Alright I’m bored, needing depth for my Fanfic, gonna analyze the Bad Batch’s barracks.
It’s a mess, clear cut right off the start which shows how little Kaminoan discipline of cleanliness (conditioning) was in affect in these particular clones.
Echo has the hammock near Tech’s bunk and surrounded by his equipment. Tech has hacked into the power conduits over his bunk to have all these mechanical arms and tools added so he could probably work on tinkering something by his bunk.- noted by @1fineslytherin. The lights here are dim, then after the Batch escapes Kamino and Crosshair moves in with his new squad the lights are restored to the typical Kaminoan illuminating fashion. This may have been done for Hunter to ease his senses, POSSIBLY.
As for that smell...
Wrecker has food on his bed, which has been left rotting and festering for about 206 or whatever rotations since the last time they were there. No wonder it smells. Along with a clothes line along the back wall which I guess is a step towards some sort of cleaning process? Boy’s a wreck. - I am not sorry for that pun.
Crosshair has a perch at the top left hand corner, it is level with Tech’s workstation from across the room. He has three posters of droids on his back wall, each have distinct holes in the papers resembling the proper kill shots necessary to put down a droid. Through the holes you can see the wall that they are pinned against, he used these for practice and brought them back to look at / show off / be his intimidating toothpick suckeling self. As pointed out by @yavielin-feanarien, the center poster spells the letter ‘C’ in Aruebesh. He also has 2 sets of fresh blacks folded neatly sitting on his sheets.
I do believe given Wrecker’s messy manner and Tech’s clutter, Crosshair and Hunter decided to take opposite sides to keep the room in some sort of balance. I say this because honestly I would want a roommate who is clean, not a slob, so in this kind of rooming situation I would want to be on the side with the other clean individual. But I can see why they would take opposite sides to maintain some sort of “Order” within the room.
Tech’s perch. 💕
-Tech states that he doesn’t want to sleep next to Wrecker’s junk in their opening episode...bro use those goggles to look at your own room first.
-Wrecker definitely stole that couch from somewhere. It’s a BIG couch for a BIG man such as himself. They have their bunks, benches with no backs to lean into, and crates are all that can be sat on in this room. Can definitely understand why Wrecker would bring this piece of furniture into their barracks.
Tech’s bunk is made, and adorns his scribbles of equations. With all this wall art, makes me wonder who drew that Padme nose art in the deleted reel. 😀 My credits on Tech.
Hunter’s bunk is made and tidy. he is definitely a boot man, called it! He has medals pinned to the backboard, no idea what that thing is in the corner, it might be a canteen. He’s got the iconic Bad Batch 99 skull on his wall, I just dig this man.
One last thing that I see a problem with as a collective, is that they don’t bring gonky into the room with them. I like to think that because he is a defective unit that the facility would snatch him up and decommission him, or that he would be bullied by other droids. So they agree that he’s gotta remain on the ship but still!
Anyways....I would still like to be their shared barrack hoe. No lie.

Echo slipped deeper into the water, a sigh escaping his lips. He’d not had a bath before. The water was warm around his shoulders, the soft bubbles tickling his skin and easing him into relaxation. You had helped him remove his prosthetics, which had been causing his limbs to ache for quite some time, and then helped him into the water. At first the prospect of a bath seemed a useless hassle to him, but seeing how much you enjoyed them had him acquiescing to see what all the fuss was about. In the little bathroom with the steam fogging up the windows, he had to admit, he got it. Bathing was quite relaxing. He sank deeper into the water, eyes closing.
A knock at the door interrupted his reveries. “It’s only me, can I come in?” Your voice called in from the other side.
“Mhm.”
You opened the door, leaning your weight against the frame and cocked your eyebrow. Echo hadn’t even opened his eyes. “I knew a bath would do your limbs good.”
He smiled. “Yeah, yeah, happy now?”
“Very. I’m just making a cuppa, d’you want one?”
“No thank you, Cyare.”
“Okay. Don’t fall asleep in there.” You wagged a finger at him despite how he still had his eyes closed.
“Oh actually,” he called out, eyes shooting open. “Join me?”
“Give me two minutes.”
Echo watched you gently shut the door, his gaze lingering in your direction. You’d known each other since before his accident. As a medic on Kamino, you’d had plenty of interaction with the clones, and when he’d been found by Rex and the Batch, it was only natural for you to treat him. From then on, you’d sort of been paired together and had joined the Batch as their unofficial medic, although the term was ‘escort’. As if Echo needed one, you’d always scoffed. Through the months you’d become closer still, and it felt inevitable to the two of you that you’d end up together. Echo still remembered the shaking in your hands as you’d held his, eyes wide with anxiety when you told him how you felt.
That was four years ago. The home you’d built on Pabu for the two of you had quickly grown to become a safe zone for Echo, a place where he could relax slightly from the terrors of war. Not that he minded, since he volunteered to aid Rex and the Rebellion, but his body was beginning to fail him, and he was spending more and more time at home. This was how he had ended up in the bath, your special soaps filling the water and easing his aching muscles.
The door creaked open and you reappeared, holding a mug of tea. He watched as you shut the door, quietly wandered over to him, and sat on the ground. You let your weight lean against the bath on one side, your legs folding up to your chest with your tea cradled in your hands.
“When do you think you’ll be flying back to Rex?”
Echo sighed, brushing his hand over his face. “I dunno. Depends on my knees.”
“Hmm… is the water helping?” You sipped your tea.
“It is actually.”
He watched as you smiled behind the rim of your mug. “Maybe you should take baths more often.”
“Maybe I will. I must be a bloody hassle to get in and out though.”
“I don’t mind looking after you.”
“I'm well aware of that cyar’ika.”
The water splashed slightly as he lifted himself up to a sitting position. With his missing limbs, he struggled not to slip in the bath, but you’d been a Saint (as usual) and bought bath grips for the bottom of the surface. His thighs leant against them, hand gripping the handle of the wall that you’d had installed. When he was comfortable, he shifted so he could lean his arm over the side of the bath to rest his chin against. His fingers drummed against the porcelain.
Your eyes narrowed as he stared at you. “What?”
“I was thinking we should watch a movie later.”
“Ooh, which one?”
“Well-“
You put your mug down, snapping your fingers excitedly. “Oh, Phee was on about a horror that sounds pretty good. Or maybe we should watch something a bit more chill? Wait no, I’ve got it.”
Echo grinned, “go on.”
“Princess Mononoke. You’ll love it, I know it.”
“Alright, I’m happy with that. Is it on the Holonet?”
“Yeah. I’ll get it uploaded so we can watch it in bed.”
The soldier agreed, his head lolling to the side so his cheek was against his forearm. You’d never seen him so relaxed; it was quite the sight. Time seemed to pass quickly as you drank your tea and chatted with Echo, the pair of you easily slipping into conversation. Once the mug was empty, you put it down and dipped your hands into the water.
“Ooh getting a bit cold. Do you wanna get out soon?”
You watched Echo nod. “Please.”
“Okay,” your hands automatically found the shower gel you kept to the side, and squeezed some into your palms. When you started cleaning Echo’s skin, he began to protest but you interrupted with a tut.
“I want to. You’re supposed to be relaxing.”
“I guess there’s no stopping you then.” He tried not to smile but did anyway, turning around so you could reach his back.
Your hands worked mindfully around his spine, something which Echo had always been grateful for. You never treated him like he was delicate, but you were thoughtful and no longer needed to ask if what you were doing was alright. The micro-expressions Echo struggled to keep to himself always told you the answers you were looking for. As he turned around completely, you leant forward and pressed a kiss to his shoulder. The soldier smiled and tilted his head to the side, soapy hand coming up to tilt your chin so he could kiss you.
“Hmm,” he watched your eyes linger shut for a moment. “Legs?”
“I’ll do them.”
When he had finished cleaning his thighs, you helped him up onto the side of the bath so he could hold the handrail as you drained the water. The stub of his left arm found your side.
“Hey,”
“Hey.”
“Thank you.”
You smiled softly, “always.”
This ficlet was for a collaboration. This was loosely inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean world. My first kick at the can for doing an AU.
Also my OC's debut. I hope you love Arya as much as I love her.

Summary
A quiet night on the Maurader leads to a heartfelt reunion between Echo and a long-lost love.
____________________________________________________________
Despite all the chaos on the Marauder, Echo found solace at night on the deck listening to the rhythmic crashing of waves against the ship. The salty smell of the sea mingled with the humid air, the gentle breeze creating another calming layer to the night. His brothers were at the tavern this evening, their sister Omega sound asleep in the bunks below. The stars twinkled above him. Echo felt his eyes becoming heavy as he began to be pulled into the sound of the waves below.
He heard a voice that immediately pulled him out of the sleepiness, the voice was beautiful, alluring. Echo could recognise the melody from anywhere, it was a song from home when he was younger. He remembers the festivals Coruscant had at night and many of the children in the town trying to sneak out of their homes just to get a listen to the music in the square. He missed the music that the town had, it stopped the day that Arya went missing. Arya?… it couldn't be, he thought.
Her parents were very influential figureheads in the town. The one thing her family was known for was their music and their beautiful daughter. Arya captured the eye and hearts of many people in town, she always turned heads by her ethereal beauty and angelic voice. This included himself. She was only a year his senior. There were rumours in the town of Arya being found as an infant on the beach wrapped in a blanket of seaweed. She was believed to be a siren graced to walk the earth instead of the sea. Her long auburn hair shimmered in the sun, her eyes as blue as the sea she was rumoured to have been born from.
She was not just beautiful, she was someone with an unbelievably kind heart and bright mind. Arya would make visits to the Tapoica home for Orphans to spend time with the children and sing for them. Unfortunately, the older boys in the orphanage did the chores and oftentimes they were still out working while she visited. He remembers as a child catching glances at her, and admiring her from afar.
Echo remembers the first time their eyes met. Arya accidentally bumped into him that day, her basket full of ingredients. He felt his heart skip several beats as their hands brushed as they both knelt down to grab the contents that fell from her basket. She was apologetic, and her eyes soft, as she thanked him for his kindness. Echo found himself becoming lost in her gentle and kind gaze. After that day blossomed a beautiful unlikely friendship between the pair. They would walk side by side and would talk happily amongst themselves sharing a lot of laughs. It was not uncommon in the town for the rules of society to be looser than what they were on the mainland. So their friendship was not of concern to the others in the town, a young man and woman just enjoying the other’s company. They were teenagers at that point.
Echo remembers the last conversation they had together. Her words encouraged him to become a sailor. Her disappearance and the hole she left in his heart made that decision a lot more swift than it should have been. It was easy to admit to himself that he began to have feelings for her, but how could he not?
He remembers that day as if it happened not long ago. She was picking apples for her ailing neighbor. Her soft pink skirt paired with her embroidered corset and bodice she wore made his heart skip several beats. Her long hair flowing in the wind. She was struggling to grab one of the ripe fruits from the tree above her. Echo stood several heads taller than she was. He swiftly picked the fruit and handed it to her. Her gaze met his as she softly smiled placing the fruit in her basket. A soft ‘thank you’ fell from her lips as he feel deeper into her gaze. He was trying to igraine her face into his mind, he could not get over how lucky he was to be so close to her. Arya’s freckles were like if the stars had gently kissed her nose and cheeks, her lips were full and always wore a soft smile. He could not get over her beauty. He didn’t realize how long he had been staring.
