The version without my oc
Prison is the most obvious choice. It's more direct about its queerness; it spits in everyone's faces that yeah, we exist. Its directness has the power to anger homophobes because it's so obvious and unequivocal that it's about queerness.
But I think we should vote Mama. There's the argument that the queerness in Mama is subtextual, or that it was named queer by the fans, which automatically makes it less queer than Prison.
But isn't that the point? We made Mama our own song. We claimed it because it made us feel seen, it comforted us, it gave us something to identify with. And community is so important. I love Prison just as much as the next person, but we made Mama our own. It's personal, intimate, individual.
Prison is a song whose queerness is explicit. Mama is a song whose queerness is subtextual. Both meanings are very important: the former conveying being out and proud, the latter conveying the very real queer experience of having to hide yourself for safety, and the desperation that comes with it.
Really, one could make a solid argument for both. But my vote goes to Mama for the song that spoke to and provided comfort for so many fans. It feels a lot more impactful, a lot more meaningfully queer for me.
Anyway leave it to me to vomit multiple paragraphs of MCR song analysis under a fucking tumblr poll, but perhaps that's what tumblr is all about.
If you ever find yourself questioning your own intelligence, just remember that Jujutsu Kaisen gave us a character who is the undisputed strongest living being in his universe (so much so that his birth altered the balance of the entire world around him) and is canonically able to do anything he tries; who could have decided to spend his entire life doing absolutely whatever tf he wanted because there is literally no one and nothing with the power to stop him, but instead chose to use his strength to protect and train the next generation to be strong and intelligent enough to overhaul the current oppressive system that would have stripped those innocent kids of their lives and precious youth in the same way it did his own generation, and this was a good portion of the fandom’s reaction to said character:
mostly based on one (1) line removed from 5 layers of context. When the majority of the story wouldn't have taken place at all if not for his strong sense of morality. I am so Tired.
Timothy Stoker & Jonathan Sims (The Magnus Archives) vs Gojo Satoru & Geto Suguru (Jujutsu Kaisen) vs Suzaku Kururugi and Lelouch Vi Britannia (Code Geass)

Soft! Satosugu headcanons are my kryptonite.
Geto is normally so reserved about showing public affection but sometimes he relents. When there's no one else on the train and Gojo rests his head on his shoulder he lets their hands rest together and interlocks their fingers, always marvelling at how long Satoru's fingers are. He closes his eyes taking a moment to rest until Gojo has to ruin it by turning to look up at him stuck out tongue and shit eating grin.
"Aw Suguruuu you do like me!" It always earns a shove as Satoru uses their hand hold to pull him closer in and make kissy noises at him.
***
When they play video games late at night and do their snack run Gojo always slings his arm around Geto's shoulder like it's second nature to him. It always makes Geto drop the volume of soft drinks and chocolate bars they've nabbed from the vending machines and Gojo never offers to carry them. He declares he can't carry them as he has no hands and Geto turns to see Gojo has pulled his arms into his t-shirt. He can't stay mad at him when he's so dumb, so ridiculous all the time. But he at least starts chucking the chocolate bars at him despite knowing they will bounce off his infinity.
i think that… approximately 100% of the time, parents, teachers, etc… have this misconception that neurodivergent kids & teens don’t know anything about how to handle their neurodivergence.
for years, i suffered through people making suggestions of things that were things i had done, and either weren’t worth the effort or they actually made things worse. i told them this, and if i was still having any issues with the same problem they’d say something about “well if you’re not gonna listen to any suggestions…” when I did. they’re the one who didn’t listen when i told them that doesn’t work for me. They assume that because I didn’t try it in front of them (which is often impossible), I never tried it. I tried doing my homework as soon as I got home. I tried doing my homework at the table, I tried working where I was comfortable. I tried listening to music, I tried working in silence. I tried using a planner, I tried setting reminders on my phone, I tried. I tell people that I have executive functioning issues and they say that I have to work on it like I haven’t been doing that as long as I’ve had to do things and it’s so much better than it was before. I’m as able as I am now because I’ve spent 18 years working on it.
One of my friends has ADHD, and at one point when her grades dropped her parents took her phone, despite her telling them that the only way she can focus on her homework is to listen to music, for which she needs her phone.
I was in a study hall with another friend, who also has ADHD. Sometimes, they would be able to focus and do their work. Others, they would end up being entirely unable to and would do other stuff. The “instructional support” person would start bothering them about it, insist that they try. As if they hadn’t already done so.
I am tired of watching people assume that neurodivergent people aren’t trying, or we haven’t tried. We’re always trying.

Hayakawa Family: Denji, Aki Hayakawa, Power
Submissions are still open!
They are so special to me AUGH I love them so much. Denji and Power are the chaos siblings and Aki is the older brother who has to deal with their shenanigans. They canonically live together and Denji just straight up said that he views Power as his younger sister. They are so Family it's painful. Denji's dad committed suicide and no one knows his mom, Aki's whole family died tragically, and Power is a fiend which means she wouldn't have any relatives anyway. Then they got put in a devil hunting division together and Denji (who lived in a shed) and Power (who had no home) were assigned to live in Aki's apartment, and from then on it's history. I don't expect them to win, as much as I hope they do, but I'm glad I found this tournament that I could submit them in!
whats better than coworkers being forced to live together until they love each other? sometimes a family is a 16 year old boy that was kidnapped by the government for having a chainsaw head, the most egotistical possessed corpse in existence, and an overworked 20 year old with depression and homemaking skills. they have one last name between them and thats all they really need.
They're from my childhood, one of my first real animes, this poor unloved child ends up with a family and a happy ending (we will ignore the sequel...like..reallllly ignore it) he finally has a chance to grow, to love without rebuke. It's just wholesome 🥺🥺
in all seriousness it's very alienating knowing theres Something Wrong With You. like seeing your mental illness come through in your behaviour and thought processes and knowing it's irrational and unhealthy, knowing other people are reading you as weird or stupid, and not being able to do anything about it is such a lonely experience
happy mother's day to the mother who really mothered
also happy mother's day to this cunt too ig
