Chapter 17

Immortal Dilemmas

Death does not discriminate. Whether they are old or young, rich or poor, man or woman, evil or good death would come to claim when Fate had deemed their life had been long enough. There are those who try to avoid Death and believe they fooled death by gaining semblance of immortality. Death does not take likely to such foolery. There was a reason for why Mother Nature made even them have weaknesses, they do not wish to enact their sibling’s wrath. The only ones that Death deemed to have the privilege of avoiding them is of course their mistress and her family. Even then there will be a day that Death will claim them as well but unlike other mortals their mistress embraces death much like her mate, they accept death. But then there are others who believe that they do not deserve death and wish to avoid them at all cost, such arrogance does not go unpunished.

Death quite enjoys showing the overconfident and arrogant mortals that all they did was buy time but that was all. In the end the first ‘Immortals’ where taught that their time came at a very steep price just as the Peverell Brothers did. When a Wiccan dared to repeat the past transgressions made by another fool, Death ensured that her road into the afterlife would be excruciating. Especially since hearing that one day the children she had maltreated would one day mean a great deal to their master. The realm that death send her to would ensure as such but as of late they feel something was amiss. Someone was trying to undo their work! They could see Magic could sense it as well but before they could intervene Fate had arrived. They usually just reside in their own realms, they were both in Death’s realm appearing as James Potter and Sirius Black. Fate came to them as a figure with a hooded cloak.

“You’ll do well to leave them to their own devices,siblings.”, Fate said with their usual superior tone. Like death most forces don’t get in their way but instead of fear it was more to save a figurative headache. Fate can be a bitch if they didn’t get what they want in they wanted it. Magic and Death, however, couldn’t have cared less at that moment.

“I’ll be damned if I let some delusional mortal become a vexing to MY MISTRESS!”, Death said with a thunderous tone. Glaring at their sibling so intensely that it made them flinch but hold their ground. Fate was about to speak but was interrupted by Magic.

“Nor will I allow such a heinous use of me to become another dilemma for MY CHOSEN!”, Magic out of all their siblings Death and Magic had to be the one’s most hated by Fate. No matter their carefully crafted plans if Death and Magic decided on going off course there wasn’t much that Fate could do in retaliation. In came the tantrum.

“I HAVE LET BOTH OF YOU DICTATE ENOUGH OF HER JOURNEY! IF SHE IS TRULY WORTHY OF YOUR ATTENTION AND TITLES THEN SHE WILL OVERCOME IT! If not then that child was not wor-“, Fate did not get to finish their sentence as both of their siblings decided to send a wave of power to knock them away.

“DO NOT SPEAK ANOTHER ILL WORD OF HER! That child, as you put it, has overcome obstacles and pain that you as a mortal could never dare to approach or hope to bear!”, Magic said trying to reel back their anger from such slander of their chosen.

“It must happen Magic. If not dealt with now that Wiccan would just be more of a threat to your dear chosen. Besides she is not the only impudent mortal that will come.”, Fate said after picking themselves up and dusting themselves off. Magic made a move to knock the down again but was held back by Death and they looked at their sibling curiously.

“Wait Magic…think. Though as I loathe to admit it Fate has a point. Our Hailey has survived and conquered what no other could begin to imagine. We must…not intervene.”, it pained Death but Fate needed to run their course. The only way to help Hailey is that she could still use the gifts and powers bestowed upon her. Magic was baffled.

“BUT-!!”, Magic was of course protective of their Chosen. Their vessel was a her father and a father’s duty was to protect their family.

“Enough! This must happen or consequences will be troublesome.”, Fate said bitingly tired of having to argue about not getting their way. Both Magic and Death were annoyed by their outburst. Death nodded to Fate begrudgingly. They had to nudge Magic to do the same.

“FINE!”, they said. Not happy with having to put Hailey in any risk.

~Back in Mystic Falls~

Hailey was glad that Klaus had made good progress with his brothers. Elijah was a gentleman, Finn was quite curious over everything, and Kol seemed very interested in her kind and magic in general. She feel it best to not yet inform him about her ‘chosen’ status. They’ve only been awake for barely a couple of hours. She and the family had just welcomed the pack in and got them settled. She’ll have to speak to Klaus later when he believes it would be appropriate for the pack to go back to base. But until then she quite enjoyed the feeling of a full house.

She and Stefan had recently decided to not attend school. Hermione and Ron would have liked for them to but they understood. Hailey and Stefan have forever to go back to school but they cannot go back to enjoy the boys growing. Just that morning sealed their decision, the boys had reacted to peek-a-boo with their first laughs. It started with Stefan doing tummy time and Hailey recording them. Soon Caelan had started giggling and that triggered Cedar. Stefan had looked up with happy astonishment on his face and saw his wife had happy tears. They both had seen yet another stage of their boys growing and they don’t want to miss anything.

On the first day classes had started Hailey had gone to see Hermione and Ron off. Of course Stefan and the boys tagged along, he had been teaching the wizards to drive along with teaching his new older brothers how to as well. Hailey was a fast learner but had a tendency to be a speed junky, same with Kol. Ron, Remus, and Finn took a bit longer to learn what everything in the car could do but soon got the hang of it. Thankfully he had Hermione to rely on to teach sometimes as well as she was previously taught. It was when they went to a car dealership that Stefan had got a brief glimpse how wealthy Hailey was.

She had barely blinked when she decided to buy three new cars for the family. Stefan had persisted in paying for half of the cost and she had said, “Stefan, don’t worry about it! I could buy every car in the lot and it would barely leave a dent in my inheritance”. She had proceeded to buy the red BMW that Ron was eyeing, she gotten herself a blue ford mustang, and for Remus a black Mercedes. He could tell from the way Remus eye was twitching that they had been over it before but weren’t allowed to say anything. They rode into the school parking lot, garnering a lot of attention staff and student alike. Caroline and Tyler were there to be sure that the magicals were comfortable at the muggle school. While exchanging goodbyes a cough was heard, a very aggravating voice followed behind it.

Elena has had a very crappy last few months. First Stefan had gotten trapped by that freak of nature and said freak of nature continued to cause chaos around town. Elena was still fairly popular but not as much as the Potter’s. They came from old money, they were mysterious, and had gotten into the good books of the now second most rich family in Mystic Falls. Elena felt her temper flare up any time she heard the older people of the town talk about Potter in a sympathetic voice or hear girls envying Potter’s clothes and luck in spouse. She just about had a tantrum when she heard some males leer and lewdly talk about Hailey Freaking Potter and ignore her presence completely. Seeing the mushy scene she had to do something.

“You guys shouldn’t be making such a big scene. Hurry up or else we’ll be late! Stefan, what’s your first period?”, Elena’s plan was to break up the domestic scene and isolate her friends and Stefan from the Potter’s. She’s so frustrated with them being friends with them that all she wanted to do was shake them until some sense got into their heads. She batted her eyes at Stefan and made a sight pout, it used to make Stefan wild. She was unpleasantly surprised at his response.

“I’m not in school anymore, we’re just here to see Ron and Hermione off. Me and Hailey decided to stay home with the boys-“, he didn’t get to finish as Elena unleashed an honest to god tantrum.

“Stefan that is so irresponsible of you! You can’t just drop out! How the hell are you gonna support your ‘family’-“, she didn’t get to finish as Stefan interrupted her. How the hell was she supposed to keep him away from Potter is he’s at home with her all day, every day!

“Incase you forgot Elena! My family is pretty wealthy and so it Hailey’s. We can get a proper education later but right now we don’t want to miss out on the boys.”, Stefan was starting to get fed up with Elena’s entitled attitude towards how he should spend his time. If he wanted to raise his kids with his wife instead of going to school that was his business.

“But-, then how are we supposed to hang out and talk if you’re going to be at home!?”, Elena’s sputtering and ranting was gaining a lot of attention, onlookers had never seen this side of the Gilbert Good Girl. Some were a bit weirded out that she was clinging to a guy that already had kids and was happily married.

“Elena!! We aren’t together anymore remember, we’re not even friends! Any chance of being friends ended when you insulted Hailey and behaved like a straight up stalker!”, Stefan snapped. Now everyone was looking at Elena horrified. What in the world was going on through that girl’s head?

“I’m sorry that you decided that some girl-“, how could Stefan let some new girl come between them! Sure she had feelings for Damon but she knew deep down that they were supposed to be together! She didn’t get to tell him as such because it seems that Elena’s voice has become a new torture tactic for Stefan. Hailey had to hold his hand to calm him down, the sight made Elena more mad if it was possible. And the onlookers were able to tell.

“I’m going to stop you right there because Hailey is not just some girl! She’s my wife! The mother of my children! So yes she means more to me than your delusional relationship that you made in your head! Just let it go Elena and move on. Guys we’ll see you when you get home. Tyler, Caroline take care of them, okay?”, after getting a nod and sympathetic smile from them, Hailey and Stefan made their way back to their car to drive home. Elena made a move to follow them but was blocked by four angry supernatural teenagers. At seeing Caroline and Tyler’s glares she decided to start ranting again.

“I can’t believe you two! You betrayed us and went to the enemy!? Are you guys insane?!”

“Get real Elena, we became their friends there’s nothing wrong with that. We stopped being friends with you because you have become seriously sick in the head!”, Tyler said uncaringly. His words are typical as Tyler was known to be a harsh asshole but him defending the new family was quite the spectacle. Tyler had since sworn his loyalty to his Alpha and his family which included Hailey. He’ll be damned before he lets Elena spout off stupid crap. At Tyler’s words, Elena looked to Caroline for assistance but all Caroline did was turn her nose up and away from her.

“Miss Gilbert, you’ll be wise to leave us alone. From what we’ve heard about you, we really don’t want to be put in your vicinity.”, Hermione said in cold voice. Elena could practically feel the outsiders magic trying to suffocate her.

“Just leave us alone, alright? And if we hear you trying to badmouth or hurt our sister you’ll be sorry.”, Ron didn’t want to hurt a muggle girl, but from what he’s heard from his brother-in-law,he’s willing to hurt anyone who tries to hurt Hailey. A lion never leaves a member of the pride to fend for themselves. Elena was doing a good impression of a fish. They all moved past her with Hermione shoulder checking her.

As soon as they were inside they could feel everyone’s stares and hear the whispers. They paid them no mind and just headed to class. Ron had Tyler in all his classes so nobody dared to get close and ask questions. Less they wish to get decked by Tyler, who was known for having a short fuse. Hermione had Caroline, who let out a tongue lashing about respecting privacy to get people away. Elena was glaring at the quartet throughout the day. If she had been focusing she would have noticed that her friends and even her brother were all trying to avoid her.

