Cut to me, regular straight child. I think "haha I'm definitely straight" even though I've never had any interest in men. I turn 8 and go through violent puberty (I developed early lol) and h o l y s h i t why are all the women and femboys so hot what the fuck
I didn't even know what sexuality WAS or even what LGBTQIA+ was, I was a Christian "straight" cis child. And all of a sudden I couldn't even look at anybody remotely feminine without feeling my stomach turn.
So tbh I think it happens either way. Or I was just a little bit too silly, that too

Also a fun fact, if anyone is REALLY set on knowing your birth gender, they're not a good person. Somebody in the community or an ally outside of it would NOT be asking. It's a huge red flag to be caught up on what you were born as, just saying.
Reminder that you don't HAVE to tell anyone your birth sex. I've lied about it my entire life, I've never been happier to not be bound to a set of expected chromosomes, hormones, cycles, or genitalia. I've never been happier to see them tear themselves apart trying to find out how to misgender me.

Racism and homophobia is actual child behaviour by the way. When I was a pre-teen I was racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, and all that. But it turns out I matured, and when you mature, you find out there's bigger worries than people doing something with their own body
