Dive Deep into Creativity: Discover, Share, Inspire
Highkey was inspired n wrote some lyrics, hope you don't mind??? can't do melodies for shit but uhh i think this is nice for being written in 10 minutes lol
the scripture goes like this: be sure to fear God;
He is good. christianity and catholicism: creature,
holy, human. oh, joyous line. oh, joyous life.
arms up for celestial beings, divinity abound,
heart wide and smile big and the priest prays,
his hands in yours, and the church cross stands
before the sunrise, unbowed in the face of adversity
God's going to murder america and let me tell you why:
please, take a seat, you're going to need it, little bad guy.
God's going to murder america and let me tell you why:
sky's so high in montana, mountain cliff and clouds cry
God's going to murder america and let me tell you why:
the scripture goes like this: be sure to fear God;
He is good. christianity and catholicism: creature,
holy, human. be sure to conform, else they won't
accept you into the kingdom of heaven. oh, joyous.
joyous line, joyous life. arms up for celestial beings,
divinity abound in the farms i raised myself on,
sun setting on fields of my own making; conformity.
God's going to murder america and let me tell you why:
please, take a seat, you're going to need it, little bad guy.
God's going to murder america and let me tell you why:
sky's so high in montana, mountain cliff and clouds cry
God's going to murder america and let me tell you why:
the scripture goes like this: be sure to fear God;
He is good, and He'll kill you if you don't pray
in the morning, believe so much He sucks out your
soul. conformity in the face of adversity so you can't
fight back-- don't worry, it'll be alright, this is your
promise not to burn in damnation. don't make Him
punish you, don't be gay, don't question, don't worry
be sure to fear God because He put His roots in our
family's tractor and now if we don't listen and pray,
hearts wide and smiling, He'll send the priest to stick
a knife in our sister josie who went and got an abortion,
and be sure to fear God because He'll kill cousin georgie
who's not allowed to use the pronouns she (he) wants
and be sure to fear God because God is good; suicide's
not allowed in this land of divinity: conformity in the face of adversity. God is good, God is good, God is good.
God's going to murder america and let me tell you why:
please, take a seat, you're going to need it, little bad guy.
God's going to murder america and let me tell you why:
sky's so high in montana, mountain cliff and clouds cry
God's going to murder america and let me tell you why
Me, trying to explain my obsession with southern gothic and weird alt country: look I don’t know why, but if a song is acoustic, in a minor key, and about murder, god, or america, i just go absolutely batshit
And now I've done this. Goddamn overwhelming creative spirit. Anyway, I didn't really change a lot because you don't really have to when parodying this song. It's an all-around happy love song that can apply to a lot of fictional couples. As always, if you love it, tell me, if you hate it, still tell me.
Love is an Open Door
[Verse 1: Miguel]
All my life has been a series of feeling misplaced
And then suddenly I bump into you
[Verse 1: Sam]
*sigh* I feel you
Cause recently I’ve been trying to find my own place
Don’t know if it’s the moment talking or the lights shining blue
[Pre-Chorus: Miguel and Sam, Both]
But with you (But with you)
I found my place (I see your face)
You’re not the one that I thought I’d fall for
[Chorus]
But Love is an Open Door
Love is an open door (Door)
With you, with you
With you, with you
Love is an open door
[Verse 2: Sam]
I mean it’s crazy
[Verse 2: Miguel]
What?
[Verse 2: Sam]
We finish each others-
[Verse 2: Miguel]
Sentences!
[Verse 2: Sam]
*chuckles* That’s what I was gonna say
I’m never met someone who
[Verse 2: Sam and Miguel, Both]
Thinks so much like me
Jinx!
Jinx again!
Our mental synchronization
Can have but one explanation
You and I were just meant to be!
[Pre-Chorus 2: Miguel and Sam, Both]
Say goodbye (say goodbye) the misplacement has passed
I’ve got to say I feel this to the core
[Chorus 2: Miguel and Sam, Both]
Love is an open door
Love is an open door (Door)
Life can be so much more
With you, with you
With you, with you
Love is an open door (Door)
Let It Go | If Hawk sang “Let it Go” from Frozen
[Verse 1]
The sun shines bright on the skyline tonight
Not a shimmer to be seen
The peace that I once knew of
Now a distant memory
These demons haunt me through the day and through the night
Thing is only few truly know my strife
[Pre-Chorus]
Eli, calm down, don’t go lash out
You’ll survive if you keep your head down
Stay silent, just go with the flow
Well I say no!
[Chorus]
Let it Go!
Let it Go!
Won’t hold it back anymore!
Let it Go!
Let it Go!
I’m breaking down these doors!
I’ll take the mold!
And control my fate!
Let the winds rage on!
This bird’s grown wings and it’s out it’s cage
[Verse 2]
It’s funny how this passion
Grows every time I fall
The ones that once tortured me
Can’t handle me at all!
[Pre-Chorus]
I won’t keep down this burning flame
These weakling all will feel my pain
I’ll train and train until I bleed
They’ll see!
[Chorus]
Let it Go!
Let it Go!
My suffering’s come to an end
Let it Go!
Let it Go!
I’ll never fall again!
Here I stand!
And Here I’ll Stay!
Let the winds rage on…
[Bridge]
My passion burns and blazes all throughout this town
I’ll take over this game and nothing’s gonna keep me down
My fists ache waiting to go and kick some ass
I won’t be weak again, the past is in the past!
[Chous]
Let it Go!
Let it Go!
My wrath lights up the night!
Let it Go!
Let it Go!
You’ll never see me cry!
I’ve changed my mind!
This is my fate!
Let the winds rage on!
This bird’s grown wings and it’s out its cage
i feel like i can only write emo music because i'm not actually angry enough about anything to make authentic punk or hardcore. i can't muster indignation or even snark
Couple days later I think we're basically done. I'd like to add an instrumental repeat of the verse at the end to round it out but otherwise why not keep it short and sweet.

Start in the middle I don't need to know where you're from Not every riddle is given to be answered Here we are now And I'm trying to say what I, what I mean say what I mean Shoulder to the plow, just tell me what it is you heard
You know youth is but the seed of age Ten years the field lay fallow Then erupted in a golden blaze But the slash and burn will hallow
So draw back from the end You don't need to know where I'll go Dot to dot descending ever ever after Pan, play your pipes And let the wild abandon abandon Your civilized vice of believing life is painted by numbers
Because life is but the seed of death Abstracting all that came before From the roots and branches that are left To enrich the pasture's open door
A tune and chords came to me out of nowhere while I was practicing, part of which happened to line up perfectly with a lyrical snippet I'd already written. The rest of the lyrics sprung up almost effortlessly and now I'm 1/3-1/2 way through a new song. Fun! Still working out timing and chords so you know. The note I hit or rather don't on "fallow" is um. Let's not speak of it. but I'm excited to finish and polish this one.

Listening to Suzanne by Leonard Cohen repeatedly and I am sick I am SICK, she feeds you tea and oranges that come all the way from china and the sun pours down like honey on our lady of the harbor.. unwell quaking astral projecting screaming into this void etc.
Why am I songwriting all of a sudden? Astrology girlies tell me what’s taking over…