“Echo, are you alright?” she asked softly cupping his cheek gently, her eyes beginning to fill with concern.
“Sorry, my mind was elsewhere,” he admitted rubbing the back of his neck embarrassed.
“That is more than okay, we are close to our spot anyways,” she paused, smiling at him. Arya gently grabbed his hand, “you can tell me what is on your mind and we can have a bite to eat,” she offered.
“You know I won’t say no to that,” he said, chuckling to himself. She began to chuckle softly slowly matching his pace as they continued to walk down the path.
She set down a blanket in the grasses at the high point of the island. The salty breeze filling your nose as the sound of the grass swayed in the wind with the gentle rhythmic sound of the waves crashing against the rock below. The scene was truly beautiful. He looked over to Arya, who was completely relaxed with her hand gently on top of his as they ate together. Once the pair finished they often would talk until the sun began to set. As they sat on the blanket, Echo noticed how close to him she was getting
“It is truly beautiful isn’t it?” She murmured, moving to gently rest her head on his shoulder.
“It is very beautiful, but I am afraid to admit my eyes have seen something more beautiful than this Arya,” he whispered, leaning his head on top of hers.
“Really?! What could be more beautiful than this?” She asked a little confused, looking at him smiling gently waiting for his answer.
“I can think of one thing,” he murmured, just right above a whisper. As he tucked a blossom behind her ear. His touch lingered longer than what was acceptable between friends. His fingers settled on her chin. Echo was afraid he was overstepping, but she would say something, right? He had seen her turn down advancements from other men in town. Echo felt himself become very nervous as he felt his heart skip several beats. He began to try to gather the right words to say. His eyes fell to her lips, which were slightly parted. His eyes quickly moved to her gaze. He was locked in her trance.
“What would that be?” She whispered, their noses gently brushing, he did not realize how close they became. His hand cupped her jaw, he felt her breath fan against his lips. His eyes met hers, there was something different about this look in her eyes
“That would be you Arya,” he whispered, her eyes widened at this confession. Echo did not know what came over him as he closed the remaining distance pressing his lips against hers.
He shocked himself with his forwardness, he knew there would only be two ways this could end. The one ending scared him, he didn’t want to lose her. He didn’t want to ruin the best thing to happen in his life.
He started to pull away as an apology began to form on his lips. Something happened that he didn't expect. He felt her lips chase his as she chased his lips. He dreamed about what kissing her would feel like but it was far better than anything he could have imagined. Her lips were soft as they moved carefully against his. She sighed contently as his arm slid around her waist pulling her closer. The kiss was one full of nervousness yet full of love due to the feelings the pair shared for the other. They were smitten with each other.
“Echo?” she murmured against his lips.
“Yes?” he responded, chasing her lips, pressing his lips to hers again.
“There was something on your mind, I can tell,” she murmured, their lips touching still. Neither of them wanted to move away from the other.
“The only thing on my mind is you,” he whispered, pressing his forehead to hers. His gaze was intense on her. There was a look in her eyes that he had never seen before in the three years they had been friends. The look was soft and raw, when he looked into her eyes he felt that same feeling he got when he kissed her moments ago.
He felt her lips again on his, all hesitancy was gone between the pair. Their lips moving in sync with one another. His arms tightly around her waist as her arms found their way around her shoulders. Both drawing breathy sighs from each other. Echo knew he was addicted to her, but her kiss added another layer to this addiction.
They both knew the amount of possible trouble they could get in but neither of them seemed to care. If there was scandal, it would just push what the two of them really wanted deep down sooner. That was to spend the rest of their lives together, married.
He remembers the last moments with her before they went back home the night she disappeared.
The sun began to get lower and lower as the two still talked, Echo’s head found the comfort of her lap as she gently massaged his scalp. He wanted to tell her how much he loved her.
“I am going to sail the world one day, and there is no one else that I want to take with me,” Echo whispered.
“I'd love to travel the world with you too,” she said giggling. She looked up to the horizon to see the sun begin to fall just below the rock formation in their vision. Echo noticed her panic.
“The sun is setting, we should get going back,” she murmured. A pang of disappointment coursed through him. He didn’t want this moment to end.
They both stood up, and before Arya began to walk down the hill, his hand found her waist and pulled her into another kiss. He just could not get enough of her. Little did he know that it would be the last time he kissed her. She broke the kiss as she began to laugh. It was something he did not want to forget. Her laugh was beautiful and perfect.
“We make quite the pair don’t we?” She chuckled, as she placed her head on his chest, as she hugged him tightly.
“That we do,” he whispered gently, kissing her forehead. He looked into her eyes not knowing that it would be the final time. He wanted to hell her how he felt right then and there. He should have told her how he felt.
“I will see you tomorrow,” she whispered.
The last thing he remembers was her skirt and her hair blowing in the wind as she smiled at him one more time. Her figure disappeared into the night. He felt what he wanted to say all this time.
“Arya?” He called. His heart doing somersaults in his chest.
“Yeah?” She yelled back. Her voice was distant.
“I love you,” he yelled into the trees, waiting fiercely in anticipation for her to say it back but she never did. He just thought she was too far for his voice to carry. He would just tell her the next day. He never got that chance.
The next several days were a blur as the news of her disappearance rattled the town to its core. Echo felt his heart shatter into tiny pieces as each day passed with no sign of her. Echo and her family searched for many exhausting days and nights, fishermen went out on their boats to try and find her, but as many of the residents of the island knew that sometimes the ocean called someone home, they weren’t coming back.
Echo could not get over how quickly the island went back to normal after she vanished. He started to spend a lot of the time just walking along the shore hoping to find some sign of her. In that time Echo became very close to the old fisherman on the island. They would sit and enjoy his company, but often the fisherman would share the legends of mermaids.
Echo learned that in these legends often mermaids would leave their young on the shore to be found by humans and walk among humans only for the ocean to call them home under the full moon. The fisherman mentioned the characteristics of a mermaid to Echo and it partly made sense to him. It was a possibility that his dear friend and love of his life could have been a mermaid. There were times he would just sit at the docks just looking out into the ocean.
He remembers the stormy day he went to sit out on the docks but noticed the unmistakable colour of auburn out of the corner of his eye in the water. Echo felt that hope within him burned a little brighter. He didn't think that the old fisherman would mind if he went out like he had done several times before.
Outside the bay of the island, the wake was very dangerous especially in stormy weather. The waves were powerful, enough to capsize a large ship. The trek many sailors had to make to take refuge in the bay was close to the wall of rock, closed in my shallow reefs.
Echo had the sail’s rope in one hand while controlling the rudder with the other as another wave came over the bow of the boat. It was a stupid idea for him to be out in the bay with this kind of weather. Echo knew that it would be a losing battle trying to navigate the waters now. If he capsized it would be disastrous but he didn’t care. He did not have much to live for. Arya was gone, her family turned their backs on him. Maybe death was the easy way for him to be with her again. He just needed to know that she wasn’t out there. He felt the boat begin to tip as it was swallowed by a large wave, taking him under water.
Panic overcame him as he tried to break the surface of the water just be pulled down by the current. The bruning in his lungs became to much to bear as his throat burned as the salty taste of the water overcame his taste buds. He felt his body sink to the bottom. The ocean around him was dark but he saw flecks of gold with an intense shimmer.
He recognized the auburn hair from anywhere. She found him. He reached out to her. The one thing he wasn’t expecting to feel a hand grabbing back. Echo began to panic as instead of seeing legs he saw a long and beautiful tail. Intense bursts of red on the tips of her fins moving into a soft blue and gold. It was beautiful. He felt the mermaid cup his cheek.
“Oh Echo” Arya whispered, cupping his cheek gently.
“You can breathe my love, take a breath,” she whispered, encouraging him to take a breath. He felt a sense of panic wash through him as he began to breathe underwater.
“How is this even possible?” He asked panicked, completely overrun by the fact she is here, alive, but a mermaid.
“We kissed the day I disappeared, remember?” She said blushing remembering back to that day.
“I don’t exactly remember that day, could you maybe jog my memory?” he asked, smirking. She chuckled at the antics she missed so much.
“Of course my love,” Arya whispered against his lips. This feeling was completely foreign to the pair. Arya’s long hair moving so beautifully around the pair. Her long yet powerful tail shimmered in the sun.
Echo felt her lips touch his in a soft and gentle kiss. He couldn’t believe this was happening again, she was alive. Their lips moving in a soft and gentle rhythm. He felt her hand move his arms around her waist as her hands made their way around his shoulders pulling him closer. The feeling of her kiss felt like coming home. He missed her so much, to have the opportunity to hold her in his arms again, in this moment he was the happiest man alive.
She broke the kiss and pressed her forehead to his. Her eyes were gentle, he missed her eyes. She smiled softly, “I love you Echo.”
“I guess the rumours were true then,” he said chuckling. She let out a laugh, he missed the sound of her voice.
“Arya, I have so many questions, What happened?” he asked, feeling himself become very emotional.
“I wish I could answer all of your questions my love. They will all be answered in time. I promise,” she whispered. “I love you so much Echo.”
Echo felt the sun on his face as his eyes snapped open. He doesn’t know how he got onto the beach. He began to cough and sputter trying to regain his breath. He felt something cold between his fingers and when he layed eyes on it, he knew exactly what it was. It was Arya’s silver locket she always had on. The locket weighed heavy in his hands as he opened it to find a drawing of his tucked into it. He felt his eyes water as he started at the locket more and more. All of the hope that once filled his heart became empty with sadness. He knew it was foolish to think that Arya was alive somewhere.
Echo began his walk back to the fisherman’s hut to apologize for ruining his one boat. As he heard a commotion coming from the dock. His feet began to pick up speed as he got closer to the dock. The moment he layed eyes on the fisherman, he knew he was gone. Echo’s eyes welled up with tears as he called for someone to get a doctor, he carried the man back to his home. The fisherman’s weight feeling heavier, he was still warm but there was truly no sign of life left.
It has been four years since that day on the docks. He joined a group of sailors that call themselves the bad batch a few weeks after that incident. He followed his dream of sailing the world but he spent many nights unable to sleep. The boys encouraged him to try and move on but Echo just couldn’t do it.
He feels himself getting closer and closer to the voice. Echo’s eyes fell to a figure sitting at the end of the docks, the voice became more clear than it was before. His heart skipped several beats, it was her voice. He felt the weight of her necklace weigh heavier on his neck. In that moment, Echo couldn’t control the words that fell from his lips.
“Arya? Is that you?” He asked, kicking himself for asking such a thing to a stranger. She has been missing for 4 years.
He watched the figure slowly turn their head as they slowly got up from their spot on the dock. It was a woman based off of the long hair blowing in the wind. The speckles of moonlight being sparse as two ships remained docked there in that moment.
“Echo?” The figure whispered. Echo recognized her voice almost immediately.
She slowly came closer. The light of the moon shone perfectly as it confirmed to him that it was her. The flash of her auburn hair and piercing blue eyes gave it away. Tears began to prick his vision, as his knees buckled, completely overcome with emotion. She is alive. After all this time she is alive.
