this may be an insane take but i really don’t think anatoly ever had any intention of actually formally divorcing svetlana even if he could’ve. this may just be part of my subconscious vendetta against him but i also just think that he needs her despite how awfully he treats her.

positioning svetlana and molokov as genuine allies feels so wrong to me. i really think they hate each other and i accept no other interpretation.
