i just saw a tik tok where a hockey player used the bottom of their skate to crack a drink can to shotgun it… i’m envisioning…
(ur work is incredibly and i’m obsessed w everything you write!!!)
I SAW A VIDEO OF THIS, TOO! It was a women's college hockey team- very impressive!
I gotta say, though, this one kind of got away from me. It went in a COMPLETELY different direction than I thought it was going to, although I'm not mad about it. I hope you like it!
I'm also currently sat with a cup of tea and my computer, writing up a storm! I am hoping to have these prompts written and edited within the next day or two, so please send me more if you want!

Logan didn’t even like the taste of beer that much, but the cold liquid did feel good sliding down his throat after a win. It was late April now, just before the playoffs, and the Rangers had finished their undefeated home streak with another win, setting off an electric feeling in the locker room. They had barely finished taking off their jersey when Percy and Alex had supplied them with beers.
“Fucking beauty of a goal, Tremz!” Percy shouted in his ear over the thumping bass music. “OT win to close it out, let’s fucking go!”
Logan laughed and let Percy tip his head back again and press a can to his lips. It wasn’t the nice beer- that would be ordered later at the bar they would inevitably end up at- so it left a lingering dirty after taste, but Logan soaked up the warm feeling of his teammates around him and the adrenaline of the win and let it fill him right up. He felt Percy slap him on the back as he removed the can from his lips.
“Gentlemen!” he yelled, turning to look at Logan with a sly grin. “I think it’s time for our three scorers of the game to get this party started.”
“What the fuck are you planning?” Will asked with narrowed eyes.
“A Harvard hockey tradition,” Percy said. He reached into the cardboard box and pulled out three beers. “Morgs, Hazard, Tremz, sit.”
Logan took a breath in and shook his head amusedly. “Non, no fucking way.”
“Yes way, man, you gotta! You were the king of this!”
Logan sighed and sat between Will and Alex in front of their stalls. Alex leaned over with confused eyes. “What the hell is going on?” he whispered.
Logan grinned. “We have to open the cans with our skate blades and shotgun them.”
Alex just blinked at him. “You’re joking.”
“I’m not. We used to do this back at Harvard.”
“Finn too?”
“Ouais.” Logan laughed at the memories. “He was never very good at it.”
“Nah, he doesn’t like chugging alcohol. Prefers to sip, the pretentious bastard.”
Logan just nudged him playfully. “I think it’s cute.”
“Of course you do, you have no chill.” Alex sat up and slapped his thighs. “Alright, Perseus, hit me.”
Percy’s smile was elated and, perhaps, slightly tipsy. “That’s the fucking spirit, bro.” He handed them each their beers.
“Fuck, haven’t done this in years,” Will said from Logan’s other side. “You remember that time after playing BC? Your rookie season?”
Logan laughed. “Fuck, that was shit beer.”
Will smiled at him. “Yeah, it was. Finn gave up halfway through.” He reached up to ruffle Logan’s waves. “But I remember some rookie leaving us all in the dust.”
“Ouais,” Logan said, rolling his eyes playfully. “I guess I had a reputation.”
“You absolutely fucking did,” Percy interrupted. “Okay, okay, who’s videoing? Who’s got a phone?”
“Ici,” Logan said, reaching behind him into his stall and getting his phone. He held it out to Luke, who’d come over to watch. “Allez, Dev, take it, please.”
Luke sighed. “I forget that you’re a frat boy sometimes.”
“Non, I’m not,” Logan protested, aligning the can underneath his skate blade as Alex and Will did the same. “Not anymore.”
“Habits are hard to break,” Luke teased, laughing at Logan’s scoff. He held up the phone. Saint came to his side to watch, and Logan didn’t miss the way their hips were brushing. “Okay, ready.”
“Gentlemen!” Percy called again. “Are you ready?”
“Jesus, you’re so dramatic,” Will said, poised and ready. “Let’s just get this over with.”
“On your marks, get set, go!”
Logan slashed the can with the heel of his blade and scooped it up to his mouth. He could hear the cheers around him, Will, and Alex as they chugged. Alex made some sort of strangled sound from beside him, but Logan ignored it, forcing his throat to open to let the liquid down. He sucked in, one, two, three, four, and when he felt nothing left, he slammed the can onto the ground with a gasp and a pant. “Allez!”
Will let out a laugh as he took one last chug, and Alex coughed as he finished his own beer. “Fucking hell, that’s shit.”
“You still got it, don’t you?” Will said, squeezing his can between his hands to crush it. “Jesus, that’s harder than it was five years ago.”
“How did you do that?” Alex groaned. “Fuck, the hole was too fucking small, and that is really awful beer. Kase and Nat aren’t gonna believe I did this.”
“Practice, mon ami.” Logan slapped him on the back and stood. “Did you get it?” he asked Luke.
“Yeah,” Luke said, handing over Logan’s phone. “Your boys are gonna love that one.”
Logan punched him softly in the arm. “Shut up.”
Luke just winked and turned to go take off his pads. Logan sighed, looking down at his phone. He watched the video once. It felt like a trip- with him, Will and Alex, who look so much like Finn, sitting and chugging beer, Logan could almost pretend he was back at Harvard, reliving the first time he did this in the BC locker room. He remembered he had felt hot and bothered with Finn’s thigh pressed against his and confused by the swirling emotion in his chest. He sighed, a little wistfully, and opened his group chat with Finn and Leo. They’d already sent him texts after his game, ranging from inappropriate to sweet, but always smitten. He bit his lip as his cheeks heated up and sent them the video. Percy made us do it, he typed. I love you.
He listened to the swoosh sound of the message going through and propped his leg up to take off his skates.

Hours later, Logan was pleasantly buzzed and fumbling with his keys to open his apartment door. Behind him, Alex was laughing. “You okay, Tremz?”
“Ouais.” Logan stuck his tongue through his teeth and focused. When he got the key in the lock and turned, he let out a sigh of relief. “Allez, it’s open.”
“Good.” Alex pulled him in for a hug. “Night, bud, say hi to my brother and Leo.”
Logan laughed disbelievingly. “What? How did you…?”
Alex rolled his eyes good-naturedly. “You have two sips of alcohol and you turn into the biggest softie known to man. Go, go call them, they’re probably waiting.”
“Ah, ouais,” Logan said sheepishly. “Let me know when you get home.”
Alex winked. “Will do. Night, Lo.”
Logan felt himself smile at the nickname. “Night, Al.”
He felt a little fuzzy as he went through the motions of getting ready for bed. No sooner had he stepped through his apartment door than he was ripping his shirt off, body hot from the alcohol and the spring evening, and putting on a clean pair of boxers like Leo would have wanted him to do. He smiled at the thought as he put his clothes in the laundry hamper and pulled out his phone to check the time. It was late, around one in the morning, but he had received a text from Leo not thirty minutes prior. The Lions had a few days off, and he knew Finn and Leo had gone out to dinner with Thomas and Cole, so there was a chance they were still awake. He smiled as he opened the message. It was a video of Finn, sitting on the couch in nice black slacks and a thin light purple shirt. His collar was undone and he had obviously been in the middle of undoing his belt when he got distracted by something on his phone. Logan squinted and realized it was the video of him. Logan laughed as Finn replayed once, then twice more. His ears were red. Leo flipped the camera, shaking his head fondly, then winked. “Love you,” he whispered, then the video stopped.
The sigh Logan let out sounded wanting, even to himself, as he rolled over onto his stomach on the bed. He still felt a little out of it from the beer and the four rum and cokes he’d drunk at the bar, so he didn’t even think before pressing the video camera icon just beside Leo’s name.
When Leo picked up, Logan got a full view of his smile and fluffy curls peeking out of the hood of his maroon sweatshirt. It looked like one of Finn’s from Harvard. He was sitting on the couch, the overhead lights dimmed in the late night. “Hi, sweetheart. Good game.” When Logan didn’t say anything, just smiled at him, he let out a snort and his eyes lit up further. “Oh my God, how much did you have to drink?”
Logan just made a happy sound and hid his face in the pillows. He and Leo just gazed at each other for a moment before there was a voice from off the screen. “Is that Lo?”
Leo looked up to where Logan presumed Finn was. “Yeah, honey, come say hi.”
Finn suddenly appeared at Leo’s side, his reading glasses shifting as his nose scrunched with his freckled smile. “Hi, baby. Good night?”
Logan nodded. “Ouais. Went to a bar.”
Finn’s eyes flitted over his face. “I know, I can tell. You’ve got sleepy eyes.” He turned his head to press kisses to Leo’s rosy cheeks.
Logan hated the distance more than anything, but he did love watching them love one another, even if it was through a screen. He lived for these video calls more than he could ever put into words. “Did you like my video?”
Leo nodded, and Finn made an approving sound against his skin. With a last kiss, he pulled away and turned back to look at Logan again. “Like it? Fucking loved it, what a blast from the past. You’re so hot and sexy, Lo, baby.”
Logan wiggled his hips unconsciously, pleased. He looked at Leo. “Et toi, soleil?”
Leo’s smile made him feel cozy all over. “Of course I loved it, sweetheart. Very impressive.”
“Mm, good.” He yawned. “I’m sleepy.”
Leo made a tisking sound. “I know, honey. Have you brushed your teeth and washed your face?”
Logan hid his face in the pillows. “Non. Not yet.”
“Take us with you, honey, and we’ll talk before bed. It’s late.”
“Mm.” Logan didn’t get up immediately, just folded his arms on top of a pillow and let his phone lean against the headboard. “I miss you,” he sighed. “Wish you were here to snuggle me.”
Leo was still smiling at him, but Logan saw his eyes turn a little sad. He was always trying to be positive and make things better, and Logan loved him for it, but sometimes even that mask slipped a little. Leo probably wouldn’t sleep tonight. Logan wanted to be there to rub his back and kiss his forehead in the moonlight.
“Us, too, Lo,” Finn said. He pulled Leo’s head to rest onto his shoulder and wrapped his arms around him. It seemed he’d noticed Leo’s eyes dim a little bit, too. Despite the pain, that comforted Logan a bit, and he watched as Finn watched him. “We’ll see you in a few weeks, baby, I promise. Go get ready for bed, we’ll be right here.”
Logan didn’t think he’d ever get used to going through his night routine without someone there to put their hands on his hips or press kisses to his neck. He had suddenly felt cold, and dug around in his closet for the Saints sweatshirt that still smelled like Leo’s cologne. Now, he had his tooth brush hanging out of his mouth and his phone propped against his soap bottle as Leo told him a story about how Finn scared a girl at the bar today.
“...and he just stood there, silent, waiting for her to move so he could use the bathroom. And she was short, like five feet tall, so obviously she got scared shitless when a big man was behind her trying to squeeze by.” Leo smiled delightedly at Finn’s groan. “She spilled her drink all over her white pants.”
Logan laughed as Finn came out of his hiding place that was Leo’s neck. “Oh, mon rouge.”
“I didn’t know what to do, okay? I thought I had enough space to squeeze past!”
Leo tilted his head to meet Finn’s eyes. “Honey, you’re a six foot professional hockey player, you can’t just squeeze through anywhere.” He kissed Finn’s chest and rested his face against it. It squished his cheek and Logan suppressed the urge to reach through the screen and pinch his other one. “Anyways, he bought her and her friends two rounds of drinks, then they really liked him. I had to go rescue our boyfriend again, honey.”
