there's a knock at the door. A case worker. Asking if Mr. Wayne were able to take in a child. Just for a short while. It was an emergency. He had no where else to go. They were desperate.
Bruce is tempted to say no. It's been a terrible couple of weeks. But who was he to turn away a child in need. Of course he has room. Let him tell Alfred. Just come through to the dining room when you're ready, you remember where it is of course? Excellent. We'll put extra places out for the both of you. Of course you're welcome to join us for dinner, it's awfully late and you must be starving.
Bruce goes back to let Alfred know they'll have dinner guests and is just settling in when the Boy They All Watched Die walks in closely tailing the social worker.
Chaos ensues

yess! It would be so interesting putting his talents into like, creating non-deadly escape rooms, or creating Indiana Jones-esc stories with all the temple riddles and puzzles for the hero to solve. đ€©
I feel like if Danny ever moved to Gotham he would get mugged way too often. Heâs got his ghost sense to warn him of supernatural dangers, but heâs got nothing for living beings.
So Iâd imagine the trio would make a joke out of it after the first few times.
âGimme your money and no one gets hurt!â
Danny just looks the robber up and down and then starts snickering.
âYou think this is funny kid?! Iâll gut you here and now!â
The mugger pulls a knife out and steps forward threateningly, Danny doesnât notice because heâs doubled over in laughter now.
The guys kinda unnerved but he lunges anyways. Danny ends up with a knife in his side and an unconscious thug slumped beside him.
He snaps a quick selfie and sends it to the chat.
Sam- Another one bites the dust
Tucker- L in the chat for mugger.
Jazz- L
Sam- L
Danny- L
Tucker- Is that the third one this week?
Danny- fourth
Jazz- Wait whatâs that on your shirt?
Danny-âŠ
Jazz- Danny what is that.
Danny- A knife!
Jazz- No!
Love it! And definitely looking forward to more!
-is a new experience for Danny. But he isn't in Amity anymore. Amity is gone, and he's alone. He isn't in Amity anymore, where the people knew him as Phantom and they knew he was fighting to keep them safe day in and day out.
He isn't in Amity anymore, where if he collapsed in the streets, he'd wake up on a couch with a blanket and have a few moments of peace before the next Thing happened.
He isn't in Amity anymore, with His people, and His problems, so why can't he Stop Helping?
So, here he is, peeling himself off the pavement, like the world's most unflattering pancake. This villain didn't even have the decency to leave a pad of butter on him to melt into his tender flanks. Okay, maybe the pancake analogy is getting away from him.
Even without the sun, the blacktop is hotter than Hell on a Sunday and Danny feels like he maybe partly melted into it after getting unceremoniously splattered.
His face finally leaves the ground, sticking unpleasantly, and a wave of dizziness washes over him almost intensely enough to send him right back down. Scrunching his nose, he spits an unpleasant blob of green out. It almost instantly evaporates once separated from his main body, but it wasn't quick enough that he didn't spot a pair of teeth in there.
"Ugh, ew." Danny runs his tongue around the inside of his mouth, feeling fragments of his everything pulling back into their proper places, the two teeth already replaced. Perks of being ectoplasmic, he supposes. "Better me than someone who couldn't get back up, though."
He wants to shake his head to clear the fog, but knows deep in his bones (He knows he still has those, you can only break them so many times before you're absolutely certain that you Definitely still have them) that shaking his head would make him upchuck, and he desperately wants to keep his insides inside him as much as he can.
A black and blue glove appears in his vision and he takes it, bracing for the person-shaped black and blue blob connected to the hand to heave him off the ground. The figure is saying something, but the words are completely lost to underwater sounds.
Danny shoves his pinkie against his ear canal and shakes it rapidly until, with a small pop, he can hear again. Is there a fire? It sounds like there's a fire nearby.
"Sorry, I think there was ecto in my ear, wanna repeat that?"
"Jesus jumped-up Christ, man, are you okay?"
"I feel like a pancake with no butter, why?"
"Is... Is that bad?"
"Bad?" Danny shakes his head and immediately regrets it, swaying until he spreads his feet and drops his head between his knees. Ah, that's better. "It's an affront to pancakes."
"I... I don't butter my pancakes."
"You monster."
Danny runs his hands through his white locks to push them back and out of his face as he stands back up, blinking hard while his eyes fix themselves and clear. He can now make out the blue bird on the chest of the black-suited vigilante in front of him. Nightwing, then. He guessed from the glove, but it was nice to get confirmation.
