Was listening to Once Upon a December and became possessed and speedran an AU in my brain of basically where Sora divorces and exiles Judge, and eventually marries Zeff. But Judge returns and this results in the whole family besides Zeff and Sanji being killed. Cue the usual plot of the movie -rolls wrist-
Zoro wants the reward money so he can pay off Nami kjhflk
All in all, I just really wanted to replicate the heartbreaking scene of Anastasia dancing with the memory figment of her father while her family watches :'3
i think chuuya would really like the offsping tbh (and crazy taxi)
The irony of so much of the demon slayer fandom arguing about who is the strongest and who "solos" who when two of the most reoccuring themes in the story are a) people all have something different to bring to the table that can contribute in unforseeable ways and b) some enemies can't be defeated alone and every little thing helps either your companions or your successors accomplish what you couldn't by yourself. If you think about it, there was almost no enemy that tanjiro didn't need help taking down because going it alone wasn't the point
The final fight is literally a testament to that with muzan "soloing" everyone and losing to the combined power of every corps member, even the weakest ones. There were low ranking members holding up nearly every hashira as they fought. One guy just straight up drove a car into muzan, an act requiring no specific skill and a lot of nerve! And it all mattered in the end! Everyone came together to change the outcome!
Creativity, willingness, and the importance of connections are literally major themes!!! That the demons couldn't genuinely cooperate with each other was one of their most fatal flaws!!! Lust for individual power was not the great driving force in any of the heros, only the demons. And every time, it was presented as a major flaw that ultimately ruined them.
atsushi seeing dazai and dazai telling him "i don't know anything, you do" is very important because this is just a clarification of what we already knew: atsushi is intelligent and capable. he holds the answers within himself. at the end of the day, he will be the one to save everyone, and it will be because he was always capable of doing so. even when he himself didn't believe it
Previous Part: Part ½
<Thanks for lovely cover page @bsduwu)
Sorry it took me so long but I finally finished the first half of the au novel that was included as a bonus in the DVD/BD of the anime. The novel is called Gakuen Bungou Stray Dogs (Bungou Stray Dogs School) and is consisted of 2 parts, the first half is included in DVD/BD Vol 2 and the second half is in Vol 8. It is about 80 pages in total. It has also been adapted into a story in the game Bungou Stray Dogs: Tales of the Lost so you may find the story familiar.
Below is some of the notes I would like to read before proceeding.
- Please buy the DVD/BD to support the authors if you can.
- I don’t mind if you use bits of it for analysis or credits, but do not repost the whole thing out of Tumblr.
- Feel free to retranslate it if you want, but keep in mind that my translation is not perfect as I am not fluent in neither English nor Japanese.
- I am translating casually at my pace so I can’t promise when the next part will come out. But I will make time for it when I can.
That’s it. Happy reading!
Continuar lendo
uhh, dazai loses his ability for a day so he can pet the big cat <3
Sometimes we forget how much Kyouka's story and character are fucking heartbreaking 🥲
Saw a diva in this sweater yesterday and had to draw Atsushi in it, then the art escalated from there! Happy Valentines day!!
BSD ch. 121 spoilers undercut
The more Fyodor seems to very intentionally torture Atsushi the more certain I am that he's trying to push Atsushi into a certain psychological state of mind needed to act as the Bookmark. This one panel stood out to me cause it seemed like Fyodor was trying coax this specific reaction out of him. I don't think he's just taking immense pleasure from Atsushi's suffering for the fun of it, I think he wants him angry. He wants him broken. He wants...well something from Atsushi which is why he keeps pushing.
He's made sure that Atsushi bore witness to the deaths of everyone he cared about. He ripped up the hope of saving him right in his face. And in the very next scene he also commands Ame no Gozen to kill Akutagawa as well. He's very much trying to provoke something out of Atsushi. The tiger itself maybe?
kinda thinking about Gin again… Naomi’s a whole lot like Naomi from Naomi, but we dunno much about Gin at all. they even took away her cross in the anime. is she christian at all? why’s she so important when she’s surrounded by others who are genuine authors? i’ve seen people say she’s from o-gin from the eng+jp fandoms alike, and it’s more likely than not that she is, but why? why include her? why not add another author instead? if they just wanted someone meaningful to Akutagawa, Kikuchi Kan woulda worked, right? why Gin?????
thinking about imu as the antithesis of luffy and what he wants to be. imu might be the most powerful person in the world, and yet they must have very little freedom. they could control most of the world, but only from the shadows. their very power is dependent on the world thinking they—the sole ruler of the entire world—don't exist. and to keep something so big a secret must come with a lot of restrictions on what they can and can't do. what imu has is exactly what luffy doesn't want: power at the cost of freedom.