Bonnie has been successfully avoiding Elena. She doesn’t trust the Originals but she was not going to risk her life saving Damon of all people. She can relate to what Coraline has said and couldn’t believe Elena. She seen the Potters around town, people had been calling the family that due to it seeming that they just follow everything Hailey Potter did and said. It was surreal to see, like the President with their secret service or something. The school was spreading rumors about Elena being Stefan’s stalker and some kids were even starting to worry that she might try to hurt the Potter Matriarch. After a long hectic first day she was happy to get home and just sleep. However when she woke up she found herself in a strange cave

In front of her was a coffin. What in the- how did she get there? She then, as if in a trance, made her way to it and opened the coffin. Inside it was a beautiful woman. Blonde hair, fair skin, and very traditional clothing. The resemblance to the Original sister popped into her mind. She then felt herself sit down on the ground, she vaguely noticed a circle around her being drawn by an unseeable force. But the trance on her was too strong. Whispers of an ancient language brushed by her ears. A bowl in front of her had lit ablaze and was only put out once she drew blood. When the fire went out, she took a large gasp. As if waking from a nightmare or the startling realization one could move after feeling the affects of sleep paralysis.

Bonnie looked up and her eyes met with a bright blue.

As an unwanted mother resurfaced, familiar faces have arrived via portkey.

Chapter 16

Immortal Dilemmas

The first feeling that came to him once he awoke, other than his hunger, was anger. The first thing he actually had consciousness of hearing in nine hundred years was his brothers voice. He had sped towards his brother once he made an unceremonious fall from his coffin but was stopped when he started registering a very familiar scent. A scent he had thought was taken away by his brother long ago, a scent so oaky and of grounded herbs. Sage, he was about to speak but was cutoff when his brother decided to shove some sort of bag into his mouth. His initial reaction is to bite down as he did he was finally fed part of him was disgusted by how easily sated his vampire was because of blood. But the other part was happy to get rid of the constant burn and ache he had been feeling. He drained the bag of its contents, his throat was still burning, and he was about to speak but once again it seemed as his younger brother was determined to force feed him. It seemed that their sister was also force feeding their other brothers while his Sage looked on.

He was sat down on a strange leather bound couch and looked up expecting to see the usual superior smirk that rested on Klaus’s face. He was mildly surprised to see Klaus look upon them with a look of concern and cautiousness. From his mother’s constant muttering of how his siblings were monsters and becoming worse he expected Klaus to have turned his humanity off permanently. Klaus leaned down to examine his eldest brother which caused Finn to question what Klaus was looking for. “Well, big brother, I’m just trying to estimate how many more bags I’ll have to feed you in order for your skin to regain color.”, out of instinct Finn looked down to his hand and Klaus was correct. Finn barely had any color to his flesh. Nine hundred years without any nourishment, it was definitely going to take a while for Finn to be considered a healthy vampire. He looked back up back to Klaus with a glare to snap at him, to berate him, to insult him, and generally just say anything to get back at his brother for confinement of the last millennia. But he stopped before he could even start as his brother had a look of remorse on his face while examining his form, an emotion Finn had been sure that he would only ever see from his brother when he was human.

What in the world? His mother had stated that his brother had become the ultimate monster. He had heard from her that Niklaus had broken the bindings on him. But instead of being more monstrous if anything this is the most human he had ever seen his brother since their early years of vampirism. He looked over his brother questionably as if Klaus was a puzzle that needed solving. Klaus ignored the looks and focused more on feeding his brother, Finn was so lost in thought that he just drank whatever Klaus was giving him. Klaus knew in Rebekah’s eyes that he would need to talk to Elijah first but Finn was the first of his brothers and they had a very strained relationship.

He had talked to Sage beforehand and asked her, for the sake of his brother, if she could stay at the mansion for however long Finn would need. She of course agreed, but she had questioned Klaus, she never got to really know Klaus other than what Finn would tell her. Why now, why did Klaus decide to awaken his brother, her love, after nine hundred years? Why had he done so in the first place? From that she finally got both sides of the story. How after Klaus had found out that he felt that he wasn’t true brother, just the bastard that his siblings had to put up with for all eternity, he felt he needed control in order to not lose the only family he could have. How, Finn spoke of their family being abominations made him feel as if he was trying to abandon them. He couldn’t bear the thought of his eldest brother, any of his siblings, trying to find a way to end things.

He went about it wrong he knew that but Sage know knew. She knew that while he was trying to undo the curse to unlock what was wrongly taken away, he also did it in order to be strong enough to fend off Mikael. She asked why was he so being so open with her and why wasn’t he discussing this with his sister or pet Salvatore. “Because you are the most important person in the world to my brother. And you deserve to know you in-laws a bit better. My brother had grieved the loss of our humanity but with you it seemed that you were able to lift that burden. If anyone has any say in what should occur with Finn you should have some input as well. My sister didn’t have a strong bond with Finn so I’m afraid the only thing she knew was his love life. And I’m afraid my little brother, Stefan doesn’t exactly have the best relations with his own brother, but who could blame him.”, he ended with a smirk but Sage could see the anxiety rising in the hybrids eyes. With that she agreed that the first conversation he would need to have would have to be with Finn.

She came over to them and shared a tentative smile with Klaus. Finn looked shocked at how they were interacting. She gave Finn a kiss and hand squeeze. She knew if she didn’t coax him, he would never just talk with Klaus. She knew how important family was to Finn, if she could help she will. “Finn, I’m so happy to see you.”, Finn was elated to feel Sage with him. But his mother…why would she lie and say that Klaus had murdered Sage. She saw that he was in thought but they needed this conversation now, he needed to know. “Finn, we need to get you back to full health. But most importantly…you have a conversation with your brother that is long overdue.”, he looked shocked that she would say so. But he knew Sage was right and with her being alive did raise questions. If his mother had been willing to lie about Sage what else could she have lied about?

She left them to have some sense of privacy. He wordlessly gave his brother modern clothing to change into, perks to being a vampire changing doesn’t take long. Klaus had pulled a dining room chair for sit in and gestured for him to sit down. He did and noticed his brother had a smaller version of shears in his hand along with some sort of metal tool in his hand. “What is this for Niklaus?”, he couldn’t help but ask.

“I’m not sure if you’ve noticed Finn but it’s no longer common for men to have hair at this length.”, he had noticed Klaus’s hair being short. Such a strange thing to see. But they were to be talking why was his brother offering to cut his hair? He continued to stay still, might as well get it done with.

“I’m sorry…for everything. I’m not sure how I’ll ever make it up to you but I want you to know that.”, his brother apologizing? Something was amiss, since them turning Klaus had apologized very rarely. At most he would only see he did wrong two times before Finn had been daggered, he has no clue if Klaus even apologizes anymore. He could hear their siblings stopping in their tracks at Niklaus’s words.

“You’ll have to be more precise Niklaus. There are many grievances between us.”, he couldn’t help but say so in a clipped tone. He was again shocked when Niklaus had flinched at his response. That was not…Niklaus had only ever done so when they were human…and only when he was with father. What had happened to his brother? He could hear his siblings and Sage waiting for them at the other end of the grand house.

“I’m sorry that you had to put up with me for a century. I’m sorry that I had you daggered for nine centuries. I’m sorry that I’ve been such a terrible brother to you that you would readily believe that I had murdered the one person you wanted to live for. I’m sorry that you have me, a bastard, for a brother.”, Klaus had did it. He finally said to his eldest brother his biggest concern. He could feel his eyes getting misty but he blinked it away before his brother could see him in such a state. When he found out he was a result of his mother’s affair his reaction to everything was in fear. What if his siblings were to decide that as a bastard he had no right to call them his brothers and sister. He was afraid he would be abandoned and left alone.

“Niklaus! I may be furious at you for having me locked away for centuries but I would never be angry with you for having a different father. We were raised together, we played together, but it would seem that was out of the situation when I had dared disobeyed you!”, he never thought that Nik would have these thoughts. He always seemed so carefree and headstrong. Never for a moment did he believe that Niklaus was not his brother. He had already lost their youngest brother, he didn’t want to lose another over petty thoughts. But it still hadn’t excused that just because he felt differently on their curse that Klaus could just lock him away. He held his brother’s gaze when he looked up to meet them with a look of…disbelief? He was so caught up in their conversation he and Klaus didn’t take in that their siblings had stopped talking to listen in.

“You think I had you daggered for nine hundred years because you disobeyed me?! Finn, you had constantly gone on about us being abominations, about our family being monsters. I saw, I saw that everyday you dreaded still being alive. With Sage you got better. But then she disappeared, it was like we were starting to just get you back and then we started to lose you again. And I couldn’t bear it any longer! We already had lost so much family. Henrik, I still cry every year and reminisce him in the season of his death. Mother, her death will forever be on my head she was supposed to protect us but she never batted an eye when father raised a hand or whip to any of us. Then she sealed away what was essentially apart of my soul, Finn! And Mikael, I understand his need to kill me! I am the bastard of his wife that he was forced to raise! But the man who raised us, the man we called father he hunted us. We lost so much Finn, we couldn’t lose you as well, no matter how much you hate me, please don’t abandon them, please don’t try to abandon our family again.”, Klaus couldn’t hold back his tears any longer, he tried to take in shacky breaths to calm himself. While Finn got lost in thought, had his pain really been that visible and had it really hurt his siblings to such an extent. Niklaus may be a manipulative person but he would never make himself display that he was vulnerable. It was as if in the first time nine hundred years he was seeing his little brother again, without any of his armor. He sped to Klaus and felt him tense when he had gripped his shoulders. He brushed off the hurt he felt and met Klaus’s gaze. All this time he thought he was saving their souls and speaking the truth. He had hurt his family enough, he was done listening to mother.

“Niklaus, look at me. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for never seeing that I wasn’t the only one suffering. I’m the eldest yet I was never able to protect my younger siblings. I’m sorry for making you feel that I was abandoning you. I’m sorry that I left you to suffer on your own. But most of all I’m sorry that I didn’t try harder, to show you that even though we don’t share total parentage that doesn’t make you any less of my brother. I was there for your first smile, first words, first steps, and all your other first. You are my brother and I swear by the family name that I will try harder. I won’t abandon our family again.”, he next had done something that he hadn’t done since Niklaus was a child, he brought him in for a hug. It took a moment but eventually Klaus returned it and used Finn’s shoulder to quiet his relieved sobs. He felt Finn rubbing his back and used it to comfort himself to stop. When he stopped crying he lifted his head to avoid his brother’s eyes. He hadn’t cried in front of anyone in the last five hundred years.

“Can we keep it in the house that you had to comfort me and that I actually can feel sadness?”, he asked with a joking voice. His brother just rolled his eyes fondly. Then the moment was broken when the rest of his siblings decided that their one on one time was up. Elijah had heard everything and looked proud of his brothers, so did Rebekah. When he met Kol’s gaze he could see some anger but he gave him a tentative smile. Klaus didn’t know it but at his reconciliation with Finn had definitely strengthened their family bonds. He met eyes with Rebekah and she gave him a nod, hopefully his brothers won’t find current events too…strange. He gave one back and she took out her phone to send a text.

“Now I believe it be time for my brothers to get caught up with the times.”, Klaus said after clearing his throat and ignoring the heat he felt in his cheeks.

“The doppelgänger, Elena, is she proving to be trouble?”, Elijah as usual got straight to the usual root of the problem.

“Another doppelgänger? I had thought Katerina was the last of her line?”, Kol had remembered how infuriated Klaus had been. It was the first time he felt anger towards Elijah and remorse for Klaus.

