Geralt + Protecting Jaskier

Whumpee played with their fingers anxiously, trying to get the strength to go to Caretaker.

They kept thinking about it. Almost a week ago, the nightmares had them up and screaming. Caretaker had come in, pulling Whumpee to their chest and carding their fingers through their hair, singing them to sleep.

That was some of the best sleep they’d had in a while. The reoccurring nightmares made them crave every single feeling of that night again.

They just wanted to have a peaceful night of sleep.

“Alright Whumpee, I’m heading to bed, you need anything?”

Whumpee was knocked out of their stupor, trying to catch up with what Caretaker said. “W- I’m sorry, what?”

Caretaker gave them a friendly smile. “I asked if you needed anything?” They then came closer, resting their hands on top of Whumpee’s fidgeting fingers. “Is everything alright?”

They opened their mouth, trying to form the words. The worst thing they could say was no, right? It really isn’t, a little voice in their head told them.

“Uh, can...” Whumpee couldn’t bring themself to ask. “Never mind, never mind, sorry to bother you Caretaker. Goodnight.”

Caretaker gently grabbed their arm as they turned. “Hey, what is it? You can ask me anything.”

“Uh, well-“ they took a deep breath. “CanIlaywithyoutonight?”

“Um... a little slower?”

Whumpee swallowed harshly. Then, in a voice no higher then a mumble, they spoke: “my, er, my nightmares are getting really bad. Can- can I lay with you?” Frantically, they added. “It doesn’t even have to be all night, it can be for like, twenty minutes, or you can just say no, it’s-“

They were cut off by Caretaker gently cupping their face. “Baby, you don’t even have to ask.”

Whumpee tried to blink back their tears. “I just didn’t want to disturb you.”

“You could never.” They then grabbed Whumpee’s hand. “You must be tired, come along.” They pulled them into the room, closing the door and turning off the light.

They crawled into the bed, Caretaker holding them in a spooning position, one hand in their hair and the other wrapped around their torso.

Their fingers fan gently through the locks of hair, making Whumpee melt in their fingertips.

“Goodnight Whumpee. I love you.”

The exhaustion of the last few nights quickly caught up to them, making Whumpee’s eyelids heavy. “I love you too.” They were out moments after.

me, with a vague plot idea, 1 (one) character name, and an outline that consists of mostly question marks:

*sweeps all of my AU ideas under the rug* why must I be called out this way?

i’m watching an art theft documentary and they’re interviewing this art history professor from new york who was asked to go with the fbi to authenticate a rubens that had been stolen but it was a sting operation so they had to pretend like they weren’t the fbi, that they were some private buyer about to pay $3.5 million for it, and the fbi was like “this is a VERY delicate operation because you never know how they will react to what you have to say so let the agent do all of the talking, don’t say a word to anyone just nod if it’s the rubens, the last operation we did the guy in your position got shot because things went wrong in a second” and then it cuts to the professor’s interview and he says “i wasn’t going to fly down to miami to be a part of an undercover fbi sting operation to handle what could be rubens’s aurora and just NOT say anything. i was gonna have to ad lib a little” and then he tells the interviewer that when he & the fbi agent got to the hotel while he was examining the painting he started lecturing the other people, first on how badly they had wrapped it, and then about like how it had been painted, the history of it, what the subject was and what she was doing, etc etc, and he was like “i hadn’t taught a class on rubens in 15 years, so for me it was like being back in the classroom except my students couldn’t leave” 

Hey guys! Sorry I’ve been kinda mia for a bit- I’m still here, just lacking inspiration.

I’m gonna try to post a bit more often if I can jdjdjsjs you guys are amazing.

Whump idea

Whumpee who will prioritise literally anything over themselves.

Broken glass and their hand is cut up, dripping everywhere? Clean up first, then the hand. Extremely tired after a stress position, aching joints begging to relax? They need to go to work, rest will come later. They’re sick, unable to move with high fever, fogginess clouding their mind and slowing their tongue? The only reason they’re resting is because caretaker had forcibly put them to bed, after finding them lying halfway down the stairs, pleading with caretaker to let them continue work.

A whumpee who doesn’t care about what happens to them, but becomes petrified over something they fail? Mood.

sickness prompts send a prompt, get a drabble.

right as rain: [character] says they’re fine right before collapsing.

in plain sight: [character] does everything to hide their cold.

snoozeville: [character] falls asleep somewhere that isn’t their bed.

bed bargain: [character A] won’t stay in bed. [character B] convinces them.

please be okay: [character] isn’t feeling well, causing them to act differently.

conversationalist: [character] rambles in their sick state.   

shut up: [character] doesn’t want any reminders about being sick while they recover. 

so dramatic: [character] complains about their cold.

careful care: it’s hard for [character A] to accept help. [character B] knows which care methods are “acceptable”. 

speechless: [character] can’t talk because of a sore throat.

dreamer: [character] talks in their sleep.

vacancy: [character] forgets where they are.

oh no: [character] gets sick at the worst possible moment. 

by your side: [character] is sick and wants company.

whatever: [character] reluctantly accepts help. 

health bar: [character] doesn’t get sick? think again!

moo: [character] isn’t very sick and milks it anyway.

double trouble: [character] is sick and injured. 

manner minded: [character] remembers their good manners while sick. 

all about me: [character] loves the attention they receive while sick. 

error 404: [character] refuses to admit they’re sick.

got germs: [character A] and [character B] are sick.

play the part: [character] pretends to be sick.

but it’s true: [character] has been known to fake being sick, but this time they’re actually sick.