He watched as she began running towards him. The distance between them diminishing at each step she took. Her skirt moving with each move. Echo finally found the strength to move again. He waited for her with his arms outstretched. A soft chuckle escaped his lips as she jumped into his arms wrapping her arms around his neck. This was really happening. His arms found their spot around her waist, hugging her tightly. Echo let out a relived sob, as she held on to him tighter. He felt her tears touch his skin. They held eachother for what seemed like an eternity but neither of them wanted to let go.
His hands gently cupped her face as he brushed away her tears with his thumbs. He just wanted to take in her beauty in this moment. Echo couldn’t truly believe it. There was one thing he wanted to do more than anything. He didn’t hesitate as he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers.
The feeling of kissing her again was something truly magical. Her lips were as soft as he always remembered them to be. It was a desperate kiss, the kind that says how much they have missed each other, how scared they were of never seeing the other again. It was the first kiss they shared in years, and to him it was the best one yet.
His lips were pressed hard to hers as she returns the pressure and intensity of the kiss. She held him close as his arms slipped around her waist.
Echo pulled away just for a moment as he kissed her again, softer this time. Gentler. It was slow and deliberate as he felt her fingers move to the nape of his neck pulling him closer.
He did not know how long he had been kissing her, or how long she had been kissing him, but it didn’t matter. It was not enough, it could never be enough. He needed more of her. After four years of not having her by his side, he finally had her and he did not want to let go. He wanted to feel every part of her close to him, so close that he could feel her heartbeat.
She sighed contently as the kiss deepend. His hands drifted sliding down the curve of her spine until his hands were pressed to the small of her back pulling her even closer.
He knew if someone caught them it would cause quite the scandal, they were no longer at home. Neither of them seemed to care. Arya finally broke the kiss as she pressed her forehead to his. Echo felt his eyes flutter open after several moments of being a part. He missed her. He openned his eyes to see her, smiling softly at him. Her lips a little kiss swollen but he knew his would be as well.
“Y-You’re as beautiful as the day I lost you,” he whispered looking intensely into her eyes. Echo knew that he never would really belong anywhere but there was a feeling he had whenever he was with her, she felt like home. He watched as tears continued do fall from her cheeks. They stayed there for a while just finding comfort in thne other’s embrace. After four years, they were finally together again.
“Echo,” she whispered. He felt his heart flip as he forgot how good it felt to hear his name fall from her lips. “You are just as handsome as I remember,” she murmured as she pressed her lips to his cheek.
“Why don’t we sit because we have a lot of catching up to do,” she murmured against his shoulder, holding him tightly.
“That we do,” Echo said chuckling as he offered a hand to her. She accepted it as they walked back to the ship together.
The pair sat out on the deck of the ship where they spent hours catching up on everything that happened. Echo came to understand that Arya became enchanted by the moon that night she disappeared, and discovered that she was a mermaid, but she couldn’t return to land. That was until she found her pod, which he learned were a big group of mermaid families together. She met her mother, and father. Along the way she met a friend Neytine, who was enjoying her time at the tavern with one of Echo’s shipmates Crosshair. Arya admitted that she watched him from the sea days after they were looking for her. She wanted to return so badly, but she couldn’t. She also told him of the things she learned while at sea, how she followed the marauder everywhere to make sure he was safe.
“Echo is this her? The girl that you always talk about,” Omega asks. The couple snapped out of their conversation.
“Omega, you are supposed to be asleep,” Echo softly scolded her as he scooped her up in his arms.
“I was but I had a nightmare,” the little girl said sheepishly, looking down at her feet.
“Oh Echo, she is beautiful, when were you going to tell me about her?” Arya said completely taken aback by the little girl. Echo watched as a big smile came over Arya’s lips and her eyes became even brighter.
“What is your name sweetheart,” Arya asked softly, crouching to meet her height as she tucked a strand of hair behind Omega’s ear.
Omega looked up at Echo, searching for any sign of danger. Instead she found a look of pure happiness. Omega has never seen Echo this happy.
“My name is Omega, what is yours? You are very beautiful, you must be the girl he always talks about,” Omega asks as she stepped closer to Arya reaching to touch her hair.
“Is that so?” Arya asks, shooting a glance over to Echo who now stood very rigid. Arya’s smile making his heart race.
“My name is Arya, it is lovely to meet you Omega. Echo and I go way back,” she said smiling at the little girl in her arms.
“You are very pretty,” Omega said smiling.
Arya chuckled as she blushed.
“I am not as pretty as you are Omega,” Arya whispered, beaming at the child in her arms.
“That is not true, you are very beautiful. When I grow up I hope to be as pretty as you are,” she admitted.
Echo watched as the two interected with eachother. Echo couldn’t help but smile watching the love of his life interact with someone he became very protective over. Omega became like a daughter to all of the boys on the Maurauder.
Echo watched as Omega’s curiosity wore her out asking Arya all the questions she could think of. Omega slowly fell asleep on Arya’s shoulder, completely comfortable with her.
Arya was always that way. Echo remembers the day they went to the market and running into a mother who’s baby was fussing. He remembers Arya offering to help, and when Arya began gently rocking the child, she immediately soothed the infant for the mother.
“Where does she normally sleep Echo?” Arya asked snapping him out of his thoughts.
Echo showed her the bunk room as she put Omega back in her bunk, tucking her in. He watched as she kissed her forehead. The pair began to slowly leave Omega’s room.
“Arya?” Omega called quietly.
“Yes?” Arya responded quickly sitting on Omega’s bunk gently brushing some hair out of Omega’s face.
“Can you tell me a story?” she asks, her eyes tired but did not want the night to end with her new friend.
“I can think of one,” Arya responds, smiling softly at Echo.
Arya began to tell the story that Echo immediately recognized as their own. She told the story of a girl and a boy becoming close friends, how they fell in love. Before they could enjoy their life together, the girl was called back home to the sea. How the couple spent an eternity to be reunited again. He listens as she began telling of a romantic reunion between the pair. Arya’s eyes trailed over to Echo who was listening intently to her.
“Arya, is that the end?” Omega asks sleepily.
“Omega, it is only just the beginning of this story. Now, I will hopefully be able to finish this story tomorrow night.” She said winking.
“Goodnight Echo, Goodnight Arya,” Omega murmured.
“Goodnight sweetheart,” Arya whispered as she again pressed a gentle kiss to the childs forehead.
Echo did not understand why all of a sudden he was getting emotional watching as the love of his life interacted with Omega. His thoughts immediately went to the ring he still had in his trunk that he was going to propose with. Was it because he planned to meet with Arya’s father to ask for his blessing for her hand in marriage? Was it because this kind of life with her was something that he would never thought he would get to experience with her? He just knew how happy he was that she was back in his life even if it was not permanent.
The pair walked back out onto the deck as they sat back down side by side.
“What happened that day?” Echo asked nervously. He saw the discomfort rise in her body language as she began to fiddle with the sleeve of her bodice. The large amount of silence filled the deck with the water moving hitting the sides of the ship. Arya looked down to her feet, her eyes began to fill with tears. Echo reached out to hold her hand as they sat down side by side again on the deck.
“I wish I could tell you everything Echo, but I honestly do not fully understand what happened the night I disappeared,” she paused. Looking up at him through her lashes, ashamed.
“The pod calls what happened to me, the call home, basically when a mermaid is on land and has reached her maturity she gets called home to the ocean by the moon,” she said, her hair perfectly blowing in the wind. Echo continued to listen intently, as he reassuringly brushed his thumb over the top of her hand.
“As mermaids, similar to how the moon affects the tides, the moon can affect us as well. During a full moon, young mermaids can be caught in something called the moon spell,” she continued.” I remember returning home and sitting down to talk to my mom about what happened between us, I got a glimpse of the moon through the curtains,” she paused, trying to keep her composure, “and the next thing I know I’m in the water and all of a sudden a tail appears, I sat on the docks until I heard the men going fishing the next morning. The tail didn’t go away,” Arya admits, her voice cracking as tears spilled down her cheeks.
Echo’s heart broke hearing the hurt and pain she held in her voice. Hearing how scared she was, she knew how many people were hurting with her disappearance.
“It’s a full moon tonight, how is not it affecting you?” Echo asked curiously.
“It took a long time and a lot of training under the guidance of the older mermaids in our pod, I can harness the moons power through me, and the best part is. I can go between land and the water whenever I please,” she said smiling, her eyes locked with his.
“I am sorry that I have been gone for so long, I wish I could have returned sooner,” she whispered pressing her forehead to his.
“It’s okay, you’re back now and that is all that matters Arya,” he murmured looking into her eyes lovingly.
“I love you,” Arya whispered smiling against his lips.
“I love you too,” Echo murmured, softly pressing his lips to hers.
After a long-awaited four years, the pair finally reunited. When the batch returned, they finally got to meet the woman that Echo talked about so much. She and her sister Neytine became well-respected members of the crew. All to think that Echo was finally reunited with Arya all because of a familiar melody.

i got very very busy with prepping for an art faire (if anyone knows where to get cheap high quality prints let a mf know PLSSS) and i was muy busy. but we're back. and echo's a sweet dork.
mando'a translations!
ke'pare - wait/hold on
ge'tal - red
vor'e - thanks
udesii - chill out/its okay
gender neutral pronouns, no y/n usage, only main descriptor im sticking to about the reader is that you're ginger. cus i am. sorry nerds.
-immediately follows the events of the preceding chapter-
You were fighting back a smile. You had no idea that some of the clones knew Mando’a, let alone that the Mandolorian-adoptee turned clone-donor Jango Fett was taught during his short time on your home planet. You wondered if it was something the Kaminoans decided or if they all went about teaching themselves in Jango’s honor. The idea of a bunch of clone soldiers sitting around a Mando’a children’s dictionary makes the smile stitching onto your face that much harder to fight.
“I’m sorry about Tech. He can be, ah, a lot.” Echo grimaced while swiveling around the copilot’s seat, presenting it to you.
You obliged, and sat down. “Oh he’s fine. There’s plenty of topics I could infodump about, just as annoyingly. I just have a bad habit of my thoughts becoming verbal.” You shook your head, soft auburn tresses flicking about. The lights from the cockpit glinted around the natural highlights of your hair, and it didn’t escape Echo’s gaze.
The man cleared his throat. “Still, I appreciate you being so accommodating of my brothers. Nat-borns don’t seem to get it, you know?”
You furrowed your brow and cocked your head slightly to the left, looking him in the eyes. While he didn’t physically shudder, you could see the slight panic pulse in his iris when you met his gaze.
“Where do you think clones get their camaraderie and brotherhood from?”
Echo shrugged. “Kaminoans, I presume?”
You barked a laugh. “Well, yes. Ke’pare, what did they tell you guys about Mandalore?”
“Not much. Jango was around for the first few years, but I rarely saw him. He didn’t seem to hold much emotion for the regs. He seemed to like the higher ups, but I didn’t become an ARC Trooper until I was shipped off that wet rock.” Echo finally slumped into his chair opposing you. As he spoke, he slowly relaxed into his seat, his hinges quietly scraping together as he moved. Once again his amber eyes met yours, a new twinkle seeming to arrive.
“You know more than you let on, ge’tal.” Echo said, narrowing his gaze.