“As it turns out brother she had a child out of wedlock before we met her. But the latest one has been a quite prominent thorn in my behind.”, Klaus said with an irritated growl in his voice. Elijah looked at his brother curiously. But Rebekah wanted to share the good news first.

“While you lot were indisposed Klaus and I added a few members to the family.”, she said with a very large smile.

“Few members?”, Finn couldn’t help but repeat. His brothers looked as curious as he did.

“Yes brother, you see as an alpha of my pack I felt that they became more to me than just some subjects. And of course there is Stefan.”, his brothers could understand the pack bit, werewolves were family oriented. But to Finn and Kol they wondered who Stefan was. For Elijah he almost let his calm mask fall at the mention of the younger Salvatore.

“The younger Salvatore? I had thought with his relationship with Elena he would be against you.”, Elijah remembered that he along with Damon would stop at nothing to protect Elena. Honestly, was quite annoying at times.

“Salvatore?”, Finn wondered what was his family’s history with them. It would seem only him and Kol were out of the loop.

“Katerina shared many qualities with Tatia including juggling brothers. I’m afraid that she made them immortal but luckily the younger was never actually attracted to her, Stefan.”, Klaus let anger seep into his tone. Katerina would have hell to pay for daring to take advantage of his little brother.

“Anyone that holds disdain towards that tart already earns a few points in my eyes.”, Kol never gave Katherine the time of day even though she had tried to gain his attention multiple times. He could always see a glimmer in her eyes of greed and if it wasn’t for Klaus he would have killed her when she kept insisting in her advances.

“Yes, the fact he could see past the blinds similar to what Tatia did is indeed a better man.”, Finn may not have shown it but he was protective of his younger brothers. Once he learned that some girl had dared to pin his brothers against each other for her affection he had wanted to drown her in the creek.

“Well, I took him under my wing and we have a new younger brother. Congratulations Kol.”, Klaus said with a smirk. He wasn’t disappointed with Kol’s reaction. Finn was twenty-seven, Elijah was twenty-four, Klaus was twenty, Kol was eighteen, and Rebekah was seventeen. After Henrik, Kol had become the baby boy of the family they were fiercely protective of.

“IM NOT THE BABY ANYMORE!! YES!”, Kol couldn’t help but shout. His siblings chuckled at his antics.

“I must say this is while delightful news is a big surprise.”, Elijah said once Kol settled.

“Let’s all sit down there is more you lot need to know about has transpired.”, he went on to explain his and Stefan’s history. He explained how Stefan was left to fend for himself against an emotional manipulative girl and how Damon was no help. His brothers burned in anger at Damon just ignoring his brother in obvious distress just to benefit himself. He gotten up to recent events like how the pack would help in finally dealing with Mikael when Rebekah got a text back.

“Why is that strange rectangle making a noise, sister?”, Finn is going to need a looong lesson in history. But it won’t take long, they do have forever.

“It notifies me when a message is ready to be read, Finn. No need for messengers anymore with these.” Rebekah calmly explained while showing him and opening her camera to show the other things it could do. He jumped a little but examined it.

“Man kind has truly evolved.”, Finn always thought it strange the new things humans would make but they always seem to follow a pattern. Rebekah took her phone back when it looked like her brother wanted to break it open to see the inside. She turned to Klaus after responding.

“Yes it has, Nik he said that he’ll be over as soon as he can.”, they thought it best to introduce them now before anyone else in Mystic Falls.

“Who? Stefan?”, Elijah hoped he guessed it right. He was inquisitive and wanted to know the full story of why Stefan had decided to switch loyalties.

“Yes, you see brothers other than Stefan sharing a bond with I, he has achieved something thought to be impossible…but first I must explain our recent discoveries.”, in order to explain their story Klaus has to explain the history of Hailey’s kind.

“Discoveries?”, Finn had always been the one to want to make discoveries and to have creations of his own. While Nik had painted, Finn had worked with wood and stones. He had made his siblings toys and had enjoyed it immensely at seeing their young faces light up.

“Yes, as it turns out there is another kind of magic users. A whole secret society and world filled with magic and they use wands!”, Klaus said flamboyantly. His siblings could see that his eyes light up at the sound of a world were they would be considered normal. But Kol’s eye’s sharpened at Klaus’s description, it couldn’t be.

“Wand wielders? But that’s not possible!”, Kol said in an awed tone.

“You don’t seem very shocked at this brother.”, Finn said while taking in his brother’s reaction. Kol was always the one that had a fondness for magic and witches.

“I knew of them but it can’t be! Human had hunted them out and burned them all! They’re extinct!”, as much as it pained Kol to say it was true. Wand wielders had been persecuted long ago and wiccans had been the ones to survive longer. But Klaus just shook his head to negate his brother’s thoughts, it brought some hope for Kol as he never got the chance to encounter a wand wielder.

“Not extinct more of endangered. They had gone into hiding, brother. And we have made a strong bond with them.”, Klaus said with a fond smile on thinking back about the new family in Mystic Falls. He handed Kol the items he had gotten from Hermione and Hailey.

“You have made allies with wand wielders?”, Kol was amazed even before they supposedly went into hiding wand wielders never had really communicated those outside of their community. The fact that Klaus made allies with them is astounding. He looked at the book and stick with awe.

“In a sense. I made a vow to them in our family name. You see a very powerful wand witch is Stefan’s mate, her name is Hailey.”, Klaus said with some pride in his voice.

“Mates? A witch and a vampire?! That’s impossible!”, Elijah said. Mates within the vampire race was rare enough as it is but an interracial mating bond was never heard of.

“Impossibility seems like a daily occurrence with Hailey Potter. As the mate of our youngest she is our sister-in-law. Which reminds me that I need to speak to a lawyer.”, Klaus said quoting his newest younger sister. Klaus had been doing some thinking and it would be best to have some lawful advice.

“For what Nik?”, Rebekah looked at her brother curiously as did the rest of their siblings.

“Just to see if it’d be possible to achieve an idea that’s been bouncing around my head.”, Klaus didn’t want to have the idea out and get everyone’s hopes up before they knew if they could actually achieve it. Kol wanted to get back on topic.

“I understand that her being a vampire’s mate is impossible but what else? You seem to be leaving something out.” Kol said looking over to his brother with inquisitive eyes, he truly did have an interest with magic. Just as he was about to answer the door bell ringed, no doubt Hailey’s doing.

“If you’ll follow me brothers to greet our guest you’ll see the other impossibility achieved.”, they all trailed Klaus in their vampiric speed. Sage had shown up to Finn’s side holding his hand also curious to see the impossible witch. When Klaus opened the door they were greeted to the sight of a beautiful young couple that had infants in tow. The girl had a beauty about her that could only be explained by her witch status. Her black hair made it seem her porcelain like skin and emerald eyes were glowing. The boy had a handsomeness to him and Sage could understand now why Damon had been so envious of his younger brother. His brown hair and tan skin made his eyes really stand out with their color of aqua. But the babies…

“Brothers and Sage meet the Potter-Salvatore’s. Hailey, Stefan, and of course nephews meet the rest of our family.”, Klaus said as he directed the happy family inside. He peeked over Hailey’s shoulder to smile down at the boys and they stared back at him with their adorable eyes wide. Sage, however, knew why the family is considered out of the norm.

“What? You have children but your so young?”, while not uncommon is was still a concern for Sage. What brought about the young witch to have children at such a young age. Finn didn’t understand Sage’s question.

“Is it no longer usual for someone of her age to not be wed and a mother?”, Finn said looking at everyone curiously. It was common for people as young as thirteen to be engaged as back then life expectancy was anyone’s guess.

“It hasn’t been common in the last century, but we are married.”, Stefan could understand Finn’s question. Back when he was human he would have had an engagement if it hadn’t been for the war despite his young age.

“Wait a minute…”, Kol got a closer look at the infants and at the couple. The scents, the similar features, but most importantly the bond.

“HOW?!!?”, Kol asked flabbergasted. His brothers did the same as him as they finally noticed what he had. It wasn’t possible! Klaus took maybe too much pleasure from seeing all their looks of shock. He went on to explain.

“Hailey and Stefan has truly done the remarkable. As a vampire and a witch they were able to produce offspring. Allow me to be the first to introduce Cedar and Caelan Potter-Salvatore. The impossible children made by the impossible mates.”, Klaus did not hide the pride or smugness from seeing his brothers and Sage do a fantastic impression of a gaping fish.

“It’s been my experience that impossibility is just another challenge.”, Hailey had to just add with an impish smile. Stefan shared it with her and put his arm over her shoulders. Bringing her closer and allowing him an easier way to look adoringly at his sons. It seemed that was enough to finally snap the others out of it.

“Children produced by a vampire? It not possible!”, Elijah couldn’t help but loose his usual calm composure. He had been awake the longest and had seen much more than his siblings. But a secret world and children from a vampire was just overwhelming.

“I’m afraid that your wrong on that, in my world it’s not as uncommon but it also helps that I’ve never been one to follow the norm.”, Hailey said with a smirk and looked to Stefan who also smirked at the end of her statement. Kol couldn’t help it any longer.

“If I may?”, Kol asked Hailey and Stefan. He stepped closer to them to peek at the children and held his hands out in question. Stefan let out a low growl at him but was quickly placated by Klaus and Hailey reminding him that this wasn’t a threat, this was family.

“Do you know how to hold him?”, Stefan answered and questioned. He sounded a bit strained but it was progress. A very valid question he thought, he wondered if the originals were ever able to hold a child during their vampiric years.

“Uhm…directions would be appreciated.”, Kol could feel his cheeks glow red in embarrassment. Stefan helped in showing him how to support Caelan. Kol couldn’t help but examine the new kind of hybrid. His brothers had flanked him and were as well looking over the baby.

“Amazing. Was your pregnancy similar to a normal one? Was it more painful?”, Sage asked while looking at the child that was still in Hailey’s arms, Cedar. Hailey answered with a smile. She handed Cedar to Klaus as she knew he had been secretly dying to hold the boys again.

“Thank you. My pregnancy was far from normal. My gestation was only for two and a half months. It was slightly painful as the twins are part vampire and they stronger than normal. And of course the biggest surprise was actually birthing twins.”, the vampires in the room were listening intently. They took turns asking questions which reminded Hailey of school children. But unknown to them a force was brewing, one so desperate and dark it was willing to do anything to rectify what it believed to have been a plague on this earth. A simple dream to a certain Wiccan left her message.

“Free me, dear one. Help me rise!”, the world was about to be greeted by an old spirit. One that would have to use force as her eldest was no longer of any use.

Chapter 15

Immortal Dilemmas

The Mikaelson’s never claimed to be kind and merciful vampires, on many occasions they have claimed to be the exact opposite. But what no one can deny is their loyalty and devotion to those they claim as family. They have their differences and feuds, but no one could deny the bonds in the family. With Stefan being accepted in to the family along with his wife and sons, that loyalty and devotion is extended to them and returned. Damon, however, had failed in seeing that. He thought at worst his brother would try to hurt him but ultimately forgive him later as always and for Klaus to show fake sympathy. He never expected for him to end up in the dark and damp dungeons under the mansion. He’s lost track of how long he’s been there.

