i sometimes like characters that fucking suck. when a character is a shit head in just the right way it can be so funny and/or compelling. like this is my beloved character, Asshole The Hater. they suck and i love them. someone dropped them into a ditch on the side of the road and i picked them out of the ditch and put them in my pocket

I love love love love LOVE people who give Shrimpo actual personality and nuance

Like, I get that he's supposed to be the comedic 'I hate everything!!!' character or whatever, but come on. That's his only personality trait? Really?

It doesn't even have to be some sort of childhood trauma that gave him anger issues as a coping mechanism or whatever, literally just. Anything. Except hating stuff.

I've seen people who hc that he secretly likes playing with Pebble or is actually protective of Toodles, or even that he just likes cooking, and I love it because now he feels like an actual character and not some sort of joke or plot device

Most of not all of the Toons have some level of nuance and lore, even if they seem pretty basic at first glance (Glisten, Shelly), and then Shrimpo is in the corner with his one trait and I don't really like that. No shade to the creators (minus what they deserve with all the drama), but that feels honestly kinda lazy to me. I know he's supposed to be a joke, but when every other character is taken seriously to some degree, even the comic relief needs a bit of depth imo

ISRAEL AND THE US ARE MASS MURDERING PALESTINIANS.

Ahmed and Dina's family, consisting of 4 very young children (the youngest, Ronza, less than a year old!) have returned home to north Gaza. I can't help but worry if he and his family will be alright, especially after hearing about the devastation they felt from what they found remaining of their home.

Ahmed tells me there is no internet in the northern Gaza Strip at the moment, so he will be unable to be online for a while; in the meantime, please help him to continue his fundraiser's progress! What a nice surprise to return to: to see that people haven't forgotten about you and continued to help in your absence!