Logan smiled as he washed his face. “Again?” he teased, standing to reach for a towel.
“I can’t help it!” Finn defeatedly slouched forward to press his face into Leo’s neck. “I don’t know why everyone thinks that I’m flirting, I’m just friendly.”
“Yeah, too friendly,” Leo joked.
Finn made a playful sound and bit at Leo’s jaw. “I’m only too friendly with you two, I’ll have you know.” His big brown eyes blinked out tiredly at Logan. “Hi, Lo, baby.”
“Salut.” Logan picked his phone up and walked back to his bedroom, boxing himself in with pillows and snuggling under the sheets. “D’accord, it’s late. You need to go to bed.”
“No,” Finn whined. Logan saw him squeeze Leo tightly, even through his yawn. “No, no, let’s stay up and talk. An all-nighter.”
Logan shook his head, smiling softly. “Non, rouge, I have practice in the morning, then we fly out to Calgary.”
“No,” Finn protested again. His voice was a little tight, and his brow was furrowed. Logan could see Leo biting the inside of his cheek at Finn’s distress. “No, Lo, stay up. Stay up, baby.”
“Rouge.” Logan’s eyes felt a little hot. “Rouge, you have to sleep.”
Finn sighed heavily. “I miss you.” Leo shifted to sit up fully, bringing Finn to rest on his chest now.
“Je sais,” Logan whispered. “Look at me, mon amour.” When Finn did, Logan watched a tear fall down his cheek. Logan thought about what Leo would do if he were far away from them, and he plastered a smile on his face. It felt almost sad, but it was real. He didn’t force his smiles for Finn anymore. “I love you. I miss you, but I love you, too, d’accord? I love you more than I miss you. And that’s what matters, oui?”
“I know.” Finn sniffed. He clutched at the hands Leo had wrapped around his waist. “I know, I love you, too.”
Logan smiled a little wider now, then looked at Leo’s face. He was smiling, too, a little sadly. He dipped his chin into Finn’s hair. I’ve got him. Don’t worry, sweetheart.
“Allez.” Logan pursed his lips in a kiss. “I love you, mes amours. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”
“We love you, honey.” Leo kissed the top of Finn’s head, which was lolling back as he obviously struggled to not close his eyes. The purple under his eyes made him look exhausted, but he was still just as gorgeous as the day Logan had met him. Leo, too, with his crystal blue eyes that were gazing at Logan so lovingly it made his breath catch. “Sweet dreams, Lo, we’ll talk to you tomorrow.”
“Love you,” Logan said once more before hanging up. The second he shut his phone off, it felt as though warmth had left him. It wasn’t okay, but Logan had learned to sleep in cold sheets.
He lay awake for a while, a pillow clutched in his arms and curled on his side, when his phone lit up with a text. He reached for it and squinted. Leo again.
When he opened it, it was a photo. Finn and Leo were in bed now, Finn passed out with his cheek against Leo’s chest and his fingers curled around the neckline of Leo’s sweatshirt. Logan could tell he was sleeping heavily in the way he did when he was really exhausted, his mouth open slightly. Logan could almost hear his soft snoring. Leo had slightly dark circles under his eyes, but he was smiling, cheek resting on the top of Finn’s head. He looked so soft and cozy and warm, and Logan wanted nothing more than to be wrapped in his arms.
We love you, sweetheart, Leo’s text read. Sleep tight.
I love you, I love you, I love you so much, Logan wrote back. Good night.
He went to set his phone back on his nightstand, but paused. He rubbed his thumb over Leo’s smile, over the slope of Finn’s nose, as if he could actually feel them. No, he decided. The nightstand would be too far. So, he clutched his phone to his chest and stared at it, imagining their body heat mixing with his, until he fell asleep.
And if in the morning, while brushing his teeth, while making breakfast, he spent the whole time staring at his new lock screen- well, he would just say he was a man in love.
Leo’s from NOLA so he’s probably so used to extreme heat that he’s chronically freezing cold in the fall/winter 😭
As a northern girl myself, I would never survive in the NOLA heat. To each their own, I guess.
Enjoy our lovernut being a very adorable icicle! All credits to @lumosinlove !!
“Absolutely not.”
“Leo,” Logan laughed. He was holding up a pair of snowshoes with a grin. “Allez.”
“No, no, no way, have you seen the thermometer?” Leo exclaimed. He picked it up from its place on Logan’s parents’ counter. “Negative twelve Celsius. That’s, like, 10 degrees!” He shivered as if to demonstrate. “I will be an icicle.”
“A very cute icicle,” Finn said, straightening from where he was tying his boots up. “C’mon, sunshine, you’ve gotta go snowshoeing at least once while we’re here.” He kissed Leo’s cheek and wrapped him in a hug. “Please, please, please?”
“Allez, Le, look,” Logan added. He pulled out some gear from a box in the mud room. “I’ve got some nice wool mittens and a fleece Buff, and you’ve got your beanie maman knit you.” He walked up to Leo and put a hand on his cheek. “You’ll be fine, mon coeur.”
Leo narrowed his eyes, but huffed. “Fine. Fine, but don’t be surprised if I can’t make you hot cocoa when we get back.”
Finn snorted lightly through his nose in amusement. “The horror.”
Leo turned to him. “You laugh now, but you love my cocoa.”
“Not as much as I love you,” Finn said with a last kiss to his cheek. “C’mon, let’s get you bundled up, butter.”
“Ouais, I’ll even strap you into your snowshoes, soleil, so you don’t have to take off your mittens.”
Leo thought for a second. “Okay,” he conceded. He pulled the fleece gaiter firmly over his head and tucked it into the neck of his jacket. “Okay, let’s go.”
After being sufficiently bundled up by his boyfriends, Leo stepped out onto the snow-covered porch of the Tremblay’s Rimouski home, just outside of the main city, and took a breath of freezing-cold air. This was not how he anticipated to be spending their week off for the All Star break, but Logan had wanted to go home where the snow was high, and Finn and Leo would follow him anywhere- hence, their mid-season reunion headed up north to the freezing cold Canadian winter. It was a wonderland, the snowbanks piled up on the side of the streets and the tree branches weighed down with heavy powder. If only Leo’s parents could see him now. His mother would certainly laugh.
Leo watched as Logan knelt to strap him into the snowshoes he was borrowing from Logan’s father. He looked handsome with his winter coat and his bomber hat, all rugged and outdoorsy. Leo sometimes forgot that this had been Logan’s life before the NHL- it was more distinctly different from Leo's and Finn’s than Leo’s and Finn’s were from each other. It seemed that he never lost the love for the wilderness, either, because the first thing he had suggested they do last night was go for a morning snowshoe the following day, which Finn had readily agreed to. Leo had taken a little more convincing, and was promised lots of cuddles and blankets after their walk in the woods- a promise he certainly was going to make sure they kept.
Now, however, he got to relish the brightness of Logan’s eyes looking up at him as he finished helping Leo. His gloves were hanging around his wrists on their straps to allow his nimble fingers to do the buckles, and his hair flopped out a little over his forehead from underneath his hat. He smiled gently up at Leo and cradled the back of his calf. “All done,” he said softly, pressing a kiss to Leo’s thigh through his snowpants. He stood up and pressed a light peck to Leo’s lips. “Ready, mon amour?”
“Ouais,” Leo replied. He shivered. “I’m already cold.”
“Well, let’s get moving,” Finn said. He kicked his feet out a few times and grinned at Logan. “Damn, Lo, it’s been a while since I wore these. Probably the last time I visited your place during the winter in college.”
Logan grinned back. “Oui. Not so awkward on your feet now, huh, Bambi?”
Finn rolled his eyes but kissed Logan’s forehead. “Ha ha.” He jerked his chin at Leo. “Why don’t you teach him?” His toasty brown eyes caught Leo’s own baby blues, and his toothy grin and freckles were sharp against the dark navy of his hat. “These are no ordinary shoes, sunshine.”
“Non,” Logan agreed. “You’ve gotta pick your feet up a little more and walk slightly outwards, d’accord? So they don’t drag and tear your snowpants.” He demonstrated by stepping off the porch and walking a few steps in the yard. “Like this, oui?”
“Ooooo-ways!” Finn yelled. He followed after Logan, jumping on him briefly with an arm around his shoulders. He kissed his cheek hard, then turned and held his hand out to Leo. “You coming, baby-baby?”
Leo nodded and took the first step towards them through the soft, twinkling snow.
***
“Oh, baby. Oh, baby-baby, you’re shaking.”
“Uh-huh,” Leo said through chattering teeth. He attempted a smile. “It was fun, though.”
Finn made a noise in the back of his throat. “Are you sure?” He tugged Leo’s hat and Buff off, both slightly damp with sweat and snow. “You’re freezing, sweetheart.”
“Ouais,” Logan said. He had stripped himself of his winter clothes the fastest, left in only jogging pants and a thermal T-shirt. “Let’s throw our damp clothes in the dryer, and I’ll make us a fire.”
“Th-thanks,” Leo got out.
Finn tisked his tongue. “Let’s get you in some fresh dry clothes, Le.”
“I-I’m really fine-”
“Nope, nuh-uh.” Finn shook his head. “No frozen boyfriends. You’re not any fun if you’re frozen.”
Leo rolled his eyes playfully but crossed his arms over his body, completely rid of all layers except his pants and thermal shirt as well. “I’m going to go put on a sweatshirt.”
Finn kissed him. “And dry socks. There are some more wool ones I unpacked last night, they’re in the top drawer.”
“Merci,” Leo said, and all but rushed up the stairs to Logan’s bedroom. He found one of Logan’s Rangers sweatshirts on their bed. It was a little big on Logan anyways, and made Leo feel surrounded by the scent of him as he pulled the hood over his head. Leo ducked his nose into the collar and took a big inhale. He’d missed Logan so terribly some nights it was hard to sleep, even with Finn as a warm weight against his back. Now, though, he felt tucked away and safe in the place Logan grew up- even though he was freezing his tail off.
He came back downstairs laden in cozy clothing and two pairs of woolen socks to find Logan in the kitchen bustling around to make tea and Finn putting a few more logs on the fire Logan had made in the Tremblay’s woodstove. Marius and Iva were skiing overnight at a lodge somewhere, so they had the house to themselves, and took full advantage of sprawling across the couches in the living room. Leo nestled into the cushions and smiled as Finn draped a fleece blanket over him, tucking it under Leo’s body.
“There we go,” Finn said. He kissed Leo softly. “A nice Leo burrito.” He sat sideways on Leo’s lap and hugged his shoulders tightly. “How are you feeling, my pretty peanut?”
“Good,” Leo said. Between the sweatshirt, the blanket, and Finn’s fleece-covered shoulder pressing against him, his voice came out muffled. “My face is a little cold, still, and my feet. But I’m okay.”
“Well,” Finn said. “I can do something about that.” He turned his torso slightly and squished Leo’s cheeks, pressing kisses all over his face. His lips were warm and firm, a sharp contrast to Leo’s freezing skin. With a final wet, smacking one to his forehead, Finn leaned back and looked down with a soft grin. “Better?”
Leo nodded. He was smiling so hard his cheeks hurt. “Merci. Where’s Lo?”