Klaus, as agreed, has had no hand in Damon’s punishment and torture but Stefan and Rebekah had been very hands on. Rebekah had started by removing vital organs other than his heart and head from his body and making him crawl across the room to retrieve them. He was given barely enough blood to access his healing, what would have taken an hour to heal took him a day. That was the first week of his stay. Then his dear little brother came down, that ungrateful bratty brother of his had decided a very painful tactic. He was pinned to the wall by bear traps and still had open wounds from ‘Sexy Bex’ when his brother had decided that he was filthy. So slowly Stefan, with rubber gloves on to prevent himself from being harmed, cleaned the wounds and blood from his brother with water laced with vervain.

Ron and Hermione were enraged for their sister and nephews/godsons. It was decided that they would be the ones to teach Damon on their family’s behalf. They hadn’t used the Unforgivable Curses but had used some…not so kind spells after finding them in the Black family books. After the war they had adapted a grey morality, none of the trio had came out of it without blood on their hands. Ron had learned that it didn’t take a complicated spell in order to cause harm, especially to cause harm to a vampire. Ron had ignored the snarling from the bear trapped Damon and stabbed his wand through his forearm that caused Damon to grunt in pain. He then chanted, “Lumos Solem.”, and barely flinched when Damon started screaming his lungs out. The spell caused sunlight to be released out of the wand in a flash. It was enough to burn a medium sized hole and Ron proceeded to do so to each of Damon’s limbs. When finished Damon’s throat was hoarse and had tears running freely , “That was for making my godsons cry and hurting their poor throats. I thought best to just repay the favor.”, he ended with a smirk.

He would let Damon sit in a puddle of his own blood before leaving and healing him the next day, no blood required so no need to feed. Damon would beg for some but it fell to deaf ears. That was the routine for about three days before Hermione decided to be the final punisher for the remainder of Damon’s sentence. Damon kept obnoxiously flirting with her yet demeaning her at the same time. She learned a spell that had been used by death eaters quite frequently. Vampires enjoyed taking blood so much, how would one feel if theirs was practically drained out? “Sanguis Coquite.”, Damon had gone red and thrashed around as he felt the blood in his veins start to sizzle. It only stopped when he was on the brink of passing out, “I believe this would suffice in teaching you to never try and drain my sister. You try again and I’ll see to it that the last thing you feel is your blood evaporating from your body.”, she said as she snarled and violently gripped Damon’s face with her hand.

Klaus had decided to release him after three weeks. Three weeks of being tortured by vampires, a wizard, and a witch. I’m the whole time that Mystic Falls had known Damon Salvatore, it had never seen him so quiet after he had reappeared. The gang was worried about him just plopping down own the couch with an entire case of bourbon after he got out. He snapped at anyone that questioned what they did to him. He didn’t want them to know that in desperation he had begged…and cried. It took a week before he was back to his normal self but still flinched at the sight of the Potters.

During his confinement Elena had not been successful in getting help and on her own she couldn’t accomplish much. She threatened breaking the deal with Klaus but he coolly responded, “If that is what you so desire Miss Gilbert but be aware that breaking the deal will lead to me personally having access to do as I please to gain your blood.” She went white at the veiled threat. She thought briefly on how her loved ones could be affected and threw it away and thought on what matters the most to her. Herself, every doppelgänger has shown that all they care for is self preservation and getting what they want. She is no different and in a way similar to Katherine by setting a mask to hide her true self. Klaus had told her before that he could just put her in a coma and use her, she wasn’t about to risk that.

No one from the gang was willing to risk hybrid fury by trying to break into the mansion. After Elena described the abilities of the new residents while intrigued Bonnie still refused. Elena blamed Caroline for this. Ever since Caroline’s little rant everyone had stopped catering to her. She openly held a glare towards the Potter family and as such had started gossip in the small town. If anything it made Elena even more upset because it was giving more attention to Potter and her brats. But that was all she was allowed to do but if she so much as tried to purposely cough in their direction she would pay for it. It was needless to say the gang was restless. The humans of the group were done dealing with Elena shaped problems and dying then coming back to life with weird side effects.

Caroline was a traitor in Elena’s eyes, she had left when she was really needed. Caroline was tentatively talking more to Klaus and made it known to Stefan that she was trying to cut Elena out of her life. Stefan was happy for her. Klaus was ecstatic to get closer to the baby vamp. Everyone was hesitant but they gave Caroline the benefit of doubt. She and Tyler became close friends again but they wouldn’t pursue a relationship. She got to know the Potters a bit more and couldn’t believe Elena was spewing acid about such nice people.

In the meanwhile during Damon’s punishment the new residents of Mystic Falls have finally made themselves at home. Their house was feeling closer to home. The boys were growing beautifully and developing at a accelerated (to these parents any sign of the boys growing would be too fast) rate. Stefan and Hailey have had so much fun with their boys simply with tummy time and shaking rattles to see their adorable expressions. The only down part was when he went to the boarding house to pick the last few things he had gotten another earful from Elena. That day it was finally headed towards the cooler months. School would start in less than a month. She was still on the ropes about joining Ron and Hermione in muggle school. She wanted to be with Stefan but she didn’t want to leave Cedar and Caelan at home.

Stefan said whatever decision she would come to he would follow. If she wanted to go, he’ll be there walking her to classes and driving her home. If she wanted to stay home he would drop out and stay home with her to help with the boys. They would discuss it at length later. Hailey was wearing a black long sleeve, red plaid skirt (which if walked in a certain way drove Stefan insane), sheer leggings, and her combat boots. Stefan was wearing his dark grey leather jacket, a white shirt, black jeans, and combat boots. Cedar was in a black onesie with sleeves that had a magicians wand on it and he had red gloves and baby booties on. Caelan was in a red onesie that read ‘I BITE’ on it, it had sleeves and he had black gloves and baby booties on.

Hailey came with him as she trusted Elena as far as she could throw her with a pinky finger. He asked her to stay in the car with the boys but she got a feeling something was wrong and was proven right when she heard Stefan snarl. What is wrong with that girl?!

Why Elena was there he wouldn’t know, until he went into his room and was assaulted with the smell of her invading his once personal space. “Elena what the hell where you doing in my room?!”, he went to his closet and drawers and found that the majority of the clothes he had left were practically drenched in Elena’s overly candy sweet scent. She opened her mouth to answer but Stefan had spoke again,”Why the hell were you wearing my clothes!?” At this point she was in tears as Stefan looked at her is disbelief. Why couldn’t Stefan see that they were supposed to be together, with her not some witch?!?

“I missed you! Okay, Stefan I just missed you, Damons been here but then you took him away. And it doesn’t help that my heart always went back to-“ she was interrupted when Stefan had snarled at her. She tried to step closer and put her hand on his face but he sped away from her to the other side of the room. How dare she!?

“Elena! Get this through your head okay?! I don’t love you! I’m married! I have children! I love Hailey Potter-Salvatore! Give Damon your heart for all I care just leave me out of it! We’re done Elena we’ve been done for over a year!”, Hailey had came in with boys in her arms to see what was happening. Seeing her husband in a defensive position on the other side of the room was enough to tell her that once again Miss Gilbert was creating a problem. Hailey caught her husbands attention and he sped towards her and wrapped his arms around his family. He took comfort at the boys calm breathing and Hailey’s scent. She wordlessly handed him the boys after he calmed down enough. She turned to the doppelgänger and wasn’t surprised to see her fuming like a child that was told she wasn’t allowed to play with her old favorite toy.

“Now, Gilbert, I do believe I have warned you about staying away from my husband-“, she was interrupted when Elena stomped her foot. Like an actual child.

“Stefan should be with me! You trapped him. You-you- You Freak!”, and just like that it seems as if Hailey had shrunk in on herself and flinched away. Stefan had growled and passed the children back to her. Hailey looked up confused until Stefan had sped to Elena and had a hand around her throat. Elena was trying to push his hand off to no avail.

“I will not condone anyone badmouthing MY MATE AND WIFE! Especially you! If you ever do so again I will remove your heart and shove it down Damon’s throat! Do I make myself clear?”, he said calmly as if he was just asking her if she could pass a beverage. She nodded and she dropped to the floor trying to regain her breath. “Let’s go, hon.”, he directed a smile and got one in return. “There’s nothing here worth taking home anymore.”, he put his hand on the small of her back and headed with her back to the car. The car was silent with the occasional coo from the boys that made the parents smile as Stefan had his hand on Hailey’s thigh and she put her own on top of his. Stefan’s protective display had stirred something in her. He followed her up to the nursery and trailed after her like a puppy she proceeded to put the boys down for their evening nap. She took his hand and led him back to their room.

Their room had a dark red wall pattern and all the furniture was dark red oak. Their bed was a king canopy bed. He hadn’t understood the smirk his brother and sister in law had send his wife. Hailey later explained that it was similar to how her dorm room was like at her school. The house was practically filled with red and golden aesthetic, apparently their house colors.

He had a confused smile on his face and was pleasantly surprised when Hailey started kissing him passionately. He got his bearings and gripped her hips and deepened the kiss. When they broke apart they were both breathless and smiling. She nuzzled his neck and he leaned himself more towards her. He could feel her smile into his neck. “Thank you. With how everything was I never was protected like that. I was always supposed to be the one protecting. Don’t get me wrong, my siblings would be there but there were times when they couldn’t and it got to me.”, Hailey had said into his neck and he could feel the heat building on her cheeks. His heart broke for her and he made a silent vow to always protect her from even the smallest things. He cupped her face and made sure they were looking eye to eye.

“I will do everything I can to make sure that we are protected and safe. I-I love you, so much. So much more than I thought I was capable of feeling. The thought of you in any pain emotionally, mentally, or physically it just makes me want to bundle you up and get rid of whatever made you like that. You and the boys, you make my existence and immortality feel like a good thing.”, with Elena it was expected of him to protect her but with Hailey she didn’t expect anything from him, other than to keep looking at her the way he does now. It wasn’t one sided and it wasn’t him just giving and giving, it was mutual adoration. He protects and loves her and she doesn’t hesitate to return it. Elena had constantly talked of not becoming a vampire and not being able to handle immortality. But Hailey showed a light at the end of the tunnel, her and their boys were worth living through everything and anything. The resumed kissing, Stefan had picked her up from the back of her thighs and she placed her arms around his neck.

They were both getting lost in the kiss but Stefan was craving the taste of his mate. He nipped at her bottom lip and used her gasping to slip his tongue in. The kiss felt different it felt…hungry. Neither had been able to truly feel each other for four months, they were desperate for each other. But Stefan was still hesitant, was it safe for Hailey to do the…extraneous act? He broke the kiss and nearly done himself in when Hailey whimpered and started to mark his neck. He bit back a moan and panted out, “Sweetheart *groan* is it…okay for us to keep going?”, while asking Hailey had decided to teasingly trail her hand down but stopped just before her hand would land were Stefan was yearning for her touch.

