something something the gang continues fighting supernatrual problems within the town, even going to universitys near each other/ the same one so they can continue working as a group since it's fun. Eventually they face another creature that causes them to experience their greatest fears and Ethan is forced to fortell the future over and over and watch as none of his friends ever belive him. He realises that his greatest fear has evolved from being alone, to being with people but never heard, because isn't that worse? to be seen but to never be listened to?
Anyway they deal with the super natrual creature and alls okay and they start beliving Ethan again but it still FUCKS with him.
ps if you see how I just wrote ethan into casandras position (without the "no Apollo I do not want to have sex with you omg" moment), shhh no you didn't.
The way that I understood it was that supernatural creatures like Seers or witches/mages where encoded into their DNA. Like no matter what Ethan and Benny did there was no way to never NOT become these supernatural creatures (even if they did have special moments to 'unlock' this ability. Although for me it feels more akin to learning to run rather than magical girl transformation type unlocking but thats boring). On the otherhand things like vampirism or lycanthropy are similar to a disease but just....amplified. and so the miracle cure would then work as an almost super antibody rather than a purification of anything supernatural. It's a vacine not holy water ya feel? Although this view is also SOOO borring and basic so ya know ignore me.
Okay so Ethan drank the Supernatural all cure and he was still a seer after, I feel like this tells us something but I can't quite articulate what right now
blah blah blah greek mythology blah blah when we imply Grian is the sun we indirectly imply that Scar is icarus in 3rd life. "oh but Sirius that makes no sense" hush now. it does.
A lot of peoples defenses for the live action start with "its an adaptation it's not gonna be the exact same show" and like...duh??? Most people who are writing criticisms for the show aren't criticizing it because it's a bad adaptation alone, they point out flaws that come down to it just being a bad show. Adaptations are tricky to get right because they are essentially a professional fanfiction retelling, you have to work out what is the most important parts to carry across the main theme, sometimes that means you have to change the characters personalities or even arcs. We understand that. Many successful adaptations get that (think lord of the rings, or [i'm sorry to say this] harry potter. or even better yet good omens!). Why do those adaptations work then? because they adapt and write a fluid story BASED on that original work. It's there, USE IT.
The live action doesn't work for me because it fails to write its own story well. The exposition dumps, the clunky dialog between characters, the pacing. It feels like a rough draft and not a final product. Like there is SO much potential in this show and I really hope it gets a season 2 with a larger budget and a couple more episodes because I want them to do well. There's a couple of really cute small things that are so interesting like Zuko having those avatar dolls or Sokka and Suki first training together and her correcting his form. I want more of this and less of them just dumping future lore on me for no reason. It would really help them narratively if they just let some things remain a mystery to new audiences.
the upside to immorality— ur not GAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, okay, back on the Farm thing-
Who would win: Hatter's farm, which apparently has more than just ducks, or Karube's emu farm. Just so you know, there's a lot of emus, but there are also a whole lot of ducks.
But, well, now Hatter has a horse, a cow, and a goat in this extended universe, so.
Emu farm all the way. those things are monsters. A cow will charge them, yeah, but they're not fantastic at turning in my experience of being charged by cows and also they're quite easy to outrun ( cows are like 40km/h max and emu is 50km/h.). the horse might be hard to deal with since they run around 88km/h and have a really hard kick but I feel like one against ALOT of emus won't work. It will probably take down a lot but eventually even the mighty fall. the goat might be hard since it's a good climber but goats are also often small and I feel like it will fall as well. the ducks might annoy the emus to death but it would end in a battle of the pecks and ducks are just so small. they'll be attacking the emu's feat but the emus could attack all of the duck cuss of the height difference. however, if we include hatter in this (cuss let's be real that mans basically a farm animal) then the Emus still win because THEIR FUCKING HORRIFYING I MEAN REALLY IF I SAW ONE I WOULD START SOBBING UNCONSOLABLY THEIR MURDEROUS DEVIL BIRDS.
i haven't seen anyone share the video itself, so here it is in case you haven't seen it!
Arisu: so uhh apparently asking your boyfriend to watch porn with you, create an excel sheet to collect data on things we liked about the videos and things we didn't, finally work out what creates the perfect video in our eyes and then film it isn't a good date? News to me. Arisu:anyway I'm now single someone bring me chocolate and a big hug
So I remembered frozen exists and now can only picture Arisu passionately singing love is an open door with chishiya (arisu is clearly Anna and chishiya is…. Hans? What the fuck is that ginger bastards name). Oh and kuina is clearly going to be forced (and low-key enjoy) singing let it go. Usagi sung all of christoffs lines (low-key forgot the boys names ) and then idk hatter sung Olaf’s summer cuss honestly in a frozen au hatter would be olaf.
death note au where everythings the same except Light calls the death note his 'burn book' and uses a larger variety of deaths like getting hit by a buss.
Misa asks "are you referencing mean girls?" and Light in all his closeted shame goes "the fuck is mean girls?" knowing damn well he used to twirl his hair and kick his feet, writing in his pink fluffy diary about his phd level analysis of Mean girls when he was 11.