He seemed to be sizing you up. Trying to parse out his next line of questioning. Truthfully, you were better at it than him. While his observation skills have been battle-tested, the ease in which you peppered questions at him showed years of practice he was simply unable to acquire. Outside of the occasional conversation at 79’s or a senator he was required to escort, Echo’s entire social sphere only extends to his brothers. You made him nervous. In a very good way.
You blushed at the newly acquired nickname. “I prefer to call it ‘not showing my full hand’, but I’ll slide a few cards your way since you seem cute.”
The back of Echo’s neck started to bloom a soft red. He rubbed a palm on his knee, mindlessly self soothing. “Seem? What, the gray skin and hollow cheeks not working their magic?” He joked, gesturing to each feature respectively with a pointed index finger.
“You seem to deflect compliments because you can’t believe them, so I was starting small.” You extended your own index finger and poked at his shoulder, annunciating the seem.
The now-scarlet tint of Echo’s neck began to creep towards his face. Eyes darting towards the floor, he opened his mouth to speak, but closed it. He pressed his lips together for a moment. The only thing he got out was a weak “Vor’e.”
“Udesii. I came here, didn’t I?” Your face softened. Echo’s almost immediate vulnerability around you made your knees feel like jelly, and you were sending a silent prayer somewhere that you were both sitting down. “You’re not gonna scare me off, but you can’t immediately go cracking jokes just ‘cus I said you’re handsome.” You continued. Soft, yet firm. You weren’t allowing Echo to talk poorly of himself, even in jest.
Echo nodded, meeting your gaze once more. He looked off for a moment, seemingly in thought, before returning your gaze and asking softly: “How do you always know what to say?”
You let out one quick heh. “Since I found someone to give the words to.” You reply cheekily.
Echo smiled once more and dipped his head. “Walked into that one huh?”
You both smiled, and a comfortable silence began to envelope the two of you. Both of you were looking out on the horizon. The sky was a deep pink and purple haze, stippled with the indigo hues of the impending twilight. Echo was scanning the distance, as if anything alive would be out there, let alone a threat. You were content watching the 2 ½ clouds in the sky move millimeters at a time, but something told you to look at your companion. Gazing at him, your eyes slowly roved up his face. His jaw was set in a defined line, lightly gritted in concentration. His cheeks were hollow, but his cheekbones sat quite prominently, catching the light. This, juxtaposed with his deep set eyes, allowed the light to dance right at the forefront of his face. As if a candle was eye level with him, across the room.
“See anything cool?” You finally speak, hoping Echo didn’t catch you staring.
“Nah, perimeter check. I’m sure all I’ll see is bones and dirt but, old habits die hard.” He replied, not looking away. After a beat, he nodded, and seemingly relaxed the scrutinous gaze he had moments ago.
“Huh. So, what makes your squad different from the other clones, other than haircuts, tattoos, and builds?” You change the subject.
“Being experimental meant the Kaminoans could enhance certain characteristics. Wrecker’s strength, Tech’s smarts, Crosshair’s accuracy, and Hunter’s senses.” Echo spun his chair to face you and threw one leg over the other.
“Huh.” You think for a moment before replying. “So you think Hunter heard us approach?”
Echo nodded. “And I’m willing to bet he’s going to call me a serf for the next 3 rotations.”
You barked out a laugh before realizing his implication. A hand shot over your mouth and your eyes grew wide.
The man laughed. “Just be glad he’s not close enough to hear your heartbeat.”
“What CAN’T he hear?” You said, mildly exasperated. “How do you get any privacy?”
“He’s got noise canceling headphones but that’s mainly for his own sanity. Wrecker got them for him after his snoring kept him up for 3 days in a row.” You laughed at that, and Echo felt a twinge of pride before continuing. “He showed up in the cockpit one morning with his bandana over his nose and Omega had to ask him about his new fashion choices.”
You let out a series of giggles at that, holding your stomach slightly as you lean forward into it. If your eyes weren’t scrunched shut, you would’ve seen Echo’s face bloom in 4 different shades of pink. Every single part of him was committing this to memory. The way your eyes crinkled at the sides. The way your cheeks almost wanted to push your eyes out of their sockets. He never wanted this to end, the sounds of your joy echoing across the hold of the Marauder.
——————
Hours had passed, the sun well below the horizon by this hour. The sky was peppered with numerous constellations and star systems, the names of which always seeming to escape you. The deep blue sea of sky felt more vast than ever in your little perch aboard the Marauder.
You and Echo went back and forth, sharing tidbits from your respective lives up until this point. You learned about the Rishi Moon incident that gave Echo his ARC status, he learned about the Siege that gave way to your arrival here. He told you about the Domino Squad, you told him about your own clan’s untimely demise. Hours of stories shared back and forth, as if you were both once stationed on the same battlefield and then whisked away, only to be brought back together once more after all these years. But there was no mutual history to draw upon this familiarity from. The two of you just fell into a steady rhythm. One that you’d individually practiced and honed for years, like a song that was never intended for a duet, only for the two to sound identical.
“...And that’s where I learned Keldabe Handshakes are applicable as a neutralizing tactic across species.” You finished, explaining the first and only time a Shriek-Hawk has successfully taken you off guard.
“Charming.” A voice hissed, and then a pair of boots dropped to the ground with a soft thunk. “Echo, shouldn't you be putting your toys away? It’s late.” Crosshair slunked into the cockpit, seemingly from the shadows. You scoffed and rolled your eyes. “I must be a pretty expensive toy to trade for speeder brakes.”
“I can’t say I’m surprised you’ve never been with someone and lost track of time, Cross. That does tend to require social skills and, y’know, liking people?” Echo crossed his arms and stared his brother down.
“Well unless they’re taking your bunk, you should tell Tech someone’s joining him in the cockpit tonight. It’s too late to take them back now.” Crosshair seemed to spit the last part of the sentence, annoyed that someone else is in his space and bothering his brothers. While you understood hesitancy, you felt as if he reveled in his current position rather than proceeding with caution.
Echo turned to you and looked into your eyes softly. “It’s up to you.”
“I’m already cramping an already small ship. I can kick it up here with Tech for the night.” You said, smiling. While you very badly wanted to just crawl into Echo’s bunk with him, you weren’t doing that the first day. Plus, you don’t know how Echo feels about his personal space, or his sleeping positions, or if he prefers one side of the b—
“How touching.” Crosshair cut off your thoughts with the remark. He spun on his heel, and disappeared just as quickly as he appeared. Echo sneered at the doorway.
“Are you sure? I don’t mind sleeping up here. Like I said, Tech can be a lot sometimes.” Echo looked back at you, eyes full of worry.
“Tell you what, I’ll come get you if he’s being too much and we can switch, okay?” You compromise, getting the understanding that Echo’s going to worry either way.
“Deal.” Echo said firmly with a nod, and stands up. “For as much of a dick as he is, Crosshair’s right, it is rather late.” You nod and shrug slightly in agreement.
Echo turns to you and leans down. “Try and get some rest.” He gives you a quick peck on the cheek before turning on his heel and borderline speeding out of the room.
When the door shuts automatically, you ghost your hand along your cheek, and an uncontrollable smile breaks across your face.
I think he likes me.

The sun had begun to slump lazily in the sky. Outcroppings of clouds blotted around it, allowing the rays to gleam down rather than the barrage of heat from early this morning. Hues of bronze and amber were slathered across the atmosphere, partly due to the dust in the air. Here past the city limits, one became acutely aware of the planet’s true climate. Roves of sand and limestone were all the eye would be met with for miles. Large, twisted succulents shot randomly out of the ground, their insides bitter and viscous with water from a long many cycles ago. The stubborn fauna was a mirror image of the people that inhabited this planet. Fierce and unyielding, hoarding what little resources are to be found, if only to assure survival for longer than tonight.
While the sun had dipped in severity, your emotions seemed to not get the memo. In fact, your heart was rattling your ribcage and wracking your nervous system. In a matter of hours you had your first customers in days, albeit shallow pocketed, and instead of doing the proper salesperson-like thing and talking Echo down to another product, you ran his pockets and asked him out.
And he said yes.
Well, not in those words. But it wasn’t a No. Or a Sure, why not. And that’s more than enough for you.
Unbeknownst to you, Echo was relying on the speeder handlebars in front of him to maintain his grip on reality.
Echo tried not to get his hopes up whenever he noticed wandering eyes on him in the past. He’d said it jokingly, but he wasn’t kidding when he’d said he was just happy you weren’t looking at him in disgust.
Or worse, someone to pity.
You hadn’t given him the sad eyes when you noticed his metal arm and scomp. You hadn’t given him the sad eyes when you noticed his gait on the way to the counter. Hell, you didn’t even make mention of the piece wrapping around his skull. He didn’t even have to ask.
And now you were wrapped around his back, pushing your weight into him as he ripped across the wastes. Your arms were slinked around his core, hands folded and your pinky ghosting across the tip of his navel. While Echo’s own hands on the speeder was his current tether to reality, the warmth of your hands was equally coaxing him back out. Coaxing him backwards to rest his shoulder blades on your chest, coaxing him to let go of the handlebars, coaxing him to close his eyes, savor the moment. But he doesn’t. The same steadfast, battle-tested resolve that made him an ARC Trooper, all of that resolve, is being called upon at this moment.
Echo flicked the gear shift forward and pressed his foot down evenly, eyes honing in on the gray dot of the Marauder coming into view on the horizon. You gripped tighter with the increase in speed, and Echo’s cheeks got warm. Omega tailed closely behind.
Earlier, before the three of you had broken the city limits, Echo gave you the rundown of his ragtag family.
Tech. Wrecker. Hunter. Crosshair.
You mentally listed the members of the Batch, trying your absolute best to commit them to memory. It’ll be a lot easier once you actually see them, trust me. Echo’s words rang through your head, a metaphysical balm to your mild-yet-steadfastly brewing social anxieties.
A loud, metallic groan roused you from your thoughts. The ramp of the Marauder began to descend, and an overwhelmingly large figure appeared at the lip of the ramp.
“9-1 odds, that's Wrecker?” You call out loudly, desperate to be heard over the speeder engine. Before Echo could respond, a surly, thickly accented voice cut through the air.
“What stray did you bring in from the rain this time, eh Echo?!”
“You would be correct.” Echo glances over his shoulder at you, before turning back and calling out to his brother. “Adoption is Hunter’s speciality. Is your chip acting up again?” Wrecker answered with a barking laugh, walking off the ramp that is now level with the planet’s surface.
Echo brought the bike to a rolling stop, the engine softly tut-tut-ing before being kicked off. Omega came up beside the two of you, parking respectively. Echo stepped off the bike and stuck his hand out for you, while Wrecker came over and swooped Omega off the bike and onto his shoulders. You coyly took his hand. “Still keeping up this smooth charade?” You chide, throwing your leg over the bike and pulling yourself up with his assistance.
“Charade? Now that’s just rude.” Echo stuck his nose up, fake indignantly.
You grin, leaning into the bit. “Oh my, how may I make up for this transgression Milord?”
Wrecker and Omega watched on with shit eating grins. Neither of them were going to be the ones to break the moment, nor were they going to be the ones to tell either of you about the matching blush the two of you were wearing.
“I’m sure I’ll find a remedy in time, fret not serf.” Echo smiled as he stuck his elbow out for you to take.
