Alright so I pretty much said all of this verbatim on a reblog of someone else's post, but I wanted to put it here on my blog too.
As I've mentioned before, I would *very* much like to see Peri canonically having a disability that causes him to use his wand/cane and not just have it be an accessory, and so I analyzed the episodes he's in that I've been able to see so far and came up with a few observations:
As much as I'd be unopposed to seeing it portrayed, leg issues don't really seem like a major deal to fairies in general given as Cosmo misplaced his for most of an episode and a pair of sticks were a good enough replacement for him to have fun at the arcade in human form (without even drawing human attention)
And Peri can apparently use his powers as listed above without his cane since he doesn't always immediately have it on his person (especially since Dev & Hazel took his cane in Lost in Fairy World and he didn't have any power or mobility problems)
But!
I *could* easily see him having some kind of magical fatigue issue or magical equivalent of hypotonia or balance disorder, since he's shown to be
very tired after a morning spent magically creating cupcakes (a probably small but very repetitive task that leaves him running low on energy)
When his stationary float is disrupted he remains seated instead of floating back up again
3. A minor contact/startle reflex is enough to disrupt his hover and cause him to immediately fall pretty hard if not very far
4. speaking of distance, he is shown to sometimes float a bit lower than his parents, which, while not consistent and likely just an animation choice, could tie in with the other points to support the diagnosis theory
However, pain may admittedly be more of a factor than the above images suggest,
he may not just be tired from shape shifting like I'd thought since right before that he was walking (albeit in horse form) and afterwards (low) cloud float is apparently easier and faster for him than just quickly trotting past his parents
He also didn't really seem to be having too much of a problem at all before he hit the ground
Where it goes to a definitely tired and possibly more pained look.
Maybe he didn't want to tell Dev that it was painful either out of pride or because he didn't want to potentially upset him and just went with "tired" because that was what he assumed. It'd be interesting to see if it happens again in a different form.
Personally I think it'd be cool to see both and have it be a chronic condition (directly magical or otherwise) that he already had before the series began (diagnosed or not).
If he's the first fairy kid born in a long time he probably would have been monitored very closely, but it may have taken a while for doctors to notice a problem since there was little reference for comparison and may have even caused some potentially serious problems that gave Comso & Wanda a bad scare, which could tie in pretty well with their developing a high amount of over protectiveness of him, and that in turn leading him to try and behave too far in the other direction (not seeking help when he really does need it, pushing himself way too hard and suffering the fallout which he then tries to hide, ect)
If he's undiagnosed but having the problems it could be interesting to see sort of an inversion of the "character must learn to accept their disability" storyline wherein he's more connecting certain events & symptoms and we get to see him adapting to accommodations and letting himself try different approaches moreso than to having new symptoms (though we as the audience may see these symptoms more or behaviors contextualized as symptoms where they weren't necessarily before).
Idk either way I just think it would be cool (and I've probably put away more analysis into this than will ever pay off lol)
also to everyone who draws him as a disabled mobility device user: ILY please draw more of it it feeds my soul

Okay, here the tea:
in our creating writing class (that only had 6 students cuz HUMSS) our teacher Mx. G, ( yes they ask to call them that.) to make a short poem about something we like, I like a lot so I cut it into 3: Music, Literature, Arts. So I made one each and pick one, I pick the music one. why am I telling you this? well, the 2nd one is about Literature and is reminded me of Karl's time-traveling/ Tales from the SMP.

