A bit of fanart for @ask-whitepearl-and-steven. We know that White Diamond can shoot white lasers that control other gems, but I wonder how that will manifest in Steven. Maybe Steven’s laser vision will give personality rather than bleach it away.
EDIT: Steven’s White light is being divided into Cyan, Yellow, and Magenta. Plus it makes his face look like the diamond authority symbol. ^w^
A while back there were a lot of YouTubers talking about what they would do if they were a Pokemon Gym Leader. This made me start thinking about what I would do as a Gym Leader and what my badge would look like.
I decided that my gym badge would look like a fusion of the three legendary beasts. Even if this fusion wasn’t a real Pokemon, I could still have statues of it outside my gym.
This 4th legendary beast also represents part of the burnt tower story as well as being a fusion. Raikou represents the lightning that struck the tower. Entei represents the fire that engulfed the tower. Suicune represents the rain that put out the fire. The 4th beast represents the steam that came from the tower and the clear sky. And finally, Ho oh represents the rainbow.
If he were a real Pokemon he would be the Fire/ Water type to represent steam, have have some interesting abilities from being a fusion. He would be known as the “Cloud Walking Pokemon” and have the ability “Cloud Walker” and the secret ability “Thunder god”.
Cloud Walker: Makes the Pokemon resistant to flying-type moves and immune to ground-type moves.
Thunder God: Electric attacks are increased by 1.5, this Pokemon cannot get paralyzed, is immune to electric attacks, and if it is hit with an electric attack then its special Atk increases.
Slightly Morbid Pokedex Entry: This Pokemon can fly through the sky by walking on clouds. It eats clouds in order to power the cumulus cloud on its back, and is well known for hunting Swablu.
Design: He is heavily inspired by the mythical “Pixiu” from China. The Pixiu is a god of wealth, which goes nicely with Pokemon “Gold” and “Silver”. He is also insipired by Shisas, Foo Dogs, and other dragon dogs. The cumulus could on his back can darken into a storm cloud, or grow into a cumulonimbus cloud.
Colors: The design on the left is the normal version, while the one on the right is the shiny. The colors in the normal version are inspired by the daytime and a Mountain Lion, while the shiny is inspired by the night and a black panther.
“You and me, brother. The showdown that was always meant to be: AGNI KAI!”
Also, probably the best animated fight I’ve ever seen, a heart-wrenching tragedy, and also callbacks to All The Things.
You remember Zuko’s Agni Kai with Zhao? Remember his previous fights with his sister? Remember his 540 degree turn?
Well.
If each of the character from Avatar the Last Airbender were turned into food, what food would they be? (Aang, Sokka, etc...) Post your thoughts below.

The Final evolution of my Avatar Sub-Elements/ Sub-Bending Chart. (hopefully)
Probending was fun to watch and a major part of the first season of the Legend of Korra, but I often felt is was rushed. One thing that felt was lacking was half time entertainment. Where were the shows, adds, and entertainment that come with other sports. I think halftimes might have helped the pacing and let the audience explore the world more.
Toph vs Ty Li We’ve never really had a full battle between these two. But I’m pretty sure who would win. Toph Unless Ty Li got her by suprise.
This is a fanmade opening to Avatar: the Last Airbender; anime style.
So I’ve seen and heard many people describe the magic system in Avatar as being based in the four classical elements. While this isn’t an inaccurate description of the show, the word “classical” has a very strong Western cannotation (Greco-Roman, to be specific). I’d like to make the argument that the elemental system in ATLA is far more Eastern than people give it credit for.
The concept of dividing the physical world into water, earth, fire, and air is just as much Ancient Indian in origin as it is Ancient Greek. Additionally, the existence of a fifth element that represents the absence of the physical or a world beyond the physical— which is often translated as “void” or “space”— is present in both Hindu and Buddhist philosophy.
This “void” concept is acknowledged in ATLA through the existence of energybending, an ability granted to our hero after coming into contact with a primordial being who existed before the four elements system. Whereas the other bending arts focus on overcoming obstacles using the physical world (elements), energybending allows one to subdue the enemy by looking beyond the physical and taking away the ego-driven brute force that lies within the opponent.
A solution steeped in a Buddhist conception of the world.
Like what I’m doing? Tips always appreciated, never expected. ^_^