She looked up coyly and started stripping in front of Stefan. Showing confidence that wasn’t there when they were first intimate and it made Stefan’s mouth water. She was flushed but had a teasing smile on. In front of Stefan, Hailey had black set on. Her wonderful breast were incased in satin cups and her maidenhead was teasingly hidden under a black cloth of lace. The black made her skin look as if it was made of porcelain. Her scars and toned body just as before made her look like a war goddess. How he yearned to mark that beautiful body to show everyone that she was his and he was hers. She did a come hither motion and that was enough to convince him that she wanted him and she wanted him now. To repay her he also started to strip.

Stefan’s body was so much more defined than she had realized. If she hadn’t thought he was a marble statue before she did now. His abs were tantalizing and all she could think of was marking his tan skin. To show everyone who dared listed after Stefan that they could look all they want but they would NEVER be allowed to touch let alone taste. Once Stefan was in his boxers her control had snapped, she surprised Stefan by pushing him to sit on the edge of the bed and nearly bugged his eyes out when she dropped to her knees. His goddess was kneeling before him…she will be the death of him.

She swiftly pulled his underwear off and put as much as his herculean in her mouth as she could. Whatever she couldn’t fit she stroked with her hand. She rolled her tongue, licked, and sucked at the tip. She looked up to see Stefan expressions to see if she was doing a fair job. His head was thrown back and he was using a hand to hide his noises, that wouldn’t do. She slurped as she raised her head up and down. Stefan couldn’t handle it and his groans, moans, and whimpers were filling Hailey’s ears. And just as he was about to come she pulled her mouth off. He was a panting mess and looked at her as if she was a gift from the heavens. He wanted to repay the favor, so he tugged her up to him and pushed her down onto the bed.

She looked surprised at the sudden switched positions. Without much thought Stefan dove in to enjoy the taste of Hailey’s most intimate part. She gasped, moaned, whimpered, and squirmed at the sensation of Stefan’s tongue. What made her nearly undone was when he started to flick and suck on the little bud on her flower. She put a hand in his hair and forced him up to give him a filthy kiss filled with possessiveness, lust, and love. She was straddling him with their chest pushed together and their panting nearly in sync. She grabbed his hard on and lined it to her opening. With meeting his eyes she slammed herself down. It hurt a bit but the pain was nothing compared to the pleasure of having Stefan inside her again.

Soon enough it was becoming too much and then Stefan reached down. He started furiously rubbing at her clit and it pushed her to climax. As the young couple laid to sleep they had no prior indication that tomorrow would bring chaos. As Klaus and Rebekah were sure that the Potters were now situated in home they could finally awaken their brothers. There wasn’t anything left other than to tell the pack that it would be safer for them to leave the mansion. Klaus walked up to Tyler, his first hybrid, as he directed others to put the coffins into the ballroom. “Tyler, everyone! I need your attention. In these coffins are the rest of my family. The thing is my brothers are about as temperamental as me. As soon as you can I need all of you to leave. I will not risk your lives and my brothers would hurt any of you just to anger me. So please until I know for sure that my brothers won’t kill any members of the pack I need you lot to stay away. Understood?”, the pack was quiet none of them were comfortable with leaving their alpha to endure the rage of his family especially after him telling them that he wouldn’t risk their lives. But it was an order from the alpha and they can’t disobey.

“Where should we go? I don’t think there’s a place that could house all of us. I would suggest my house but my mother is too noisy for her own good.”, Tyler contemplating out loud when the pack made their way outside. There was thirty of them now. A light went off above Tyler’s head and he got out his phone and dialed her number. The pack was looking at him curiously and then they heard her voice.

“Hello? Tyler?”, the English accent along with her voice being a melody made it clear that it was Hailey Potter-Salvatore. She sounded tired. Did she just wake up from a nap it was only four in the evening. Tyler explained the situation and asked if the had room for some of the pack. His plan was to take some to his home and say they were friends from school that wanted to stay overnight for a project. Send some to the Potter Mansion and use the money Klaus gave them to send the remaining few to a hotel. “Oh of course! We have plenty of room for everyone just make your way and I’ll meet you in a few. She hung up and Tyler was a bit shocked that Hailey was willing to house thirty hybrids. But not wanting to look the horse in the mouth they made their way.

Back in the Mikaelson Mansion Rebekah and Klaus were setting things up. While Rebekah got the modern clothing for her brothers along with some hair appliances, Klaus had dragged in a couple of coolers with blood bags. Who knew how thirsty Finn would be? Sage was finally there and making sure to avoid Damon. She was so happy to hear that Finn was alive and that they would be together again. Klaus had borrowed a magical book from Hermione and a toy wand from Ron for Kol. When everything looked in place they each made their way to a brother. Rebekah with Kol, Sage with Finn, and Klaus with Elijah. They looked to each other and at the same time pulled the dagger out. Klaus got the box out and placed the daggers in. They went to the opposite wall and slid down it , waiting for signs of awakening.

Three gasps filled the room, taking in air for the first time in centuries. Or months for Elijah. The three rose from their sitting places to look at the vampires in the coffins. Klaus smirked.

“Welcome back, brothers.”

Chapter 14

Immortal Dilemmas

Klaus was just overwhelmed, he has lived for over a thousand years and now there is apparently an entire society of magic that he had no clue about existed? He could see he wasn’t the only one that was but he noticed in his befuddled state that his little brother was one of the few that was calm…oh he was so going to get it!…once Klaus relearned how to stop hyperventilating. Rebekah was fairing better but was still fairly astonished, she had thought there was nothing that could surprise her anymore than a day of knowing Hailey Potter and the impossible seems to happen every few hours!

Stefan was trying to avoid making eye contact with Klaus…he knew he was in for it. Though he knew he should also address a few things to the room explanations were needed…for him not to have to beat a few hybrids to a pulp for making eyes at Hailey. “I think it’s time I tell you guys the full story now that we don’t have to worry about others. You see after that mission I had in Oregon I came across Hailey walking along the road. At the time I didn’t know why but I felt a pull towards her and pulled over and offered her a ride to town. I didn’t know she was a witch and she didn’t know I was a vampire. We felt compelled to try and connect and tell each other our woes. Soon enough we ended up at a bar, there was more talking…and drinking.”, he said that last part in a wince when he saw his mate’s uncle and brother glare at him, even the little guy was giving him an angry pout! He quickly moved on to hopefully dig himself out, but it seemed his sweetheart also wished to chime in. He couldn’t stop his grin to her if he tried.

“We found a hotel and well…we were able to make the adorable little bundles Stefan is holding.”, she blushed out. She wasn’t ashamed of what they had done and what they made but it was still uncomfortable to make it known. She could see the hybrids in the room were baffled by the idea that a vampire could father her children. But it slowly turned into astonishment, the hybrids could hear her heartbeat, she wasn’t lying! A few stepped forward to look at the children closer and was surprised to see Stefan tuck them closer to him and snarl at them. He was calmed down by Hailey placing a hand on his arm. They took a tentative and testing step forward and weren’t snarled at. One definitely looked like her but the other looked so much like Stefan, even then they can see pieces of their mom and dad in either of them.

Stefan and Hailey looked in glee as everyone had finally realized that these were legitimately and biologically HIS. Hailey continued as the little story wasn’t quite done yet. “The night we made the twins was also the night we unknowingly became mates. But when I woke up Stefan had gone.”, the room could hear silent sorrow in her voice and the room turned to glare at Stefan. Though they were shocked to see Stefan with a sorrow expression. They hadn’t yet had the chance to talk about that but it needed to be addressed. She knew she was selfish for bringing it up but it still had hurt a bit that he left even though she partly knew he had to. He gently cupped her face and put their foreheads together, a gesture that is quickly becoming something that they would be known for to calm each other down. Stefan parted a bit with remorse written on his face.

“I’m sorry I left that way. But please know that at the time I thought that me being away from you would be better for you. It killed me that I couldn’t wake up to see your face every day and I had missed you so much that I even began to dream about you. I won’t as for forgiveness but please know that everyday I yearned to be with you.”, Stefan waited for her decision. He was rewarded with a soft kiss which he eagerly reciprocated. She had a blush but again had a smile that melted him.

“I understand it was better for us to be apart at the time. My world was already in chaos and it hearing about my pregnancy and relationship with a creature would have drove it towards an edge. Fate had planned for us to meet now and I’m not one to look in the horse’s mouth.”, they almost got lost in each other’s eyes until Remus had cleared his throat pointedly and said with his eyes to finish the rest. Hailey turned scarlet at the reminder of an audience but continued.

“In my world that registers us as a married couple and they make it register to this side as well. I didn’t know about this until later. In order to understand this next bit is to know that I am the Mistress of the Death. I am immortal but I don’t require blood and there really isn’t a way to kill me. Being the mistress essentially means that I have the power to avoid death and communicate with it. I’m not sure what other powers come with it. There was a prophecy a long time ago that said that the Master of Death and a Creature of Death would be able to make the Heir of Death. That was how we got Caelan. But the thing is, is that I’m also Magic’s Chosen. Essentially I’m able to do things with magic nobody could ever do. Magic also wanted an heir for that mantle and so Magic’s Heir was born with the Heir of Death, Cedar. Not to mention in my world it’s also not so rare for a magical vampire male to get a witch pregnant. The thing is in my world I’m considered a big deal so I needed to move to the normal world. It really was just coincidence that me and Stefan had reunited here.”, she finished with an impish smile.

The pack now knew the story of the Potter-Salvatore family. It was an absolute marvel children had been born to a vampire father and a witch mother. Both races had been thought to absolutely despise the other and one race was cursed with never being able to procreate. Yet the Potter-Salvatore family had just destroyed that known fact. Children that are half witch and half vampire in a way similar to them, not really belonging to either kind so having to become their own. It made the hybrids want to protect the boys. Klaus saw the determination in their eyes and saw the same fierce protectiveness in his sister’s eyes that was usually held for those in their family. Stefan and Hailey had wormed their way into her heart and their children had quickly captured it. Nik had stepped up and did what no one believed he was capable of doing. He kneeled.

“I, Niklaus Mikaelson, Alpha of the Hybrids hereby swear that my pack will protect the Potter-Salvatore family. May our families remain allied and flourish in growth. Please know that by marrying Stefan this now makes Hailey Potter my sister and I will protect her as such. With their children as my nephews anyone that dares to harm them will meet an excruciating end.”, Klaus had said it so inspiringly that soon his hybrids had followed his example and his sister had as well. Rebekah couldn’t hold back her smile if she could, she finally had a sister and nephews to boot!Hailey then shocked them. She got to her knees and brought Stefan and the boys with her, took Klaus’s hand into hers and smiled to him. Her family came up behind her and also took a knee to show that they are behind her and support her. She took her other wand to raise her wand in the air.