"Never knew Nightwing was a monster. I thought we'd get along through humor, but I guess not." He wiped a fake tear from his eye that... might not have been fake, just another drip from the side of his head having been flat. Oh well, it's gone now.
"You... you gonna be okay, man?" Danny could almost taste the apprehension.
"I've come back from worse. Wouldn't mind having a couch to crash on, though. Ancients, I miss home, the people were a lot cooler, even the rogues were cooler. More colorful and less likely to kill someone."
Danny Fenton is Chip Skylark
Normally, I don't like doing multiple crossovers. I prefer to stick to just DC and DP. That being said, I have always loved the HC that Danny Fenton grows up to be Chip Skylark because it is the same creator and art style, so this is going to be an exception.
Bruce never understood the way people became obsessed with celebrities. He never experienced the whole "crush on the celebrity" or the urge to follow whatever scandal a celebrity was involved in (as long as no crime was committed).
If he liked an actor, it was because their moves and TV shows were good. Their acting had a range of roles that were well done. If he followed a singer or a band, it was because their music was something he enjoyed listening to. If he had a favorite sports player, they were terrific athletes who won competitions.
It was never because he thought them attractive or that he was burning with the need to know who they were dating. He didn't need to see every detail of their lives because he honestly didn't care if this singer was seen buying donuts on a random Saturday with an unknown man or if an athlete was seen buying from a discount bin.
It always made him uncomfortable how fans thought they had a right to a celebrities time. Running up and demanding autographs, taking videos or photos without consent and the worst of all, sending death threats to anyone they believe was stealing thier celebrity away.
He often heard people say that famous people knew what happened when you became famous, but that just sounded like an excuse not to treat another human being like a human beingâat least to him.
The whole "they belong to the public now" was just....ugh.
Alfred was the same way. He got excited to meet someone famous from the theater but wasn't one to watch talk shows and sandals. Wasn't one to pin posters to walls or get offended when someone famous acted like a normal person.
Then Dick came to live at the manor, and although it confused him, Bruce let Dick get excited over a celebrity singer. Bought all the posters, signed CDs, met and greets, front row seats, and backstage passes if it made Dick happy.
Jason was the same with Broadway stars, gasping and babbling whenever someone he adored appeared on TV. Tim nearly fainted when he met that one famous skateboarder, framing the used napkin he had the man sign.
Steph adored that one Boxer, constantly babbling fun facts about the man that had nothing to do with boxing. Why would Bruce care what elementary school he went to? But he listened anyway.
Cass had dancers she went star-eyed for. There was that phase where she styled her hair the same way as her idol from Paris Oprea Ballet despite the fact that the style was only during nonperforming hours. Bruce had to special order the endorsed hair bands with a blue star of said Dancer.
Duke had an actor whom he never missed a single moive or show for. Even if the TV show she stared in flop from the terrible writing, the boy forced himself to sit through every minute if only because she appeared. He had a collection of DVDs long before moving in with Bruce and when Bruce took him to a special release night of her latest work, Duke had actually bursted into tears when they played her thank you for watching viedo before the movie started.
Really. Caring so much about people they didn't even know made no sense. He would understand if it was a fictional character, like the Grey Ghost because the character is and was just what that particular media presented. But real people? It was a real head-scratcher.
He assumed Damian would be the same as him. After all, Bruce knew his father, and his father's father had the same view of celebrities.
He was wrong.
"It's Chip Skylar!" His son screams at the top of his lungs when Danny's picture appears on the screen. His old college friend had contacted him asking if it was possible to have some special protection at his next concert.
Apparently, at the last one, he was kidnapped by some crazy fan and held hostage with a kid she babysat.
Seeing as Bruce and Danny often collaborated on tech for Batman (Before Danny got his big singing break, he was one of Gotham U's top engineering majors), Bruce saw no reason not to step in and offer help, especially if it turned out his kidnapping was due to magic, like Danny suspected.
He may not run around as Phantom anymore, but Danny had seen his fair share of magic users and magical creatures. That was the only explanation for how a tree had just appeared in the middle of the road and caused him to crash right in front of her house. She wasn't the cause of the magic, that much he was able to figure out when she chained him up, but it made Danny uneasy.
He was worried that the magic users would try again, and much like Superman, he had little to no defense against it.