“Salut,” Logan said. He came into the room balancing a tray with three cups in one hand and a pair of fuzzy slippers in the other. “Allez, soleil, I brought you something to help with your feet.” He set the tray down and then knelt to the floor to slip the shoes on Leo’s feet. “I figured they would be cold.”
Leo felt his cheeks flush around his smile. Finn laughed and ran a hand through Logan’s hair. “You’re such a sweetheart, huh, ten?”
Logan bit his lip and looked up. He looked happy and content in the soft firelight. “Only sometimes.” He peered around to look at Leo. “You look so cute with your eyes just looking at me like that.”
It was a display of frankness so uncharacteristic of Logan that it made Leo gasp out a giggle, nudging his nose into Finn’s shoulder. “I guess I just got something nice to look at.”
“Ouais, you do,” Logan grinned. He moved to the couch to curl up beside Leo, pushing his warm nose into his neck. He dropped a lingering kiss there. “Thank you for coming snowshoeing with us.”
Leo leaned their heads together and looked up at Finn. “I had fun. Really, I did.” He shivered. “I think I’m just not made for cold weather.”
Logan laughed. “Non. Non, you’re not.” He turned Leo’s face to kiss him gently. “Even though you do look very sweet when you’re all cozy in winter clothes.”
“Yeah,” Finn agreed. He pinched Leo’s nose lightly. “You’re like our own little snugglebug. Soft and squishable and cuddly.”
Leo snorted. “Gee, thanks, Harz.”
“It’s a good thing.” He tucked his face on the other side of Leo’s neck and pressed closer. “I like having a personal snugglebug.” He leaned back to look at Logan and kissed him briefly. “In fact, I got two. Lucky me.”
“Ouais, lucky you.” Logan’s eyes were so fond Leo thought that he would melt into the couch cushions. “Allez, tea time.” He stroked Leo’s belly with a warm hand. “Gotta heat you up from the inside.”
Finn swung his leg over and settled down on Leo’s other side with a final kiss to his cheek. He reached for their tea and handed a cup to each Logan and Leo before taking a sip of his own. His face scrunched in a grimace and he coughed. “Lo. Baby, I love you, so much, but I think this is yours.”
Logan scoffed. “It’s not that bad.”
“I don’t know how you drink that sugar bomb-”
“It’s good-”
“It’s literally pure honey, honey, that is not a perfectly balanced-”
“Oh, mon Dieu, rouge, to me it’s-”
Leo couldn’t help it. Giggles started deep in his belly, warm with the tea, and bubbled upwards until they escaped through his mouth. Logan and Finn stopped abruptly, smiling at him with their mouths open and their foreheads pinched in confusion. Leo looked between the two of them, flushed, and wiggled himself back into the cushions a little bit more.
“Quoi?” Logan asked. He nuzzled into Leo’s neck playfully and nipped at the skin there. “Quoi, what?”
“Nothing,” Leo laughed. “Nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing.” He closed his eyes and tilted his head back. “I’m good. I’m so good.” He sighed. “I’m so, so in love with you.”
He couldn’t see their smiles, but he knew they were there. Just like he knew that they were as happy as he was, that they were as in love as he was. He knew that they were in freefall just like him, floating higher and higher and weightless, up in the clouds and on the beach, watching the rolling, blue seas. Their laughter was the music he swayed to, their eyes the view he pictured when he fell asleep. Their fingers had left marks on his skin, their smiles on his heart. Their lips had caressed every part of him, knew all of him, and Leo was so in love he was vibrating with it. He was shivering, but not because he was cold anymore.
He settled further back into the couch and sighed. One of Finn’s hands was on his thigh, the other’s fingers laced with his own; Logan’s warm palm was under his sweatshirt, rubbing his stomach soothingly, the other up in his hair. He felt everywhere their skin touched acutely, like it was burning him, but not like fire. Or, yes, like fire, but like the fire in front of him: heating him from inside out, igniting this eternal flame inside of him.
Leo opened his eyes to find both of their beautiful faces hovering in front of him. He kissed them each softly and bent all their heads together. “I love you,” he whispered with a smile. “I love you so much. Thank you for taking me snowshoeing."
Finn made a noise in the back of his throat. “Enough of that question.” He hooked his chin over Logan’s shoulder to look Leo in the eyes. “You’re just too gorgeous. We can’t resist you
THE IDEA OF LEO BEING RELUCTANT TO ACCEPT COMPLIMENTS OR AFFECTION BREAK MY HEART
As promised, the bombardment continues!
This was a very interesting prompt to work with, because you can be reluctant to accept love for a myriad of reasons. And there is a huge difference between accepting love and affection, and accepting and being confident in your sexual orientation, which Leo seems pretty sure of (as far as we can interpret from SW, C2C, and Vaincre). If this is you, I understand it's difficult, and you're not alone. Your FinnLo is out there waiting (if that's the relationship you desire, of course)!
Enjoy some Lovernut appreciation! All credits to @lumosinlove <3
Leo hummed quietly to himself as he turned onto the sidewalk. Viv had made a fresh back of ciabatta, and had texted him this morning to come down to the bakery and grab some for sandwiches that week. His boys had kissed him goodbye as they went for a run and he had begun a slow meander down to the park and then the bakery, enjoying the peace of the Gryffindor summer morning. He smiled as he walked back the long way through the park again, watching as the ducks quacked softly in the pond. Their chicks were still young, retaining some of their fluffy feathers, and he broke off a bit of bread to toss to them. They ruffled their feathers and approached him, waddling slowly over to where he was standing on the water’s edge. He cooed softly at them and then stood, leaving them to their snacks. As he was walking away, a sharp whistle sounded behind him.
“What’s cookin’ good lookin’?” a voice called.
Leo rolled his eyes and turned around to see his boys jogging slowly up to him. Finn was smirking sharply as Logan laughed beside him. For the last few meters, Finn sped up and launched himself at Leo, laughing, wrapping him up in his arms and pressing a slightly sweaty kiss to his cheek. “Nutter butter baby!” he sing-songed.
Leo was blushing and a little sheepish. “Sweetheart, you’re gonna cause a scene.”
Finn just gripped his waist and picked him up off the ground slightly, leaving him suspended in the air for a few seconds. His teeth were spread in a bright white smile. “Just let me love you, baby.”
Leo felt his face heat up even more and he ducked his chin with a grin. “Fish-”
“Uh uh,” Finn said. “Nope, none of that.” He set Leo back on the ground and opened up his other arm for Logan to tuck himself against their sides. They were both smiling at him lovingly, Logan’s head against Finn’s shoulder. Finn reached up to stroke Leo’s hair. “We get to love you wherever we want, nutty baby. You’re just too pretty.”
“Oh, stop that-”
“Non,” Logan cut in. He kneaded the skin of Leo’s hip with one of his hands. “Finn’s right. You’re just too pretty.” He stood up on his toes to kiss Leo soundly, and Leo felt warmed through and through. “The prettiest boy in the world.”

Finn watched Leo laughing with the tiny older lady in the grocery store, helping her to reach the zucchini and arugula that were placed on the higher shelves. She commented on his height, then on his strength, which got him blushing good-naturedly. His accent was always stronger with strangers, a lot of ‘yes sirs’ and ‘yes ma’ams’ accompanied with his bashful small talk. He wasn’t as outgoing as Finn, not by a long shot, but he was charming, particularly with elderly people, and was always willing to help. Finn leaned his forearms against their shopping cart and smiled adoringly.
“There you go, ma’am,” Leo said, placing the final bag of vegetables in her basket. “Can I help you reach anything else? You need me to carry something out to your car for you?”
She laughed. “No, dear, but you’re sweet.” She shook her basket and patted his arm. “Just needed a few extra things my husband forgot to get me the other day. I’m off to find some breadcrumbs. You have a lovely day!”
Leo smiled brightly at her. “You, too, ma’am.” He waved her off, then turned to Finn. “Sorry about that honey. What were we looking for, some squash- mph.”
Finn had taken Leo’s face between his palms and kissed him gently, in long, slow strokes that made his body tingly. When he pulled back, Leo was smiling, a bit embarrassed and flushed, and Finn leaned in to kiss him softly once more. “I love you so much, baby,” he whispered. “You’re so good.”
“Oh,” Leo said. He shrugged and blushed even more. “That’s very sweet, thank you.”
“Hey,” Finn urged. He kissed Leo once more, rubbing a palm gently up and down his side. “You are good. You’re so good, and helpful, and kind, sunshine. Lo and I love that about you, okay?”
“Okay,” Leo replied. He rested his forehead on Finn’s shoulder briefly. “I love you.”
“Love you so much.” Finn scratched his scalp a few times then looked at the list in his hand. “Squash time? Then some peppers.”
Leo lifted his still-blushing face from the crook of Finn’s neck. “Yeah,” he said, kissing Finn’s cheek. “Squash time.”
***
Leo looked gorgeous in the golden hour light, Logan thought, tall and tan in the dying summer sun. They’d gone to the local courts to shoot some evening hoops, and now Finn was over at one of the stands in the park getting them some ice cream. Leo’s phone had rung and he had excused himself to talk to Regulus about their plans to go to an amusement park the next day. He was laughing, his head thrown back and his curls long and wild. He had taken his shirt off, too, while playing basketball, and had yet to put it back on. Logan roved his eyes over his body greedily, trying to forever internalize the feeling he got just from looking at him. Leo caught his eye briefly, waving with a wide smile, before saying goodbye to Regulus and hanging up the phone. Really, Leo smiling was a feat that should be illegal: his dimples were deep, his teeth white as snow, and his eyes so bright they could light up the darkest room. Logan sucked in a breath and walked up to him.
“Hi, sweetheart,” Leo said. “Sorry, I was just talking to Reg. I’ll be taking one of the cars early in the morning, if that’s okay?”
Logan didn’t say anything, just gripped the back of Leo’s hair and pulled him down into a kiss. Leo made a startled noise, but quickly settled into it, cupping Logan’s hips gently with his hands. Logan sighed, his body listing into Leo’s, his kisses deep and sloppy and, more than anything, irrevocably in love.
When they pulled back, Leo’s brow was furrowed, as if trying to chase Logan’s mouth, but he was smiling. “What was that for, sweetheart?”
“Because I love you.” Logan tilted his head. “Why do you always ask that?”
Leo took a surprised breath, but didn’t have the chance to say anything as Finn approached with their ice cream. “Okay, I got a couple for us to share: chocolate and Moose Tracks, your favorites, babes.” He stopped talking abruptly upon looking at their faces. “What’s wrong, what’s happening?”
Logan just pulled Leo closer. “Was just asking Le why he’s always so surprised.”
Finn was confused. “Surprised by what?”
“When you show me affection,” Leo said warily.
Finn looked between the two of them before settling his eyes on Leo. “Are you surprised when we show you affection? I didn’t think you were.”
“Non.” Logan shook his head. “Like, when we surprise him with it. When we don’t… je ne sais pas-”
“When there’s no reason for it,” Leo finished for him. He took a deep breath. “It surprises me when you show me affection when there’s no reason for it.”
Finn looked a little shocked and he set their ice cream down on a picnic table beside them. “What- we need a reason for it? Baby, the reason is because we love you, I- do you feel like you only deserve affection when you- when you’ve earned it?”
Leo bit the inside of his cheek, eyes nervous and flitting around the park. His red cheeks and silence were all Finn and Logan needed.
