Changes coming leading into 2019;

I’ve established that _Jammo_ as a name is something my friend and I want to cultivate into an apparel brand and self-publisher featuring my manga, catalogs, zines, stationary, etc.

I’m at inches away from giving up at times, but last night I had the worst pain ever in my for years of my illness and sort of just got out of the shower and sat down at my computer and bought the domain name Shop-Jammo.com. Jonathan and I spent hours on the website and it’s absolutely beautiful. I cannot wait to share it with you. It hosts an archive, a live Instagram feed, a store, collections archive (lookbook), a blog, and hopefully an online reader to preview all of our print material when we get beyond our first self-published manga short story and re-prints of my “Welcome Back” zine a lot of you liked.

For real though, all of my money is in this. I’m literally going all in, and I want to say I love you guys for not giving up on me and supporting me as a person and hopefully _Jammo_ as a brand in the short and long-term. I don’t have anything too kind to say regarding the comments on my last post because it isn’t the sort of post I made for attention necessarily. I’m just thankful and feel love for and from you all (￣O￣;)🌱 And also, I promise to do the contest results soon. If I’m honest, I just cannot decide between a couple and I had to prioritize this website to be up-to-speed with my own progress. I promise the wait is worth-while!! You guys will… get the best prizes ever!!

Wow

With how much pain I’m in and how slow I have to draw because of it, I surely would draw worse than Yoshihiro Togashii at his lowest if I had a hefty deadlines. I remember reading in an interview with one of his assistants during Yuyu Hakusho: he walked in on Togashii in tears on the floor, heating pad on his back and pillow under his belly, but still drawing manga. Togashii-sensei’s back pain got so bad and he just kept drawing manga. That’s a real hero there. He made two of the best shonen manga of all time. I love HxH’s “bad” art work more than anyone because I can feel that pain when I’m reading it. I really understand that pain Togashii is in, if that makes sense. I hope he is ok now. I love that guy. Anyhow, I can’t give up drawing if I’m alive. If I’m alive, I’m drawing, please stop asking me to take a break :/ I have the mangaka fighting spirit at heart. I got that shit heavy and nothing - no matter what pain - can take that away. I can’t stop. I can’t explain why, but it’s almost automatic for me. Do you know what manga has done for my life? It is all I am at my core, I promise. I am nothing without my manga.

Just want to update everyone who ordered within the time frame of 10/30 - 11/26!

I’ve received one of my boxes of inventory but am still awaiting the second. Once both are here, I’ll begin directly fulfilling all orders of the products in stock; “COOL CAT,” “Super Soft, Super Strong” ringer shirts and sweaters alike, “Sushiboy,” and “Doctor! Doctor!”.

“In Gloom” and “Pink Triangle” both sold out at AnimeNYC due to unexpected reception of both, so there is no residual inventory.

“In Gloom” is made with screen printing and I already have the blank garments here in stock in the room, so I’ve just got to bring those over the the printer. I’ve already started sourcing the bulk fabric for the second batch of “Pink Triangle” hoodies so once my printer receives that, we’ll begin the production!

My only worry is that these may arrive to some shortly after Xmas, because I don’t see these getting completed and shipped on my end within the next two weeks. Initially, my friends Alex and Jonathan were working on this operations-wise, while Alex and I were mutually involved in the creative process with his project 3-Legged Threads. Though, Alex realized he needed to fulfill his own creative desires and chose to depart shortly before NYC (we’re still good friends). While in NYC, some really sort of stressful and troubling instances occurred on both ends, henceforth Jonathan is no longer working on this project with me. Jonathan is credited on the “Pink Triangle” design due to his input during its creation, while Alex came up with the initial sketch we used in “COOL CAT,” along with photographing much of the clothing. I apologize if all of this takes some time, but please remember that printing on its own is a major part of this art form.
