Hi I am really confused on what is shadow work and you can work on it
Could you please explain it to me
Only if you want tho
Thank anyway ❤
What is Shadow Work?
Shadow Work is a way of consciously confronting your Shadow Self to achieve personal and spiritual growth.
We all have a Shadow Self - it is what we can't clearly see in ourselves. What is hidden to us, what we deny and repress - the 'dark side'. You cannot and shouldn't even try getting rid of your shadow side. It is necessary and not at all bad or evil. But when you ignore it, that is when problems start to come up.
What you should do is get to know your shadow self. Explore, learn and understand your shadow behaviours because it can lead to a much better mental health, overall growth, spiritual awakening, higher energy levels and authenticity.
Our shadow - or the things we repress and try to hide - often comes from childhood trauma and unfortunately, many people don't even realise theirs or they choose to ignore it, because that is much easier. Those could be addictions, restrictive mindset, toxic habits and much more. Only you can recognise your own shadows and actively work on them.
That is what Shadow Work is for. Answering all the uncomfortable questions and facing unhealthy behaviours in ourselves. It is hard work and can take a lot of time, but it is absolutely necessary if you want to become the best version of yourself. So start as soon as you can.

In the end, any offerings you give Him are valid and will be appreciated, as long as you put some thought into it. Don’t worry if you can’t give Him the things you’d like to give Him, He will accept anything that comes from a place of love and devotion.

So, uh, everyone makes mistakes, and sometimes those mistake are putting the audiobook copy of an item on hold instead of the book itself. ✨ Whoops
Anyway, yeah. I really like the content of these kinds of books. It’s not intended to be a “baby’s first spellbook”. It’s a comprehensive look at taking care of yourself that is based witchcraft as the central medium. There are a lot of great self-regulating and self-reflecting exercises in here that really break down the specifics of a task so it’s not just “have you tried journaling? 💁🏼♀️” , which is rarely helpful on its own.
And it’s got recipes.
On one hand, I like a lot of the content. It breaks down a lot of hands-on-craft ideas, like cooking, journaling, preparing bath products, so that they’re easily accessible, and I’m honestly very happy the author does so. The modern world really relies so heavily on thought-heavy and digital processes that hands-on work is undervalued, even when it’s an essential part of stimulating the human brain. On the other hand, I really dislike the amount of essential oils pushed around in the bath product recipes. If you’ve missed out on every post about essential oils…they’re not safe to pick up at the store and just dabble with. Safe dosages are tricky to calculate and deliberate disinformation about the safety of their use is rife across the internet. It was disappointing to see essential oils so prevalent here.
Still, I don’t have any concrete memory of seeing any specific cultural appropriation (but I might have misheard. Audiobooks are hard 😅) and over all I found it extremely effective in delivering an effective dissection on what self care is, why it helps you, and how to try it out in different aspects of your routine. I give it a solid nine out of ten; I really, really recommend it!
Blessings! 💜
Thought I'd make an information / appreciation post on "fake" crystals, using mine as examples. I buy them because I don't mind what something's made of if I think it's pretty 😂 although many people prefer to avoid them. Regardless, it's good to be informed.
Overly saturated, candy-colored agate and quartz tends to be dyed. Howlite is often dyed blue to pass as turquoise.
Opalite and goldstone are glass. While blue and green obsidian can occur naturally, if it looks like glass, it's probably glass 😂
Citrine tends to be heat-treated amethyst, and red tiger's eye also tends to be heat-treated. Very dark smokey quartzs also.
Aura/ rainbow quartzs, rainbow hematite, etc, are coated with different metals to give them their magical looking color shift.
Ingredients:
½ cup Riesling wine (German white wine) 1 egg 2/3 cup flour 1 cup honey 2 tbs sugar 1/8 tsp cinnamon 1/8 tsp nutmeg Dash of salt
Beat the egg together with the wine. In another mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cinnamon, sugar and salt. Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture. Stir until blended through. Let sit for 30 minutes. In another small bowl, mix the honey and nutmeg. In a skillet, heat up about a ½ inch of oil. Drop a tablespoon of batter into the oil and fry until golden brown. Drain off the oil, and dip into the honey mixture.