“Serf? I’ll have you know my father was a knight!” It was your turn to act fake indignant, huffing and whipping your head away from Echo. Both of you erupted into laughter at the shared moment, closing in on the ramp.
Unbeknownst to you, Hunter was in the hallway, up the ramp and around the corner, a soft smile stitching its way onto his face. He, like Wrecker and Omega, was deeply enthused about his brother’s stroke of luck with you. Hunter had heard the two of you before you’d arrived, his acute senses hearing the rumblings a few klicks away.
Hunter decided to make his presence known, slipping out of the shadows and into the main doorway.
“What’s this about me adopting someone else?” Hunter says, eyes casually shifting about the group, seeming to do a mental headcount.
“Well I’m terrible with a blaster, but I can sell exhaust pipes something fierce!” You reply sarcastically, and you offer your name and a handshake. Instead, the clone claps your forearm and shakes it once. You follow the motion, entirely through muscle memory, clapping his forearm with similar force. A soft smile sits on your face at the gesture, it was something you hadn’t done in a few cycles at this point.
“Hunter, though I’m sure Echo’s filled you in already.” He offers a pleasant smile, now more curious about the stranger aboard his ship.
“He’s only given me names.” You shrug. “But, I’ve run into two of you now, and it’s a 50/50 on whether or not your moniker’s obscenely obvious. So I think I’ll be okay.” You finish the statement with a soft, mildly forced laugh, hoping to make it as obvious as possible that you’re joking.
I just made sure Echo can kinda stand my presence, I can’t have his brother be the hard sell now.
Hunter nods and closes his eyes with a soft chuckle. “You got nothing to worry about, kid. None of us bite.”
“Except maybe Crosshair.” Three separate voices say at the same time.
Laughter erupts from the hallway and cockpit. From the gunner’s nest, a hissing grimace. Hunter beckoned Wrecker and Omega into the cockpit, nodding to you and Echo as he went. The aforementioned biter slunk his way down the ladder and towards the cockpit, casting nary a glance to the new person aboard the Marauder. A toothpick flew from in front of him, twirling in the air nonchalantly before sticking upright in a crack between the durasteel paneling of the floor. Your eyes honed in on it.
“He won’t actually bite you, but good luck getting more than three words that aren’t snarky outta the vod.” Echo spoke quietly and clasped a hand between your shoulder blades, noting your gaze. “I wouldn’t let him.” He said even quieter, barely above a hum.
You let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding. Once again, Echo’s simple words are a balm for mental wounds he did not cause, and completely unintentionally. You relax your shoulders, and pull them in a circle.
“So, Tech’s left, right?”
Echo nodded, and gestured with his scomp for you to lead the way. You obliged, and went up the stairs. Through a small hallway filled with a myriad of colors and buttons, you led the two of you into the cockpit.
A somewhat larger space opened up, with similar durasteel walls peppered with buttons and lights. However bulletproof panes of glass took up a majority of the wall space, looking out at the expanse of the wastes. It made the desert look even more swallowing, seeing it from a slight elevation. Nothing else for miles and miles had the view you did right now. Something about Desert Fever slung its way through your brain, some whispers you had barely overheard from stallworkers about afflicted moisture farmers on the outskirts.
“Also colloquially known as desert mania, desert fever is usually characterized with bouts of irrational behaviors and depressive episodes, as a result of the absolute nothing around you. Some hypothesize it to be an amalgamation of chronic understimulation.” A tall clone materialized next to you from the pilot’s chair.
“That was supposed to be internal, my bad. I take it you’re Tech?” You say sheepishly, rubbing a hand on your neck as you extend the other, introducing yourself.
“You are correct. Pleasure.” He replies, holding his hand up softly as to say None for me, thanks in response to your hand out. You quickly pulled it back to your side, eyes flicking to Echo behind you for mild reassurance.
Getting the message, he cleared his throat. “Where’s everyone finding themselves tonight?”
“Hunter’s busying himself inventorying the supplies brought in, Crosshair is brooding on top of the ship, and Wrecker and Omega are outside testing her ability to detonate multiple delayed explosions.” Tech replied curtly, understanding Echo’s meaning instantly. “I will retire to the bunks if you need me. I have my holopad and charger. Kandosii, vod’ika.”
Echo’s fingers twitched at his thigh again as color shot up from his collar. “Thank you Tech!” He said, very abruptly. He politely spun you around and began to push you towards the copilot’s seat.
A part of Echo prayed you weren’t paying attention to Tech all that much.
A bigger part of him knew you understood every word thrown about.

The sun shone fiercely over the city, baking the industrial landscape in amber and gold. It was the closest that the durasteel and brick would ever get to being a part of nature, and in a way, the old buildings seemed thankful. Thankful to be unmoving against the planet’s own turmoil. To stand straight, stiff, and unforgiving against the gales that whipped through the streets like wind tunnels.
You very much wish you could be a building right now.
Contrasting to your surroundings, you were very much bothered by the sun in your eyes and wind in your hair. You squinted and kept a hand over your eyes as you puttered through the streets, gauging movement and distance by the tiled stonework on the ground. Your hair whipped at the corners of your face, always just out of reach when you went to swipe them away, giving way to a mood that the sun beating down on your neck was not helping.
Just a few more paces, a lock, and an alarm. You thought to yourself, mentally calibrating for the tasks following.
You were opening your store. At least, that’s what you’d tell anyone if they bothered asking. In reality, you were opening a store you were hired to manage. You were hired as a friendly, trustworthy face that was more or less just responsible for making sure nothing got stolen. The real owner, on the other hand, rarely could bother to make an appearance. So, by all customer accounts, it’s your store. The thought of this brought warmth to your chest.
Pride, albeit in fake ownership, but pride in your work nonetheless.
You found yourself at the front of the store. Large, ornate marble slabs stacked up to the door. Marble steps that were once a hallmark of the city, that dotted every home, now lay cracked, chipped, and closer to oyster gray than marble white.
You trudged to the front glass door. Opening it with a whine, the door found purchase on your hip as you flipped the plastic door sign to “Open”. You glance over at the keypad, and punch in your door code - 0501.
Immediately upon stepping into the small, darkened room, you’re greeted with shrill chirps. The piercing tones shot through the still air and bounced off the walls.
“Yeah yeah, I know, I’m coming.” You gripe, talking to the ancient security system that by no means would actually respond. You walk towards the corner of the small shop, eyeing a white panel with a dimly lit green screen. You grimace as you punch in your security code, trying not to become overstimulated by the alarm.
“Disarmed. Ready to arm.” A feminine robotic voice declares, and you hum in content as you turn around and begin to open up your store.
Flip those lights, plug that in, unlock the window guard, count the cash.
The mental list flashed through your mind, though it was almost immediately pushed out by a myriad of other thoughts. Your mind was abuzz, just like any other day. You glanced around at the small, cramped storefront. Your eyes raked the shelves, not looking for anything in particular, simply cataloging with your eyes. Your store sold mainly spaceship parts, among other things; though judging by the dust collecting on the deflector shield projectors, you’d almost be led to believe that no one on the planet had even scraped the sky.
You rounded a counter to make way to the register. The counter was an upside down L-shape, clear glass panes encasing a durasteel frame with sliding doors on the seller side. A smaller, similar-yet-straight case sat parallel on the right, making a perfect little square entrance for you to swing around. Such large display pieces seemed comically out of place in the small store front, as they essentially divided the room in half. Inside, the three rows that spanned the length of each side of the L were cluttered. Cluttered with trinkets that toppled over one another, as well as a handful of dubiously legal recreational products and their respective accessories. Those, along with the cigarettes in cartons behind you, were probably the only reason the lights above you were even on, albeit flickering occasionally and making a rather unfortunate buzz. You shook your head, and unlocked the small, dingy cash register in front of you.
Methodically counting cash, your eyes wandered to the bay window at the front of the store. Outside of it laid sun-bleached stone streets, with few inhabitants venturing out this early in the morning. Those that did, moved sluggishly from the heat or in a feeble attempt to resist it. Most of them looked familiar, usually having come in and bought something in the past. Or the odd few who follow a stricter morning routine than you do, seeing them stroll by every morning since you’d arrived however many cycles ago.
Same old, same old, huh? You thought to yourself. Monotony creeps up on the best of us, I suppose. You silently laugh to yourself, a quick huff of air leaving your nose.
As if the universe was listening in on your internal monologue, a speeder comes careening down the block, the engine body screaming as the bike chewed through the brake disks like meringue. Atop this banshee was a young girl, cream blonde hair whipping behind her as she screamed with delight. You had hoped it was delight at least, though you’d never heard someone giggling with fear. Immediately following her was another speeder, albeit in much less disarray and in much more control. The pilot was a tall, slender, pale man with some form of plating on his head, covering his ears.
“Omega, you HAVE to brake before you turn, you can’t just hit every corner like Tech does!” The man called out, though it was muffled from the glass.
You placed the cash back in the register and paced towards the door. Curiosity was your main driving factor, although if something happened to a child and you didn’t do anything… Well, you were sure your brain wouldn’t let you live it down.
You cracked the large door and peered out through the smaller glass door in front of it. You breathed out in relief, not realizing you were holding it in, as you saw the girl almost entirely unharmed.
“Echo, I’m fine! Plus, you said it yourself before we grabbed them that they looked like ‘hunks of junk’.” The girl made air quotes at her companion to emphasize her point. He, presumably named Echo, sighs in response, barely audible through the door but recognizable by the way his shoulders slumped. You couldn’t see it, as his back was to you, but the clone took his one hand to pinch the bridge of his nose.
Wait, one hand?
You had seen your fair share of clones, both on your home planet and where you now found yourself. However, with his back to you, and with your eyes zeroing in on his scomp, you were none the wiser of the man outside your shop’s origins, other than his name probably being Echo.
The girl, which you assumed was named Omega, noticed you standing in your doorway.
“Maybe we can ask them for help” She spoke aloud, looking past her companion to look directly at you. You respond in part by opening the door and poking your head out.
“So, you crash in front of stores often?” You call out to the girl, smiling softly. Her companion turns around at the sound of your voice.
Hello there.
The man, now recognizable to you as a clone, was much more muscular than you had anticipated. With broad shoulders causing his pauldrons to peek out just a hair more. His hair was a buzz cut, the deep blue-black hue of his just-barely-there hair contrasting against his pale skin.
He waved his hand at you.
“I’m trying to not let her make it a habit but someone was recently taught what drifting was. Do you happen to sell speeder parts?” He punctuated his statement with a playful jab to the girl’s ribs, which elicited a giggle.
“As long as you don’t mind wiping dust off of them, I’m sure I can find something for y’all.” You replied, and you stepped out on the porch to open the door and let the two in. They quickly followed suit and headed towards you.
“I’m Omega by the way, and this is my big brother Echo.” The girl chirped as she walked by.
You smiled and gave your name in response. “Pleasure, it’s been a while since I’ve had real customers”.
“What’s a real customer?” She said, spinning around to look back at you once she filed into the small room.
“Someone actually buying parts, instead of what’s in the case.” You reply, as you turn your back and begin parsing the shelves for speeder brake parts. Immediately you regret this decision.
