do you think wilson packed his own hoodie into house's psych ward luggage on purpose
dont get mad at me. but i think if house and wilson got together way earlier in their lives, house would still let wilson be with/marry other women with the full knowledge and understanding that wilson will cheat on them with him because house uses this to measure his importance to wilson and how wilson will always choose him over everything and everyone else. its like a really sad mindgame that gives him the feeling of power and control in their relationship so he doesnt intentionally sabotage it out of fear that wilson will end it first, thereby taking the control out of his hands. and house justifies it to himself as a win/win either way because he knows wilson will always put him first, or if wilson ever puts his wife first, house can say he always knew wilson was never going to commit to him in the end and that's why he never committed, either. u know
in queer reading wilson's heteronormative tendencies in season 1 episode 18 "babies and bathwater":
i really love this scene for two reasons, the first being that it exposes the deeper, underlying devotion between house and wilson, and secondly - which is entirely up to interpretation and a tad bit of delusional theorizing - is wilson's interesting reaction.
yes, he's reasonably upset, but why take a jab at his relationship with house by calling it a "stupid, screwed-up friendship"?
house didn't ASK him to defend him against vogler. furthermore, wilson was given the OPTION to quit, which he took; he was only fired from the board, but not from his job. at the time, house's speech really had no relevance to wilson, as it moreso affected house's ducklings. so why the wording?
let's consider the things wilson lists out before: 1) having kids, 2) marriage, and 3) having a successful/stable job. the three expectations of living a, dare i say, heteronormative lifestyle.
i think the subsequent criticism of his relationship with house is a response to losing the only aspect of the aforementioned lifestyle wilson had, which is a stable occupation.
wilson's frustration is a raw emotional reaction, and thus you can interpret his actions as a result of projecting his frustrated confusion through blame. almost like he's wondering why he himself would place his loyalty and devotion to house over something "normal."
sort of a delusional and stretch of a take but i like thinking about this scene in this way sometimes.
love House MD because House is the MAIN CHARACTER at that hospital and there's no attempt to hide this. as the viewer you are fully aware that those nurses in the elevator are just extras. the boss's entire schedule consists of yelling at him. the head of oncology would rather prescribe him controlled meds and flirt than practice oncology. his team's only desires are to fuck him and strangle him, often at the same time. every other doctor at the hospital might as well be a cardboard cutout.
the walls are glass, the better to see him through. he limps around, commits malpractice, and serves cunt.
long live mid-2000s TV.
wilson is so repressed he probably insists he can't be gay because he didn't like when an ex wife tried pegging him once but he doesn't mention that he moaned house's name during and then she beat him over the head with the strap-on
if anything this just gives more weight to my scent kink wilson theory/headcanon. am i crazy…. is this insane….
