Destroyer Masterpost

Destroyer is a sci-fi story about a telekinetic living weapon called Δ-107, or Delta for short, who is controlled by an evil space empire. The story takes place immediately following the death of the old Emperor and explores the ensuing succession crisis. hey, guys. I've held off on tagging because of the difficulty of en-masse tagging on mobile vs desktop (where i make most of my posts), but i figured it's about time to update you all

faerie's dawn is unfortunately going to have its return delayed further. on tuesday, I broke my ankle on the way to a café to work on writing. i got surgery yesterday (wednesday) and am thankfully in much less pain now though that's probably in good part due to painkillers lol.

still, i need to keep my ankle elevated to help it heal quicker. that—as well as all the pain meds i'm on, most likely—makes it next to impossible for me to write and further my progress on faerie's dawn. so, as much as i hate to break this news, i'm going to have to push back the return of faerie's dawn yet again.

if you'd like to support me, i have a gofundme where you can do so. similarly, i'm going to keep that much more updated on the progression of my recovery. not only is it much easier to update on there, but my low energy levels don't make it easy for me to update across multiple platforms.

another friend of mine, neila, has been kind enough to both help promote my gofundme and keep updates on the progress of my recovery on bluesky as well.

First of all; you mentioned the name in a rb sooooooo

What does it stand for?

ERGO stands for the Enhanced Regulation and Global Oversight department!! Aka ya boi rly rly wanted a fun cool acronym T-T

Is it known by the public or unknown?

ERGO is both known and unknown. A lot of people know of it, they know it’s a branch of the government that was made to deal with the enhanced, though no one knows exactly what it is that happens there. It’s safer that way, best to not put a target on their backs, a lot of people have it out for enhanced people.

Can you be Enhanced and work for ERGO?

Yes! The majority of ERGO’s members are enhanced!!! Including their acting director, retired hero Gray Adler (hero name placebo). Though there are a few non enhanced members, including Kyra (character in act 2 :3)

How did Anya get involved?

Okay okay so in the city where this is set (setting intros coming soon!) anti-enhanced riots are pretty common and a really bad one broke out and while trying to contain it, Gray got injured! They took a back road trying to get back to the liek main building or whatever

Enter 18 y/o!Anya, walking home from class and using that same back road to get there quicker! She’s jsut innocently going about her day and boom she’s face to face with one of her favorite hero’s who is injured.

Prolonged eye contact ✨

And then Anya goes and heals them (bc that’s her enhancement! Yippee!!)

Gray: ‘oh wow that is a very useful power uh. want a job?’

Anya: ‘…sure?’

Gray: ‘ur mine now’

And now Anya’s their second favorite recruit! (jsut behind Kyra, who Gray has been fighting to adopt for years lmao)

What made you decide to call your characters "Enhanced" instead of something like "superpowered" or "mages" or something else?

Oooooh love this question!

I knew I didn’t what to drift too far into high fantasy from the real world because I specifically wanted to have this story be more in the realistic side, which crosses of ‘mage’s’ and anything adjacent for me bc that feels like a staple of fantasy worlds

And ‘superpowers’ just feels…. overused, I guess? And it implies that it’s something supernatural (at least to me)

And in this, it isn’t! It’s more of like a… genetic anomaly thingy????? Longer lore post at it is coming soon

So I wanted something with less of a fantastical or overused connotation, I wanted something to make this story stand out

Random fact: ERGO’s working leader, retired hero Gray Adler’s hero name was Placebo which I think is very fun. Basically their power is enhancing other peoples enhancements, and they got a lot of backlash as a young hero for being a useless hero and just a ‘human Placebo’. Sooooo they embraced that! And now it’s their hero name !!!!!!!!

Okay okay so!

Charlie had a relatively good relationship with her mom, until she was kidnapped and later escaped only to find out that her parents were already dead. She doesn’t believe that it was an accident.

Anya is probably my favorite answer to this question!!! Her parents died in a car crash when she was 12. She was catapulted into the foster system for a few months, before finally landing with the Henare family—a pair of Polynesian immigrants and their only son, Kai. She lived with them for a while, and eventually? They adopted her. Anya is very, very close with her adopted mother, and is so grateful for her little family.

Adam…. Killed his mom. His powers, fire, went haywire when he was 13 and he accidentally set fire to his childhood home. He was the only one who made it out, due to his body being more resistant to the flames. He will never forgive himself.

Robyn despises his mother. His parents threw him out at the first sign of his enhancement. As soon as those tiny wings sprouted out of his back, he was tossed out like garbage. He grew up on the streets, surviving on only his wits and

Kyra has no idea who her mom is. She didn’t even sure her and her two brothers have the same mom, given her father’s… promiscuous nature.

As you're writing what you've stated is a very old story, has a lot changed since you began it? If so, what's the biggest thing?

Heya!!!!

Not a lot has changed to be perfectly honest, the plot is still mostly the same, and the characters have only been expanded upon!

I guess some of the larger changes have been to the story from a conflict standpoint. When I was a kid I was a more novice writer with no concept for what made a good, compelling story. There was literally no overarching conflict lol

But now there are MULTIPLE conflicts external and internal (some I cannot disclose for spoiler reasons) that compile onto each other for a fun story!!!!!!!

I’ve also added some characters! For example Adam and Robyn used to be love interests.. and now Adam has a wonderful gf Kyra and Robyn is aroace!

Hi!!!! Im Will, a queer teen author!! I previously participated last month on my main blog, @write-with-will ! But since then I have made this side blog for one of my projects, so I thought I’d say hi on here !!!!! :3

I have a lot of different things that I wrote, so I’ll talk about the one Thai blog is centered around, The Enhanced!

The enhanced is a web novel rewrite of a very old story I had half baked when I was younger! I am rewriting it and revamping the plot and eventually I’m going to post it on here for the world to enjoy!!

The story features Anya Henare, a 22 y/o member of ERGO, a government organization dedicated to monitoring and protecting The Enhanced—people born with superpowers. She is assigned to a mission involving Charlie Barak, a bartender at The Sine with a shady past.

The last line I wrote is from chapter 3, even though chapter 2 isn’t even done lol!

Charlie paused, ketchup dripping from the fry hanging loosely between her fingers. “Not a fan of storms?” She asked.

Are we ready?

I am...not, but I will be!

Since today is Mother’s Day, here’s a snippet from chapter three !!!!!!

She remembered when she was younger, a scared teenager who’d been ripped away from everything she’d ever known, and placed with a bunch of strangers. When she had nightmares, her mom—well, foster mom at that time—would make her a mug of warm hot chocolate and sit with her until she felt better. The only sound would be the woman’s humming and the occasional sniffle of a very confused twelve year old who had no idea what was going to come of her.

It was funny, the fact that she now recalled those as fond memories, considered those ‘strangers’ family more so then even the one she’d lost.
