i have so many emotions about One Riko Moriyama, because on one hand i hate him so much but in the other hand, every single time he appeared in the book i just...loved it. cause he added this tension and always progressed the plot. it was just so good yknow? like he’s a little bastard and if he were real i’d hate his guts on i instinct but as a character/ piece of fiction, i find him really interesting to think about. anyways:your thoughts? not just on this but like, riko in general?

riko moriyama is a little bitch and i hate him, but i absolutely agree with that. he’s a terrible person and i was almost as excited as neil when he died, but i also absolutely loved the almost feral side of neil he brought out. riko prompted so many iconic lines, and i was genuinely excited when i got to scenes that had him in them. that could be because i’m a sucker for angst

overall, i hate riko in terms of actual qualities. he wasn’t even a villain i could sympathize with, because he just genuinely enjoyed causing pain and terror for no other reason than that it was fun. but i loved the added angst and drama he brought to the series, it definitely enhanced some of aftg’s best qualities and made it that much more interesting

Do I Outline: HAHHA i wish i was that organized. i normally have a one sentence blurb to remind me of the vibe of the fic, and sometimes i’ll add bullet points of important things i don’t want to forget, but i rarely actually outline

How Many of My Stories are Complete: out of my published works, three of the four are complete

In Progress: four, but i only have solid plans to post one of them

daily aftg hc: people talk about neil falling asleep all the time around the foxes, but no. see, i raise you a more accurate andrew falling asleep. not with the foxes, obviously, but with neil. constantly. when they get their own apartment, neil cannot sit down with andrew for more than five minutes before he is a body pillow. when they're standing together waiting for coffee, and andrew is glaring at the sun like it's targeting him specifically, neil will just lightly touch his hair and let him lean against his chest. in about three seconds he's dead weight. neil has to fill out a whole mental checklist to make sure he has everything done (going to the bathroom, eating, etc.) before going to sit with andrew on the couch because he knows he won't be getting up until andrews done with his nap

isn't it funny how this looks like two different characters? oh yeah because you have to change him that much just to make him likeable

how terrifying do you think it was for kevin to get a phone call from riko during christmas break while neil was at evermore? do you think his heart skipped a beat when he saw the caller ID? do you think he stared in shock and tried to fight off a panic attack while his mind spiralled to worst-case scenarios? what do you think kevin thought riko was calling for? to bring kevin back? to tell him that he took things with neil too far? to say that neil signed the contract and wouldn’t be coming back? or that he passed him off to nathan and neil was gone forever?

how do you think he reacted when riko told him that he’d inked neil? that he hadn’t passed neil off to nathan, but he might as well have? that he was practically painting a target directly onto him and begging someone to take aim? how worried do you think he was? how relieved when neil came back, harmed but alive? 

and most of all, how hard do you think it was for him to try and keep it together when he knew how it would eventually end for his smart-mouthed, runaway recruit with worlds of potential?

neil “i’m fine” josten telling wymack after coming back from evermore that no, no, he’s not alright just... pierces my heart every time i think about it. you can really see how much neil’s grown by how he finally begins to trust someone other than himself or his mom. he puts himself in such a vulnerable position when he reaches out, especially by asking for help from an older man (given his past). and the way that wymack drops everything during winter break to immediately rush to the airport, i just- 

jerejean fics are so much fun to read bc in aftg the characters more or less roll with the hits and just kind of accept what’s going on, and it doesn’t seem that out of the ordinary when you read it, but then you see how jeremy reacts to jean’s stories in the fanfics and it’s like... oh right... that’s actually probably how a normal person would react in this scenario

hc that neil and andrew develop the habit of softly singing their own versions of “these are a few of my favourite things” to themselves or each other on bad days

i have seen the phrase "book hangover" in reference to that feeling after you first read AFTG for the first time. so i ask the fandom, how long was everyones' hangovers for this wrecking-ball of a series?

mine was just about 12 months i think
