“Chuuya is the second choice”
Let me prove you wrong:
1.The flags
Went against the bosses orders to give chuuya a good gift (his past) and also risked their lives for chuuya.
2.Verlaine
“He would chose Rimbaud” bro literally shot this man just so chuuya would be safe.
3.Murase
Wanted to return chuuya to the world of light
4.Adam
Programmed himself to put chuuya before anything and risked his life for chuuya (he came back though, I’m happy)
5.Kouyou
I honestly hate when people say she would choose Kyouka as if she can’t love two people equally. Like are we reading the same thing? She cares about chuuya a lot.
6.Dazai
“But Oda....” no shut up
the relationship that dazai has with oda and chuuya are two completely different things. Dazai just fulfilled a promise from a dead friend. Dazai trust chuuya with his life.
nami is usually the one who has a soft spot for children, so it means a lot for robin to be the crewmember bonney latched on to. robin who cut her hair and put on a dark dress so she could look similar to her childhood self. and bonney, who is finally comfortable and safe enough to look her real age
You know how I know Shanks is toxic with a capital T? Because as soon as bro pulls up to where his exes are at:
One of them IMMEDIATELY leaves as soon as he sees his face. You could not threaten him enough to breathe the same air as that homeless looking man. 😭
Meanwhile, the other is more upset by him pulling up than he is by all the other traumatic events he just went through in a literal WAR. Buggy doesn't have post traumatic stress disorder, he has post traumatic Shanks disorder. 💀
If cellphones were a thing in the One Piece universe they would both have Shanks' number saved as "do not answer" & I just wanna know exactly what put him in that position.
You know, for as much as bsd has spiraled, I don't think Fyodor's motivations have really changed all that much since we first met him.
He's always hated ability users. A fact which I think a lot of people tend to forget is that most regular people don't know that much about them, except that they were part of the war. They know they exist, but in contexts like the Port Mafia and vaguely aware of the Agency's existence. They're not people who are liked, they have to be watched by the government, and Fyodor's always hated them.
He wants to rid the world of ability users, because he believes they are a sin (despite him being one himself). We don't know why, and I don't want that Tragic Backstory™ because I'm happy hating him as he his now, but that's been the case ever since he tried to have the Agency and Mafia defeat each other. Ever since the movie where he was willing to team up and cause a Gifted Genocide via Gifted Suicide. Also, he's kinda right about Fukuchi's plan being flawed like...yeah, world domination has never worked out well in the past. So him wanting a war against all Gifteds and manipulating Fukuchi to do it actually makes tons of sense, considering what we know about him. He thinks that peace will come as soon as the Gifteds are done with.
In case anybody needs another reason to ship frobin: she's the only straw hat who's name he's never forgotten
thinking about imu as the antithesis of luffy and what he wants to be. imu might be the most powerful person in the world, and yet they must have very little freedom. they could control most of the world, but only from the shadows. their very power is dependent on the world thinking they—the sole ruler of the entire world—don't exist. and to keep something so big a secret must come with a lot of restrictions on what they can and can't do. what imu has is exactly what luffy doesn't want: power at the cost of freedom.
Francis final protocol better be taking Lovecraft out of the fucking ocean and send him and Steinbeck to this damn airport because I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE
No because I don’t think we as a fandom talk enough about the orphanage points system.
Because what the fuck?
What do you mean these kids have to rack up enough points to be able to eat?????
And the one who loses points the most is Atsushi who is already routinely starved.
Like Atsushi had no one, the staff hate him and the kids bully and terrorise him so that they can survive.
It doesn’t matter if he’s actually at fault or not because he’ll never be believed by anyone. It’s why the hammer incident happened because some kids accused him of stealing.
Not only was Atsushi abandoned by his parents but he was never able to rely on anyone. He was terrified and hurting and no one cared.
Everyone around him was using him for their own gain. It didn’t matter if he was hurt because he’s Atsushi.
And that’s been his reality for at minimum 7 years which to put that into perspective is the same amount of time that Chuuya’s been with the Port Mafia.
That’s Fifteen, Stormbringer, the Dragons Head incident, the creation of and the reunion of Soukoku.
That’s insane.
It really says a lot about the “survival of the fittest” mentality of the headmaster.
Just imagine Atsushi trying to save up enough points at the Agency because he doesn’t question that it would be different here.
And everyone having to tell him that he doesn’t have to earn the right to eat or sleep or any other basic necessity.
Which I’m sure all feeds into Atsushi feeling like he needs permission to live.
It’s such a tragic and yet important part of his upbringing that I would love to see explored more.
That and the whole thing of Atsushi not being allowed to own his own possessions and things. And how suddenly having money, having a place to live.
Learning it’s okay that he can buy things and own things without.
Also just the heartbreaking realisation that the only thing that Atsushi has that belonged to him is his ability.
And they took that from him too.