“Whoa,” Finn said. His voice was a little panicked. “Whoa, Le, baby, that’s not true.” He took Leo’s face in his hands to force him to look at him. “That’s not true.”
“Soleil,” Logan said. Leo’s pulse was fast underneath his thumb. “Why do you think that?”
“I don’t know.” Leo’s voice was small and timid. He rolled his eyes at himself. “I’m sorry, I don’t know.”
“Is it Jack?” Logan asked, voice low. He couldn’t help but see red. “Did he make you feel that way?”
“I- maybe. Yeah, probably.” Leo took a shaky breath. “He only ever showed me affection if I did the right thing for him.”
“The right thing?” Finn asked.
“Like,” Leo started. He was clutching at Logan’s lower back as if to gound himself. “Like, if I helped him with homework. Or if I didn’t touch him in public. Just doing things by his terms and his rules is what got me affection, so I guess…” He paused, looking down at his feet. “I guess I feel I need to earn it. To deserve it somehow.”
Finn sharply inhaled and brushed Leo’s cheek with his nose. “Oh, my love,” he whispered. Logan looked up. Finn only called them each that in the most delicate moments, and only ever in private. “Oh, I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry he made you feel that way, but that’s not true with us. You don’t have to do anything for us to love you- we love you for who you are, sweetheart.”
“Ouais,” Logan agreed softly. He tucked his face into Leo’s chest. “Mon coeur, mon soleil. Je t’aime, I love you just as you are. Je t’aime, je t’aime, je t’aime.”
Leo let out a defeated breath and rested his head on top of Logan’s. “I’m sorry.”
“No,” Finn said firmly, shaking his head hard. “No apologies. We’ll make sure to tell you more, make sure to do more, to let you know how much we want you. Just for you. We want you just as you are, nothing more, nothing less.” He kissed Leo’s blushing cheek. “You are perfect for us just the way you are, Le.”
“Parfait,” Logan whispered with a kiss to Leo’s bare skin. “Tu es parfait pour nous.”
“I love you,” Leo said. He pulled back and kissed them each gently. They didn’t stray far from one another, Logan and Finn with their arms around Leo’s body and Leo with an arm around each of them. “I’ll… I’ll work on being better at accepting love, I think. I want it- I like it.”
Finn smiled up at him. “Good, baby.” He bit at Leo’s neck. “Because I plan on giving you a lot of it.”
“Moi aussi,” Logan said. “Moi aussi, mon coeur. You deserve all the love.”
Leo just smiled, then nodded to their ice cream. “Let’s eat this before it melts. I didn’t just bear my feelings to then let my Moose Tracks become a soup.”
“Ouais,” Logan laughed. “That’d be a shame.”
“C’mere, lovers,” Finn told them. He sat down at the picnic table and held up a singular spoon with a mischievous grin. “I’ll even feed it to you.”
Logan and Leo laughed, sitting beside one another across from Finn and accepting spoonfuls of slightly melted ice cream on their tongues. It turned Leo’s kisses sweet and chocolatey, and Logan couldn’t get enough. When they eventually finished it all, Finn and Logan made a big show of kissing his cheeks before grabbing their backpacks and making their way back to their apartment.
The entire way, Finn and Logan had their arms wrapped around Leo’s waist and Logan, for one, didn’t want to move ever again. He smiled and leaned against Leo’s shoulder as the city got darker, watching as Leo accepted periodic kisses to his neck by Finn and turned to press his nose into Leo’s bicep. And when they eventually got into bed, showered and in pajamas, Logan laid himself on top of Leo’s body and watched as Finn watched them both, a palm rubbing up and down Logan’s side and the fingers of his other hand in Leo’s hair. Leo was gazing back at him, quiet, but eyes a shining blue in the dark.
“I’m so lucky,” Finn whispered. “You’re so gorgeous.” He kissed each of their foreheads gently before laying his head on his pillow with a gentle smile. “Gonna give you all the loving.”
“Ouais,” Logan sighed. He closed his eyes and nestled into Leo’s chest. “Ouais, mes amours. All the love. All the love for you always.”
Then they fell into their most contented sleep of the summer, a loving tangle of limbs and bodies, with no alarm set for the morning.
I agree with Leo- we have to put some more respect on ratatouille. No more of this rat-patootie stuff.

“Do you find me wise yet, nutter butter baby?”
Leo snorted at Finn, whose arms were wrapped underneath Leo’s from behind and attempting to help cook. He was stirring the pot with his left hand and holding the zucchini with his right as Leo chopped it.
“I really don’t think this is effective, Harz.”
“But I’m stirring the onions and garlic! So they don’t burn, like you taught us. And, at the same time, you’re chopping the zucchini and we are cuddling. Win-win-win solution.”
“What’s the third win?”
Finn bonked his head against Leo’s back. “The first is the cuddling, obviously.” He bit at Leo’s shoulder when Leo laughed again. “I’m not done. The first is the cuddling, second is the stirring, and the third is the zucchini chopping.”
“I’m pretty sure we could stir and chop standing separately.”
Finn groaned. “Nutty, but then we’d be standing separately. Now we get to be a homogenous blob.”
That got a real laugh out of Leo, one of his tinkling ones that shook his whole body. “I don’t know if it’s wise, sweetheart, but it’s sure ingenious.”
“Well, you’re engaged to this genius, baby. So no take-backs, no return policy.”
Leo finished chopping the zucchini and put it in the pan. “I’m pretty sure that only applies after we sign the wedding certificate.”
“Tomato, tom-ahto, point is you’re stuck with me for eternity.”
Leo paused his movements and turned in Finn’s arm to plant a kiss on his mouth. “What a shame, then.”
“Hm,” Finn hummed, plying Leo’s lips open with his own. He broke apart. “Shoot, sorry, I stopped stirring.”
Leo giggled. “I got this, honey. Go pour us some wine?”
Finn stepped back with a kiss to Leo’s shoulder and a shimmy towards their wine cabinet. “Speaking my language, baby.” He took out a red. “What are we having again? Rat-patootie?”
Finn couldn’t see Leo’s eye roll, but he knew it was there. “That joke gets less funny every time you say it.”
Finn grinned at his back. “It’s a good movie. Endless possible quotes.”
“Whatever you say, O’Hara, just no disrespect on my ratatouille,” Leo retorted, opening the oven to check on the rosemary chicken.
“Wouldn’t dream of it, Le,” Finn said, pouring each of them a glass. “When’s Lo supposed to get here?”
“He said eight,” Leo replied, adding tomatoes to his pan. “He’s going to take a cab. I offered to pick him up at the airport, but he said they were going to the hotel first to watch some tape, so he’ll be here after that.”
“That’s right,” Finn said, leaning on the counter and appreciating the view of Leo’s back. “Our little Canadian rival.”
Leo sent him an exasperated smile. “You say that like it’s a dramatic novel or something.”
Finn shrugged. “Maybe it is. Enemies to lovers? Friends to lovers? Strangers to friends to lovers to friends to falling in love with a hot ass rookie goalie to lovers?”
That drew another laugh out of Leo, which made Finn smile. He loved making Leo laugh, loved making his curls shake and his dimples show themselves. He looked so good, in his maroon shirt and jeans, making dinner for themselves and Logan on a cool early-October night. Like a romantic angel.
“You wanna write that novel, Harz?”
Finn bit his lip around his happiness. “Nah, baby, I’d rather live it.” He blew Leo a kiss. “I love you.”
That made Leo blush, which in Finn’s opinion was just as good, if not better than making him laugh. “You’re lucky I love you, you romantic sap.”
“No returns.”
They were still giggling when the sound of keys scraping the lock sounded at the door. Both of their heads jerked up just as Logan entered, all gorgeous in his traveling suit pants and a white button-down, his overnight bag and jacket hanging from his shoulder. He looked up and smiled at them. “Salut.”
Finn let out a whoop and ran over to scoop Logan up in his arms, lifting him excitedly off his feet by the waist. Logan was laughing in his ear delightedly, and was still smiling when Finn set him down to kiss him deeply. Finn broke apart to press his lips all over his face. “Baby’s home, baby’s home. Missed you, baby-baby.”
“Ouais, rouge, missed you, too,” Logan sighed. His hand was scratching Finn’s scalp and Finn leaned into the touch briefly. “Soleil?”
“Over here, honey.”
Leo was still standing by the stove and watching them as Logan took off his shoes. He slid over softly and stepped gingerly onto Leo’s feet, wrapping his arms around Leo’s neck to pull him into a kiss. Finn followed with an arm around Logan’s back, pressing soft kisses to Logan’s shoulder. Logan sighed contentedly as Leo moved down to kiss his neck. Leo wrapped his arms around Logan’s waist to hug him. “Missed you, Tremz.” He sighed into Logan’s skin. “Love you.”
“Mm, je t’aime,” Logan said. He rested his lips to Leo’s shoulder. “What’re you making, Le? Smells amazing.”
“Rat-patootie,” Finn said, smirking.
This time, Finn got a full few of Leo’s eye roll. “Ratatouille, Fish. And roasted rosemary chicken.”
“Délicieux,” Logan said, pressing a few soft kisses to Leo’s neck. “Allez, I’m going to shower and change. Ten minutes.” He gave each of them a last kiss before grabbing his bag and heading towards the bathroom. Along the way, he stripped himself of his pants, shirt, and undershirt, leaving a trail of clothes behind him with a smirk. Finn narrowed his eyes.
“You trying to start something there, ten?”
Logan just bit his lip and looked up through his lashes. “Non. Je vais juste prendre une douche.” He disappeared into the bathroom.
Finn breathed out heavily. “That little fucker. Leaving a mess and totally getting away with it.”
Leo just looked at him. “You’d let him do anything as long as he did it naked.”
“Well,” Finn said. “Usually he does fun things when he’s naked.” He grabbed Leo’s hand, spun him, and pulled him to his chest. “You, too, if memory serves.”
Leo kissed him briefly. “Mm, it does.” He pulled away and turned to the stove. “But right now I am making a masterpiece, so clothes will be staying on.”
“Damn.”
While Leo set about finishing dinner, Finn threw Logan’s discarded clothes in the hamper and got out the plates and silverware, lighting a few candles, too. He poured himself another glass of wine, and one for Logan for when he returned. Then he sat by the counter, making gentle conversation with Leo as he tested the chicken with a thermometer and toasted some fresh rolls from the bakery down the street. Finn loved these nights, the domestic and quiet ones, where there was nowhere to go and nothing urgent to be done. He loved it even more when they were all together, Logan’s mere presence in their apartment settling something in his shoulders. He could tell Leo felt the same; he smiled more freely when Logan was around, jaw less tense, and sleep came easier. It was hard sometimes, being separated, especially with Logan’s contract extended. It hadn’t looked like the Lions were going to make a successful offer, so they had decided that it was better that Logan stayed where he was instead of taking a gamble that could send him potentially across the country. It was better than most alternatives, but Finn still cherished these moments when his home was full. Full of love for his boys, for their smiles, the way they smelled, the way they laughed. He himself was so full of love sometimes he didn’t know what to do with it.
Arms wrapped around his shoulders, and he turned to find Logan in Leo’s navy sweater and dark jeans. “Mon rouge.”
Finn leaned his head back onto Logan’s shoulder. “I love you, baby.”