“What’s in the case?” Omega piped, and before you can turn around her face is pressed to the glass, memorizing its contents.
“Oh!—Uh, adult stuff, Omega. You really shouldn’t worry about it.” You said sheepishly, and you began to walk over to try and find something else for her to look at, but before you could Echo interjects.
“They’re right Omega, you have no business with this kind of stuff. Let’s just focus on the parts we need so we can get back to the ship before too long” He says, before clasping her on the back. She huffs, but obliges and stands up.
“So I have the parts you’re looking for, however the brakes come as a complete set. So you may end up with extras if you didn’t break the entire thing.” You explain, and waggle a box in the air.
“Judging by the sound when we came in, I’d imagine we’ll probably use the whole kit. I hope we don’t scare off too much foot traffic with the repairs.” Echo quipped, accompanied by a soft smile. If you didn’t know any better, you would’ve thought the man was flirting with you.
“Foot traffic?” You fake gawk. “Ain’t from ‘round here huh?”
Echo chuckles, and his eyes shone a little bit lighter. The bright honey-brown was rather stark against his skin, making it even more difficult not to get lost in them. The normally-dull blue hue of the overhead plasma lights made them pop out a bit more now that you were inside.
“Well, in any case, we’ll be out front for a bit. Appreciate the help.” Echo nodded and began to take his leave with Omega in tow.
“Last I checked the sign out front didn’t say charity.” You spoke, holding back a laugh with your teeth on your bottom lip.
Echo stopped dead in his tracks, and paused for a moment to reflect on what you meant. He sighed when it finally dawned on him.
“My apologies. Omega, take this out front and start taking the speeder apart while I pay for this.” He handed the box to the girl, and she skipped out the door.
Echo walked up to the counter, albeit awkwardly. Like his hips were too heavy. That’s when you noticed his legs. Or rather lack thereof.
“The heat and humidity makes my joints lock up sometimes.” He stated, noting your staring. Your eyes went wide.
“I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to stare. I had only noticed your scomp earlier when we were outside.” You said quickly, trying to alleviate any awkwardness. You had just met the man, you weren’t trying to immediately make a handsome stranger hate you.
“It’s nothing new for me, though I did appreciate the lack of disgust in your face” He joked, self-deprecatingly.
Your eyebrows shot up, a mixture of quizzical and confused. “Everyone in the galaxy has or knows someone with augmentation at this point. What makes yours so gross?” You replied, emphasizing ‘gross’ with a sarcastic voice.
The man shrugged. “Most clones don’t look like me.”
You nodded. “Not exactly a GAR approved clone preset, I gather?”
“Sort of, I guess? I got placed with an experimental clone unit during the war, seeing as how I didn't fit in with the regs anymore.” He responded, now talking with his hands and relaxing his posture. You typed in the total for the engine kit into the register.
“Regs?” You ask, not looking up, but still very much invested in the conversation.
“Regular clones. The ‘approved presets’ as you called them. My unit is nothing of the sort, so I saddled up with them.” He replied with ease, while fishing into one of his waist bags for his credit pouch.
“I see. Well, your total’s gonna be 635 credits.” You chirp, looking up at Echo’s face, only to watch it drop.
“Six thirty five?” He half whispered, somehow going a shade paler. He had about 350 credits left in his pouch after the sorely needed supply run. However, if he couldn't fix the speeder, it wouldn’t matter.
Sensing his trepidation, and also using the moment to steal a few glances at how his biceps push against his armor with his arms crossed, you got an idea.
“Tell you what. Give me what you got, and I’ll smooth over the rest if you take me to dinner” You said in a joking tone, testing the waters.
Echo’s ears tinged pink and his cheeks warmed up at the thought. He pretended not to notice the way you sized him up when you met a few moments ago, but something about your attention on him at that moment made his stomach trip over itself. That feeling piqued his curiosity, but his response was laced with trepidation.
“I honestly don’t even know where we’d go. I’ve never been planetside here, and I’m sure you don’t want to eat the ration bars let alone smell what’s on the ship”
You shrugged. “Beats the stale air here. Plus for as many parts as I carry, I’ve never actually been on a ship.” You felt rather sheepish at your white lie, your eyes scanning the floor.
“The Marauder it is. What time were you thinking?” Echo asked. You couldn’t see it, but his fingers were twitching against his thigh, and the back of his neck was bright red. He hadn’t been on a date since he was still with the 501st, and even then it was usually a random one-off with someone he met at 79’s. By then the alcohol would be long gone and he would realize he’d spent the previous night with someone with bantha-shit for brains.
“Honestly? I could help you with repairs and we could head out. Not like I’d be missing out on any money.” You reply coolly, trying your best to have a ‘we can do whatever’ attitude as you leaned your weight onto one hip and cocked your head.
Inside, you were having ironically the same conundrum as Echo. You hadn’t been on a date in Force knows how long, your work clothes weren’t exactly date material, and holy kriff how did that actually work? You said it on a whim, ready to laugh it off to him and sob into your pillow about it later. Your brain had finally caught up to what you were up to, who you were now going on a date with, what you were doing, how you got there, and how his kid little sister wrecking outside your store was the best thing that could’ve happened.
“Are you gonna help me put this bike back together or are you two gonna flirt all day?!” A shrill voice called from outside.
Right, Omega, kriff.
Both you and Echo flinch and sigh at the sound of her voice. The temperature in the room also seemed to rise a few degrees, even if only for the two of you. You sigh, grabbing the credits Echo left on the counter and lock up the register. You make your way around the counter, and join him as he makes his way towards the door.
Once again faced with his back, your eyes wander down to where his hips meet his metal lower half. Somehow, his blacks tuck neatly into them, or maybe they’re clipped somewhere, you don’t know. You stifle a small laugh at the thought.
As you make your way outside, the thought crosses your mind of Echo’s legs having built in shirt fasteners. Then, before you can stop yourself, you let out a giggle at the thought of Echo having garters for his blacks underneath the armor and over his robotic legs.
Echo turns around at the sound. His eyebrow is raised quizzically, but his eyes betray him. He looks a little sad, worried that you’re laughing at him or Omega or their situation.
Noticing his composure change, you are now forced to have your queries answered.
“How do your blacks stay on if you don’t have them on your lower half? I thought it was like a jumpsuit?”
Echo was bewildered at the question. He cocked his head, and then settled on a response.
“They just .. fit? Like the shirt sits where it’s, supposed to? And it doesn’t move.” He shrugged, never having put much thought into it. “What about that made you laugh?”
“I imagined you having little garters or fasteners on the legs underneath.” You quietly replied, looking at the ground, mildly embarrassed.
Now it was Echo’s turn to laugh. His nose crinkled and he squeezed his eyes shut, and you made a mental note of the sound that came out of the sweet man’s mouth.
“Very funny. Echo can you please put this brake back on?” Omega piped up, exasperated. She loved her brother dearly and was very amused to see him interacting with you in such a manner, however she didn’t anticipate this would require her soloing her speeder rebuild.
“Sorry kiddo, I got you.” Echo crouched down and rested his hands on his knees, surveying what work Omega had done in his leave. She had actually finished about ¾ of the work, and Echo made a mental note to thank Tech profusely for his tutelage when they got back to the ship.
While he made quick work of what was left of the speeder, Omega busied herself with getting to know you. She plopped herself on your front stoop, and materialized some Mantell Mix from inside her jacket pocket. She threw a handful in her mouth, but before proceeding to chew she primed you with one of soon to be dozens of questions.
“Why’d you set up shop here?”
You frowned slightly, as there was no fun answer to this question. The Siege drove everyone off of Mandalore, if they survived. This planet just happened to be in the same section of The Rim and was taking refugees. Setting up a shop was never in the cards on your home world, but despite your utter lack of knowledge of retail, you relished the opportunity to do something different. Start completely anew. Though a part of you balked at sharing your past, this young girl seemed wiser than she let on and you enjoyed actually talking to someone outside of the usual “How are you” “Good, thanks” “Your total’s 45 credits” “Have a good day”. So, against your better judgment, you indulged her.
“Well, Mandalore doesn’t really exist, at least in its full capacity,” You sucked in your teeth. “And I didn’t trust that old Coruscanti freighter to leave the star system. Plus, the owner of the place doesn't like people too much and would rather just collect a paycheck.” You shrugged.
Upon mention of Mandalore, a thunk came from the speeder. Not loud enough to draw your attention over, thank Force, but enough to be heard. It was Echo dropping a tool. While Kamino wasn’t as much of a home to him as he imagined you would regard Mandalore, it was a similar weighty feeling. If all else failed, there was nowhere for either of you to go. There was no home. Sure, The Marauder and your little studio apartment were where the two of you resided, but that’s not where you’re from. Plus, it’s kind of difficult to compare a ship and a box room barely bigger than the storefront to an entire planet.
“This isn’t your store?” Omega replied, sensing it easier to focus on the latter half of your statement. You shook your head.
“For all intents and purposes, it’s mine. I run the day to day, order the products, harass people to actually get it delivered, everyone knows it’s me who runs it. But I don’t own it, no.”
Omega nodded in understanding, and was immediately buried in thought. Her dark brows knitted together as her brain formulated questions faster than she could ask. She nodded once more, seeming to have landed on a fitting one. But before she could ask, Echo piped up.
“The brakes are fixed up. We should be able to head back to the ship” Echo began to get up, but before he turned around he shot a question that you were dreading. Well, more of a statement.
“I thought you said you’ve never been on a ship?”
You gawked at him and then trained your eyes to the ground, suddenly very interested in the species of weeds that had taken hold in the cracks of the ground. You didn’t have any good excuses, and you’d already been caught in one lie.
“Got you to say ‘yes’ to the date, didn’t it?” You muttered weakly, knowing that this could very well end in him cursing you out and leaving you to your lonely little shop.
Echo sighed. He didn’t like lying, but the reason for it warmed his cheeks. He realized you just wanted an ‘in’. To hang out with him, of all people. He wasn’t used to someone, anyone, making that kind of effort to spend time with him.
“It did, though I’d have probably said yes otherwise.” It was his turn to reply coolly and pretend that his heart’s not in his throat for even uttering the words. He coughs in a feeble attempt to clear it. “Either way, are you two ready?”
You nodded and looked at Omega, who responded by excitedly getting up and hopping on her speeder. Echo walked a few feet, and grabbed his own by the handlebars. Before you could ask who you were riding with, he re-parked the bike in front of where you were standing so you could easily step off of the curb and onto the back.
“When’d you get smooth?” You chide, grabbing Echo’s shoulder for leverage as you kicked your leg over the side. Your feet found purchase above the altitude controls, gripping the cargo compartment with your legs to maintain balance. You brought your hands down and let them rest in your lap as Echo kicked over the ignition.
“Since I found a reason to be smooth.”
I miss your amazing works on the Bad Batch being panty snatchers - any updated headcannons/shenanigans around this?
aaah, I haven't updated that trope/series in so long!!! Here's a few NSFW headcanons based on the Batch stealing yo panties.
I'm writing this with the idea that you, the reader, have no idea what's going on, but you're more than welcome to interpret it the opposite way!
Fem reader.
