Our daily struggle to find a piece of bread 🍞

It is well known now that the people of Gaza in the south part are struggling and experiencing the hunger again due to lack of wheat flour 🌾 , which is necessary to make bread 🥖 🍞

Yesterday i have made my journey to bring bread from one of the bakery in Nuserirat area, after waiting for more than 5 hrs, unfortunately I was not able to bring eatable bread to my small family.

The price of 20 small bread is 20 nis (about 5,5$), and from the black market it is more 10-15$.

i am not sure how to start this- what iteration of words will move a kind stranger to action or convince another that this passage is worth the five minutes it'll take to read it

would you be inclined to learn just how a body shuts down after being malnourished for so long? or what lengths families must go to in order to survive? perhaps a retelling of the rising temperatures-- how everything from the contaminated water they drink to the dirty pillows they lay on is hot will be enough

do you need me to lay it out so plainly that your stomachs churn and your eyes well up with tears? are you waiting to feel that pang inside your chest- the one that screams "enough is enough." do you look at safaa's beautiful family and think they deserve more?

would you still feel that way even if i told you nothing at all?

From morning till night, we search for the same things Abel and Cain sought to survive: water, food, and fire. As you read this message, my family and I are hungry, thirsty, and terrified. We are homeless, depressed, and feeling hopeless. To be honest with you, I can endure famine, thirst, and homelessness, but I cannot bear the thought of watching my children die from starvation. 

I am a father of three children, striving alongside my wife to secure a decent life for them. After October 7th, our lives took a drastic turn with the onset of the cruel war on Gaza. Tragically, everything we owned was lost when our home and business were bombed and destroyed. We are now enduring a slow death, living a devastating life in Gaza. 

I am reaching out to you after exhausting all other options that could keep us alive. The basic needs of living and the harsh circumstances we are enduring have forced me to write this letter and extend a hand for help.
