As a person who has pointed out all the things that were different in the books, I feel attacked. I still love the show though. I do believe change can be good. Idk if I should be triggered or not, lmaošš
tbh itās not the renewing of PJOtv for season 2 that is impossible I think that people should be concerned for any season past that.
1. Tv show cancellations are frequent and getting worse post strike. Even though Percy Jackson pulled in good numbers whoās to say Disney wonāt just pull the plug. Networks arenāt really allowing shows to build a base and Percy Jackson is largely relying on fan base support, which leads me toā¦
2. Fans are overtly critical even now, the season isnāt even over yet and we have a lot of complains.
3. Itās very clear that ever since casting was announced a lot of fans were not going to like the show. You may think Iām talking about the overt haters, Iām not. Iām talking about the ones who tune in every week yet only leave with criticisms.
4. People who like to pretend that they werenāt trashing the movies when they came out now all of a sudden are just filled with praise for the film.
Iām not saying this to be a negative Nancy or say that people donāt have valid criticisms, Iām saying this to say that I kinda think wonder if this show is going to go past a season 3.
āIt's taboo to admit that you're lonely. You can make jokes about it, of course. You can tell people that you spend most of your time with Netflix or that you haven't left the house today and you might not even go outside tomorrow. But rarely do you ever tell people about the true depths of your loneliness, about how you feel more and more alienated from your friends each passing day and you're not sure how to fix it. It seems like everyone is just better at living than you are. A part of you knew this was going to happen. Growing up, you just had this feeling that you wouldn't transition well to adult life, that you'd fall right through the cracks. And look at you now, it's happening.ā

Maybe i'm wrong, but does anyone else think the breeding of demi gods in PJO is not just a "Oh those gods, so horny they cannot stop themselves from impregnating mortals" thing but also a very fucked up type of survival strategy? Like, a god's strenght often depends on how many people worship them (idk if it's like that in pjo but feel free to correct me), they left their homeland to go to the new heart of western civilization, however they're very much not the main gods worshiped there, so what do they do now? They breed themselves a bunch of half humans that are pretty much obligated to be their believers. It also does nothing to help me put my tinfoil hat down the fact that the gods also canonly use their demi kids as problem solvers
No, but considering my nearing superhuman ability to not be able to tell if someone looks mad might come in handyšš
Percy at ease
Percy calm, but a little on edge
Percy when mildly angry
Friendly reminder that Percy jackson - our beloved silly adorable seaweed brain - is absolutely terrifying. When heās angry, when heās scared, when heās on edge - heās not warm and fuzzy.
No other character gets that reaction from people. Jason (the sweetie) is perceived as calm and in control, nico (our favorite self-outcasted outcast) is perceived as solemn and creepy, reyna (girlboss queen slay) is perceived as confident and assertive, and annabeth (our girl) is perceived as fierce, clever, and formidable. They are all intimidating to an extent.
But not like Percy. No. Becasue even when heās at ease, heās described as wild and disobedient. And when heās not at ease, even if just little bit, heās perceived as powerful, dangerous, and scary. Someone who NOBODY wants to mess with. Nobody even questions his power. One look from him has literal gangs running the other way. One look from him has Leo so scared that heās literally shaking, and feeling the same innate fright and alarm that he does when jason summons an ear-piercing, earth-shaking, deadly bolt of lighting.
like⦠HELLO??? can we all just sit on that for a moment?? good lord
One angry look from percy has people thinking one thing: Run.
Percy is, canonically, the character that people find the most frightening and intimidating.
And unless heās in a good mood - which you better hope he is - the reality is that most of us would be completely terrified of him if we met him.

I support women's right but more importantly I support women's wrong.
The best part of the percy jackson books is that from percy's perspective hes just an easygoing funny cool guy who seems pretty harmless but the moment you see him from someone elses pov hes terrifying. Just a crazy good fighter, a force of nature killing machine, literally gets mistaken for a god in disguise. But he doesnt see that side of himself at all because hes too busy arguing with authority figures and respecting women. I love him
āBut what does Grover bring to the table? Heās just the comedy relief character.ā Grover is juggling the role of babysitter, mediator, and emotional manipulator and he cracks jokes too? Give him a BREAK
I was just singing this to one of my fellow Demigods because HE DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THE SONG??? AND HES NOT WATCHING THE SERIES????
Ngl, I get human rights and all, but it's giving Ohio
so you run, through shadows you roam. seams undone by the love you thought you could own
one more nico drawing shouldn't hurt right

And yk what I was waiting for? Charon to actually act like the underpaid employee that he is and Percy promising him that he'll talk to Hades about that raise. Which he does.
This is scene would be remembered with fondness.
This was the silliness missing in the episode! Was waiting for it the moment Charon appeared.
