My au on batfam and dahlia al ghul
Ras didn’t care for Talia as much as he did in the regular.he didn’t care if she gave him a heir since he knew that she wouldn’t give him a boy.Talia tried to get his approval but all he cared for was her obedience so all her efforts were in vain.when Talia gave birth to dahlia,he didn’t as much as blink nor visited since he knew it would amount to nothing.
Talia trained and loved dahlia with gracefulness and blood.she taught her everything she knew so she wouldn’t be forgotten like she was.she still gave her the idea that Tim was an imposter like in the comics so when she was sent off to live with her father, she still tried to kill him by pushing him off the dinosaur.while dahlia thought she would be met with thankfulness like her mother said, that was not the case.as soon as Bruce realized what she had done,he locked her away in a room away from the family wing and closed off from the world.he didn’t treat her like a child and didn’t want to forgive her for almost killing his son(not another one)
She was locked away for days, trying to earn forgiveness.there were times where he and she would fight and he would treat the sessions as though she was one of the lowly criminals on the street.he was ruthless to her while dahlia was obedient, just like her mother told her to be.the manor became her prison for almost 2 years, during that time she rarely saw Tim and even then he couldn’t look to her, while dahlia wanted to apologize since she knew that the situation was not in her favor and that she truly felt guilt, one of her weaknesses.
Alfred was her only escape and person who treated her as human, the whole in the wall that opened to the inside of the walls became her escape and she felt as though she was becoming listless and useless.
She got out of the manor but not by someone you would expect, she was treated like a child and loved in returned.she was free from the emptiness of the manor and she never wanted to go back nor did she want to ever be near Bruce again.her stay in the manor told her that she wasn’t apart of his world and that he wouldn’t care for her as if she was his blood child.
So she gave up on him