Logan kissed him upside down. “Je t’aime.” He looked at Leo’s back. “Salut, soleil.”
Leo turned to look at them. “Hi, honey.” He tilted his head, a small smile on his face. “Missed seeing you together.”
Finn smiled, too, as Logan pressed a kiss to his cheek. “You look good, peanut.”
“Ouais.”
“Bet I’d look even better without clothes, huh?”
Logan and Finn laughed as Leo turned away, fussing with the pans before turning back. “C’mon, bring the plates over. I’ll serve it from the stove.”
It was delicious, as all things Leo cooked were. Finn could taste the thyme of the ratatouille, the juicy dark meat of the chicken leg, his favorite. Logan kept making appreciative noises. His first bite had had him moaning, eyes closed. “Mon Dieu, soleil. Missed your cooking so much,” he had said, before promptly going in for a second, larger bite.
Leo looked pleased with their feedback, as he always did when they complimented him. His cheeks flushed red, and his shoulders did a happy little shrug. It was unbearably adorable.
After, when Logan and Finn had cleaned the kitchen, they set about getting ready for bed, anxious to be close to one another again. Logan sought out a pair of Finn’s pajama pants and Leo’s sweatshirt, both of which pooled at the ends of his limbs. He had wrapped his arms around Leo’s waist while waiting for the two of them to finish brushing their teeth, pressing kisses to Leo’s spine and Finn’s shoulder. Finn just smiled at Leo in the bathroom mirror.
When they finally made it to the bed, Logan squished himself in the middle, pulling Finn’s head to his chest and tucking himself into Leo’s side. He sighed happily, closing his eyes briefly. “Feels like so long since I’ve been in our bed,” he murmured.
Leo, who was tracing patterns on his abs, pressed a kiss to his shoulder. “Yeah, sweetheart, I know.”
Logan sighed heavily. “Do you ever think…”
At his tone, Finn looked up, pushing himself up on his forearms and steadying himself with one hand on Leo’s torso. “What, Lo, baby?”
Logan pushed his head further back into the pillows. “Do you ever think that it’s- it’s too hard doing this sometimes?”
Red lights flared in Finn’s head, and Leo took in a sharp breath. “Honey, what are you-”
“Logan,” Finn blurted out. “Logan, uh-uh.”
Logan shook his head hard, eyes widening in realization. He looked up at Leo. “Merde, désolé. Non, non, I wasn’t going to say that.” He took Finn’s head in his hands, pressing a hard kiss between his eyebrows. “Rouge, désolé, I’m sorry. Non, non, not ever.”
“Jesus,” Finn said, flopping down on Logan’s chest. “You almost put me in cardiac arrest.”
Logan laughed a little. “Non, non, we can’t have that.”
“Lo,” Leo interrupted, eyes still serious. “What did you mean, seriously?”
Logan sucked at his teeth briefly, pausing. “I meant- what if I retired?”
Finn couldn’t help the gasp. “What? No, Lo, you don’t need to do that.”
Logan looked at him, brow furrowed. “But I- it’s hard, non? Living apart for so long,” he said. “And us not being together is not an option.” He grumbled the last bit, in that Logan way that was somehow grumpy and loving at the same time.
Leo just looked at him, eyebrows raised. “You don’t need to go zero to a hundred, Tremblay.”
“Ouais, je sais,” Logan said. “I just- I miss being home with you guys. And it is hard. I just- I don’t know how many years I can keep doing this.”
“Well,” Leo said, holding himself up on one elbow. “Let’s set a time limit, then.”
Finn and Logan looked at him. “Quoi?” Logan asked.
Leo cocked his head. “Let’s set a time limit. I’ll be a free agent at the end of three years, and Logan, your contract only has three more years on it as well- both including this year. And Finn…” he paused. “Well, yours is up at the end of the season, so we can see about renegotiating a contract with Gryff, or if not, then with New York.” His eyes focused. “We are together- the league knows that. Whether or not they like it, that is a factor in our contract negotiations. And we’ve been doing the distance thing for just over 3 years now, which hasn’t been easy. We’ve done our time.” He put a hand on Logan’s hip. “But none of us are ready to throw the towel in quite yet, nor should we have to. So, let’s say about three years. Three more years of this, of riding out what’s left for each of us with our respective organizations, and then we renegotiate. Together.”
Finn considered for a moment, then nodded. “Okay. Okay, yeah, we can do that. I can do that. Lo?”
Logan traced a hand down Leo’s cheek. “You’re so smart, soleil.” He looked at Finn’s eyes. “Three more years.”
Leo let out a shaky breath. “I know it’s not ideal, but…”
Finn brought him down for a kiss. “No, but it’s a plan. It’s an ending.” He kissed Logan, too, then smiled. “I love hockey, but I have my limits. We have our limits. And we’re getting married.” He traced patterns on their skin. “You both are more important to me than anything else, and like it or not, I’m always gonna put you before some stupid, made up game.”
Logan gasped, then pinched his side. “Non, Harzy. Ne dis pas ça.”
“Nom nom nom.”
Leo laughed. “You got your point across, Harz, I think.”
Finn laughed at the burst of kisses Leo pressed to his neck. “I’m very wise, Leonardo.”
That made Leo full-body laugh again, and he laid himself down on the other side of Logan’s chest. After a minute, he began kissing along Logan’s ribs, open-mouthed and hot against the skin. Logan flushed. “Soleil.”
Finn was getting warmer just looking at them. Leo looked up from a mark he was making on the outside of Logan’s torso, his signature sly grin on his face. “I think Finn said something about fun, naked acitivites.”
They both moved their gazes over to him, and Finn gave a serious set of nods. “Yes. Yes, yes I absolutely did.” He kissed down Logan’s neck. “Naked, very naked activities. Fucking gorgeous boys.”
And with Logan laughing breathlessly under him and Leo kissing along his spine with a smile, Finn thought that this was the wisest decision of them all.
Absolutely live for finnlo reassuring leo that they don’t want to get married without him I think something like that happened in vaincre didn’t it? I have been looking for the name of a fic that had that in it or the chapter of vaincre that happened in for ages and I can never find it
Hi there! I believe it's the same chapter that Finn gets a concussion (yikes!). So probably one of the later May chapters. :)
You’re my favorite o’knutzy writer at the moment! I need to know if you know about the head canon that Leo was a dancer for years and that’s why he’s so flexible! I loveee this! Just imagine him constantly spinning or leaping unprompted or instinctively pointing his foot
Some professional athletes, like NFL players, do do ballet to help with balance, flexibility, mobility, and strength! So enjoy this little thing I wrote taking a break from homework- finals are no joke in college. Thanks for the ask! <3
Also, let's show some appreciation for français louisiane! It's not a common language anymore, and I like to think that Leo's parents grew up in a more rural area outside of NOLA where Cajun French was spoken a lot, before they moved to the city and had Leo. I imagine that they did everything to make sure Leo spoke it as much as possible. Hence, French ballet classes for our little sunshine!

Leo was not normally a fan of keeping secrets from his boys. In fact, he was generally staunchly against the notion. They told each other everything eventually- all the little details about their childhoods, Finn and Logan about their years at Harvard, Leo about his high school life. But sometimes things were forgotten, or just didn’t come up naturally in conversation, and somehow, Leo’s mother had a special knack for unearthing elements of his past that he would rather not be revealed until the precise moment that he wanted them to be.
Like right now.
“Oh, look at what I found!” Eloise exclaimed. She was sitting at the dining room across from Finn and going through old boxes of photos. Leo had initially resisted with a blushing, stammering refusal, but she and Finn had double-teamed him until he conceded. “Look at you in your leotard, you sweet little boy.”
Leo’s head jerked up abruptly, his eyes widening. Beside him, Logan was also looking at Eloise from where he was helping Leo prepare lunch in the kitchen. Finn had started moving to sit beside her. Leo knew the photo that they were looking at, the one from when he was about eight, all dressed up for dance class with his leotard and tights, his curls wild and golden and his face still slightly chubby.
Leo shook his head. “Oh, no, mama-”
“You were so cute, honey. Boys, c’mere.”
“No,” Leo gasped. He grabbed at Logan’s arm. “No, no, no, oh my God. Wait-”
But Logan’s smile was teasing, and he moved over to sit on Eloise’s other side. When he sat down his grin turned adoring and his eyes sparkled. “Oh, mon soleil. Tres mignon.”
“Ouais,” Eloise replied. She was giggling. “He used to love wearing his leotard.”
Finn looked up at Leo, who’s eyes were like saucers. “Why didn’t you tell us you did ballet, baby?”
Leo rubbed his hand over his face and stayed by the counter. “Because it’s embarrassing.”
Logan shook his head. “Non. Non, it’s not. When did you stop?”
Eloise smirked. “He still comes with me to the studio when he visits sometimes.”
Finn’s mouth fell open. “What? But we’ve never seen you go!”
Leo groaned. “That’s because I only go when I come here without you guys.”
“Or when he ‘comes with me to the grocery store’ when you all visit.”
Finn barked at a laugh as Leo flushed even more. “Mama. That was our secret.”
“Oops,” Eloise shrugged. “Better now than later.” She stood up and kissed Leo on the cheek with a smile. “I’ll go bring the sandwiches out onto the porch. Y’all come join me when you’re done here.” She picked up the tray Leo and Logan had prepared and whisked out of the room, her linen pants swishing.
Finn got up and came to wrap his arms around Leo’s waist. “Why did you hide ballet from us, sweetheart?”
Leo was so embarrassed. “It just- I started when I was, like, three? It was to help with balance and flexibility. And then I started doing it pretty seriously in the off-season once I decided to be a goalie. Never competitions or anything, just classes. French ones, too. It’s how I kept it up when I wasn’t speaking it at school as much.”
“Ouais,” Logan said, still looking at the photo. “That makes sense, soleil.”
“I know, but…” Leo sighed. “It’s still just a bit embarrassing.”
“Why, sweetheart?” Finn asked. He pressed a few kisses to Leo’s neck.
“I don’t know,” Leo replied. “It’s just- it’s such a stereotype. The gay boy doing dance and stuff.” Leo felt tears start to well up in his eyes. “I was already struggling so much with being gay and playing hockey as a teenager, and I think- sometimes I wanted to stop doing ballet to just, I don’t know, distance myself from it.”
“From what?” Logan asked, eyebrows furrowed. He also stood up, pocketing the photo, and came to wrap his arms around Leo and bury his face in his chest.
Leo rested his own arms around the small of Logan’s back. “From being gay, I guess. For a while, until I realized that I didn’t want to hide.” He sniffled. “I think that ballet sometimes just brings up all that shame I felt when I was younger, in middle school, when I realized I didn’t like girls.”
Finn was stroking his hair back from his face. “But do you like it, Le?”
Leo looked to him and a few tears fell. Finn caught them with his thumb. “Yeah.”
Finn smiled and kissed him briefly. “Then let’s look for classes in Gryff.”
Leo bit his lip. “Really?”
“Oui,” Logan said. He tilted his head up to rest on Leo’s collarbone. “It helps you, non?”
“Yeah,” Leo said. “Yeah, it really does. And I really like it.”
Logan reached up to grab his hair and bring his mouth down to be kissed. “D’accord. Then we find classes.” He kissed him hard again. “And I’m sorry you felt you had to hide it. But we won’t ever judge you for that.”