“As you are now my brother I pledge a magical oath to your pack. I, Hailey Jamie Potter, hereby state that the Hybrid Pack is under our protection. Any who declared your enemy is now ours. As we are now family we are equal. You protect us and we protect you, so I say so mote it be!”, at her words her wand began to glow and shoot a spark of magic in the air. The oaths and vows done everyone in the room was contempt with the silence. But it was broken when Hailey’s stomach made itself known again. They all made their way to the large dining table and started the feast. Not worried about muggles Tonks had conjured a high chair for Teddy out of the chair next to her. Hailey had summoned the twins bassinet and charmed their bottles to hold themselves as the twins ate. They did it so nonchalantly that they ignored the awed looks from the pack. Ron had started plucking food so quickly that it startled the rest to start eating as well. They mostly talked about the new comers, the babies, what made the difference between them and wiccans, and how Remus was a slightly different werewolf. Rebekah was chatting with Hermione and Tonks was pleasantly surprised to find out there was a whole world of shopping that she had yet to explore. They were gonna have to wait a few days before they could have a shopping spree but plans were being made.

A gentle jingle went off that alerted that the boys were done eating. Hailey went to go and pick them up and began to burp them, Stefan followed and held Caelan while she held Cedar. She decided to move the bassinet closer to her seat so she hovered it over, she gestured to Stefan and both put their children in. She looked through the baby bag and found the boy’s pacifiers, it lulled them to sleep fairly quickly due to their tummies being full. Seeing the boys falling asleep reminded Remus to give Hailey her room key. “Cub, here’s yours I already have mine as do Ron and Hermione.”, Stefan looked confused at the key what was it for?

“Oh yeah, we checked the house. The outside is pretty good but the inside needs some color. The furniture needs to be bought, so we’ll look at catalogs tomorrow. We’ll need kitchen stuff and bathroom stuff but that’s about it. But everything will feel just like home once we start hanging some pictures and portraits around. We already put your bags in the Master bedroom Hailey, awesome part is that it connects to a smaller room that can be made into a nursery. Also, Remus, Tonks we made sure to make a door between yours and Teddy’s nursery.”, Ron and Hermione checked out the house. There was some workers fixing it up from the ministry that mostly just stayed out of their way. They were replacing paint, getting rid of mold, and remolding the house essentially to be more modern on the inside and keep the look on the outside. The man in charge said it would be ready by tomorrow morning as planned. They could have the workers do everything for them but then it wouldn’t feel like home.

Stefan was starting to feel worried, he didn’t want to be separated from his mate and sons! His vampire was beginning to go into a frenzy as well, they went so long without her being in a different building will definitely make him neurotic. But they already made arrangements for the night and he can’t just insist for her family to spend the night when it wasn’t his house. He felt his head spin but luckily his pseudo brother was having the same idea. A recovering ripper has very gentle control, Stefan having to deal with everything here is already pushing it as it is. Klaus has no doubt that Stefan could recover, he has trained and pushed himself so much to have a good control of his bloodlust he just needed a bit more time and of course the support of his mate. “How about you spend the night here instead, after today’s events I would rather we have everyone in one place?”, Klaus offered.

“That’s very kind of you but we wouldn’t want to impose-“, Remus didn’t want to impose on the man. He and Moony are not sure how to view Klaus yet. He was the brother to what is basically his nephew-in-law. It seems strange to view him as a nephew though since Klaus and Stefan were older than him. Perhaps being with them for the night would help. But there was a question that he needed an answer to before he could agree.

“Please you would be easing me and we have more than enough room for everyone.”, Klaus insisted. He could see Remus was willing to accept. He could see Stefan getting anxious while waiting for Remus’s decision.

“Well…thank you. But that does bring up what had occurred today, why on earth would you need to be eased and why did we hear about Hailey having been involved in some brawl?”, he was worried about what dangers she could encounter. They left the wizarding world because of its laws and fighting even after the war. They just wanted some semblance of peace.

“I’m afraid that would be my fault. While we trying to get Hailey something to eat earlier we ran into my biological brother Damon. Damon resents me for a lot of things and he was trying to get a ride out of me and he succeeded. He insulted me and then moved to try and seduce Hailey in front of me. Next thing I know he’s on the ground and I’m punching him in the face.”, Stefan said with guilt lacing his tone. But Remus understood as a creature himself. The nerve of that man to try and do that to a mated couple, mates were not common in their world but not unheard of they were considered sacred in creature law. But unless properly bonded, a wedding ceremony, their world would dismiss it. Hearing of this Damon’s actions reminded him of the stories he’s heard of noble men trying to force a mated woman into courting or marriage and completely ignoring the mating bond. To families like the Malfoy’s and Parkinson’s they deemed mating to be below them. He sneered at the thought of his niece being pursued by some deviant that didn’t respect the bond.

Remus looked to Stefan and saw how he still had a face of guilt, that needed to stop. “Get that look of guilt of your face! What you did was justified, a man, a brother no less is supposed to respect a relationship between a man and a woman. Your brother did not, in creature law it would have been justified for you to take his head off.”, he took a deep breath he needed to calm himself before Moony takes it as an invite to go and look for the other Salvatore brother. “What I’m saying is a man protects what he loves and you did that granted it could have been in a more controlled manner. But I will not scold you on defending Hailey and your sons. We are family now and we accept all of you, your brother is just something that if necessary will be dealt with.”, Remus said as he walked to Stefan and put a hand on his shoulders. Family means being there for each other through thick and thin it is not determined by genetics or blood. He gave Stefan an understanding smile, Hailey was close and drew them both for a hug with happy tears in her eyes. Both men were flustered but still had smiles.

“Hermione be a dear and call the hotel we’re staying here for the night.” Remus requested to Hermione she smiled and got the deed done. Klaus had send a group of Hybrids with Ron to go get the luggage but they didn’t expect to side-along apparate with him. He got a scolding from Hermione when he returned as the hybrids were very nauseous. The pack took turns patrolling easing Stefan, Klaus, and Remus. The hybrids usually stayed on the first floor to sleep. The couples roomed together in the barely used second floor. Stefan had his own room and was delighted to have his family sharing it with him. Hailey fed the boys once more before burping them with the assistance of Stefan. They put them to sleep in the bassinets Hailey hovered from the dining room. Stefan chuckled at the simple yet amazing use of magic. He wasn’t sure if Bonnie could even do something like that.

That night Rebekah and Klaus had a serious discussion. Klaus was nearly complete in making hybrids, enough to protect his family from Mikael but it brought the question of their brothers. He had no doubt that his brothers would want to inflict serious damage to him but he made a vow. Rebekah was with him, ever since Hailey entered Stefan’s life and in return them entering the family Klaus had seem closer to how he had been when they were human. He’s progressed so much and went to extreme lengths to ensure their family safety from father. She suggested that they undagger their brothers as soon as Hailey, the boys, and the rest of the family were in their new home. There was no way they were gonna risk their lives with their brothers thirst. She made some suggestions to make her brothers forgive Klaus faster.

Elijah would need to have a conversation with Klaus, a long one and once he sees how much Klaus resembles his old self things will be fine. Kol would be tricky as all he was ever interested in was witches and magic, though a light went up in Klaus’s head at that. After Kol gets his anger out he would reveal what he has learned, a whole world hidden filled with magic. Rebekah thought about it and it should be enough to placate Kol and after he’s controlled his hunger he could even meet the new witches and wizards of Mystic Falls. Rebekah had doubt on Finn, all he ever cared for was Sage and Klaus killed her. She slapped Klaus on the head and berated him for doing so but was momentarily shocked to see his confusion. He never killed Sage, it spurred Rebekah. That was it! All was needed was to locate Sage and Finn would be fine.

Before going to sleep that night for Klaus he was plagued with thoughts on his brothers. He knew that the bonds he had with Kol and Finn needed serious mending. After so long he just wanted his brothers back, for them to be safe and he didn’t care if he made them angry by doing so. What hurt would be knowing that he hurt his brothers in another way. They were well adverse with anger but he knew that like Elijah all his brothers needed a conversation perhaps multiple. But he wouldn’t stop until they realized that they were family and he needed them safe. They could hate him but he would never forgive himself if they thought in any way that they didn’t matter to him. Every sin and atrocities he had committed had been to protect his siblings, even if to them he was just their…bastard brother. He went to sleep hoping for the future to shed light on his family old and new.

Stefan felt completely content and slightly embarrassed. Hailey was dressed in ONLY a t-shirt with her underwear. We had similar sleeping attire but she seemed completely oblivious to what having her so close to him is doing. She was already asleep and they were spooning but he had a…problem. She would shift and accidentally rub against him taking him forever to will away his…stiffness. But he went to sleep happy. Every three hours the boys would wake demanding nourishment and attention. He and Hailey were grateful that they did it at the same time.

It did give him the chance to think through the night, he panicked at not being with Hailey for the night how would he handle her being in an entire different building. He brought it up with her and she was understanding she had actually planned to invite him to live in their mansion as they were married it made sense for them to live in the same home. It made him elated but he had to tell Klaus, they would need to make a new schedule to keep his training up. When the morning came there was more pack family cooking, Stefan cooked Hailey her share as she had to feed the boys. He was rewarded with a delightful thank you kiss that had everyone wolf-whistle at them. Stefan told Klaus about upcoming changes and Klaus was happy to make a few tweaks to their schedule. Someone rung the doorbell breaking the happy domestic atmosphere, Tyler stood up to answer it after getting a nod from Klaus. They all grew annoyed as the person started impatiently banging on the door.

They were beyond annoyed when it was opened to reveal Damon and Elena. They pushed pass Tyler as if they owned the place and marched to the dining table. Hailey’s family was confused as who they were until they saw the look on Hailey’s face. She looked uncomfortable and annoyed and that was enough for her family to know that these people were here to bring trouble. Remus was sitting in front of Stefan and nudged him to get his attention. He raised an eyebrow and Stefan let out an annoyed sigh that caused Damon to smirk at him and Elena to just look disappointed…but it turned into jealousy at seeing the new girl right next to Stefan. “Might as well get this out of the way, that is Damon, my brother, and that’s Elena Gilbert. Her blood, while human, let’s Klaus make hybrids.”, Stefan didn’t say anything more as that is all they were to him now. They nodded in understanding, Elena looked angry at Stefan’s introduction of her. It turned angrier when the new girl put a hand on Stefan as if to assure him of something.

Klaus was the one to ask the question. “Miss Gilbert I do believe that we don’t require you for another three days. What on Earth are you doing in my home, uninvited?”, he hoped and prayed to anyone listening that Salvatore hadn’t convinced her to lash out.

“Who is she and what do you have planned Klaus?”, the nerve of this human girl.

“I believe I already told you who she is Elena. She’s my wife and mother to my-“, Stefan was saying annoyed but then got cut off by his infuriating brother.

“That’s total crap and you know it Stefan!”, Damon was done with that stupid cover story.

“Well not that it’s any of your business but Hailey is a witch, not like Bonnie and her mind at all, and the boys are halflings. Half vampire, half wizard.”, he proceeded to explain their story for what felt like the fifth time. He ignored the disbelieving scoffs and annoyed glares from both of them. He got agitated when Elena had started to glare and march up to him and Hailey. She ignored the tables warning growls and then proceeded to rant.

