family issues
Hmmm. Desi person weighing in. I have read Lore Olympus and Trials of Apollo.
In Trials of Apollo, Apollo is depicted as a God of many talents who was unlucky with love, yet his attitude towards others could somewhat lead to this failure in finding love. He is seen as someone who admired mortal aptitude for the arts yet was also someone who thought of mortals and demigods as things to observe like a human observing a gerbil. He comes to admire the bravery that demigods show and also realises that even among places like Olympus and the island of Delos he has never really had a place he could truly call "Home" and his family is quite disfunctional.
Artemis is seen as someone who simply doesn't feel romantic love but understands it's power. She is not comfortable with skin-ship yet will try to comfort her brother when she can.
Zeus is seen as a somewhat manipulating person who holds his own interests first as he feels that they are logical this must be respected.
Piper McLean, daughter of Aphrodite, sees and despises how her mother is underestimated. She tries her best to understand her mother and does respect her intentions.
For this, I do respect how Riordan has portrayed the Olympians and the original PJO series has little to do with the Olympians and more with the specific demigods and their stories. So I don't think he deserves the flak. Rachel is something else entirely.

I HATE PEOPLE FUCKING POSTING ABOUT THE GREEK GODS
The next time I see someone say Hades is "actually a cinnamon roll" I am starting a fucking fight. No. Fuck no. Go fuck yourself. The popularization of actual deities as silly little characters is disgusting and go take a minute to learn about hellenic culture and religion please and thanks.
The gods are not fun characters for you to assign whatever personalities you want to. Just about every media representation of the hellenic gods is so far off it's not even recognizable. You wanna talk about the gods' personalities then go listen to some hellenic pagans and polytheists who can offer more modern but still respectful answers
I feel like islamophobia in the lgbt+ community, especially from white people, is something that is often overlooked
but as a muslim lesbian...it hurts. it's alienating. you're harming us when you say religion can't coexist with our identities because islam is as much a part of my identity as being a non-binary lesbian is!
there are plenty of legitimate criticisms to be made about white christianity and it's weaponization against the lgbtq+ community, but lumping muslims in with that is so harmful
the same people who persecute lgbt+ people also persecute muslim people, and if you can't see us as your allies or fellow community members, then you have some islamophobic views to work out
and before you tell me that muslims don't accept lgbt+ people, I'd like to mention that I have come out to multiple mujtahids (religious leaders at ismaili mosques) in my lifetime and they have all welcomed me
for every white lgbt+ person who doesn't accept my faith, there is a muslim who accepts my sexuality and gender identity
do better. because this is our community too.
People keep comparing Starship to SaturnV, because tentatively, if it ever became a space worthy vessel and orbital delivery vehicle (it's not); it'd be the largest and most powerful one in history, with SaturnV its only near peer (sorry, N-1, you really didn't qualify).
And the first "integration test vehicle" (read: the actually whole complete thing, that's literally the point of that kind of test; it's meant to be all the pieces, already tested and proven on their own, finally assembled into the final thing to make sure everything plays nice when together)
So lets see how did Saturn family development go in comparison? How many "integration test vehicles" did the Saturn project obliterate in the process?
ZERO. They blew up ZERO Saturn first stages, ZERO Saturn second stages, and ZERO Saturn payloads.
It's not fucking normal to blow up rockets this size and complexity, because they're expensive and dangerous! You build SMALLER, SIMPLER prototypes, you test those, you do all the "risky" tests on your separate parts of the system, and test the integration at less ambitious scales and stress levels. That's how you do rocket science. Iteratively, yes! But the iterations must make sense!
And let me stress
SpaceX exists at a time where they can (and should) do 90% of the raw, grueling development with lot of painful failures in digital simulations, or tests where you build a small, simple thing and enhance the simulation based on what you learned there.
Saturn and other projects paved the worst of this goddamn slog. They did all the dirty, awful work already. They literally gave us the textbooks that you study from if you actually get a science degree (Elon does not have one).
And again, the most embarrassing thing isn't Musk and his poor, toxic, overworked circus that's SpaceX. The most embarrassing thing is the "space science enthusiast" crowd that's cheering on this launch as some sort of tentative success.
Athena headed out of Zeus's cranium.
so athena burst out fully born from zeus's skull, right?
"Excuse me, but I wanted to say-"
No, why would I excuse you for interrupting me? You dug this pit of snakes now go slither inside with them.
My mom's energy towards me when I was 5
#anya forger being dramatic 😂
Ah, how nice to see the problem spelt out with coherence. I agree with this. Love the vibe not the likes.
this whole situation is very funny
credit to @cryptvokeeper for the idea!
My brains is so strong. Holy shit another THOUGHT IS COMINGGGGG HHHH RAHHHHHHHHHGHHGHGG
Indian woman here. What the fuck? No, Indian men aren't all animals. Not all of them are that bad. And this exact approach is what makes them so isolated and willing to assault us. There's 1.4 billion Indians. Are you generalising all of them as rapists? Are you that fucking dumb? Everybody hears about the rapes and they should, those are horrible and the perpetrators should be punished. What you don't hear is how the other men themselves band together to lynch or mob or arrest or hunt down these other rapists. Yes, there’s a lot of cases. Yes, the misogyny is bad. But the number is due to our high population. And men and women work to make sure these cases aren't covered. So hate these rapists all you want, you absolutely should, but don't do it on race, because you're indirectly also insulting the characteristics of their victims and the people who were close to them and are trying so hard to seek justice. Don't hate them because they're Indian. Hate them because they're not worthy of being called Indian at all.
idc what anyone says you guys should definitely hate on all indian men ♥️ its not fucking racist when all u indian men do is gangrape women every 20 seconds
