Favorite TLTS episode: Devil Dog.

Here are my reasonings for choosing that episode as my favorite:

1. IT'S MOSTLY BAFFY FANFAIR!

2. Bugs being absolutely dumb as hell and not giving a shit if Taz is a dog or not.

3. Daffy freaking out and being somewhat clingy and terrified for Bugs' life (They're married. Fight me.)

Favorite TLTS Episode: Devil Dog.

4. The consistent TOUCHING from Daffy

Favorite TLTS Episode: Devil Dog.

5. The ending thošŸ˜–šŸ˜–šŸ˜–šŸ˜–It's too cute!

6. The moment after Bugs comes home and Daffy's trying to convince him not to go in but Bugs insists. I thought he was about to confess that he loved Bugs but nah, Fuckin Warner Bros. Played me. I think i've been queer baited for a second.

Favorite TLTS Episode: Devil Dog.

But the look Daffy's giving Bugs and Bugs is just done with his shit today. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

7. Is this where Daffy got his green jacket from for the rap segment in Space Jam 2?!?!

Favorite TLTS Episode: Devil Dog.

Favorite TLTS Episode: Devil Dog.

Yep, it is. He got it from this episode. HC it still smells like Taz.

Thank you. I love this episode. That's all.

Okay, I gotta dig out my Society of Tinfoil Hattery credentials from the junk drawer for this one piece business, so strap in and get ready for some flow of conscious yapping.

And just to be clear: ELBAF SPOILERS

Okay, I Gotta Dig Out My Society Of Tinfoil Hattery Credentials From The Junk Drawer For This One Piece

Okay. So the triptych(?) mural. I’m gonna be very insufferable about the mural because that feels like THE center point of this arc. Not so much the poems, because as far as I know, the translations are still unofficial and I can give my thoughts on them then.

Okay, so, the first third. The ā€œFirst Worldā€

Okay, I Gotta Dig Out My Society Of Tinfoil Hattery Credentials From The Junk Drawer For This One Piece

We see people- we can assume slaves- coming out of complexes with machinery beneath and steam billowing from above. Is this a refinery? A power plant? A reactor, maybe?

We see these people go down deep, and come back up carrying something starlike that they bring to a crowned figure on top of the hill. Ore? Precious stones and metals? Some sort of fuel source? It looks the same as the stars depicted, so… nuclear energy?

We also see beneath the ground- perhaps hidden?- a winged figure (sky islander?), next to a very large ship with animals trailing towards it (Noah??) pointing skyward (to the moon???).

Above the crowned figure at the top of the hill, we see a ship in the sky sending a lightning bolt to the feet of the crowned figure and towards the roots of the tree centerpiece (Uranus? Something like the Ark Maxim and Enel?)

And the central piece to the first world portion of the mural… this ā€œSerpent of Hellā€ coming up from beneath the earth where the slaves are going down into getting into a conflict with the bird-like creature at the top of the second world’s tree (Nidhogg and Hraesvelgr imagery? Who would be the Ratatoskr of that?). It seems from the fire the two are spitting at each other, that the whole world has become enveloped in war and- if the bit about the Earth God becoming enraged is translated correctly- rendering it uninhabitable (the reason why the sky islander is taking the animals to Noah? The reason why the sky islanders went to the moon to begin with? Was the land irradiated?)

Okay, I Gotta Dig Out My Society Of Tinfoil Hattery Credentials From The Junk Drawer For This One Piece

This one is the most dicey for me, but bear with me.

The Second World is a tree with the Hraesvelgr-esque figure perched at the top, warring with the Nidhogg-esque figure going down into the earth beneath the roots. We might assume, though I’m not exactly certain about it, that this tree could be symbolic of this eight hundred year reign of the world government? Its branches don’t stick out very far from the trunk, so this could just be to keep the image from being cluttered, just something that wasn’t thought about, or because the tree is giving shade to only a select few.