“You can’t expect us to believe that a vampire knocked you up! I remember Stefan coming back from that mission and it was like three months ago. If he had been able to actually put a baby in you wouldn’t they need more time to actually be born?”, she ended with a scoff. Elena thought back on the night Stefan came back and he had those marks that had nearly driven her crazy! That damned new girl was the same girl that left those disgusting marks on Stefan! As soon as she was done she felt her hair begin to stick up on its ends. She looked and saw that little attention hogger had a blank face but her eyes were glowing and brewing a storm. She was about to make another remark when she was suddenly upside down in mid air. She went up with a startled yelp and felt as if a rope was hanging into her foot, she was flailing about that she didn’t notice the room go deadly silent as the Mistress of Death made her way in front of her. Damon was about to speed to them but was held back by Stefan and Tyler. Elena stopped struggling and shouting when a delicate hand and held her face in a painful grip.

“I don’t care what you believe it doesn’t change the fact that Stefan is the father to my sons. You are of great value to Klaus at the moment so I won’t harm you for your disrespect of my family. But know this I could kill you with two words, I could make you bite your tongue and fingers off with a single word, and with a single word I can make you feel as if your blood had been replaced with molted lava. Don’t ever believe that I will stand for your spoiled behavior, any disrespect or harm to my family and any nightmares you have I will make into a reality.”, her family was standing at attention just as they did in the war. Her voice used with Elena was reserved for death eaters and Voldemort. It put terror and respect though anyone soul who heard it, except for Damon and Elena they had pure terror on their faces. Stefan was practically drooling over how fierce Hailey had spoke. He and Tyler finally let Damon go when Elena had fallen in a very ungraceful heap on the floor.

Damon pulled Elena close to him once he got her off of the floor. She was enjoying being so close to Damon but she couldn’t ignore how Stefan was fawning over Potter. Elena was furiously jealous that girl was gorgeous, apparently had married Stefan, and given him children. She would have never been able to do any of that and standing in the same room as Potter makes her feel inadequate. She needed her gone now! Not to mention Potter is a threat, maybe she had Stefan under some spell, and maybe she was there to threaten Elena. She whispered to Damon her thoughts and Damon was set in at least leaving a mark. Damn Stefan again for getting everything! Elena was still pining over him and now he had a gorgeous witch on his arm! And apparently he was a father, that was Damon’s dream first, he’s older, he deserves to have what he wants too!!

The whole room was now ignoring their existence. It reminded Damon of when he was a human child and baby Stefan was born. Suddenly he didn’t matter, he was overlooked, he only got attention when he demanded it. But Stefan had some weird talent that made people pay more attention to him. He didn’t have everyone watching him and that had made a very resentful Damon. It had gotten slightly better once Stefan got older but the resentment never disappeared, it multiplied when Katherine came. He made his way to the little witch bitch and her brats. Stefan was across the room previously talking to Klaus and trying to ignore their presence. But his vampire face came in full force at seeing Damon near his wife and children.

Damon, who loves to torment Stefan at any chance he gets, leaned over Hailey when Stefan was being placated by Klaus to not go into a murderous rage. Flirting with her was getting him nowhere and he was staring to get annoyed. He put his hand on her shoulder and was planning to crush it with his enhanced strength to give her a good scare when the unexpected happened, at least to Damon and Elena. The twins while still infants where very in tune with energy, to the point that they could be empaths. They sensed their ‘uncle’s’ energy, it was filled with so much negativity that the twins had a flight or fight reaction. They were definitely their parents children as both reacted with fight. Caelan had hissed and protracted his baby fangs and bit the hand that intended to cause his mother harm. While Cedar in distress used his accidental magic to start throwing anything that wasn’t nailed to the ground at him bringing the situation to the whole room’s attention. Elena cursed under her breath.

Once he saw his brother’s hand on his mate he was engulfed with possessiveness at seeing it, protectiveness from seeing how much distress her and the twins are, and saw red as Damon had soon recovered and turn his anger from Caelan biting him and Cedar throwing things, to Hailey. Damon had started to protract his fangs to drain Hailey as punishment but was interrupted from it as his little brother had decided to punch him in the jaw. The punch was strong enough that it shattered his jaw and threw him into the opposite wall. Soon a whole team of hybrids had him pinned to the ground as the Original hybrid himself walked over and bent at his waist to speak to Damon.

“Now, I believe we have given you fair warning about trying to harm her. Not to mention the twins poor throats from crying. You have broken the agreement now, Elena dear I’m afraid he must be punished.”, Klaus said. His voice sounded nonchalant but his face gave off how angry he was. He had his eyes glowing and glaring down at Damon. He made a shooing motion with his hand and the hybrids took it as the sign to drag Damon to the dungeon. Damon was trying to break free but the hybrids didn’t let up. Elena started to panic.

“You can’t do that! We had a de-“, she was on the verge of having another crying hit when she was cut off.

“The deal was that I can’t hurt you or anyone you cared for. However it did not say anything about Rebekah and Stefan and definitely nothing about our new family members. They have total freedom to enact the punishment the elder Salvatore deserves.”, Klaus said with an impish smirk. He had his hands behind his back to indicate that it wasn’t his hands that would have Damon’s blood on them. She looked to Stefan ignoring his glare and ran to him and clenched at his forearms. Causing Hailey to glare at her.

“Stefan please! Be reasonable this is your-“, she was starting to shake him and plead with him. But Stefan was fed up and pushed her away. The action itself made Elena had a face on as if he had just slapped her.

“NOT MY BROTHER ANYMORE ELENA! He had his chance and he tried to hurt my wife and sons! Every instinct in me is begging for me to end him! Be grateful that Klaus hasn’t decided to kill him!”, he was fed up with Elena shrieking and grabbing him. It felt wrong to have her touch him. Elena fell to her knees with unshed tears in her eyes and looked shocked at Stefan’s disregard of her. She looked to Tyler in hopes of getting sympathy but he was avoiding her eyes and instead focusing on making the twins laugh at his silly faces. He and Ron were actually succeeding which made Hailey smile. At seeing her smile Elena had enough and stormed out of the mansion and back to the boardinghouse.

There she found the gang that had answered her calls, as usual. All of them had hesitant faces on after what happened at the grill. When Elena retold her story of what occurred they dreaded what she was going to ask of them. They were given warnings but of course Damon had to go and mess with the person that they were told under no circumstances to mess with. The girl was a new mother for goodness sakes, why would Damon and Elena try to hurt her?! Bonnie had asked the very question and Elena started on again. Caroline had enough of hearing how Elena was making it seem that they were attacked and of course making herself the damsel in distress. Especially since Elena’s plan was to break in the Mikaelson Mansion to get Damon.

“Elena! I would rather choke on my own intestines before risking my life for Damon!”, Caroline finally snapped. With tears in her eyes she finally turned her back to Elena and made her way to the door.

“We can’t just abandon him, Care! Think of everything he’s done for-“, Elena was ready to start one of her insufferable speeches about how Damon had redeemed himself but was cut off abruptly. Everyone deserved a second chance but…Damon Salvatore has had more than enough chances. His own brother had been able to see that why can’t Elena!?

“For YOU, Elena! For you and even then it’s for selfish reasons. Elena I have been your friend since forever but I can’t do it anymore. After everything he’s done, you still want him. He’s the reason your biological dad died remember! Because he was selfish and forced his blood onto you! He’s the reason I had turned into a vampire because he was taking advantage of me and didn’t want his walking blood bag to die! He killed Mason, Elena! You know the guy that babysat us until we were thirteen! The worst part is, is that I know that none of this changes how you feel towards him!”, she couldn’t hold anything back anymore! She was sobbing everything out and Elena had misty eyes but didn’t challenge anything she was saying. So much had happened, they all had lost so much, and what she named was only what she knew of. They all had their grievances with Damon but Elena seems to just wave them off.

“I know Elena that the reason you started liking Damon was because he didn’t care who he hurt in order for you to be alive, which unfortunately includes the rest of us! I’m done Elena, I’m done with everyone your supposed to care about being disposable side characters in your life!”, with everything out in the air the room was silent. Caroline had tear tracks on her face and she finally walked out of the room. She just couldn’t handle it anymore, Elena didn’t care and even encouraged Damon to try and hurt the new girl. A girl in which she knew had babies to mother, she just couldn’t believe Elena would be so selfish to want to get rid of that girl just because Stefan fell for her. She needed someone to talk to…hopefully Stefan wouldn’t mind another person on his side. Tyler had the right idea about staying with his new pack. Maybe she could finally get to know the Originals a bit more without Elena and Damon whispering in her ear. She made her stance known she wonders what the rest of them will do.

Hermione had been the one to suggest getting phones as a way to contact and pinpoint each other when magic wasn’t an option. The ones with capability to talk had gotten the same kind of phone with different colored cases. Hailey had black, Hermione had blue, Ron had red, Moony went with amber yellow, and Tonks went with pink. Before leaving everyone made it clear to her that they wanted her to check in if any new occurrences happened. With Damon cornering her, her reunion with Stefan, and her having to separate the fight, she hadn’t any time to check in or think about checking in with Moony and everyone else. Despite him yelling out her name when she picked up his call she could also her the relief in his voice. She felt guilty for making them worried. The vampires were confused as to why someone was yelling at her and almost caused Stefan to take the phone from her to snarl at whoever was on the other side of the phone. He was placated when Hailey threw him a sheepish smile to him.

“WE WERE ALL WORRIED! WHAT HAPPENED?! YOU WERE JUST SUPPOSED TO TAKE A LOOK AROUND!! AND NOW I HEAR ALL THESE RUMORS ABOUT YOU HAVING TO STOP A FIGHT?!?! WERE ARE YOU AND THE TWINS?! I SWEAR IF SOME HOOLIGAN-“, rightfully mortified and embarrassed she cut off her uncle’s fretting, even without enhanced hearing there would be no way that the other occupants in the room didn’t here the worried werewolf. Klaus and Rebekah had an amused face on from hearing how overprotective the caller sound but they were confused as to who it is as they were not informed of Hailey’s family. Stefan had a troubled face on, he was worried that he had already made a bad impression on his mates family by not being there during Hailey’s pregnancy and then with all the rumors around there was no doubt in his mind that they saw him in a bad light. Hailey without noticing Stefan’s face had leaned her head on his shoulder to calm herself down and unknowingly calming her mate down as well.

“Moony! I’m sorry that I didn’t check in but so much happened and I can’t exactly say it over a call. I’ll be back soon and I won’t be alone, please make sure everyone is there.”, she knew that this was news you can’t just spout off over the phone, not to mention with how her uncle was reacting it was best to do it in person. She was mainly worried about how he would react to Stefan. The twins are only half and so far he hasn’t reacted negatively to them but Stefan was a nearly two hundred years old full vampire. He already knew her mate is a vampire but sometimes instinct doesn’t correspond to common sense. She needed to introduce Stefan to her family in a gentle manner, less having to deal with another supernatural brawl. One thing was for certain she will not have her uncle and husband at each other’s throats! While hardening her resolve Stefan tensed up, meeting the family of the girl you love was enough to make any guy anxiety ridden.

