The lesbian flag but it’s color-picked from ji-yeong’s last scene
"sang-woo didn't feel any remorse for his actions!!!!!" (rant incoming hi guys)
okay. im NOT an expert in facial expressions at all. but compare these images, during the later games (1: on the glass bridge, unsure of when; 2: after marbles before glass bridge, eating the consolation potato)
to these. (before marbles)
although he's still quite distressed (in the death games, wow! who would have guessed!), after marbles was when he genuinely started to lose his mind and spiral downward. i like to imagine in his head he’s fighting a battle between the overwhelming, harrowing feeling of guilt, and the need to win the games/being so desperate and willing to do anything to get out with the money.
in the first couple images, his eyes have that glassy, faded kind of look to them.
i do also want to take into account that sang-woo very visibly felt and looked guilty during the dalgona game. not because he lied about the game exactly, but because he nearly sent his best friend into death.
while i think it likely fucked with him self-consciously, i do think he was able to deflect it with "well he survived anyway" instead of wallowing in it like later.
(another thing i noticed (credits to @degenerata69 for pointing this out, i forgot where they said it but it made me do some deeper diving) is that sang-woo was one of the last triangle-shaped cutters to finish. i do think he was taking his time to ensure it didn't break, but i also do think his thoughts of guilt slowed him down. also his hands are shaking before the gunshots go off (seen more towards the beginning) poor guy.)
now look at his face after killing sae-byeok.
still a heartless monster with no remorse?
just tapped out of a fic bc the first two mentions of sae-byeok’s name had been autocorrected to ‘sad byeok’ and ‘save byeok’ and I couldn’t take it seriously after that

-not clingy but would not mind if you were
-very quiet and reserved, but alone she’s more carefree with you
-she loves you a lot and shows you that through simply being there for you and loving you in meaningful, subtle ways
-loves soft kisses
-likes to tease you playfully sometimes
-loves to see you be yourself and open up to her
-finds it easy to talk to you the most
-very protective
-doesn’t ever want to think about letting you go
-you are one of the only ones who makes her smile so hard
-she loves the moments where you just exist with each other. for example, you two can just be laying in bed in lazy mornings and her heart will swell with how much love and peace she feels in the moment
-you go out on simple, easy going dates. she doesn’t mind where you go as long as you both are happy and comfortable

people don’t talk about ji-yeong enough i fear
she was a child forced to succumb to her father’s physical and sexual abuse, as well as likely witness her mother being abused by her disgusting father. had to witness said mother get stabbed by said father.
then, after killing her father (rightfully so), ji-yeong wasn’t given a second chance at life — she was immediately incarcerated until being released and later sent into the games by the recruiter.
she quite literally had nothing to live for. the only person she could have lived for was forced to kill her due to the games.
honestly, she had one of the saddest stories in my opinion. she wasn’t even given a chance to live happily.
She was only in 3 episodes but Ji-yeong really made such an impact for me. She is such an interesting and tragic character. Like we meet her and she is so casual and unbothered by the games where every round she could literally die. And she makes fun of the religios man and tells him that he can pray as much as he wants but he still did what he did and then we learn about her father and then it makes sense. And she asks about Sae-byeok and her family and she suggests telling each other their story because one of them is gonna die anyways but she keeps forgetting about that fact. And then she tells her story and we find out she got abused and was in prison for killing her father but can we really blame her? And she just got out of prison and I feel like she needed this. Telling somebody her story, what happened to her. She suggests they tell each other the things they could never tell anybody else and asks specific questions on purpose, like if Sae-byeok has ever seen a dead body because she knows in return she is going to be asked that same question and she listens and then she tells her own story. And then she loses on purpose for Sae-byeok. And at first she's like "come on let me have my cool moment here" but it's not cool because she's about to die and then in the end she finally shows her emotions and gets sad and says she has nothing to live for, no goals for what she's gonna do if she wins. Sae-byeok was probably the first person she got closer to in a long time and so she dies so that Sae-byeok can go on and I just think for such a small role that was only present in one third of one season making such a big impact is incredible writing and incredible acting too