“I’m sorry for hiding it,” Leo replied. His boys were looking at him so lovingly, holding him so tightly, and he was so warm. “I shouldn’t have done that.”
Finn shook his head. “It’s alright baby. It was a hard thing to bring up.” He grinned mischievously. “But now we know how you got so flexible.”
Leo snorted. “That’s also because I’m a goalie, Harz. We kinda have to be.”
Finn shrugged. “Hey, it’s not a bad thing. I certainly reap the benefits.”
“Finn,” Leo chastised. “My mama is out there.”
“Oh, like she doesn’t know that already.” Finn pressed a burst of kisses to his cheek. “We’re young and in love, what does she think happens when we close the bedroom door?”
“Fish,” Logan laughed. “Non, we’re going to be kicked out.”
“No we won’t,” Finn countered. “She loves us.”
“I love you,” Leo said. He was smiling and kissed each of their foreheads. “I love you.”
“We love you so much, mon coeur,” Logan said. He was soft and heavy in Leo’s arms.
“We do, baby,” Finn agreed. He bit at Leo’s jaw. “And I’ll love you even more if you do the splits for us tonight.”
“Jesus, Harz,” Leo said. He rolled his eyes hard, but he was blushing. “Let’s go, mama’s waiting for us with the sandwiches. I’ll grab the tea.”
“Non” Logan said. He batted Leo’s hands away, took them, and kissed the backs of each of them. “Non, you go. I got it.”
Leo smiled and watched as Logan puttered around the kitchen, getting a tray and a stack of glasses to go with the pitcher. Finn was behind Leo with his palms low on his back, kissing the top of his spine and shepherding him out to the porch where his mama was waiting. When they stepped out of the door, she looked up from her book and grinned. “Ça va?”
“Ouais,” Leo said. He gazed at his boys, who were bickering quietly about where to place the tea tray on the table, and smiled. “C’est bien
I don’t know if you’ve ever seen this: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8NASMSn/ clip of baby Taylor swift but it gave me SUCH baby leo vibes the way she says “thank you!…thanks for saying that!” and it just made me think of the cubs watching each others home videos
I am not going to lie- I am not a Taylor Swift fan, nor am I really on TikTok. And I don't pay much attention to celebrities in general, so I DEFINITELY don't get the reference, BUT I love love LOVE home movies. My parents have some of my brothers and I that I love, so I thought it'd be cool to have an O'Hara Brother Feature.

“Oh-ho, look at these gems,” Finn laughed. He had a box open in front of him on the ground, laden with VHS tapes in his parent’s Hamptons house living room. “A blast from the past.”
“Quoi?” Logan asked. He came up behind Finn to put a hand on his back, glass of wine held in the other. “What are those?”
“These, my baby, are old family movies.” Finn smiled at the dates scribbled on the back. “Oh man, we gotta put these in. I think we still have the VHS player under the TV.”
“Ouais,” Logan said, kissing the top of his head. It smelled salty like the sea, and musky, like Finn. “I’ll go get Le.”
“Mm,” Finn hummed. “Tell him to get out of the kitchen and sit down. He’s doing too much.”
Logan laughed and straightened. “I’ll try, but your mother’s recipe book collection is hard to pull him away from.”
Sure enough, when he entered the large kitchen, Leo was sat at the granite countertop on a barstool, humming to himself and flipping through one of Haley’s cookbooks. He had an entire stack of a half dozen in front of him, and a piece of paper that he kept tearing up and using to create bookmarks. Logan watched his back fondly for a moment before sidling up to him and kissing his cheek. “What are you reading, soleil?”
“Falafel fritters with a tomato and carrot cream,” Leo said. He didn’t even turn to look at Logan, eyes focused on the page. “It’s in this new vegan book Haley got, I think I’ll make it as an appetiser tomorrow.”
“Ouais, sounds good,” Logan replied. He pressed soft kisses to the skin under Leo’s ear. “Leo.”
“One second.” Leo’s eyes were still glued to the recipe and he ripped some paper to make a bookmark, then turned to drape his arms over Logan’s shoulders. “Hi. Hi, sweetheart, hi.” He kissed Logan softly. “Sorry, I’ve been so focused.”
“Non, it’s good,” Logan said gently with a smile. He ran a palm up and down Leo’s side. “You’re so relaxed. You sleep better here.”
Leo nodded. “I think it’s the air. And the food. I like having time to cook more.” He perked up and turned to another cookbook. “Which reminds me, I also saw this Yemeni recipe for lamb, it looks really good.” He flipped through a few pages, brows furrowed, and Logan leaned his head on his shoulder. “I can’t remember what page it’s on, I’m sure I bookmarked it-”
“Ouais, mon coeur, sounds good,” Logan murmured into his skin. He took the book gently from Leo’s hands and set it down. “We can go to the farmer’s market tomorrow for vegetables and to the butcher’s the next town over. And there’s the spice shop right beside it, ouais?”
Leo was nodding. He ran a hand through Logan’s hair. “Ouais, sounds good.” He took Logan’s glass for a sip of wine and then set it on the counter. “C’mere,” he said, folding Logan into a hug. With Leo sat down like that, they were closer in height, and it was easier for Logan to tuck his face into his neck. Leo let out a deep sigh. “I’m so happy here. I feel so much better.”
“I know,” Logan whispered. He felt the tension in his muscles ease. “You’re so beautiful here.” He pulled back to kiss Leo gently a few times then took his hands. “C’mon. Fish found some home movies he wants to show us.”
“Oh yeah?” Leo asked, eyebrows raised in amusement. He turned to organize the cookbooks back together. “Can’t miss that. You want more wine, honey?”
Logan shook his head. “Non, merci.” He looped his arms around Leo’s neck when he turned around. He stood on Leo’s socked feet with a smile. “Just you. You and rouge.”
Leo grinned at him walked them a few steps before grabbing Logan under his thighs and picking him up. Logan gasped out a laugh and squeeze Leo’s hips with his thighs. “Soleil.”
“It’s the vacation bliss, honey,” he said matter-of-factly. His blue eyes were twinkly and happy. “Let’s go see our boy.”
Back in the living room, Finn had seemingly figured out how to work the VHS player and was flicking the television on. He smiled up from the couch when they came in. “Hello, lovers.” He raised his eyebrows. “Lo, did you somehow lose function in your feet on vacation?”
“Non,” Logan said. Leo brought him closer to the couch and he gently transferred himself from Leo’s arms and onto the cushions. “Non, but vacation means I get to be carried around.”
“And what about our Leo?” He patted his lap. “Come sit, sunshine.”
“Hi,” Leo said as he straddled Finn’s waist. “What’d you find, sweetheart?”
Finn caressed Leo’s ribs. “Home movies of Al and I when we were little. I wanna watch them.” He leaned in to kiss Leo softly, and Logan loved how gentle he always was with them. “Having fun being a personal climbing gym?”
Leo laughed, his face flushing. “Loads,” he said. “If you can be mine.”
“Count on it baby, hold on.”
Finn abruptly stood up, clutching one hand under Leo’s thigh and the other around his back, and dipped him towards the ground. Leo’s face was red with laughter and his curls hung freely away from his head as he tilted it back. “Fish, your back-”
“You’re not hurting me,” Finn said through his snickering, love written all over his face as he bent to kiss at Leo’s neck exaggeratedly. “I could just eat you for dessert.”
“No,” Leo laughed, his biceps flexing where they were wrapped around Finn’s shoulders.
“No?” Finn asked incredulously. He straightened and boosted Leo higher in his arms with a pout. “What do you mean, ‘no’? Logan and I love eating you for dessert.” He turned to look at Logan. “Isn’t that right, Lo, baby?”
“Ouais, my favorite,” Logan sighed with a soft smile. He brought his feet up under him and tilted his head to lay back against the cushions. “Allez, ici.”
Finn placed another kiss on Leo’s cheek and sat back down on the couch, Leo swinging a leg around to settle down on his other side. Logan threw his legs across their laps and poked Leo’s thigh with his toes. “Le.”
Leo snorted but massaged his arches with his thumbs. “What excuse do you have for foot rubs? I thought they stopped functioning.”
Logan just looked up at him through his eyelashes. “Non, they didn’t. They’re sore.”
Leo just kissed his ankle.
Meanwhile, Finn had switched over to the right input on the TV. He briefly lifted Logan’s legs up to go to the player and press ‘play’, then sat back down with an excited little shimmy. “I have no idea how long these are, but the date should be when I was about a year and a half and Alex about five. Should be pretty funny.”
Leo chuckled. “I bet. You’ve both been trouble makers since you were born.”
“Hush,” Finn said teasingly. “I am an esteemed gentleman.”
“Non,” Logan snorted. “Non, you’re not.” He reached for Finn’s hand and kissed it. “But you’re very sweet.
“Well, we know how you feel about sweet things, huh, sweet thing?” Finn retorted. He rubbed a palm up and down Logan’s thigh. “Oh, shit, it’s loaded.”
They all turned their heads to look at the screen. Logan recognized the O’Hara’s brownstone living room, but there was carpet instead of hardfloor and the video was a bit grainy. Ramsey was sat on the floor, hair a little bit less gray and thicker, but still that deep auburn that was signature to the O’Hara’s. He had black glasses with overly large rectangular frames, and his eyes were trained on the foam blocks in front of him. Beside him was-
“Oh, sweetheart,” Leo said fondly. “You were so cute! Oh, look at you.”
Finn, no more than a toddler, was sat next to his father in just a pull-up. His face was freckly, all though not as much as in adulthood, and his hair was still red and thick, much thicker than a normal toddler’s. He was a bit chubby and his eyes were still toasty brown and wide, trained on Ramsey as his father tried to demonstrate how to stack blocks on top of one another. Finn was watching him carefully.
“Finn, baby,” Haley, who was filming, said. “Whatcha doing?”
Finn turned and gave her a toothy grin, exactly the same one he gave Logan and Leo every day. “Mama.”
Haley laughed. “Hi, baby. You having fun with dad?”
“Yeah, bud,” Ramsey cooed. He held up a blue rectangle. “Can you stack it for me?”
Finn furrowed his brow and nodded, taking the block from his father and placing it on top of the small pile. He smiled, proud of his work. “Mama, look!”
“I see baby!” Haley laughed. “Can you tell me the colors, please?”
Finn nodded, and rattled them off from bottom to top. Red, blue, yellow, green, pink- he stumbled over the world ‘purple’, which made his father laugh and run a hand over the top of his head. “Purple, buddy.”
“Poi-pur-purple.”
Haley and Ramsey cooed over him again, and he bounced happily where he was sat on the floor- until someone else came into the frame.
“Mom!” a little Alex O’Hara called. “Mom, I don’t know where my skates are. I want to bring them in for show and tell.”
He walked further into the frame then, a spitting image of Finn- or, really, Finn was a spitting image of him- but older and taller. He stopped when he saw his mom with the camera, and went up to hug at her legs eagerly. “Can I see myself?”
“What’s the magic word?” Ramsey asked.
“Please?”
“Sure, honey, hold on.” There was a movement, presumably Haley flipping the little video screen on the side over to display Alex to himself. “There you go, can you see?”
“Yeah, thanks,” Alex said. He was checking himself out in the camera, smoothing his hair back slightly. His eyes brightened suddenly. “Hey, Fishy, come here.”