Secret Princes Wilbur and Tommy AU
the sleepy bois are the ruling family of the antarctic empire, which is one of the largest and strongest kingdoms in the world
it goes king phil, crown prince technoblade, and princes wilbur and tommy
the royal family has a tradition where, in order to connect with their people and learn other cultures, each member of the royal family will leave to travel the world at age 15 with one or two trusted people. when tommy turns 15 he leaves with wilbur
the point of this journey is that no one knows theyre the princes, so they just dont tell anybody and like walk or ride horseback everywhere.
they send a letter home at least once a week to let their family know theyre safe and where they are.
they pick up tubbo somewhere along the way and he & tommy become best friends and he travels with them
they dont tell him anything for a while but once theyre sure they can trust him they do
he figured it out a long ass time ago tho lmao
so they travel as a trio for a while
shortly after tommy turns 16 they come upon the lands of the dream smp
they send a letter back to phil saying theyre gonna stop there for a while and then continue on later
and then the letters just stopped
phil & tech get like. SUPER WORRIED bc theyve lost all contact with their family
so they decide to go there themselves and send a messenger ahead of them asking for an urgent diplomatic meeting.
(meanwhile wilbur decided Hey Drugs Are Nice Actually and started a revolution bc he wanted to sell them and just,,,,, forgot,,,,,, about sending letters back home)
by the time phil & techcno got worried enough to go find them the whole election had gone down so theyre exiled and in pogtopia when they get there
the people who show up to the meeting are dream, eret (since theyre technically King), and schlatt and his cabinet (george quackity and tubbo)
phil calls the meeting to order and tells them that his eldest and youngest sons had gone on their Journey and that the last theyd been heard from was in this area, so “If anyone has heard anything about my sons, Princes Wilbur and Tommy, please, we haven’t heard from them in months.”
chaos ensues
tubbo just spends this whole meeting holding back laughter bc this is honestly so funny to him
dreams like “oh fuck i SHOT the prince of the antarctic empire”
schlatt is trying to think of ways to turn this in his favor
tubbo pipes up “hi mr king philza i know where they are! i’m tubbo!”
and phil lights up like “oh tubbo! my sons have told me so much about you!”
(quack george & eret are just sitting in shocked silence the whole time)
so the meeting comes to an end and tubbo offers to go get the two missing princes while everyone else waits in manburg
so word got out that the king and crown prince of the antarctic empire were paying the smp a visit and so theyve attracted a bit of a crowd
(its basically everyone who wasnt in the meeting)
everyone who was there is still kinda in shock so no one says anything
phil & techno (but mostly phil bc “oh no social situations”) talk to the people of manburg while waiting on tubbo and phil gets into a conversation with niki about whats been going down around here. he learns about all the war & election stuff from her.
meanwhile she is INCREDIBLY curious about why theyre here and no ones said anything yet but she doesnt want to ask bc yknow. royal family & all
and then techno is rugby tackled by a flying tommy. like “teeeeEEEEEECHNOOOOOOO” B A M
everyone around them is like. horrified. bc techno being techno has a reputation for his battle prowess and bloodthirstiness so theyre like “oh god is he going to be murdered”
but no. phil just busts a gut laughing at the boys on the ground while techno complains in his typical deadpan tone
tommy starts rambling at techno and about a minute later here comes wilbur & tubbo.
they see the sheer confusion happening and tubbos like “did you not tell them??” phil: “and miss out on this? no way”
(phil can have a little chaos. as a treat)
after phil stops laughing he pries tommy off of techno and pulls both his missing boys into a hug like “oh god i was so worried you didnt write for months i didnt know if you were even alive” and they both feel so guilty and apologise and they just hug for a minute
(tommy grabs techno & drags him in too)
and when phil’s done reassuring himself that his boys are ok he does a COMPLETE 180. he grabs them both by the ear like “now whats this i hear about you starting wars in foreign countries??? i taught you better than to start shit with potential allies!!”
everyone around them is so fuckin confused. niki’s just like “uh,,,, tubbo? do you know whats going on?”
he just casually says “oh i forgot you guys didnt know! yeah tommy and wilbur are princes of the antarctic empire”
“.......WHAT”
wilbur & tommy get scolded for a solid 20 minutes while the entire population of manburg goes through the realization that these idiots are royalty. fundy & niki get over it the quickest & fundy decides to be a lil shit
(so in this au fundy isnt really wilburs son but instead he’s accidentally called wilbur dad MULTIPLE TIMES so its become a running joke between the members of the former l’manburg that fundy is his son)
so after the Scolding he walks up to wilbur like “hey DAD why dont you introduce me to my grandpa?”
