imagining a world where eddie's sisters come to visit after he is back in LA. since eddie and chris are living with buck now, buck is getting nervous and offers to spend the week at maddie and chim's place so he is out of the way. eddie tells him No and shuts down the argument immediately. buck is spiraling because he needs adriana and sophia to like him, so he reverts to what he knows best.... eddie :). after his 5th story bragging about how great eddie is, adriana is like wait... we are still talking about our brother eddie, right? and buck sighs dreamily like, yeah, he's the best person i know. do you like poker? he is really good at it. and basketball! and muy thai.... and adriana and sophia are nodding in disbelief because all they know is loser eddie, and yet buck is acting like eddie personally hung each star in the sky by himself. they bring it up to eddie later like, dude, buck is OBSESSED with you. eddie just laughs. we are just Best Friends :). that's what Best Friends do. so sophia and adriana just nod slowly as they give each other Looks because their brother is literally the stupidest person on the planet.

okay, so it's bothering me a little how a lot of people are talking about ryan's acting, and i wanted to give my two cents on it.

for me, it's pretty clear where ryan is going with his acting choices, especially after what he said on the podcast. but for some reason, people are acting as if eddie's lack of emotion is just ryan being a bad actor. i might agree with that in other scenarios, but this time? no. i’d say that even though his performance isn’t oscar-worthy, he's still doing a great job portraying what’s happening with eddie.

which is: he's repressing the hell out of his feelings.

and we can see that—there are a few instances where his mask slips.

when he learns that buck is going to sublet his house, he can't keep his emotions at bay. in my opinion, he realizes in that moment that he has someone who genuinely loves him and would do anything for him, which just makes things even harder. so, he tries to repress his feelings even more.

when buck brings up the subject of him moving again while they’re searching for maddie, his façade almost slips when he says, "it isn't nothing." but again, he pushes his feelings down. it’s obvious he’s exhausted from thinking about it and fighting about it with buck.

and finally, when they say goodbye, ryan does something so subtle that if you blink, you’d miss it—eddie’s smile falters just a little, and his eyebrow twitches while they’re hugging.

so yeah, it’s obvious that eddie is going through it and trying his hardest to keep his feelings locked away. to really understand eddie right now, it's important to keep in mind what ryan said in that podcast about reading between the lines—and also remember that while buck is really expressive with his feelings, eddie is the complete opposite.

I'm so annoyed that most of Eddie and Chris' relationship has been off-screen this season. What happened to the bunch of facetime calls that were supposed to happen??

Last we saw, Chris couldn't stand to talk to his own father, and suddenly, he's supposedly okay with Eddie moving to Texas?!

This entire storyline has been handled so badly from the beginning of season 8! I get that they're limited with Gavin, but surely they could've got him to film a reaction to Eddie telling him this?!

Another excellent luke x lorelai scene I want to see with buddie is them being disgustingly in love and bickering in the kitchen and rory listening to it all on the phone and just saying "go back to your dirtiness bye" 💓 gimme all the domestic fluff! (we could start with roommate fluff actually)

Ooo or Luke pulling loralie aside to flirt with her while she’s joking abt how he won’t flirt with her in front of Rory and it’s making her look uncool etc like that’s soooo Eddie at work or in front of the firefam and co with buck being the loralie in this situation

(unrelated side note the funniest scenario is Eddie acting unhinged the minute they get together and going from 0 to let’s fuck at the station)

Also with Eddie in fact being in Texas I think I mentioned it before but do you remember after Luke and loralie made up and they’re going on their first date back together and she finds a Jamaican music cd and she’s like it’s so weird to think there was this whole period we were apart yada yada then she jokes “clearly you were lost without me…right?” In this like reassurance seeking way and Luke immediately clocks it and reassures her? THIS TYPE OF SCENE?? Scrumptious like idc if technically these guys haven’t been without eachother in any way but physical proximity theyre THAT dramatic