"We're going to guard Chip Skylar!? " Damian hyperventilates, practically vibrating in his seat from excitement. "I get to meet Chip Skylar!?"
"You're a fan of his?" Bruce asks, slightly surprised, only to notice the same excitement on his children's faces.
"Ugh, duh. He's only like one of the most talented artists ever!" Steph gasped, pressing her hands over her mouth. "He once stopped to let a black cat, and every animal shelter in the state had their black cats adopted within a week!"
"I started flossing more regularly because of his Shinny Teeth song," Duke admits. "I couldn't get enough of that commercial."
Dick pulled out his phone, tapping rapidly. "I got to tell Wally. He will be so jealous I get to guard Chip Skylark!"
Bruce stared at all of them, wondering how even Jason and Cass seemed to be losing their minds over the same guy he once caught trying to drink three gallons of milk because, and he quotes, "It makes my bones go brrrrrrr"
"Danny is an amazing singer but-"
"Danny?" Tim snaps his eyes towards Bruce so fast, it took every ounce of his training not to flinch."How do you know Chip Skylark's birth name? Only the most dedicated fans know his non-stage name."
Bruce shrugs. "You all know how I feel about famous people. I'm not that dedicated of a fan but I happen to be friends with Danny. I can ask him to met you if you want-"
"YOU PERSONALLY KNOW CHIP SKYLARK, AND YOU DARED TO GIFT ME ART SUPPLIES FOR MY BIRTHDAY!? FATHER HOW COULD YOU!" Damian screeched, slamming his hands on the conference table as his siblings broke into an uproar.
Bruce honestly can never understand this.
"This is Raven." Danny pointed out, slurping his smoothie.
"Hi."
"Her dad is Trigon."
"Oh, that the guy who-" tucker spoke up.
"Yea, same guy who kept trying to invite himself into my annual ball each year in the infinite realm? Yea, that guy." Danny said as went straight for his burger.
"And that his daughter or si-
"Yea, his daughter, supposedly some secret weapon to try and invite into my home dimension to go to the party. I just put one of my spare anti trigon rings on her, disconnecting the line between him to her when she reverse summoned me for a bargain for something, and she kept following me ever since" Danny said, munching on his burger then sipping the remaining of his smoothie.
"Danny, I think you accidentally married trigon's daughter." Tucker flat out said as danny choked on his smoothie.
Please, someone help me. I am invested. I desire to write this, but I donât know enough about the lore of either fandom to properly string this along. My need is desperate, and I cannot do anything to satiate it-
In Arkham they don't allow outside media in fear of the rouges getting any ideas. This leads to them treating the staff like their own personal TV show, this leads to a level of parasocial obsession that can often be detrimental (See Harley Quinn as a notable example). So when DR. Jazz Fenton comes in with subtle hinting of government conspiracies and a 'i've seen worse' attitude they are INVESTED. Meany of them are staying just for the show, their plans can wait they NEED to know this woman's backstory.
"hey it's been awfully quiet"
"Yeah, new hire at Arkham, it happens sometimes"
*3 months later*
"sooo"
"yeah something's definitely up"
This idea could work with any Danny ship, but I like Dead on Main best for it, so that's what I'mma do. BUT if anyone decides to use this idea using any other ship (platonic or romantic idc) let me know so I can see it!
(this is a prompt btw and anyone can use it)
Jason is Danny's soulmate and vice versa. They've got the soulmarks on their wrists to prove it. When Jason died, the soulmark on Danny's wrist faded - signalling that Danny's soulmate died. When Jason came back to life, so did the soulmark on Danny's wrist.
When Danny dies (aka, whenever he goes ghost) Jason's wrist mimics Danny's state of being. It goes back and forth often enough that Jason can and has used it as a coin flip to make decisions.
It's a few years after AGIT and Danny's off to college! Gotham City University specifically.
Things are going well, he's going for a mechanical engineering degree. Sam and Tucker are around and when they're not too busy they meet up, he's even making friends outside of the Amity social-circle. He works as a medium to pay his bills and, surprise-surprise bringing shades back to the ghost zone is easy for a kid who fought supervillain level ghosts in highschool.
Tiny problem though, nobody in Amity taught Danny to be "human". He obviously knows not to float around in public just cause his feet are tired, but his friends know human eyes don't glow to really show when you're annoyed. They all like him still but, Everybody thinks he's something.
His classmates: think he's possessed by a demon.
