Completamente Arrependida Que O Meu Outro Blog Não Seja O Meu Blog Principal, Posto Que Eu Só Penso

Há dois dias finalizei minha releitura de "Doutor Sono", depois de ter fechado 2022 relendo "O Iluminado".

É um pouco estranho e me sinto solitária na opinião de que essa continuação é muito melhor do que a obra que a originou. AMO "O Iluminado", mas em minha mais recente experiência com o livro reforçou-se o sentimento de que há uma carência ali que não está em "Doutor Sono" - um livro que, para mim - é fechado e completo beirando a perfeição.

Gostar dos personagens na obra original é um esforço contínuo que, em alguns momentos no decorrer da história, não parece oferecer qualquer recompensa. Em "Doutor Sono" a ligação entre o leitor e, principalmente, Dan Torrance é íntima, dolorosa, familiar. Sou grata ao King por me proporcionar experiências como as de Doutor Sono, Billy Summers, A Zona Morta, Joyland e muitos outros. Sempre serei. Sempre estarei pronta e exultante para mais uma dessas experiências.

Agosto se fecha e com ele vêm as atualizações de favoritos do mês no Letterboxd - e a estranha chateação de perceber que os eleitos dos últimos 31 dias não têm pôsteres que ficam bem juntos.

"Nope" de Jordan Peele não é a maior nota do mês, mas a experiência de ir ao cinema depois de um bom tempo encerrada dentro de casa foi, de fato, especial.

Minha lista para o ano está crescendo - desordenada e um pouco desconexa, mas queridíssima por me lembrar que muita coisa que estive postergando, finalmente estou conseguindo assistir esse ano.

Can y’all imagine when we get to The Vampire Lestat and see Lestat being abused by his father and brothers, and he gives this tearful, wounded look? It’s going to kill us. 😭💔

"Avalanche" really makes me think of Lestat's first look at Louis - when he immediately fell - but also about his heartbreak and "post-Nicki" lonely period. Waiting for a hundred years to try to love a companion again, fully aware that everything might crumble at some point but still knowing that Louis was THAT PERSON he wanted it to finally work with, THAT PERSON to spend a thousand nights with, a hundred thousand...
