Had to do a ref sheet for my little guy for a little contest on instagram so I’m sharing it here as well! All the little details are on my instagram if anyone’s really interested. Yeah well this is Ciidae, Paradises boyfriend.

Ciidae is a beetle wing (cross between a silk and a hive wing but also one of the first tribes before they split into different ones) He is also more affected by the cold as the colour of his scales reflects heat not absorbs it.

He can spin a regular silk, though his antenna are strong enough that he can sense spirits or in other words the dead. His tail is venomous but not venom that kills instead it holds an antidote to venomous venoms and such.

Now. Take your talons, rip open your stomach, and show everyone what you're really like inside. Pour out your life on this stage.

Don't be mad at me for things I might do one day, all right? I'm not evil now. I haven't done any of that. And I probably won't. Will you focus on that, please? Stay in the present with me?

Drawn traditionally then edited digitally a bit. Time to ramble because out of all the WOF characters i relate to Qibli the most. We both grew up in unstable enviroments wanting nothing more than a sense of control and having a strong sense of justice in an unjust world over which we again have no control. We both always want to Do More and Be More and try and try and try and are extremely critical over our every failure. We know what needs to be done but just can't do it. If only we had more power perhaps we could do more good. Then DarkStalker is the opposide side of the same coin. He has the same sense of justice and desire for control except he WAS born with that power. This scene is so important because Qibli is offered the power he'd always dreamed of but here comes into play what distinquishes the two of them. Qibli realizes that the real issue is the power itself. Power corrupts, as the WOF story states time and time again. Qibli realizes that no single dragon should have this much power and declines DarkStalkers offer.

Making Qibli piss yellow should be a crime. Make him a nice and warm brownish yellow to compliment his personality. Give him a nice dark brown sail. Give him some cute freckles which some people forget he canonically has for some reason and give him a dashing smile. Quit making my handsome man the color of bright unhealthy piss.

I would totally do more characters bc this is definitely not all the characters that I have that are in the LGBTQ+ but that would’ve taken way too long lol.

Tropical Storm is a lesbian who is dating the pansexual Queen Calamity, their relationship is totally the GuardxQueen trope bc that’s one of my favorite tropes.

I’ve explained Taipan and Neptune before so I don’t think I need to again lol. But, Taipan is Bi, like me, and Neptune is gay.

Moth is based on a dead moth I had seen in my math class one year lol which is kinda sad but it’s ok bc I am recognizing that moth with moth. Moth is aroace and nonbinary, they live in Pantala and they’re a writer.

The other aroace dragon I have is the queen of the icewings, Evergreen. She takes over for her mother at a young age, as her mother was killed in battle, and has been running the kingdom pretty damn well for her age.

Chalcedony is demisexual, she is Neptune’s mother and Evergreen’s personal guard. Chalcedony was the previous queens guard as well and regrets not being able to save the late queen and leaving her children without a mother. She tries everyday to make up for it.

Queen Moi is the spouse of the current seawing queen, she is trans and bisexual. I created her back in Mermay for the prompt royalty and named her after the moi fish, the species means “fish of kings” so I did a little spin on it.