Hunter always feels guilty whenever he steals your panties. He's desperate for that extra material when he masturbates, but oh lord, the post-nut guilt hits him hard. He'll hand-wash your panties before machine washing them, ensuring that they're extra clean. And Maker forbid that a single drop of his cum ever reaches them, else he'll burn your panties and sneakily buy you a new pair.
Echo, similar to Hunter, always feels guilty about stealing your panties. He doesn't get many moments alone, let alone to masturbate, so when he does jerk off, he likes to take his time, and go all out. So, if that means acquiring a pair of your panties to sniff, then fine, he'll do it, for his own pleasure! It's a little selfish, but he always puts them in the wash the second that he's done with them.
Wrecker is often clumsy, but when it comes to committing such a sinful act, he's extra careful. Wrecker won't risk stealing your panties when you're also on the ship, just to be safe. Hell, you'll need to be far away from the ship before he even considers stealing them. But when he does, he goes to town, and the second that he nuts, he often forgets to return them. Sneaking them back into your laundry the next day is always challenging.
Tech is good at being sneaky, but he sometimes lets his confidence get the better of him. You've caught him digging through your laundry basket before, using the excuse of "I was looking for something," before scuttering off. He has one stolen pair that he keeps under his pillow, and uses them over and over until your smell has vanished. So, if your panties ever go missing for days on end, you know who has them.
Crosshair, whilst he is bold and confident, prefers to be sneaky when it comes to something like this. It's weird, isn't it? Sniffing your panties whilst jerking off, all for that extra stimulation. He doesn't often feel guilty of it, just a little... weird? Still, he'll put them back into your laundry basket when done. You can always tell when Crosshair is up to something, as he'll make you caf the next morning - his silent way of saying 'thank you.'
Heyyyyy love, I absolutely love everything you write. I have an itty bitty request!
Would you be able to write a cute fluffy fic with a plus sized female reader with tech with just a touch of spice to it?
You could also make it fun and do one for all the batch members?
Please and thank you if you can!! 🥰🥰
*fun fact - I made that tech edit many moons ago so I’m happy to see it still be used! 🥰🥹*
Plus Size***
All Bad Batch Boys X F!Reader
warnings: Mild NSFW, suggestive themes, plus sized female reader, confident reader (we’re all beautiful plus size or not!), mentions of a busty reader in some parts. Tech and Hunters parts are with an established relationship, others are not.
Authors note: decided to do small one shots for each of them in this post, write more for Tech and Echo because… it’s them ♥️ hope that’s okay with you @clonehoe- sorry for the wait !!!

Tech
Tech was watching you work with great interest, proud of the progress you had made in learning all the tips and tricks necessary for ship repairs. As he observed you beneath the control panel, clad in a snug tank top and form-fitting black pants that accentuated your every curve, he couldn't help but feel his heart rate skyrocket.
"Has the light come on yet?" you asked, your voice slightly muffled by the spanner between your teeth as you glanced up at him for assistance. The ship was scorching hot and it didn’t help that you were settled on a planet that had two suns to add to the heat. The heat system has always been faulty and despite you telling Tech you wanted to focus on fixing that, he was set in you fixing the hyperdrive first.
"Not yet. Try rotating the wiring counterclockwise. That should do the trick," he replied, his voice strained as he watched you work under his guidance. "There it is..." he murmured, his gaze darting to the lights above the control panel as you worked to fix the hyperdrive. "Good girl," he added, his endearment causing a flurry of excitement in your stomach.
Despite the nickname making you momentarily lose your concentration and hit your head against the side of the panel, you managed to remain focused on the task at hand. "Is it working now?" you asked, seeking confirmation with a smile as you wiped sweat from your forehead with the back of your hand.
"Yes, I have to say, I'm very impressed with your skills," he said, helping you out from under the control panel until you plopped down in a nearby seat to catch your breath.
"Yeah?" you asked, seeking reassurance.
"Absolutely," he replied, though his eyes were preoccupied with the alluring contours of your physique. "Perfect," he added, struggling to meet your gaze.
You couldn't help but smirk as you watched Tech struggle to keep his composure under your teasing gaze. Folding your arms over your chest, you subtly pushed your bust up to enhance your assets, causing Tech to wipe the steam that had suddenly formed on his goggles.
"Anything in particular that you're impressed with?" you asked, raising an eyebrow suggestively.
"W-well, it's hard not to be entranced by you looking the way you do while working under my command," he stammered, sitting up straight and tucking away his data pad. "I've adored your appearance since the first day we met, and seeing you all - forgive me - sweaty and wearing tight clothes is quite a fever dream," he added, his words causing a blush to rise on his cheeks.
You stood up slowly and took a couple of steps towards Tech, tilting his chin up to meet your gaze. "That's very sweet of you to say, Tech," you replied, your voice dripping with false innocence and a hint of teasing. "I am feeling a little sweaty though. Perhaps a shower would cool me down," you hinted, hoping he would pick up on your not-so-subtle suggestion.
Tech stood up abruptly, his hands flying to your waist and his fingers digging into your fleshy skin. "Perhaps since you helped me repair my ship, I could help you get freshened up," he offered, his lips trailing down your neck and over your chest despite the sweat that covered your skin.
"Eager, are we?" you asked, wrapping your arms around the back of his neck and suppressing a sweet sigh.
"Very much so," Tech groaned, holding you as close as possible. The two of you were rarely alone on the overcrowded ship, and with his brothers gone on a mission, Tech wasn't about to waste the opportunity to map out your whole body with his tongue.
Echo
"Trooper, what appears to be the issue?" Your entrance into the medbay had Echo stunned, his eyes locked onto your stunning, curvaceous figure and beautiful eyes.
He found himself gaping, struggling to find his words as he wished he had accepted help from the medical droid instead of being left in this state of awe.
"Trooper?"
Apologising for his silence, Echo managed to inform you of his injury to his femur that he sustained during a mission that had left him more grumpy than usual but your soft smile and calm presence helped to ease his nerves. Though, he was a little preoccupied on how your uniform was snug but not to the point it looked bad. It look really good.
He always took himself for a gentleman but as he gapes at you with hungry eyes, it was hard not to get enthralled by you.
You sat down next to him with a datapad, ready to take notes. "Can you tell me how this happened?" you asked with a soft smile.
Echo explained that he sustained the injury during a mission when heavy debris fell on him. You expressed sympathy and asked, "Are you in any pain, sweetie?" You were surprised by the endearment that slipped out of your mouth, although neither of you mentioned it. Then again, you did think he was much cuter than any other clone he had seen.
"Just a little, not as much as before," Echo replies steadily, hoping his blushing cheeks aren't too noticeable.
"I see. Have you been taking any medication for it?"
“No ma’am,”
You nod in understanding and stand to your feet again, placing your device to the side and slide on a pair of gloves. “Do I have permission to touch your leg to feel for any breaks?”
“Yes please.”
You both blink at one another and the quick realisation of what Echo just said sunk in fast but, you were blushing which was a good sign… wasn’t it?
“I mean, uh, do what you have to do ma’am.” He clears his throat, keeping his eyes diverted away from you but you could only smile at him in return and proceed to gently caress his thigh.
“Does it hurt here?” You ask, adding gentle pressure.
“No,” He says through gritted teeth, absolutely loving the touch of your hands on him - even if you were a stranger and even if it was simply your job.
“And here?” You ask again, applying pressure to a different area and as he winced in pain, your question was answered.
After a few more assessments, you highlighted that his femur isn’t fractured, only bruised and should heal naturally on its own. As you give the diagnosis, it went through one ear and out the other because again, his eyes being to wander and land on your hips as you turn away but caught him looking as you turn back to him.
You place your hands to your hips and smirk, “See something you like, Trooper?”
Echo’s eyes widened and he mumbled a thousand apologies at once, stumbling off the bed and thanking you for the help. You had a inkling that you may be seeing him again sometime. Well, you hoped so.
Hunter
Watching you work out was one of Hunter's favourite pastimes. The day was sweltering, and you naturally dressed in less clothing than usual for your workouts.
"Can I join you?" Hunter approaches you with a grin, sporting nothing but shorts that accentuated his tanned and toned body in the sunlight.
Finding yourself gaping in awe at his body too, you can only smirk back, slipping into a fighting stance and recalling every technique that Hunter had taught you. "How could I say no to you?" You ask and as you move, sweat drips from your body, enhancing your already alluring figure and heightening Hunter's senses.
"Good form," he compliments, stepping closer to you. His tone hints at his admiration for not only your workout performance but also your physique.
"Oh really?" You turn your head to glance at him, your eyes twinkling with amusement. "Why don't you demonstrate some other stances for me?"
Hunter relishes in the playful tone of your voice and steps up behind you, placing his hands tenderly on your hips, which he always yearns to touch. "Angle your body to the left and add a bounce to your knees," he instructs, guiding you through the movement. Though he knows you are capable of executing the exercise on your own, he can't resist the opportunity to have his hands on you.
You follow his directions but find yourself a little distracted by his touch. Even with his heightened senses, it feels as though Hunter is transferring his energy to you as his fingers caress the curves of your hips, trailing down to your thighs and back up to your arse, sending shivers down your spine. “Hunter…” you find yourself moaning his name, earning a low chuckle.
“Don’t get distracted by me,” he breathes down the nape of your neck but with his bare torso against your back and his hands roaming your body, it was so hard not to.
Wrecker
Wrecker had always admired your body, but it was your thighs that truly captivated him. At first, he was drawn in by your beauty, and it took some time for him to realize the full extent of his fascination. It wasn't until he saw you wearing shorts to bed one night that he truly understood the power of your curvy legs.
Now, as you lay on your cot reading a holobook, legs propped up in the air, Wrecker found himself once again unable to tear his gaze away from your thighs. He was so engrossed in his own thoughts that he didn't notice you watching him until you decide to speak up.
"May I make you an offer, Wrecker?" You asked, and he nearly jumped out of his skin at the sound of your voice. He cleared his throat and tried to act casual as he responded.
"Sure, what is it?"
"If you promise to stop staring at my legs all the time, I'll let you come over and give them a massage," you smirk, lowering your holobook to look him in the eye. Wrecker felt his face flush with embarrassment. Had it been so obvious that he couldn't take his eyes off you?
He started to stammer out an apology, but you cut him off with a wave of her hand and a soft smile.
"I don't mind," you say, sitting up until you’re sitting on your legs and teasingly entice him over by beckoning him with your finger. “I like to think they’re my best assets,” you comment, patting your legs that made them subtly jiggle which almost made him drop his helmet he was cleaning.
“Well, they are pretty.” He stands and comes closer until he sits on the edge of your bed watching you shift from your current position to you sat with them laid out. “Did ya mean your offer?” He asks, fingers twitching to reach out and touch your skin.
“I did,” you smirk, “go ahead.”
His hands come down to your thighs, large and rough yet gentle as he caresses your skin. He watches you for your reaction and as you tilt your head back and sigh in satisfaction, he knew he made the right choice in accepting your offer.
Crosshair
Crosshair watched as you struggled to hit the bottles he had set up as targets. He shook his head in disapproval and clicked his tongue, his new found admiration for you mingling with his frustration at your poor performance. But, he couldn’t help but also admire the view of you.
"You're doing it all wrong," he chided from the sidelines. To which, you let out a heavy sigh and nearly threw the rifle to the ground in frustration.
