COSMOOOO!!!
SUPER cool theory!! I agree with everything you said and even had the same ideas, just wanted to say though that star buns are totally possible with black curly hair! its so cool!! There's actually. this amazing black hair sculpting girl that has a popular video on doing that EXACT hair style Aika has, which I can't believe im only realizing now. I think they got inspiration from her!
There's a lot to enjoy from @kianamaiart's animatic pilot, Pretty Pretty Please I Don't Want To Be A Magical Girl. It subverts expectations while providing fun characters and a fun concept. Our story introduces us to an "ordinary" girl named, Aika spending her first day at high school. She makes a new friend with a lonely girl named, Zira and gets a perfect score on her first in-class assignment. It's not until she's met by her "magical best friend", Hoshi that she's reminded of a very important duty. A duty in which Aika wants no part in. It wouldn't be until lunch time that things REALLY start to go off the rails. A powerful young man announces himself as, Eclipse (or Moon Man, as Aika puts it) while smashing through the school walls demanding for The Star Guardian to reveal herself. Zira tries to protect her new friend, but Aika rushes in to save the day reluctantly revealing that she is in fact The Star Guardian and a magical girl. We've already established that Aika isn't normal, but is there something else about her?
She recently moved into a new town wanting a normal life. Hell, the school that she goes to is literally called, School McSchool Memorial School. If that isn't the most blandest name for a school, I don't know what is. She's also really eager to do normal things such as getting ready for class, eating lunch, meeting losers, and doing tests. Speaking of which, she certainly does have a somewhat high intelligence since she was the only one in class to get a perfect score. When Hoshi comes to confront her about trapping the little star in a box, Aika is very adamant on maintaining this normal life saying that she "needs this" and "whatever needs to be done can be handled by the others back home". Others? Who are these others?
I feel as if Aika may be something more than what we're led on to believe. I think she may not have come from Earth. Or maybe she's always been magical, but never went to a school because of this. Think about it! She learns Zira is a "loser" and she immediately says, "Wow! A real life high school loser!" which is odd because you'd think she'd already know what a loser is at her age. She doesn't eat normally by how she scarfed down her food during lunch, her high test scores, how she randomly tells the teacher she loves her, she has never experienced a fire drill, she introduces herself to Zira by saying "I'm a normal girl with average talent & absolutely no secrets", and her hairstyle. If you've noticed, Aika's hairstyle is different from every other character (at this moment). Her hair also compliments her companion, Hoshi. What if she comes from a place where everything and everyone has this star motif going on? What if she was an alien civilian who was told by Hoshi that she was magical and right after she trapped Hoshi in a box, she booked it to planet Earth in the most normal-looking place to rebelliously live the life she always wanted to live. I could be wrong of course, but that's just a theory. But now that evil is growing, Aika will have to save the world (and likely the universe) whether she likes it or not with new friends along the way!
exactly bruh

I never thought I’d be in this position—having to ask for help just to survive. But war does not give you a choice. It takes and takes until all you have left is the will to fight for whatever remains.
Thanks to your kindness, we’ve now reached $2,200. It is still far from what we need to rebuild, but it is something. It is a reminder that we are not alone in this struggle.

Women don't do makeup, wear skimpy uncomfortable clothing, break their skin barrier with a bunch of useless "skincare products", shave daily, go under the knife, suffer eating disorders and spend an insane amount of money on beauty enhancements for men. They do it for themselves. But the part of themselves that they're doing it for, is the part that grew up in a patriarchal society which tells them that their natural self isn't enough, that makes them embarrassed to show their unaltered appearance to the public, that tells them they're not woman enough if they're not "feminine". They do it for themselves because they've internalized the man made insecurities that have been pushed on them since birth. "I'd do this even if men didn't exist", we say, but that's only true for the society that we are in. If men were to have never existed, we wouldn't feel the need to go to such extremes for beauty in the first place.
every piece of ""autistic representation"" in hollywood sucks not just because of the infantalization and inspiration porn but because movie executives always fail to realize the real universal autistic experience: spending your childhood slowly and unfalteringly realizing all of your friends not so secretly hated and/or merely tolerated you at best and you've missed every social signal about it ever
