When I saw Magearna deploying from her ball form
I immediately thought of 80-X Boxguard from Deus Ex: Human Revolution:
And now each time I see this cute robot Pokemon (Magearna), I can’t help but think of her saying “ENTER COMBAT” or some other 80-X phrases in some strange mix of her and Boxguard’s voices.
Today, I’ve had a even more weird dream than before. Like a previous one that I’ve wrought about, it was mostly composed of random events, but I remember a Cipher agent (who happened to be a Shadow Lugia, cloaked somewhat like a Latias in the movie) teaching me and a lot of other people lesson about a Shadow Pokemon creation process, while I was silently hacking a computer, which was on my table, complete with Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s hacking GUI. For some reason, I was required to cancel the hack, and that was the moment when “teacher” revealed his true nature, but, unlike most people would expect, it was non-violent - he was very close to the Shadow Pokemon’s dex depiction and had next to no emotions, although his true form’s vocal voice was pretty threatening because of how growling it was, but his reveal of his true form felt like it was “me as example” moment. Fortunately, no panic began, so the lesson continued. Also, I remember some moments with Faridah Malik/Adam Jensen relationships in different places, which’ve implied, that he completely broke up with Megan Reed, who’ve cheated on him with Jaron Namir and Bob Page, and fell in love with “fly-girl”, which he’d saved a year or so ago, and, according to some data passing by, it was after David Sarif’s ending. Also, there was a moment with a big underwater map, on which was depicted a lot of things: fallen rockets (including two “Energia” rockets with boosters and “Buran” orbiters still on them), sunk ships and, most interesting, some Xbox huge underwater installation, which was marked as an oil development station, but left impression of a some kind of Cipher’s fortress complete with Deus Ex Panchaea technology, specificially, Hyron Project. Looks like I’ve played way too much Deus Ex and Pokemon yesterday.
Human at Heart
To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting. - e. e. cummings I am in love with this image. It's simple but has power to me. I loved this game and Adam deserves more love! <3 Credit: Adam: Deus Ex Human Revolution Adam Jensen Glass by me. The Magun Mk IX is considered the "Perfected Model" of the original Magun (Designated the MK I) crafted by Moogle and wielded by Kuroki Kaze (Designation: Subject Zero), The MK IX being the Accumilation of Multiple realms' worth of research, experimentation and prototyping into Magun Designs. Combining a Mustang Arms Diamondback Revolver's unique side-break system, 'Tround' bullets and double action trigger, the Mk IX can be used like a Regular revolver as well as Summoning device, the Triple Barrels built for Soil Usage set at the upper section of the Mk IX. The Magun Mk IX uses 'Soil', the remnants of destroyed realms, to summon Either powerful summoned creatures, or in certain cases, Lost Heroes and Heroines to provide assistance in battle.
~[Design]~ The Mk IX Magun has a Dual Trigger system, packing a Standard Double action revolver Trigger to fire the 10mm Tround Magnum Cartridges, and a ring-shaped forward trigger to fire the Soil Cartridges. The Mk IX fires the standard trounds from bottom-cylinder (Six O'Clock position, as gunsmiths call it), making it's recoil pattern fairly controllable. It also has a laser pointer set in the space between the Four barrels, allowing the User to either 'Dazzle' an enemy, or to better pinpoint a target. The three upper barrels enshroud the top half of the Tround cylinder, as well as cover the Break-Action locking mechanism. The chambering caps hold the internal strikers that fire the Soil Cartridges, and are unlocked by pushing the triple barrels forward once. Loading the Soil Cartridges in, automatically closes and locks the Chamber Caps. ~[Comparison to the Original Magun]~ Compared to the Original Magun, the Magun Mk IX is more compact, easier on the hand, much lighter, and doesn't require merging to the user's arm. It also has more Variety in combat, allowing itself to be used as a Standard Weapon as well as a Summoning device, and has the ability to Purify Soil rounds, making them far more effective.
The Mk IX at first glance seemingly lacks the Engine Module of the Mk I used by Kaze. This is factually incorrect. The engine module is actually hidden behind the Laser Diode, being made smaller and more compact compared to previous models, while also being just as efficient, if not moreso, than the Original system. The lack of Transformation capability was considered an 'Advantage' as well, as the designers found that standing out in the open and letting a dramatic drawn out transformation sequence play out, was just asking for the Wielder to get rudely interrupted mid-monologue... A detail that was not nixxed in the Mk II, Mk III, Mk IV and Mk VI models of the Magun series, and got a majority of their Users either maimed or killed.
