Hiii
being a breaking bad fan with media literacy is harder than anything that fuckass bald man went through

Inspired by
FUCKING CHOKES LMAO
some of the brba/bcs men and what underwear i think theyd wear
"Walter White would never" Walter White helped the cops catch his own criminal alter ego because they were about to blame his crimes on the wrong guy, and he couldn't stomach the thought of someone else taking credit for all the terrible things he did. That's the beauty of Walter White as a character, at least from the perspective of transformative fandom: he would. He's such a ridiculous man that literally nothing is out of character for him, provided you can contrive some circumstance where doing so would serve his ego.
happy pride
Have put off making this post bc I don’t want ppl I genuinely like and agree with on a regular basis to think I’m trashing them on like a personal level just bc I feel pretty strongly about this but I will say I’ve seen an uptick on “Jesse killed himself in Alaska” takes and headcanons and I just have to say that you are all staggeringly astonishingly incorrect like maybe yeah if we take him out of the context of the narrative he lives in which is structured like a narrative and contains overarching themes and character arcs and we all pretend that Breaking Bad is real and that New Mexico is a real place you can go to then sure, yeah, somebody in his situation might very well kill themselves. But if there are any lessons meant to be imparted to the audience by the trajectory of Jesse’s character arc, they are “endless self recrimination and self harm are actually not conducive to becoming a better person” and “letting other people decide the trajectory of your life for you is a bad decision in and of itself” and you might as well dice these themes up and melt them in a bathtub of hydrochloric acid if Jesse commits suicide post El Camino. To say that Jesse commits suicide is to take Walter White’s lying, deflated ass at face value when he tells Jesse that he could never make it on his own, that he needs Walt piloting his life for him, that he ever needed Walt more than Walt needed him, that he couldn’t possibly survive on the strength of his own merits and willpower. But he already did! He already did, in both BrBa and El Camino, and that’s what gives him the strength to go on, is just knowing that he can! And he will!
also while I'm talking about Walt - it is CRAZY how the narrative is intentionally set up to reveal that all the things Walt tells himself he is (a selfless provider, a hard working family man, someone who is incredibly competent at the work they do, a mastermind pulling the strings behind the scenes, etc) are all things that SKYLER ACTUALLY IS LOL. Like it's Skyler who goes back to work and immediately starts keeping the family afloat! It's Skyler who goes to incredible lengths to protect her children even when no one really understands why she's behaving that way. Skyler who humiliates herself time and time again just to keep secrets that aren't even hers from her innocent kids. Skyler who gets the car wash on their terms. Skyler who explains away Walt's secrecy to Marie with the gambling story all while Walt flounders and acts like a fool. Skyler White is such a fucking it girl to me honestly, a beautiful strong smart woman who genuinely loves her kids enough to let them keep a clean image of their father for as long as she can possibly hold onto it. I still think of her every single day lol
Fully rendered version 🎀
i wish people talked about how gay gale boetticher is more often. he was so gay for walter white. he was SO gay for him. he was so gay just in general. omg.

I personally think the fact that Skyler was pregnant and then newly postpartum for the majority of the show gets glossed over way too often lol. Not in an "oh pregnant women and new moms are soooo emotional 🙄" way either, but moreover like how deeply deranged a lot of Walt's behavior towards her really is in that context. Like here is this woman who is pushing 40, experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and all the financial and emotional concerns that come with that, raising a son who has a disability and handling all of the unique responsibilities and challenges that are a part of that experience, coping with what was essentially sold to them as a death sentence for her husband, all while also having to get back into the workforce after an extended time at home. It's crazy how vulnerable of a position Skyler was in during the time when Walter was sneaking around behind her back, lying and engaged in illegal activities right under her nose. Walt consistently harps on the stakes of his situation but ppl seem to completely disregard the weight of Skyler's. She gave birth without Walt. Handled the sleepless nights and diaper changes and night feedings and newborn tears without him. When she desperately asks him to get diapers at bedtime, he can't even do that for her without traumatizing Jesse and going to a bar while he's out of the house. Sometimes I remember that Skyler was an aspiring writer and I just want to cry lol. Losing so much of herself in motherhood and caught up in Walter White's web of lies and abuse. that's a tragedy of Breaking Bad I seldom see discussed but it's one I think about every time I watch the show. Skyler White you will always be one of my favorites, I love you so much
this shot is so funny. they look like they just told him they're getting a divorce

Bonus:
A day out and not so emotionally charged, I want to say that I think everyone should work to unpack their internalized fatphobia, but also their aversion to bugs. Yes, I recognize it's an extremely deep seated reaction for many of us, but your life will SIGNIFICANTLY improve once you can look at a bug or a representation of a bug without triggering a fight or flight response. I know it's hard, especially when the source of that aversion is related to personal trauma. I literally have this issue wrt cockroaches to the point where even the emoji can greatly upset me on a bad day, but it used to be a lot worse and applied to more bugs. Now I'm not exactly singing their praises every day, but I'm much less likely to have my day ruined by a surprise visitor. I can look at more things online without having my guard up. I can appreciate newer content for one of my Favorite Games.
You don't have to love bugs, but getting to a point where they are as inconsequential as like, a pigeon, is such a massive improvement in life.
me when I "mysteriously" feel better after I "have something to eat"
the japanese “-ne?” particle and the british slang term “innit” serve the same function
“I LOVE that game!” (watched a letsplay and commentary about it)
the world is running out of glassblowers and yet you want to become a fucking doctor
I started using Head and Shoulders ten years ago for itchy scalp and dandruff, and then for ten years I have not had itchy scalp and dandruff, so I thought “why do I still buy shampoo to combat itchy scalp and dandruff when I do not have itchy scalp and dandruff,” so I stopped buying the shampoo for itchy scalp and dandruff and can you guess I have now? Can you predict what currently afflicts me? It’s alright if you can’t because apparently I fuckin couldn’t either
i think as adults it’s our responsibility to be nice to kids and treat them with the respect we wish we got at that age and im not kidding or exaggerating in the least
ranking the best things I have heard surgeons say mid-surgery:
1. "Five second rule!" while scrubbed, after dropping a sterile scalpel on the floor (no they did NOT pick it up again but I swear everyone's buttholes puckered)
2. (spoken during the closing of a particularly long and difficult case) "Nurse - my tunes." :heavy metal starts blasting:
3. Gently to a fretful patient, pre-anaesthesia: "It's going to be okay. I promise, I've dealt with worse." As soon as the patient is unconscious: "This is literally the worst thing I've ever seen."
4. [okay this one was a med student] "Wowwww, that's so gross!!" Reg: "Please remember that [patient] is awake for this procedure." Student to patient: "Oh my god. I am so sorry, that was really unprofessional - " Patient, cheerfully, also engrossed with what's happening inside them on the screen: "Nah - it's, like, super gross, right?"
5. [another procedure where the patient couldn't be put under GA] Patient: *starts singing country roads midway through the procedure* Surgeon: *shrugs and joins in with surprisingly good harmony*
