an update: saving lockwood and co.

hey! just a quick update on what's going on for tumblr's lock nation. the petition links are here and here, please sign! at the time of writing one of them has 4000+ signs.

we have the google site and the padlet right here, as well as an open letter in the works!

articles have also been written by a few major agencies which is mad, a few linked down here! leisurebyte, forbes, wegotthiscovered, express, sportskeeda

furthermore, georgina stroud and jonathan have been interacting with posts on twitter that talk about passing onwards to another studio, which is a massively positive sign that they want to do something. it's super unclear how much control the strouds have over this, but they're on our side.

authors like rick riordan and eoin colfer have interacted with instagram posts about the cancellation, sharing their thoughts on how it shouldn't have been cancelled.

the hashtag savelockwoodandco has reached 10k tweets at the time of writing!

keep doing what you're doing. please. keep posting, hashtagging, sharing and spreading awareness. this isn't looking as bad as it did at the start.

The theme for this issue of the Tea, Toast & Ghosts zine is "What's your favorite part of Lockwood & Co.?" with a twist:

We challenge you to frame your piece as something you might see in one of the gossip rags Lockwood loves to read in his free time.

For example, if your favorite part of the show is the costumes, create art of your favorite character in street fashion! If you love Skull's snarky commentary, write an editorial from his perspective! We encourage you to push your creativity to its limits.

Lockwood and Co Big Bang 2023!

We're excited to announce the first post-show Lockwood and Co Big Bang event!

A Big Bang teams up authors and artists to create new content for the fandom, and cheerleaders to help them along the way! Artists will create accompanying art for each fic, authors will write a fic of 5k words minimum (there are stages to this, more info to follow!) and cheerleaders will beta read and provide encouragement. We will also be accepting signups for reserve agents, who will be able to step in at the last minute should something happen and a team be left incomplete.

Signups will start on the 20th June and end on the 7th July, and we're looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!

The link for signups can be found here (but the form won't be open before the 20th), and if you want more information about the event our rules and schedule will be posted asap, and asks are open if you have any immediate questions!!

The posting date for all the works is pencilled in to start on the one year anniversary of the show, 27th January, 2024.

A Cot3 travelling circus au, with a touch of magic ✨ (Written for the Lockwood & Co. Big Bang 2023/2024!)

The living and the dead have always spoken equally to Lucy, and she doesn’t know where to focus any more. When disaster strikes at Jacob’s Travelling Circus, Lucy flees to London. There, she stumbles upon the world famous Fairfax Carnival, and falls back on an old con that her mother made her do as a child; swindling punters as a fake psychic. Lucy is content to blend into the background and be just another carnie, but when Annabel Ward, the trapeze star, disappears overnight, Lucy is forced into the spotlight in to a role she told herself she’d never do again. Add to that Lockwood's unhappiness about her getting a star act over him, and stopping the inspector investigating Annabel’s disappearance ratting her whereabouts to Jacobs; Lucy’s too distracted to even notice that the voices in her head are leading her right to the heart of the problem. She can’t ignore the signs forever, and when the mysterious figure lurking inside her crystal ball starts giving warnings about George and the Carnival’s secretary, Joplin, she and Lockwood must work together to figure out the dark secret behind the carnival’s popular attraction; the Hall Of Mirrors.

And as always, all the love towards the organisers of @lockwoodandcobigbang2023, whout whom this event wouldn't have been possible. As I've mentioned in my art posts, you guys dragged me kicking and screaming out of an art *and* writing block, and I'll forever be grateful for that 💕
