Seeing people hate on Argyle as I gather every scrap of positive Argyle fan content into my arms and cry over them
It's honestly so funny tho bc like other than El, Argyle was undoubtedly THE most useful member of the Cali Team in season 4.
Who saved the group from being shot at and helped them successfully escape in his pizza van?
Argyle
Who pointed out that the secret message pen was "broken"?
Argyle
Who found the track marks in the desert that they were otherwise lost in?
Argyle
Who not only thought up the pizza freezer bath solution but was able to actually get it for them?
Argyle
I JUST FIND IT SO FUNNY BC THERES SO MANY PEOPLE OUT HERE LIKE !!! EW STEROTYPICAL STUPID STONER BAD WHY IS HE EVEN HERE !!!!! AND ARGYLE IS OVER HERE SINGLEHANDEDLY CARRYING THE CALI TEAM TO NOT ONLY SURVIVAL BUT ALSO VICTORY
Also when he talks spanish it makes my stupid little latina brain happy
me too girl.. me too
Warning: flashing lights/bright colors/Sonic Prime spoilers
This is the plot of Sonic Prime, right?
With the general consensus around James Potter being “ yeah he was an ass in school but he grew out of it and changed for the better”, I often wonder if that would still hold true if the entirety of Snape’s Worst Memory was shown in the movie. And I mean everything.
Not just Snape being verbally humiliated and emasculated in front of all his peers, but being (the equivalent of) tied up and gagged, and forcibly putting him in a position that exposes his underwear and threatened even further with exposing his private areas.
Reading the scene should be enough to leave a bad taste in anyone’s mouth but to see it play out visually, it would be harder to brush it off as “boyish behavior or horseplay” imo.
I feel so gross whenever fanon plays off Snape's parental issues as an excuse that he actively uses, in-universe, to make Lily feel sorry for him and overlook his bad behavior.
Not only is it out-of character for him, the way it's often portrayed gives off the impression that Snape's account of the severity of the situation is unreliable — when the only context his abusive home life is ever brought up is when he's being emotionally manipulative for personal gain, isn't it then likely that he would be exaggerating the situation?
A really prominent trait of canon Snape is that he doesn't like being pitied. He actually hates being seen as a victim. He would much rather be seen as a terrible person than as a hurt, vulnerable one. It's the reason he ends up calling Lily mudblood in the first place. It's why he'd sooner join the Death Eaters than reach out for help.
IDK — Just the fact that some antis apparently acknowledge Snape's canonically abusive childhood, but then spin it into something he consistently takes advantage of to manipulate others for sympathy and forgiveness to the point it comes off as deceptive, when that's actually pretty much the opposite of how he acts in canon... it makes my skin crawl.
“I think that maybe a part of me died that day too”
*chuckles in latina*
my favorite genre of antis is assuming im white for liking billy.
Is it weird that I haven’t really been a fan of Stranger Things proper in years? Like, I consider myself:
1. Abused Rat Bastard Public Defender
2. Hapless Romantic for the Chaos and Complexity of Harringrove, Mungrove, Argilly, and Other Trash Rat Pairings
3. Fascinated Theorist of the Woefully Under-Explored Hargrove-Mayfield Family

9999999. Actual Fan of the Show
I feel like an old-timey prospector trying to divine gold nuggets from dirt. Because there are some truly interesting, worthwhile elements scattered around the place that I’ve seen other writers spin into incredible stories.
But overall… whatever the show has ultimately become doesn’t really do it for me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that Penny Haywood is Pro Snape
Friendly reminder that Billy was teaching kids how to swim in Season 3. I can’t get over the image of Hawkins’ resident bad boy, standing waist deep in the shallow end of the pool as he teaches a kid with floaties around their arms how to swim.
Time for something that might be a hot take to some people.
Max attacking Billy with the baseball bat is not the badass move we’re meant to see it as in the narrative. Rather, it shows that she is caught in the same cycle of abuse as Billy. Billy overreacted, but he’s under threat of violence if he doesn’t bring Max home, and he finds her in an undeniably shady situation. He’s already down after Max injects him with the tranquilizer, but Max repeats the same tactics that we saw Neil use on Billy.
“Isn’t that right? ISN’T THAT RIGHT?” “Yes, sir.” “I’m sorry, I couldn’t hear you.” “Yes. Sir.”
“SAY YOU UNDERSTAND! Say it. SAY IT!!” “I understand.” “What?” “I understand.”