“Alex, what are you doing?”
“I’m gonna show Finn himself, dad,” Alex said. He went over and scooped his hands under Finn’s armpits. Finn protested slightly, but Alex wrapped his arms around Finn’s chest. “It’s okay, Fish, I got you.” He lifted him up gingerly and waddled him over to the camera. “Look, Finn, look,” he gasped, voice higher. “Look, it’s you! Can’t you see?” He used one hand to point. “Can you see us, Fishy?”
Finn took a second to look, then burst out laughing. “Alex!”
“Yeah,” Alex giggled. “Look at this.” He crossed his eyes and stuck out his tongue, sending Finn into a fit of laughter all over again. Ramsey and Haley were laughing, too, shaking the camera slightly.
“Al, be careful,” Ramsey said. “Don’t squeeze him too hard.”
“I won’t hurt him,” Alex replied, giving Finn a hug. “He’s my baby brother.” He made another face at the camera. “Fishy, make a funny face, too!”
Finn did his best attempt at mimicking his brother, and then the tape went dark.
Logan took a breath, carefully looking over at Finn beside him. He was smiling, a hand brought up to his chin. Leo looked at Logan from across his body and winked, then leaned in to kiss the side of Finn’s head. “You smile exactly the same.”
Finn didn’t say anything for a few seconds. Then, as though he couldn’t help it, he burst out laughing. “Did you see my father’s glasses?” He had to lean back on the couch he was laughing so hard. “Oh my God, and Alex’s shirt? That was bright fucking neon yellow, what an awful fashion statement.”
Logan brought his legs back to tuck under himself and leaned in to scratch at Finn’s scalp. “Ouais, but you were wearing- what do you call them?”
“A pull-up, sweetheart,” Leo said.
“Right, a pull-up.” He grinned against Finn’s jaw. “It barely fit over your chubby thighs.”
“Hey,” Finn said. “I was a baby.”
“I thought your chubby thighs were cute, honey,” Leo said. He also had an arm around Finn, but was massaging at the base of his neck. “I didn’t realize you were that chunky, my Lord.”
“I grew out of it by the time I was four. Then I was a scrawny fucker for a while, jeez.”
Logan bit at his bicep. “Not anymore.”
“Nope, now I’m all muscly for you,” Finn said smugly. “Means I can pick you up.”
Leo laughed. “So you’re muscly so we can use you as our personal climbing gym?”
“I said what I said.”
Leo shook his head. “You’re ridiculous.” He kissed Finn’s cheek. “I love you very much.” He nodded at the T.V. “Let’s put in another tape.”
“Ouais,” Logan said lowly. He looked up through his lashes with a grin. “And then dessert?”
Finn’s whipped his head over to look at him, smiling, then turned to Leo. “I could eat dessert.”
Leo’s face was bright red, but he looked pleased. “Movie first. Then you can eat dessert.”
Logan laughed- he had never seen Finn scramble to stand up so fast.
thoughts on the new chapter????
Oh my Gooooood, so good!
Sirius and Remus make my heart absolutely MELT, and it's also so fun to see them with the Potters and the Lupins and Regulus. They're so cute!! I feel like lots of people focus on the Cubs, but remember, guys, Coops are getting MARRIED!!!!
And obviously the Cubs are so adorable. Poor Finn there for a moment, he was having a tough time. And LEO, him being worried about the season schedule broke my heart just a little. But Logan is so good to them and keeps wanting to be a better partner every day, he loves them so much!!
So excited for the next one!!
first time sending an ask to anyone I am a simple woman I have but a simple request:
Leo in eyeliner feat. Finnlo’s reaction
PLEASE HIS BABY BLUES WOULD LOOK SO GOODDDDD
Indeed, you are a simple woman with a simple request, and a damn good one. Controversial opinion, maybe, but eyeliner is DEFINITELY the sexiest makeup product. And with Leo's BABY BLUES? I propose to you: silver. White. Gray. Black. Brown. Blue. The options are endless.
Enjoy some FinnLo and their brains absolutely shutting down because they are dating an actual ADONIS of a man, holy smokes. They're obsessed. But, then again, who wouldn't be? ALSO, BONUS 'cause Leo is matching Halloween costumes with Katie, and FinnLo's baby fever hearts go BOOM! And props to Layla for her incredible makeup skills, she's the absolute moment. I just KNOW she rocks an incredible golden wing eyeliner, I JUST KNOW IT!!!!!!

“Leo, Leo, come on!”
Leo smiled up at Katie, who was waiting for him patiently on the stairway leading up to the second floor bedrooms. “I’m coming, hun.” He turned to Finn, dressed up as a very handsome prince, if he did say so himself, and gave him a kiss on the nose. “Be right back.”
“‘Kay,” Finn said, patting his hip. “Tell Katie thanks a lot for stealing my sunshine from me and forcing him to do matching costumes with her this year.”
“It’s not just with me, it’s with Layla, too,” Leo laughed, kissing him again. “I love you.”
Finn brushed his blonde hair out of his eyes. “Love you.” He gave Leo’s butt a hard tap. “Go get changed.”
Leo sent him a wink over his shoulder and followed Katie up to her bedroom, where Layla was also waiting. Finn watched him for a moment before he felt a hand come around his waist. “Salut.”
He smiled widely. “Hey.” He turned to face Logan, cupping his face excitedly and pressing kisses to his lips. “How’s my sexy knight?”
Logan laughed against his mouth. “Good.”
Finn made another happy sound and kissed Logan’s cheek. “Thank you for driving up, baby. Sorry it’s not a long visit.”
“Non, it’s okay, I like the Halloween parties.” He rested his forehead against Finn’s shoulder and looked up the stairway. “Like it better when we can all match.”
“Right?” Finn tugged on the cape of Logan’s costume to bring their bodies closer. “Silly Katie stealing our sunshine.” He raised his eyebrows teasingly. “If anything, I would have thought she would steal you from us, not Leo.”
Logan pouted. “Me, too.”
Finn kissed him again with a smile. “C’mon. We have to mingle and stuff while we wait for Le or else we’re just gonna be sad and standing here.”
“But he’s so far.”
Finn just smiled against Logan’s temple and guided him into the kitchen.
An eternity later, but what was really probably only twenty minutes, there were footfalls coming down the staircase. Finn had his arms around Logan’s shoulders, laughing and talking with Thomas and Cole, when Cole suddenly stopped trailed off. His eyes widened. “Holy shit.”
Thomas nudged him playfully and made an oo sound.
Cole just shoved him back. “Shut up.” But he was smiling as he made his way towards Layla. “You look gorgeous,” he said, hands coming down to cup her waist. She did look pretty stunning, Finn thought, in her pirate get-up.
“Thank you,” she said with a proud smile. “Just wait until you see Leo and Katie.”
Finn felt Logan perk up against his chest, his hands coming up to grip Finn’s forearms excitedly. Finn bent down to whisper by his ear. “Calm down.”
“I’m excited.”
“Me, too, just- breathe for a second, baby, you’re getting all worked up.”
Logan flashed dark eyes at him. “What if I want to?”
Finn just rolled his eyes playfully and kissed his cheek. When he pulled away, he was met with crystal blue eyes that were-
“Whoa,” Finn said, a little breathless. “Huh.”
Leo smiled, then turned down to look at Katie. “You think they like our costumes?”
She nodded assuredly. “Yep! I’m gonna go show maman.” Then she was bouncing off her toes and stealing Layla from Cole, presumably going to look for Celeste. The extra fabric of her bandana flapped behind her as she ran to the living room.
Leo turned back to Finn and Logan, spinning around with his hands splayed out. “So? What do you think? Layla sewed some of this, can you believe that?”
But Finn wasn’t paying attention to the clothes, though they did look nice. He instead straightened, Logan shifting to press against just his side, and reached out to rub a thumb under Leo’s eye. “Huh,” he said again. “What…?”
Leo blushed. “Katie insisted. She wanted my eyes to look like Jack Sparrow’s, but Layla took a little more creative freedom than that. Said silver would look good with the blue.”
“She was right.” Finn leaned in a little to look closer at the silver around Leo’s eyes. It made his blue irises look piercing. He could feel heat working its way down his lower back. “Jesus.”
Leo bit his lip in amusement. “Your ears are red.” He looked at Logan and laughed, reaching out to brush the back of his fingers over his cheeks. “Oh, honey.”
Finn looked down at Logan, too, who was partially hiding his face in Finn’s shoulder, green eyes dark and wanting, a flush blooming on the high of his cheeks. The look he was giving Leo was so devastating that Finn had to have a serious mental talk with his body.
“Si beau,” Logan whispered. He reached a hand out and Leo came willingly, allowing Logan, too, to press his thumb to the delicate skin under his eye. Logan let out a groan. “Soleil.”
“You’re okay,” Leo whispered, leaning down to kiss Logan softly. “All okay, sweetheart.”
“Non, je t’aime, let’s go, let’s leave.”
Leo barked out a laugh, straightening. “Absolutely not. I did not get all dressed up for a party to then immediately leave. I haven’t even had a drink yet.”
“Sunshine, I’ll buy you any drink you want if we leave right now,” Finn said. “In fact, I’ll literally lick it off your body, or you can lick it off mine, or Logan’s, I just- come on.”
Leo looked amused at Finn’s tone, which had become a little high at the end of his ramble. “Baby,” he said lowly, which was not helping Finn nor Logan whatsoever. He held up two fingers with a mischievous grin. “Two hours. Long enough to be polite, late enough to justify leaving, and early enough to go back home and have hot sex for as long as you want.”
Both Finn and Logan took a sharp breath in at Leo’s forwardness. Logan’s hands were busy fiddling with Leo’s costume. “Soleil.”
Leo just winked, kissed them both, and turned towards the living room. “I am going to find my other pirates. I love you.” Then he and his crystal clear blue eyes were walking away and leaving Finn and Logan desperate in the entryway.
Logan groaned, bumping his head against Finn’s shoulder. “Oh no.”
“I agree, oh no.” Finn wrapped an arm around his shoulders. “Oh, we are so done for.”
“Ouais. He looks so fucking good, I can’t-” Logan cut himself off with another groan and looked up at Finn pleadingly. “Finn.”
Finn ran a hand over his own face. “Okay,” he said. “Okay, game plan.” He counted off on his fingers. “We set a timer, two hours exactly. No later. We make nice and polite chit-chat with all of our friends that we love very dearly to distract ourselves.” He pressed their foreheads together and lowered his voice. “Then when the timer goes off on my watch, we get Leo, drag him and his sexy blue eyes out of here, and I reasonably break the speed limit to get us in bed and get him naked as fast as possible.”
“Not completely naked,” Logan said with a smile. “Not with that eyeliner.”
“Oh, for sure, not completely naked. That stuff is staying on, and I am asking Layla where she got it.”
Logan laughed, then kissed Finn slowly. “D’accord. D’accord, let’s do this.” He let out a heavy sigh. “This will be the longest two hours of our lives.”
“Oh for sure,” Finn agreed, pulling back to fiddle with his watch. “And the timer starts… now.” He straightened and held out his hand for Logan to take. “Now, my knight in shining armor, please escort me to the kitchen. Those ribs smell delicious, and we need lots of sustenance for tonight.” He craned his head and caught sight of golden curls. “And I see our pirate bombshell in there waiting for us. We might not leave for two hours, but that doesn’t mean we’re staying far away from him the whole time. Gotta have our eyes on the prize.”