This Hraesvelgr looking beast seems to have won the conflict with the Nidhogg one. So the Nidhogg beast might have been symbolic of a rebellion coming up from where the slaves toiled away? (The x marks on the serpent’s sides do make me think of a certain tattooed someone with a certain ophidic moniker with certain unsavory opinions on the Celestial Dragons…)

Okay, I Gotta Dig Out My Society Of Tinfoil Hattery Credentials From The Junk Drawer For This One Piece

And then we see the last portion of the triptych. Nika leading the charge with an army at his back against a winged demon holding the sun.

I see Nika and Imu (or maybe even Teach…) depictions here, obviously. I see a whale with two people on it’s back (Laboon, Crocus, and that one dude who was drinking with him that one cover art (that might be the man marked by flames))? I see a Lunarian (King and/or the Seraphim?). I see Emmet. I see Dogstorm and Catviper. I see Shirahoshi and the Megalodon. I see Leo. I see Loki! We see several ships, too! All of these people fighting against one big demon and one tiny ship with just a handful of people. The world has turned on the powerful few.

In conclusion… I think this is a sort of history-prophecy thing like with Alduin’s Wall in Skyrim. These aren’t ā€œworldsā€ per se, but Ages. It just gives that illusion because it feels like how humanity speaks of bygone eras as totally different worlds. I think this is the Void Century, Imu’s reign (specifically Imu, because clearly something or someone was calling the shots before them. Perhaps the Nerona were ruling? And Imu formed the alliance of the 20 Kingdoms when the Nerona family was being threatened by this ā€œSerpent of Hellā€? Maybe Imu was the only survivor of their line and refused to let go of their power?), and Imu’s downfall respectively.

I… really don’t think Nika brings the end of the world. I think he just brings in a new Age.

I’m going to go on my ā€œImu is an eternal childā€ soap box when I say that I think Imu is embodying a sort of foil to Nika (a moon god/dess mythical zoan, maybe?). Both Nika and Imu seem… childish to me. Nika is all the positive things we associate with childhood. Play and laughter and imagination. While Imu… Imu is all the negatives. Selfishness and moodiness and ā€œI’ll break my toy so I don’t have to share itā€ mentality. You get what I’m saying?

Again, this is by no means a comprehensive thing. This purely just me spitballing things.

Thoughts are absolutely welcome.

Just thought of a random headcanon:

Wakko has a form of synesthesia that links sight and taste. He can taste colors and textures. To him, if something looks good enough to eat, it tastes good enough to eat.

In time travel movies, when the time traveler asks 'What year is this?!?' they're always treated like they're being weird for asking.

When in reality, if you go 'What year is this?!?' people will just say '2024. Crazy huh.' and you go 'Wtf where has my youth gone.'

And if you ask 'And what month??' people won't judge you, they'll just go like 'SEPTEMBER!!! Can you believe it?!?!' and you go 'WHAT?!? Last time I checked we were in May?!?'

How did Oda leave such a strong impression on Dazai?

OOHH ok i have a lot of thoughts on this topic so bear with me, this is gonna be a long one My interpretation is the first thing Dazai latched onto about Oda was his honesty.

Oda is a very straightforward person, he rarely ever if at all has an ulterior motive and it totally blindsides Dazai. He can't manipulate Oda because he'll take what he says too literally, he can't predict him - not because Oda is good at hiding his thoughts, he just naturally has the most unreadable resting poker face imaginable - and no matter what he does nothing seems to phase Oda (keyword "seems", it often does he just doesn't show it) , and it intrigues Dazai.

How Did Oda Leave Such A Strong Impression On Dazai?

As seen with Chuuya we know Dazai gets hooked on people who surprise and/or impress him, so I can absolutely understand how he saw the enigma that is Oda and said "you're my friend now we're having soft tacos later <3".

I could go on for hours about the various times Oda has bamboozled Dazai and how each effected him profoundly in so many different ways, but that's a discussion for another time. I don't think just these factors would realistically warrant Dazai's drastic change in world outlook and spur on his sudden redemption arc, so what did?

I believe it was his complete lack of judgement. Despite Dazai's constant suicide attempts and harsh view of the world not once did Oda outwardly judge him for it, which is in some ways a blessing and in some ways a curse. Oda never viewed himself as qualified enough to call Dazai out, which in hindsight might've done harm as there were times were Dazai needed someone to call him out, but unbeknownst to Oda that lack of judgement gave Dazai room to breathe.

