Bella and Donna (original characters) are ship’s doctors and herbalists in Hawkins’s crew. Some kind of "witchy duo." They specialize in potions, brews, and other curative concoctions.

So sometimes the results of their experiments with new concoctions can be a bit unpredictable - not overly so, but still enough to keep things interesting.

My sincere headcanon is that Basil likes to collect various things/arefacts that have some "bad history". Even better if they're cursed