The Bats: think he's possessed by a snich ghost.
His new friends: think he's a closeted meta.
Danny: thinks he's crushing the whole secret-identity thing ;)
The GIW knows Amity Park is a huge fraud. The âmost haunted city in the USâ, really? Theyâve been checking the place out for decades with nary a peep aside from that couple of crazy scientists that moved into town around twenty years prior.
Because of this, the town became a punishment duty. One of their agents causes trouble? They get put in time out and sent to work for a while in Amity Park. Let those idiots chase after pointless rumors while the actually competent agents work with the more important ghosts. The reports back from the town get barely more than a cursory glance before getting tossed in the shredder.
âŠWhich really came back to bite them when ghosts did actually start to show up, and they didnât realize until after the Amity Park branch had royally screwed up the situation.
Fuck, they really hope this doesnât start a war.
Optional DPxDC addition: they call in the Justice League Dark for help with negotiation and taking down their rogue members
Dani getting de-aged and needing to be cared for by Danny in Gotham. Boring! Done to death! Lame!
Instead! Consider: Danny and/or Jazz getting de-aged and getting cared for by Dani in Gotham!
(*cheering*)
âI can do it,â Jazz said, even as she was tiny and adorable. âIâm the best at taking care of Danny.â
Daniâs heart broke in two. She was aware that her adoptive parents, Jack and Maddie, were neglectful, but sometimes, she didnât realize the extent of it. Despite his many flaws, Vlad had been a very attentive parent (even if it was also detrimental and almost obsessive.)
âUh. No, no,â Dani said, pulling the frying pan away from Jazz. âI can do it, but thank you, Jazz. Youâre a very good sister.â
Jazz had wilted at her refusal but at the end, she was beaming. She nodded and said, âIâm the best big sister ever. Did you know that big sisters are often pa-rent-i-fied within families?â
Her careful pronunciation of âparentifiedâ made Dani smile. âThatâs nice.â
Danny waddled up to them both, leaning against Daniâs leg and lifted up a toy truck that she had bought in order to distract him from the fact that they were in an entirely different city. âHere,â he said. âYou can use my car.â
Dani blinked. âThank you,â she said as she took the care and put it on the counter, for lack of better words to say after being offered a toy car. Danny nodded very sagely.
Dani sighed as she started scrambling eggs for her big siblings turned little siblings. She wished that the incident hadnât happened, that she hadnât been forced into kidnapping her big siblings to a different city, that their parents hadnât tried to attack them, that she hadnât become parentified herselfâŠ
But Desiree wasnât here and Dani had to step up quickly if she wanted her and her siblings-turned-toddlers to survive in this crazy city.
On the first day, she had already encounter two separate villains and nearly gotten mugged! If it hadnât been for her ghost powers, who knew what couldâve happened?! And they were starting to wane again⊠she desperately needed another dose of Ecto-Dejecto tooâŠ
âDani! Dani! The eggsâre burning!â Jazz said loudly.
Dani gasped as she finally registered the smell of smoke. Panicked, she yanked the pan off of the stove and then opened a door to toss it outside onto the balcony.
She stared at the burnt eggs with despair, suddenly realizing that she was way in over her head and the three of them would be dead in a week, all because she thought that she could handle taking care of herself and two toddlers, completely forgetting that she used to be homeless before being adopted.
Tears began to bead at her eyes. That was, until a voice called out, âExcuse me? Miss? Do you need some help?â
Dani looked up, where she blinked at the sight of two people staring at her on the neighboring balcony. One was a blonde haired girl and the other was a boy with black hair, both looking at her with sympathy and worry.
âDo you need some help?â The boy asked again.
Dani swallowed. The balcony door creaked as Jazz and Danny poked their heads out to stare at Dani in confusion.
The girl gasped at the sight of them before she started moving closer. Dani startled in shock as the girl started climbing over the balcony to get to her. âOh, you definitely need help. Alright, girlie, scoot over, weâre coming over to help!â
Important to share
EVERYBODY knows (or should) that you DO. NOT. STOP. in Vidor, Texas.Â
Itâs best to just run out of gas elsewhere. Whatever you do, black folks, DO NOT STOP IN VIDOR, TEXAS.Â
Thereâs a good chance youâll get lynched or just come up missing - and Iâm not joking.
also do NOT stop in Harrison, Arkansas!!!! (relatively close to OK and MI) a nazi town with a BIG KKK organization.
