Charles Tyrrell at Taylor Galleries

Last night, I attended the opening of Charles Tyrrell's exhibition at the Taylor Galleries, 16 Kildare Street, Dublin 2 D02 XF75. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The venue was packed creating a lively atmosphere. I loved all the paintings and drawings on view. My favorite artwork was the large red painting on the first floor called CG1.23, 2023. Charles's exhibition called 'New Paintings' will run until 9th June 2023.

Sandra Mc Cowen at In_Spire Galerie

Just want to let the world know that the opening of my exhibition ‘The Beauty of Maths’ at In_Spire Galerie last night went very well. The gallery is located at 56 Lwr Gardener Street, Dublin 1 and opens on Tues - Fri 12.00 noon - 5.00 pm My exhibition with run until the middle of September. Classy/Sandra.

Mark Francis at the Kerlin

Yesterday, I saw Mark Francis’ exhibition ‘White Light’ at the Kerlin Gallery. It was worth the effort travelling into Town to see it. I enjoyed it very much. My favourite paintings were the ones with the black background. I felt that this colour provided the greatest contrast with the white foreground. Mark’s exhibition will run until 2nd Mar 2019 at the Kerlin Gallery, Anne’s Lane, South Anne Street,  Dublin 2.

Victoria Morton and Merlin James at the Kerlin

Last Thursday, I attended the opening of Double Shuffle at the Kerlin Gallery, Anne's Lane, South Anne Street, Dublin D02 A028. Double Shuufle is an exhibition of work by Victoria Morton and Merlin James. The opening started at 5:00 so it took a while for the venue to fill up with people. The artwork on view consisted of paintings and wall-mounted sculptures in various media. I enjoyed viewing the large painting by Victoria Morten called 'About Listening'. It was full of color and life. Merlin's artwork was more understated. I liked his paintings titled 'Pier' and 'Sky'. Double Shuffle will run until 8th July 2023.

Jim Turner at Zozimus

Last night, I attended the opening of Jim Turner’s ‘Introspective Retrospective’ at Gallery Zozimus. The place was packed with people who knew Jim. As few sales were made. I particularly loved Jim’s vessels with their subtle use of colour and simplicity of form. Jim’s wonderful exhibition will continue until 30th Sept 2018 at Gallery Zozimus, 56 Frances Street, Dublin 8. Classy. 

Dáire Lynch at Gallery X

I saw the opening of Dáire Lynch's exhibition at Gallery X, 11 Hume Street, Dublin called 'The Light Falls Softly'. The venue was packed. There were many paintings on view which ranged in size and content. However, most of Dáire's paintings were figurative in genre. I particularly liked his large blue paintings each featuring a single figure with a patterned background. Dáire's exhibition will only run for another week.

Spring at the Solomon

Tonight, I attended the opening of the Spring Group Show at Solomon Fine Art, Balfe Street, Dublin 2 D02 T802 beside the Westbury Hotel. The venue was packed. I didn't get to see everything.

However, I loved the simplicity of 'Broighter Boat IV' (2024) by John Behan, the detail in 'Four Lamb Loin Chops' (2024) and the character of 'Nabresina Playtime' by Michael Quain. I enjoyed the curvy lines of 'Trust Issues' by Orla de Bri and the eye-catching qualities of 'Untitled 37302' (2005) by Carbon Walker. The atmosphere at Solomon Fine Art was very lively. There was plenty of beautiful sculptures and paintings to view. The show will continue until 27th Apr 2024. It was well worth the effort of going.