wilburs like “FUNDY NO- ugh dad this is our friend fundy. he keeps calling me dad by mistake so now we call him my son as a joke”
“..... i cant believe im already a grandfather” (tommy laughs so hard he falls over again)
techno and phil can’t stay for too long after they make sure everything is okay so they stay for like a week to get to know will & tommy’s friends (and techno does a bit of Threatening @ dream & schlatt so they stop with the serious fighting shit)
they also do some ~~~~politics talk~~~~ to smooth everything over bc like. they DID start a revolution in a foreign country
tommy gets his discs back as part of it but phil immediately takes them away for the rest of the time he’s there
will & tommy decide they want to stay at least a little while longer bc they have friends there and dont want to leave quite yet. phil lets them but they have to promise not to start any more wars and schlatt decides to be smart for once and revokes the banishment so its mostly,,, well not peaceful bc this IS the dream smp but theres not any more big wars at least
and at some point everyone goes to visit the antarctic empire and see where tommy & wilbur grew up and realize how COLD it is there

Im still thinking up to this day that why I didn't open up to my parents yet
opinions on tsukasa tenma
buckle your fucks up.
"EVENTS, DISSOCIATION, SEGA."
contrary to popular belief, i genuinely think that tsukasa hasn't been overlooked by sega. at this point, after the "on the stage of dazzling light" event, it can definitely be assumed the sega knew what they were doing. he's been heavily dissociated through a lot of the events, and though a lot of people took that as sega being comedic, i dont think that's the case. in those scenarios, everyone around him looks uncomfortable. this all kind of came to a hilt with the new event. i think his group has finally fully realised how messed up his thinking is; rui definitely being taken aback by seeing this side of him. he dissociates through a lot of his day, and the constant muttering, quietness and panic in his tone through a lot of the event is almost unlike anything we've ever seen before. tsukasa isn't comic relief to sega, i don't believe. he's a funny character, but in the moments i've mentioned, he's an example of how laughing at an uncomfortable scenario will make you regret it.
tsukasa's memory issues have been played as a joke for the majority of the game's run time, as have his dissociation issues. but seeing rui's expression of pure unsettled concern when tsukasa abruptly stops the rehearsal session is definitely a step in the direction that sega wants to properly persue. when tsukasa stops that rehearsal session, his line delivery wasn't perfect but it was better than last time. however, he calls the stop because of his panic in not getting it perfect. he is, above all things, a perfectionist when it comes to his acting. he's used to playing the roles that he's good at, so he can perfect them better. but with the role of torpe, he's thrown right back into a panicked state of not being able to perfect an aspect something he's good at. in a softer voice than we've practically ever seen, tsukasa practically mumbles to rui "how do i put this..? it's like i can only feel [the role] on a surface level, or... something like that?" - tsukasa tenma, using elipses, and being very unsure of himself. tsukasa tenma, using elipses, and being very unsure of himself.
sega has obviously been wanting to do this for a long while, and i think it's a gross oversimplication to say he's been 'overlooked' or 'played for laughs'. because yes, he does funny (sometimes quite idiotic) things. but emu's event was unsettling. it made me very viscerally uncomfortable to see tsukasa fail at making someone smile and then - for the rest of the event - seem hollower and dissociated. i personally believe it's because the person he couldn't make smile was a young girl crying, just like saki. it must have shaken him up. but thats my speculation. for reference, rui even mentioned it in the white day event. "tsukasa-kun's been seeming off since we got back from america, but he seems alright now". that's a decent amount of time, and then he recovered from it. and then, a few weeks in-game time later, he gets thrown through a bigger loop, and immediately reverts into that hollow, dissociated state, where he's trying to stay grounded, but obviously is lost in his own mind. sega has been setting this up, that's definite.