“Ouais,” Logan said with one of his secret little smiles. He squeezed Finn’s fingers. “Allez, mon prince, let’s get you some sustenance.”
And with a tug of his hand, Finn followed Logan into the kitchen and to the warmth of their sunshine.
I love attack dog Logan with all my heart
Everyone needs a guard dog every now and then to protect them from the not nice homo sapiens. Logan just happens to be a pitbull: he'll bear his teeth, but the second the threat is gone he is a pile of snuggly mush. I also like to think Finn has a bit of a protective streak in him, to.

The lights of the rooftop bar made the people around Logan soft, even in the late night darkness. He guessed it must have been close to one in the morning, but he didn't bother checking his watch. He was too busy watching Leo at the bar.
Logan's Rangers teammates had texted the group chat a week previous, asking if anyone was around to have a mid-summer meet-up at their favorite place. Finn, ever the extrovert, had jumped at the opportunity to socialize with his brother, Percy, and Will, and Logan hadn't the heart to refuse his big brown eyes. Besides, it was nice to catch up with his teammates- even if all he had done for the past few hours was stare at his boys, particularly Leo.
The last time he had come to this bar, it had been after they'd knocked Gryffindor out of the playoffs in June, and Logan had spent the whole night yearning with every fiber of his being to be with Leo. The previous six months had been hard on them all, but Leo's hurt had been a different ache. He had been so calm and collected throughout it all: Logan moving, Finn breaking down, Jack, Finn's concussion- even playing during their playoff series. But losing to Logan's goal had been the final straw, and the weight on his shoulders had finally been laid bare for Finn and Logan to see. It felt good to be here with Leo, at the place Logan had missed him so terribly. Now he got to watch him order them more drinks, Finn off somewhere probably making friends. Logan rested his chin on his hand with a soft sigh.
Leo looked so good tonight, with a slightly sheer black button down shirt and dark purple 8-inch shorts that hugged his thighs perfectly. He was smiling and laughing with the bartender as he handed over some bills, his gold chain briefly catching the light as his arm shifted. He caught Logan staring and winked at him. Logan could feel himself shamelessly smiling back as Leo thanked the bartender and took their glasses. As he began to walk over, a man approached him from beside him and blocked his path.
It wasn't uncommon for them to get recognized in public, but it still made Leo jump every time. He was good at putting up a front, though, and put on his charming smile as he greeted the stranger. It didn't quite reach his eyes, not like it did when he smiled at Logan and Finn, but it was genuine nonetheless. Logan huffed impatiently, resigning himself to a few more minutes of waiting, when something made him sit straight up.
Leo’s smile had abruptly fallen (Logan hated when it did that), his body tensing and his eyes widening. He didn't look afraid, just surprised and uncomfortable. Logan sat on edge for a few more seconds, waiting, then stood as the man said something else and Leo visibly flinched and deflated. He was not going to let his sunshine fade away like that, and walked quickly over.
When Logan approached, Leo caught his eye with a slightly panicked look. Logan didn't hear the tail end of the man's sentence, but he did hear the scoff as he wrapped an arm around Leo's waist.
“Case and point, I see,” the man said. He was rolling his eyes, and it set Logan's blood boiling.
“He doesn't want to talk to you,” Logan bit out. His voice was low, even to his own ears, as he looked the man right in the eye. He was taller than Logan, but not by much, and Logan was certainly stronger. “Leave us alone.”
The man held up his hands in surrender and backed away, turning to walk to the other side of the rooftop. Immediately, Logan spun around. He placed one hand over Leo’s heaving chest and raised the other to cup his flushed cheek. Leo’s breathing was harsh and his eyes were still trailing over the space the man had disappeared to.
“Breathe, mon soleil,” Logan said softly. No matter how angry he felt towards other people, he always softened for Leo and Finn, who deserved his care and gentleness more than anyone else. “What did he do to you?”
Leo clutched at the glasses still in his hands and finally looked down at Logan. “I- he said- Logan.”
Logan stiffened at the use of his full name and the defeat in Leo's voice. He took the tumblers from his hands and set them on the bar, then laced their fingers together and led Leo over to a spare section of wall, hidden under a light bulb that had gone out. There was a small table and a couple of chairs, and Logan sat down and patted his lap. “Ici, mon chou.”
Leo didn't protest, just bit his lip and nodded. He sat himself sideways over Logan's thighs and clutched at the hand Logan offered him. “Sorry.”
Logan shook his head hard. “Non, don't be sorry, mon amour.” He kissed Leo's cheek. “What did he say to you?”
Leo took a heavy breath as if to prepare himself. “Just… he just wanted to make sure I wasn't letting the other team win.”
Logan's brow furrowed. “Quoi? What do you mean?”
Leo rolled his eyes at himself as they watered. “He said he was disappointed in my ‘playoff mistake’ and wanted to make sure my personal life wouldn't…” He made air quotes with his fingers. “...affect my future performance.”
Logan breathed in sharply and glared towards where the man had wandered off to, as if he could conjure him again just to give him a piece of his mind. “Non, Le,” he said firmly, turning to rest a hand on Leo's jaw. It was tight and his pulse was fast under his fingers. Leo just looked defeated. “Mon coeur, you know that's not true.”
“I know that,” Leo said shakily. He pressed his forehead into Logan's and closed his eyes. “But the season ended with me against you and with me in goal. And I love you more than hockey, but they don't and I-”
“Hey, lovers, how are we-” Finn stopped abruptly at their expressions and rushed the last few feet to them, pressing close. He rested a hand on Leo's back. “What's happening?” At a shaky sigh from Leo, Finn laced his fingers in his hair. “Sunshine, baby, what's wrong?”
Leo just flopped his head on Finn's chest. “Some guy came up and told me to get it together when I play Logan. To not throw away games and to stay focused.”
Hearing the story again did nothing to quell Logan's anger, and it seemed that Finn's face reflected the same sentiment back to him. He looked Logan in the eye fiercely. “He did what? Where the hell is he, I'll-”
“No, Finn,” Leo pleaded. He reached to grasp at the hem of Finn's shirt. “Just stay, please.”
“Okay, okay,” Finn hushed. He wrapped his arm fully around Leo’s shoulders and kissed his head. “I'm staying, not going anywhere, baby.”
Leo closed his eyes and sank into their bodies. He looked tired, like he'd given up, and Logan knew all of those rolling emotions he had felt a few months ago came running back to him; the loss, the frustration, the anger despite not wanting to feel that way. Logan unlaced their fingers and brought both hands up to hold his cheeks.
“Soleil,” he whispered. “Regarde-moi, mon amour.” Leo slowly opened his eyes and looked helplessly into Logan's own. Logan pressed a hard kiss to his cheek. He needed Leo to understand. “You did the best you could. You are focused, you work hard, and you are so good, mon coeur. So good. Don't let him make you think you aren't.” He sighed deeply and brushed his mouth soft as a feather across Leo's own. “And no matter what happens, I will always love you more than hockey, d'accord? Always. You're everything to us.” He brushed Leo's hair back from his face and caught a stray tear with his thumb. “I can live without hockey. I can't live without you.”
Finn pulled Leo's sagging torso tighter against him. “That goes for both of us, baby. I love you always, okay? You're forever, sweetheart, and hockey isn't.”
Leo didn't say anything for a moment, just bit his lip and looked between them carefully. They just waited, carding his hair back from his face and caressing his skin, until he took a deep inhale, eyes closed. “Thank you,” he said simply. He reached for Finn's hand around his waist and kissed Logan's palm where it was still resting on his cheek. “I love you. I love you so much.”
Finn nodded into his hair and kissed his temple softly. “Let's go home, sweetheart.”
Leo sat up straighter. “No, it's okay. You've been looking forward to this, I'll be fine, I-”
“Non,” Logan interrupted. He wrapped Leo up tighter on his lap. “Home time. Then we cuddle.”
Finn let out a low whistle. “Threats of cuddles from Tremblay. That's the big guns, Le.”
Despite it all, Leo laughed. He kissed Finn, then Logan. “Okay. If you're sure.”
Finn scoffed. “Ditch my loser brother and weirdo friends to go snuggle with the loves of my life? There's no competition, baby.”
Logan laughed. “I'm sure Will and Perce would love you calling them losers.”
Finn considered that for a moment. “Well, Will isn’t a loser, but Percy definitely is.” He squeezed Leo’s waist. “I'll say our goodbyes, and then we'll leave. Wait for me here?”
Logan and Leo both nodded, and Finn wandered off to find their friends. Leo sank into Logan as he wrapped his arms firmly around his trim waist, content to keep him on his lap as long as possible. In turn, Leo threw an arm over Logan's shoulders, their chests pressing together as they watched the scene around them. People were laughing, chatting, drinking- absolutely oblivious to the hurt that Leo was feeling. It made Logan angry, that someone could make his sunshine this upset and the world just didn't stop. His world certainly did, because his world was Leo and Finn, and everything else, even hockey, was the background music to this blissful life of theirs. Logan side and rested his mouth against Leo's bicep.
“Alright, sweetheart?”
Leo's eyes were soft as they looked down at him. Logan met his gaze and nodded, leaning up for a kiss. “Je t'aime.” He gently pressed their foreheads together. “Just thinking about how much I love you.”
Leo closed his eyes and kissed Logan's cheek. “I really love you.” He sighed shakily, but he was smiling as he opened his eyes and gazed at Logan again. Logan couldn’t believe how blue his irises were. “Sometimes I can't believe I got so lucky.”
Logan squeezed Leo's waist harder. “Moi aussi, mon soleil. You're both so beautiful.”
“Look who's talkin’.”
They both laughed at Leo's impression of Finn. Leo's body was shaking on top of his own, so Logan didn't quite notice when the laughter turned to tears.
“Sh, sh, soleil,” he hushed, reaching up to wipe Leo's cheeks. “C'est bien, mon soleil.”
“I know, I know,” Leo said. His nose sounded clogged up and his eyes were dazzling. Despite it all, he was so pretty when he cried. “I'm sorry, I think- he just freaked me out, and then you're here telling me how much you love me, and I- it was just a lot of emotions.” He kissed Logan so hard it burned him up. “I'm okay. Really, I'm okay.”
“Are you sure?”
Leo nodded hurriedly and smiled again. “Yes, yes, I'm sure.” He bumped their temples together. “Thank you for loving me.”
“Always, Le,” Logan whispered. He ran a palm up and down Leo's side. “Always, mon coeur.”
They sat in silence for a few more minutes, enjoying each other's body heat, before Finn appeared and began to approach them again. Logan felt them both perk up, and he didn't have to look at Leo's face to know he was smiling, too.
Finn pushed Leo's hair back and kissed his forehead gently. He smiled. “Ready to go, baby?”
Leo looked at Finn softly, so softly, and nodded. “Yeah. Let's go to bed.”
Finn held out a hand for Leo, then for Logan. He pulled Logan close and ducked down to kiss him. “You alright, Lo, baby?”
Logan tapped his chest, then reached to take Leo's hand. “Ouais,” he sighed. And like Leo had, despite it all, he smiled. He laced the fingers of his other hand with Finn's, then brought each of their hands to his mouth to kiss the backs of them. “Ouais, mon rouge. Let's go home.”