“Pup…what’s happened, is anything wrong?!”, Remus was understandably worried the last few months have been shock after shock. He already had grey hairs from the stress of the war and from the twins being born. He had fainted when Tonks told him she was expecting and again at all the babies being born. He wasn’t sure if he would survive another shock. The news of Hailey getting unknowingly married nearly send him into cardiac arrest!

“No, Moony. It’s just that…this is something that everyone needs to hear in person.”, oh sweet merciful Merlin! This had to be payback from all the mischief he had done in school. He could just hear Sirius and James laughing at him from the grave over how much he was fretting. What kind of news would make Hailey want to say it in person. It didn’t help that Tonks and Teddy were laughing and giggling at his expressions over the phone call. He threw his wife a narrowed look and softly scowled at her when she feigned innocence. It didn’t help that Teddy just giggled harder at the interaction. Hailey could hear Teddy and smiled softly, Stefan could as well and imagined what it would be like when the boys would start? They arranged to be at the mansion with Ron and Hermione after Remus got wind of Hailey not having eaten. He will not have her going all over the place on an empty stomach.

At being reminded to eat, Hailey promptly asked Klaus if she could use the kitchen. Klaus had first rejected and offered to have his hybrids make something for her, but she was adamant. He couldn’t very well win the argument so he relented. Stefan had smiled at the domestic argument and beamed when Hailey had told him to hold the boys while she made the food. Soon after he had the boys strapped to his chest and bouncing them them to see the faint smiles on their faces with the Originals trailing after him, hoping to hold the babies again. While Hailey was with Stefan momentarily Klaus had talked to his hybrids and told them to leave Hailey be unless she asked and to not do anything that could expose them. He wasn’t sure if Stefan had told her yet. Back in the kitchen, the hybrids were confused to see a teen girl bouncing around the kitchen but Klaus had ordered them to leave her be. They were okay with being under Klaus, as long as they didn’t betray him they were under his protection.

Tyler was among them and he had broken up with Caroline in order to show his loyalty to the pack, Klaus didn’t endanger their lives every few months. A certain doppelgänger can’t say the same with her family and friends. Even without the sire bond the wolves genuinely feel that Klaus has earned their loyalty, they just feel a little intimidated to actually show it. Klaus was the alpha and had given them the option of not having to go through the transformation every full moon. Non werewolves would never be able to understand how much that means. With how the curse is triggered, it would usually have happened after a tragic accident that already leaves survivor’s feeling guilty to so much more dread. Car crashes, not being fast enough to stop an occurrence, preservation instincts, and just total accidents is how most of the pack triggered the curse. What matters the most to the pack is that the pain is finally gone and loyalty. Klaus has been very adamant that they be careful and protected, he didn’t just want an army he wanted his own family. Tyler was siding with Klaus not just because of the bond but because he’s seen how easily anyone who isn’t just blaring “Team Elena GO!”, is just thrown away by her and her groupies.

His uncle, a guy who used to babysit Tyler and all his childhood friends, a guy Elena knew of her entire life, a guy that was just being manipulated, and wasn’t even considered to be explain to what was really happening. His uncle had been brutally killed by Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert didn’t even bat an eye or bother to inform him, he had to learn from Caroline. Another point: Caroline Forbes, Elena’s long time childhood best friend. Elena knew about how Damon was just using Caroline for blood, information, and sex and yet she was still falling in love with him. Caroline was just staying on Elena’s side for loyalty and for that he could respect but she was giving it to the wrong person. Elena only ever thought about what made her happy, must be that Petrova blood. He cared for Caroline , a lot but he knew that they were better as friends. He’s heard and seen how Klaus ‘fancied’ her and was now contemplating on telling him of Damon’s actions. It’s what he was thinking after seeing Klaus’s recent behaviors with the younger Salvatore before his attention was snapped to the ebony haired girl.

What she was making smelled divine and had their inner wolves wagging their tails. She had enjoyed cooking, it would have been loved if not for her relatives. Though when she was making the steak she could see that the people around her were practically drooling. She couldn’t help but ask if they were hungry, they looked equivalent to children who were caught red handed and no one answered until a young man walked up and nodded. He looked around her age and had a minor blush on his face when his stomach had made itself known along with his pack. “Well, I’d be happy to cook up a meal for everyone but I’ll need some help if you lot don’t mind?”, the hybrid pack and Tyler looked between each other and back to Hailey. They all nodded sheepishly and were quickly put to work by the small teen, something in her just compelled them to following her orders. They were divided into four groups. Group one were put to chop up and boil the potatoes to make mashed potatoes. Group two were to chop up vegetables and add seasoning for the salad. Group three, that had Tyler and Hailey, were to make a lot more steak along with a lot of beef. And finally, group four was in charge of baking dessert. The whole time they were joking around, smiles on their faces, and learning more about the new girl. They were hungry hybrids, along with her, three vampires, and her family coming they had enough prepared to feed an army.

The scene the vampires and babies walked in on was nothing short of shocking. They had been trailing Stefan and begging to hold the boys again but he was stubborn and wanted to keep them to himself for a little while longer. Then they had walked in the kitchen to check on Hailey and instead saw her setting up a feast with the hybrids on the very large dining table. All were in smiles and following her word without questioning her. Klaus hadn’t ordered them to do that. It was as if a huge family had taken over the kitchen. And at the center of it all was Hailey Potter. The vampires couldn’t help but marvel at how she easily was handling the pack and how the pack was showing a large amount of respect and awe that was usually reserved for Klaus.

Klaus had cleared his throat and everything halted. He and the others raised an eyebrow. If anything he was slightly envious that the young girl was able to to garner support from his pack. She smiled at them and walked up to Stefan who was still holding the boys. The hybrids were wondering why the younger Salvatore had babies with him. She shocked the hybrids by pecking a besotted Stefan on the lips and kissed the babies foreheads. She looked to the group of vampires and had a sheepish smirk, “Hungry?”, she dipped her finger in some mashed potatoes and proceeded to suck on it innocently.

Stefan’s eyes had darkened with lust at seeing her finger enter and exit her mouth but he shook his head. He couldn’t and wouldn’t do anything until he knew she was ready and healed. She had just given birth and he didn’t know much about childbirth or the female body but he knew that she needed some well deserved rest. They all moved to the very large table and most of everyone was trying to scramble for a seat near Hailey when the doorbell rang. Klaus had nodded to a hybrid to go answer the door, he was half expecting the mystic falls gang to have showed up and was surprised to see new people. He figured they must be Hailey’s family when she went to go greet them. The eldest man had pulled her into a worried hug while the not-so-much older woman looked on in slight amusement with an a year old child with a little sun hat on. There were two others a boy and girl who were the same age as Hailey looking over her then looking over the room. They all possessed eyes that were as haunted as the many soldiers he had seen returned from battle. However a familiar smell had caused him and the hybrids to tense up.

Stefan stood in order to greet Hailey’s family when the hug ended but promptly froze in place when he noticed that her uncle was staring at him with amber eyes. He’d almost forgotten, Uncle Moony is a werewolf. While vampires don’t really react to their presence, wolves definitely do. When her uncle noticed that he was still holding the boys, he started to growl at this Stefan was ready to hiss and clutch the boys close to him, Klaus and his hybrids were close to growling to show dominance. Moony was only able to come out some because of how close the full moon was and because of the threat of a vampire near his pack. He stopped when Hailey decided to step in between them. He (along with the rest of the room) was having a minor anxiety attack at her putting herself in harms way and was ready to rush over when she started speaking in a very soft voice.

“Easy Moony. Look at me.”, she was gesturing over her figure and Moony was tracking her every move. “I’m fine, okay? Everything is fine. He isn’t a threat, he’s protecting the boys and he protected me today. Moony, I need Remus back.”, he growled low at this still glaring at Stefan. He has become protective of what Remus has started to see as family, they were lack now.“Moony! He is mine just as I’m his. Please, he’s important to me and I need to show that to Remus too. I promise, no one in your pack is in danger, okay?”, only at this Moony bowed his head in submission and Remus came back. Hailey walked up to him, ignoring the tense atmosphere of the room, grabbed his shoulders and turned him slightly to Stefan. Both men had a befuddled face on but she continued with, “Uncle Remus, Tonks, Teddy-bear, Ron, and Hermione I’d like to introduce you to my mate, husband, and father of my children, Stefan Salvatore. Stefan I’d like you to meet ‘some’ of my family.”, almost in sync the room had stared and blinked at her. The silence was broken when a snort had broken free from Ron.

In breathless laughter, “Really sis, we need to work on your introductions.”, Ron said.

“I just figured it’s better to get it out…I already know everything about them!”,she said in a pout. Stefan had walked up to her chuckling in near exasperation and proceeded to nuzzle her neck to calm himself a bit. This caused the hybrids to break out of their stupor, why was she saying a vampire was her babies father? If it was before he was turned it would have been believable but Stefan was almost two hundred years old. A braver hybrid had stepped up to question her, Tyler.

“If you know everything than you know it’s not possible for Salvatore to be the father, right?”, he said in some trepidation. He liked the new girl, he hoped that he didn’t make the wrong assumption about her character.

“If I was anyone else it wouldn’t be. But unfortunately I’m the fates favorite chew toy. You see I’m not normal, just like how everyone else isn’t either.”, she might as well tell them now. Stefan said that Klaus and Rebekah stepped up to be his family and she didn’t want to have secrets between them. She learned from the war that secrets were unnecessary and just caused pain in the end. Everyone just raised an eyebrow at her and Stefan, expecting some more explaining. Ron and the others started to help themselves at the table. “You see I’m a witch, everyone in my family hear is a witch or wizard. But we’re different than the ones you’re used to. We refer to your kind as supernaturals and your witches as wiccans.”, still seeing some doubt on Klaus and Rebekah she retrieved her elder wand from her holster. She looked to Stefan who looked confused at her wand, “I never did show you how we were different.”

She saw that her family was ready to see her display as well, they wanted to see how well her magic was doing after the twins being born. She looked to Tyler who had a unimpressed look on his face. “Brace yourself puppy. EXPECTO PATRONUM!”, and just like that the room was filled with a sparkling light, out of the tip of Hailey’s wand emerged a stag. It was a very impressive sight as the stag had emerged walking calmly with a kingly like aura. It then jumped onto an invisible floor that was just above Tyler’s head that caused him to yelp. It trounced on midair before going back to Hailey and bowing its head to her feet and disappearing.

“Just so you know while not being as impressive as her we can all do that as well. Hailey is considered to be the most powerful witch but one thing is for sure we are not the same as the wiccans you have encountered.”, Hermione felt the need, as always to explain, she smacked Ron on the arm when he started to chuckle. He rolled his eyes fondly at her. “We are also not the only ones. There is a whole society of us that are hidden from what we consider the muggle or no-maj world.”, she added after another second of silence. It was finally broken by a hysterical Klaus.

“WHAT THE BLOODY HELL JUST HAPPENED?!?!”, great. Stefan’s turn to deal with a slightly emotional supernatural creature.