How Did Oda Leave Such A Strong Impression On Dazai?
How Did Oda Leave Such A Strong Impression On Dazai?

He saw right past the silly facade and the darker side to Dazai, he saw a "sobbing child abandoned in the darkness of a world far emptier than the one we're seeing", and he saw a friend.

And this is exactly why Oda's last words hit Dazai so hard. Odasaku, who never speaks up for himself, Odasaku, who's so genuine he'd believe a murderer if they simply said "I didn't do it", Odasaku, who is now telling Dazai life might just be little better if he decides to help rather than hurt.

How Did Oda Leave Such A Strong Impression On Dazai?

Bleeding out on the floor of a mansion, in a desperate attempt to make up for all the times he didn't confront Dazai Oda has to find some way to get through to him and fast. His harsh words to Dazai on how he'll never find that happiness he so desperately craves are so jarring they snap him out of his panic, suddenly he's blindsided all over again, and that vulnerable state gives Oda's next words the chance to reach deeper - "be on the side that saves people."

How Did Oda Leave Such A Strong Impression On Dazai?

In order to truly get through to him, Oda needed to level with Dazai, the only way to do that in such little time was to repeat back to him his own internal mantra of "never filling that hole that is his loneliness". It's clear his words are false, especially the line "nothing beyond your own expectations will happen" as Dazai's entire speech to Fyodor in the prison is about his belief in the unpredictable nature of human beings.

How Did Oda Leave Such A Strong Impression On Dazai?

But regardless, that slap in the face of hearing his own self-destructive thoughts voiced aloud after going his entire life without ever considering anybody else could understand them heightened Dazai's faith in Oda's promise of a life that's "a bit more wonderful."

How Did Oda Leave Such A Strong Impression On Dazai?

What makes me adore Oda and Dazai's friendship so much is how grounded and natural it feels. Oda isn't some perfect saviour who always knows exactly what to say, far from it, he was a 23 year old PM grunt with 5 kids and a love for spicy curry, but that's all he needed to be.

Sorry this is so ramble-y and long winded if you couldn't tell already Oda's my favourite character so I have a lot to say about him 😭 Thank you so much for the ask!!!

I was going to write an all-caps post begging you to watch this series, but I feel like it wouldn’t give it any justice, so um, here’s a fucking essay on why you should watch this.

Fandoms react to is a popular "genre" in the Gacha fandom where people make characters from fandoms "react" to edits or scenes of a character’s story. It is very popular in the Gacha fandom.

But this series takes a turn and makes the characters wonder why the fuck they are in a room with a bunch of people watching videos of their personal lives and how the hell they’re going to get out—something that is ignored in EVERY SINGLE GACHA REACT EVER.

The world-building in this series is amazing, and the genuine amount of work put into this just makes it better. Not to mention both the characters and the design for them are incredibly accurate and are just fun to watch as the characters interact with one another in the terrifying situation they’ve been forced into.

And to put it frank, that is really all I can tell you because saying anything else will ruin the experience of really watching this ongoing series for yourself.

And if you’re still having second thoughts on if this is really as good as I said it was, please remember that I wrote an entire essay just to convince people to watch it. So yea, it's that good.

Rewatching "Dot's Quiet Time" from the original Animaniacs series and just the beginning sequence alone is my favorite part of the song.

Like Yakko and Wakko

Just being brothers

Their little outfits!

Oh yeah, and then Dot just sitting there contemplating whether she's going to murder her brothers or not. (They're being annoying so I wouldn't blame her.)

Rewatching "Dot's Quiet Time" From The Original Animaniacs Series And Just The Beginning Sequence Alone

The song itself is pretty great too! I'm kind of disappointed it never got an updated release like "I'm Cute" did. (There's apparently a soundtrack version but I'm guessing it was released on one of the earlier CDs or someone just created their own version?)

This and the Animaniacs theme that plays on the stereo at the end of the song both deserve their own singles.
