sotr is my favorite book because it's so fun/interesting to see how everything connects together. like snow being highkey offended at lenore dove's name, katniss's parents making a cameo, etc. "oh he knows that because of lucy gray!" "oh everdeen?" "oh my god katniss's mom actually has a personality." plus there are so many lore drops, haymitch yaps so much, we get a lot more information about d12 in the first three chapters than in the main trilogy.

oh also did i mention the lgbtq rep, and that maysilee, louella, wyatt, and lenore dove are all icons? i need to get geese now.

Meanwhile Katniss, who wasn’t a Covey in any way but distant relationship, grew in powerty with a survivor’s mindset and isn’t sharing a SINGLE thing in common with Lenore Dove. Yes, even the “rebelling”, since Lenore Dove is careless, sloppy and extremly loud, while Katniss’ rebelling is way more subtle, yet speaks louder than any words.

Honestly, Katniss that I know would have greatly loathed Lenore Dove - either find her insufferable or careless (and wouldn’t be wrong, since kid seemed to live in an alternative reality).

Girl had 2 pretty rich uncles buying her ass out of trouble and arrests, was allowed to play piano in the mayor’s house and didn’t have to work, while Katniss hunted since she was 12 and was starving.
