I’m working on a Yaoyorozu redesign but it’s taking a while so here’s an old animation from 5 years ago.
Horikoshi after Bnha fans bill him for their therapy:
I know they couldn’t really do Luna’s iconic magic hair - but they could’ve at least TRIED harder to give her a nice hairstyle.
And it’s funny that while everyone has some sorta pastel fantasy skin tone - Big Mac is just a natural skin tone.
Luna’s skin tone doesn’t really look like a lightened version of her dark blue. It looks more lavender. Her color palette seems completely different from her pony form. She doesn’t really look like Luna in the way other characters resemble each other’s forms.
Studio Bones animators looking at the new chapters:
Horikoshi being a sadist, drawing the new chapters:
Tenko/Shigaraki most definitely orphaned more children than Muscular ever has- and even if the story wanted to end his character with death as the conclusion- it doesn’t feel as natural to me as an ending than Toga’s.
With how All for One stole Tenko’s body (and mind to a degree) and then the reveal of him being the true source of Tenko’s pain (he literally turned INTO the house) I felt like this was something that needed more time to conclude.
We didn’t see much of Tenko after he ‘shatters’ when the truth is revealed. We don’t get his perspective between then and his death. So with the ending feeling so sudden- it makes me feel unsatisfied with how the better-WRITTEN villain was concluded.
There was a lot of buildup to Deku trying to find a way to stop Tenko without killing him-
at some point Deku literally drags Tenko away from a battlefield named ‘The Coffin’, and then when Gran Torino’s cape was destroyed (the cape he gave to Deku when said that death was a form of salvation) it felt like the story was telling the audience that that philosophy was of no use anymore with it being decayed.
Then the story subverts this expectation- after getting the audience invested in the expected ending. So I feel like a lot of fans felt… cheated?
I think there’s probably ways to do an ending with Tenko & the other league members dying- but give them TIME- this ending just made me feel like there was something wanting?
I don’t blame Horikoshi for wanting the series to end- he’s been working on this for 10 years! He deserves a break- especially if it’s cost him his health. My only complaint is that I wish Horikoshi took more breaks while making the ending so it gave its characters the time and care they needed for the story’s final goodbye.
Can’t believe these two are still alive but Tenko and most of the League are dead.
