Hey ! I have a headcanon but I can't write it , could you do it for me, pretty please ? š
It's Billy's birthday, Bella give him a present and tell him that Esme help her. He frowns but open it anyway and it's... a realistic painting of Ephraim and the first pack. Because the Cullen have met them and could talk about them to the current Quileute and he realise that only now.
Thank youš This is a great headcanon! I'm sorry I spentĀ some time thinking about how to write it. Here it is.Ā
"Have they really gone?ā Billy asked as Bella pushed him into the house.
"Yes. Except for me and Edward." Bella looked around the room. Jacob was nowhere to be seen.
"He went to the grocery store," Billy said to her.
"Emmett and Rosalie got enrolled at a university in Europe. Alice and Jasper went to South America. Carlisle had found a job in Vermont and he got there last week. Esme stayed a few days longer for her project, and she got on a plane this morning to Vermont."
"I have to say, this is the best birthday present ever."Ā
"After everything⦠everything that had happened here, they felt that the sooner they left the better. Carlisle said the fewer people we stay here, the less impact we would make on the tribe"
"Hum. It's a pity he didn't realize it earlier." Billy said bitterly.
He remembered feeling the chills running down his back when the vampire doctor called. How he wished that those vampires did not exist, that the vampires did not put his children's lives in danger over and over again. He could finally relax. They were gone and will never return.
"I thought Iāll see you later at Charlie's. What brought you here?" Billy habitually went into the kitchen to offer Bella the fried fish that had just been cooked. Just as he was about to fetch the fish, he realized that he had forgotten that she was a vampire now, with sculptural pale figure, weird eyes and pungent smell like the mix of shampoo and cream.
He went back to the living room and looked at Bella sitting on the sofa. He was still not sure if it was still āthe Bellaā who ran around while he and Charlie were fishing, who beat little Jacob to tears with the mud, who would roll down the van window and greet him warmly when they met.
But still, once Billy thought that she would leave like the rest of the Cullens one day, he felt his heart aches.
"Esme asked me to bring you something."
"Again. We don't take charity, or any 'compensate of penance'."
"It's not money. Wait for me, will you?" Bella went out at human speed and returned with a large, delicate rectangular package.
Billy frowned and didn't reach out to take it. He refused to accept anything from the vampires. The woman's smell was still lingered on it.
Esme.Ā
Billy wondered. He didn't know the vampire doctor's wife and tries to avoid the Cullens whenever he goes to town to run errands. In his vague impression, Esme was a strange person. When he met her once in the supermarket, she caught him in the eye, smiled at him, and quickly grabbed her bags and left the store. And Jacob and Seth like the sandwiches she made.
No matter what, she's the leaderās wife. She's a vampire. Small acts of kindness could never make up for the harm they caused because they were not supposed to disturb their lives at the first place.
"Please? We made this together, me and Esme."Ā
Billy gave up, took it, and unwrapped the package.
To his surprise, it was a portrait, as real as a photo, painted three members of the pack whose names were written at the bottom, Ephraim Black, Levi Uley, and Quill Atoeara II.
"This is..."
"She painted the 1930s shape-shifters as she remembered them."
Billy stared at the three young men in the picture. He had never known what Ephraim looked like in his youth. Ephraim's few remaining photographs, taken in his later years, were kept in the Blackās family album. It had been so long since Billy had looked through the album that Ephraim's face had blurred in his memory. As far as he could remember, his grandfather always had white hair, wrinkles on his forehead, and a scar near his brow.
Carefully, Billy ran his finger over the scar on Ephraim's left brow on the portrait.
"Well. I'm glad that the vampires are gone and weāre finally in peace again." Billy put the portrait down and leaned it against the wall.
"Seven o 'clock at Charlie's. Don't forget. Thereās a cake for you." Bella tried to hide her disappointment when Billy didn't talk about the portrait as if it did not exist.
"Did he make the cake or did he buy it?"
"Will you eat it if he made it?" Bella teased.
"Hell no." Billy laughed. He felt like his Bella was back.
"Tell her. Esme. Tell her I said thanks." Billy said to Bella as she walked out of the house.
