May I present to you, straight fucking facts.
Watch it, then watch it again.
Using Black Lives Matter to guilt people into supporting other causes does not help your cause and ignores and trivialises the hard work that black people have put into fighting for equality for over a hundred years.
This is so god damn believable it hurtsš
Happy (belated) Halloween, hereās Elias with a pumpkin hat.
Other examples off the top of my head:
Hearing foreign languages spoken aloud.
Public displays of affection between members of the same sex.
Public breastfeeding.
Being wished a happy holiday.
Seeing a trans person.
Conscientious objectors.
Science.
I absolutely love this take.
I saw a lot of posts, where is implied that Apollo in God Games doesn't care about Odysseus and his situation at all. But what if it's other way around and Apollo just cares too much?
Mythologically Apollo and Hermes are friends. And looks like Hermes cares about his grandgrandson (Odysseus' grandfather is son of Hermes). Hermes was the only god who helped Odysseus even without being asked, just because Hermes wanted to help him.
I just imagine, that Hermes keeps an eye on Odysseus and constantly chatters to Apollo about him, calling him Ody. So thats why Apollo choose such a ridiculous reason as sirens, and uses "Ody" - he wants to help just because of his friendship with Hermes.
Iām being so serious btw when I say that Aziraphale needs to break down and scream and cry and shout and express his anger for once. Like Iāve already made a post about how Aziraphaleās response to his abuse is different from Crowleyās, how itās less socially acceptable and less represented than āinstinctual aversion to anything that reminds the victim of the abuserā and how the fandom has reacted really poorly to it (hey maybe instead of blaming the victim for returning to the source of abuse we should⦠idk, be blaming the abuser?) but I really really hope that Aziraphale gets to actually recognise his abuse and be allowed to process it properly.
Throughout the whole show, and I think we can safely assume, his whole life, he has not cried. He has not cried, or shouted or screamed or let his cheery facade slip for more than a few moments at once. He does not have any healthy coping mechanisms, he cannot acknowledge his abuse and he cannot escape (nor does he feel like he can escape) from the source of abuse. He is still there. He is still being abused, controlled and manipulated right down to the last second of season 2. He has not had the time or the freedom to unpack or even recognise his religious trauma, let alone learn how to deal with it properly. You have to understand this before you blame the entire final fifteen on him.
I am so tired of people thinking that Crowley has faced more abuse than Aziraphale just because it is less subtle and more widely recognised. That is honestly such a harmful idea to have, especially considering how common it is for abuse victims to react in the exact same way as Aziraphale before, during and after theyāve escaped the abusive situation. And you know what? I think the one person who would understand this is Crowley. He knows that Aziraphale is in an abusive situation, heās been through it himself, and he can recognise what is going on. He knows that Aziraphale is not the enemy, and yes, Aziraphale does need to apologise for hurting him during the final fifteen but if Crowley forgives him, there isnāt anything wrong with that. Crowley understands the context and he understands that Aziraphale is just as much of a victim as he is.
The fandom would do well to understand that too. Weāre not picking sides. Aziraphale is just as much of a victim as Crowley is and the person to blame is, and always has been, Heavenās corrupt and manipulative system.
Now that we are officially into spring, meaning parents are beginning to look for stand-out summer activities for their kids. We thought weād step in and give you some ideas on how to stay inspired during time off from school.
Springtime is when kids can explore new activities that will allow them to be both stimulatedĀ but also able to relax. Summer at DIY.org is going to be fun-filled and loaded with new challenges.
Here are some DIY challenges to keep an eye on during your school break:
1. Letās kickstart with an easy one: collecting recycled materials. This is an environmentally-conscious challenge that will help children become more aware of the waste produced by all of us in our everyday lives.Ā
2. You can arrange an indoor garden. (Spoiler alert: Youāll get your hands dirty.) As you may know, the presence of plants in our living space makes us happier and more productive!
3. We welcome you to take a walk in the woods. The key to this challenge is to pay attention toĀ everything you see, hear, smell and even taste. Take us with you on a video journey and narrate all the senses that are stimulated by the world around you.
4. This challenge is quite literally in the sun! Simply take interesting photographs with a shadow as a subject ā could be your shadow or othersā.
5. A tipi is a cone-shaped shelter that historically uses animal skins and wooden poles, but modern tipis can be made with tarps, canvas, or bedsheets. Letās build one!Ā
6. How about building a solar cooker this summer? Itās a lot easier (read: fun) than it sounds. All you need isa large enough cardboard box and aluminum foil.
Me every time I re listen to this amazing show
feeling very normal about Epic: The Musical tonight
Look, I know a good number of you are from the US and things aren't amazing there either, but my country is literally on the brink of collapse. So I'd love it if we could talk about that for a minute.
If you can't do anything else, please just read and reblog.
A second COVID wave has taken out the healthcare system. There are no more hospital beds. There's an oxygen shortage. There's a critical vaccine shortage. The Central Government has thrown its hands up and is passing the baton to the State Governments to do what they can.
There are over 16 million covid cases. A record 330,000 new cases reported yesterday - comparable to the US at its peak. 187,000 dead as of today.
There is no plan.
Mass cremations are taking place. The cremation grounds are running day and night and they are short on wood. People are watching their loved ones die while waiting for a hospital bed, and then they're unable to give them the proper burial rights.
Hospitals are overwhelmed. Patients are being confined, two to a bed. They're the lucky ones.
We are on the verge of people dying in the streets.
This is the second-most populous country in the world. The largest democracy. A country that encapsulates over 15,000 years of recorded human history and has endured everything from famine to invasion to colonisation.
We might be at the end. This might be the thing that does us in.
People are dying.
People are dying.
People are dying and there is no plan.
More good news? Variants are popping up. A double mutation strain has shown up. It is resistant to current vaccines. This will not go away. This is the devastation they warned of when the anti-maskers were out protesting the minor inconvenience of covering their face in public.
My country is on the verge of an emergency state. Our government has failed us. This is as dire a situation as it ever could be.
Look. I don't do much with my life. I write fics, some of you have read them and that's pretty much it. I spend my days with my head in the clouds because that's where I like to be.
But two days ago, my grandmother tested positive, had to be taken to hospital and the ambulance caught fire.
She barely made it to the urgent care she needs.
So, here I am, using whatever meager platform I have to cobble this request together. Because I have to do something.
If you can, donate.
Or spread the word.
Help. Please.
YYYYYYEEESSSSS I STAN FOR THIS! #miraculousunsolved
But itās Ladybug and Chat Noir.
Where CN is hella superstitious and Ladybug just isnāt buying it.