"ASAHINA, SEKAIS, SHOWTIME."
tsukasa, as a character, is heavily... confusing, i think. mostly because his biggest parallel is to mafuyu. which, conscious effort from sega or not, is a big part of why he's being 'overlooked' in some aspects. i mean, honestly, mafuyu is equally as overlooked as tsukasa. both characters can be simplified down to 'annoying' if you don't understand them well enough. but they're two sides of the same coin. mafuyu does everything please her parents, so much so that she's lost any identity she had. tsukasa is desperate to make saki smile because she deserves it, so much so that he never really had time to formulate an identity. sure, tsukasa loves shows. he loves performing. he is passionate about a lot. on the other hand, mafuyu doesn't like or dislike much. she doesn't feel intense emotion like tsukasa obviously does. but what we see from tsukasa are emotions that aren't forced, but are most DEFINITELY not organic. he performs and reacts in ways that are meant to make people, of course including himself, smile. his silly, stupid actions of over the top yelling make emu smile, and make himself smile. he acts outraged at rui, which makes rui talk more about his passions, which makes them both happy. but it's all done with an intention that is at it's core entirely selfless. which is why mafuyu and tsukasa are so easy to compare - they are both so painfully like each other in such different ways that tsukasa would be terrified of becoming like mafuyu to the point where he digs himself further into the hole he's in to prove a point and mafuyu is so confused by tsukasa it would draw her into performative happiness to a more intense extent. but, because of their drastic dissociation, mafuyu and tsukasa aren't getting any development, as that would cause the sekais to change drastically.
so, let's talk about the sekais. the sekais of both mafuyu and tsukasa are... drastic. and i'll save the take about mafuyu for another day. but sekais are created from the emotions never expressed. from intense feelings. tsukasa's sekai. is. fucking. horrific. an infinite world that is EVER-EXPANDING, filled with things that he has suppressed_ or not truly comprehended. saki's plushies are there, idealised versions of himself (kaito) are there, as is never-ending idealistic scenery of a childish happiness he never really got to experience. for a lot of his childhood, it's implied he's been looking after saki. always caring for her, wanting to make her smile. it makes sense, when you think about it, that the origin of his dream to be a star would fade out - he doesn't want to comprehend that everything he does is for someone else. tsukasa tenma, when alone, is quieter, and more spaced out. but when he's in the sekai, even just with the virtual singers or a plushie, his instinct to aid others kicks in and that performative happiness - well, half performative, he's happy - rears its head. the sekai is a culmination of everything he's ever suppressed, and when i realised that 'what he's suppressed' is just his childhood, my outlook on him changed completely.
the odd thing about sekais is that they can be group made or personal. and the wonderland sekai never clears that up. its heavily personal, with vague group flairs. but if you really look at it, its just personal. the virtual singers manifest in tsukasa's perceptions of others. miku as emu, kaito as himself - it's another parallel between mafuyu and tsukasa. in reality, tsukasa's emotions and perceptions are so heavily suppressed and warped, they have created an entire pocket dimension. and regarding that, the other members of wonderlands never seem to comment on it. it could be out of discomfort, or simply out of not truly understanding. the other members of wonderlands each seem to express different opinions of tsukasa. nene seems to like him, and be truly concerned, but never enough to stop him and calm him down. emu definitely likes him, and is concerned, though tends to not brings things up. and rui. he notices the issues, but lets them sit due to his own belief that he is unable to help. that is a problem for another day! but its interesting, because none of wxs ever talk about the issues they see. they express discomfort, all the way up until tsukasa is acting ‘normal’ again. they obviously care for one another deeply, and who can blame them for not acting on what tsukasa is displaying - its hard to help someone who doesn’t want to be helped.
i have a lot more to say on tsukasa but i do not want to go on forever-
all around, i believe he’s a silly funky man with a lot of concerning aspects to his character! <3 much love to tsukasa.