"I'm standing exactly where you told me to," you huffed, earning an eye roll from Crosshair. He approaches you, a small smirk on his lips as he positioned himself behind you.
"No, you're not," he teased, but he softened his tone as he sensed your frustration growing. "Stand here," he instructed, pointing to a spot next to him.
Reluctantly, you obeyed, standing close to him as he instructed you to raise the rifle and relax your shoulders. Crosshair watched you with his sharp eyes, feeling a sense of power as he towered over you.
"Okay, now what?" You asked, breath steady as you glanced back at him. You couldn't help but feel weak in the knees whenever he looked at you like that. He always had a hold over you, and him being so close to you now didn't help.
"Don't look at me, look at the target," he commanded. His voice, which usually dripped with venom, was surprisingly soft and alluring.
Turning away, you let out a small and surprised gasp as his hands come to your waist but to your surprise, he let out a small gasp himself.
“Wow princess,” he cooed, his fingers melting against the curve of your body, “I always knew you had a beautiful body but to touch it… stunning.” He breathes down your neck.
Your eyes widened at his words but you succumbed quickly to his touch, your back pressed against his chest as his hands begin to roam your body. “Y-you like my body?” You question with a hint of insecurity but your question is answered as he finally places his lips to your neck.
“I love,” he sighs, caressing your body from over your clothes, “every inch.”
You end up dropping his weapon eventually, it clanging to the floor with a thud and as you go to apologise, he spins you to face him, close and dominant. “Screw it,” he grunts, devouring your lips with his own.
That was enough teaching for one day…

Authors note: I’ve read a lot of head cannons about the Bad Batch reacting to the reader on their period, and a lot have the batch cuddling with the reader or bringing them chocolate and sweets. But I don’t usually like physical affection or sweets on my period so I thought I’d write for the people that deal with the same thing!
Warnings: None really
Relationship: The Bad Batch x Gn!Reader
Summary: How the Bad Batch react to the reader on their period.
He would know that you’re on your period, but he wouldn’t be sure on what to do.
In the past you’ve had a consistent habit of pushing him away and burrowing yourself into the covers of your bunk. It was a strange behavior to him since you’re usually touchy or want to be touched.
He’s tried bringing you sweet things, but every time he would, you would push that away too and prefer to eat little to nothing at all. It concerned him and he so badly wanted to help you with what you were going through.
It wasn’t until you broke down that he took action and did whatever he could to help you.
He brought you water, lended you an extra blanket, or calmed you down with comforting words of affirmation.
“I’m sorry, Cyare. I’m sorry I can’t help you more.” He would say. “You’ll feel better soon, I promise you’ll feel better. Please let me help you.”
He would sit with you for a while, long after you calmed down and fallen asleep.
He still hasn’t figured out how to help you more, but he knows that he will always be by your side.
Wrecker is an affectionate kind of guy, it’s just in his nature! So when you push him away one day, he is hurt and confused.
He would pout in a corner, watching you lay in your bunk, occasionally shifting uncomfortably and readjusting your pillow.
You eventually look behind and whisper that you’re on your period and that you just wanted to be left alone, but he could still sit beside you.
He would move closer, gently twirling a strand of hair in between his fingers.
He understands what a period is, he isn’t dumb. When he thought about it, he could remember past times where you would push away his affection, or refuse sweets he had bought after missions.
“How long does this last?” He stares at your face, watching it contort up in pain. You would tell him it lasted 3 to 7 days and he would gasp in surprise. “That’s a long time! How do you do it, Ad’ika?”
He would sit with you for while, chatting animatedly about whatever to distract you, his energy thriving. It would make you happy and forget all about the pain in your abdomen.
Tech does not care much for physically touch to begin with, so you would not have any issues with getting him away.
He would talk your ear off though, staying facts about menstrual cycles and all the side effects.
It’s stuff you already knew and you would get annoyed quickly and tell him off. He wouldn’t get angry, outbursts and being emotional are side effects after all.
He would bring you pain meds and a heating pad to ease the pain. He would make sure you’re well fed hydrated and buy period products if you needed it. Tech has no shame, it would not bother him.
Eventually though, you would reach out to him, grasping his hand gently while he read up on a heated blanket on his data pad. You don’t like physical touch, it heats you up and makes you sticky, but sometimes you like to make an exception for Tech.
“I though you did not care for physical contact.” He’d state matter of factly. You’d shake your head and say just for a moment. “Whatever makes you feel best, Dearest.” He’d thread his fingers in your own and hold on tight.
Right off the bat he would get your water and pain killers. Echo wastes no time in making sure you’re comfortable and ready for the long week ahead of you.
He gets you water and heating pads, making sure the ship is cool enough for you to lay under a blanket, but too cool that you’re freezing.
He would let you borrow his data pad so you could binge all your favorite shows and guard the door to make sure no one bothers you.
He would offer his physical touch just in case you needed it, but you would refuse saying his company is just what you needed.
He would linger awkwardly, thinking of anything else you might need. You would laugh and make him join you by your bedside. You would pat his head and the turn the data pad towards him so he can watch whatever drama you are into.
“Are you sure you don’t want anything sweet, Cyar’ika? I have some chocolate stashed somewhere.” You shook your head no and he sighs. “That’s right, it gives you stomach aches. Maybe something salty?”
He’d leave you once you’ve fallen asleep, preparing whatever else you might need once you wake up.
Your moody self and Crosshairs moody self does not clash well when you’re on your period.
The minute you woke up on your first day of your period, you pushed him into the floor because of a hot flash. He’d curse and glare at you.
Crosshair already knew the procedure. He’d get you what you needed and then leave you as quickly as possible.
As much as the man loves you, he cannot stand you on your period. Don’t get him wrong, it’s not because he finds it gross or weird. He just isn’t used to you being so agitated and he’s worried he might snap at you and hurt your feelings.
He’ll wait for you to fall asleep before going to see you. He’ll fill up your glass of water, replace your heating pad, and make sure you didn’t have any accidents while you huddled underneath your blankets.
“So needy,” He’d mumbled under his breath. He’ll lean over and give you a long kiss on your lips, a whispered sentence passing his own. “Get well soon, love.”
You would have heard him, pretending to sleep because you knew of his little habit. You would smile once he leaves and wait for him to do it again on the days to come.
Prompt: You and the Bad Batch were on a mission and things went differently than planned. You and [Insert Desired Clone] got separated from the rest of the batch. You were told that they had escaped off-world and would return in one rotation to come and get you two. So you two find a motel to camp up in. Tired from the mission you accept the first room that was available and the cheapest. You two go to the room only to discover that there is only one bed. How will this pan out with the two of you have been pining for each other but not realizing it?
Notes: This is Gender Neutral friendly!
Hunter
Both of you just stand by the door shocked for a moment, taking in the room.
"I can sleep on the floor if you want." Hunter offered first, throwing his bag down on the floor at the foot of the bed.
You instantly shake your head not wanting the higher-ranking sergeant to be sleeping on the floor, "No, I can't let you do that. I can sleep on the floor."
"Don't worry about me, I've slept in worse places." Hunter was not budging.
You had to come up with a compromise realizing he was going to be stubborn about this. You quickly realize that no matter what, you will be sleeping on the bed.
But what if it wasn't just you in the bed?
"Well, the bed is quite big. What if we both sleep in the bed?"
Hunter looks genuinely surprised, but reluctantly agrees that was probably the best solution.
Both of you get ready to go to sleep crawling into bed and keeping a respectful distance between the two of you.
When the lights go out, your anxieties from today's mission start to grow in your mind.
It doesn't take Hunter long to realize you are nowhere near falling to falling asleep.
"What's wrong?" His voice is quiet as if he had found you after one of your nightmares and the two of you were trying to keep quiet to not wake the others.
"Do you think the others are okay?"
"They should be fine."
The two of you talk quietly to each other about the mission and what is to come next. Quietly talking into the late hours of the night about anything and everything.
His voice slowly calms your nerves and you start finding yourself relaxing.
After a moment, Hunter spoke softly again, “Can I be honest with you?”
“Always.”
Hunter reached out into the darkness for you without any more words and quietly pulled you closer to him.
You were surprised at first, but you trust him enough to wrap his arms around you and hold you close to his body.
“I’ve wanted to do this since we first met you.” He buried his nose into the nape of your neck, his arms wrapped around your torso as your legs tangled with his.
You smile into the night, finding his hands and entwining his fingers with yours. You pressed yourself back up against him, “Me too.”
You were quick to fall asleep in his arms, Hunter falling asleep just as fast, holding onto you.
Wrecker
"Oh, this could be fun!"
You are stunned by Wrecker's excitement that there is only one bed in this room, "What?"
"This can be like one of those sleepovers you told me about! We could stay up late and eat snacks and watch movies!"
He somehow made you laugh and feel a bit better about the whole experience. He was moving around the room excitedly putting all the gear away.
"I'll go get some snacks! You stay here and start picking out a movie."
"Be careful, please. They might still be out looking for us." You voiced your concern, considering you two just got finished with a mission.
He just gave you a dazzling smile, telling you he would be fine.
You got ready for bed, staying to one side respectfully looking through the movies to watch.
Wrecker returned quickly, his arms full of all kinds of different foods.
He practically jumped on the bed, the frame groaning from his weight making you laugh.
"What do you want to watch?" You asked him as he settled himself in the bed, laying out all of the snacks he managed to get.
"Something fun."
You nodded, eventually picking out a movie for the two of you to watch and grabbing from Wrecker's food pile to snack on your own.
Not long into the movie, you felt Wrecker's strong hands on your hips, pulling you into his lap.
You weren't surprised at the physical affection, Wrecker being the one to show that type of affection the most.
You relaxed into his lap, your head resting back on his shoulder.
His warmth quickly pulled you to sleep, with Wrecker turning the movie off and wrapping his arms around you, and falling asleep with you.
Tech
You were stunned when you saw only one bed in the room.
Tech took a moment looking between the bed and his holo pad.
“Well, I certainly wasn’t expecting this.” He stated, moving to put down everything the two of you had.
“Do you think one of us should sleep on the floor?”
Tech paused what he was doing looking at the bed, “I don’t think that is necessary. The bed is plenty big for the both of us to have our own respective space.”
You were honestly surprised he was so calm about the entire thing, watching him go back to putting away and organizing your and his things.
"You don't have a problem with sleeping in the same bed with me?"
"Why would I?"
You had no more words for him and decided that this was okay. So you got ready for bed, settling yourself in with your own holo pad.
Tech joined you not long, the both of you staying in silence with your own devices.
"Hey look at this," Tech said after a moment, leaning over to show you what was on his device.
You found yourself smiling and scooting closer to Tech in the bed, "That actually reminds me of something."
You show him something on your holo pad and before you know it the two of you are quietly sharing information with each other.
Throughout the conversation of showing each other things from your devices, you realized the two of you got close enough in bed where his shoulder was pressed up to yours.
Deciding to make a small leap of faith, you laid your head on his shoulder. Tech was unphased, still currently showing you what had interested him on his holo pad.
You don't know when, but you fell asleep like this, with your head on his shoulder.
You woke up hours later to discover that Tech had fallen asleep as well. His arms wrapped around you with his cheek resting on top of your head.
His holo pad was squished between the two of you.
You smile feeling completely warm and comfortable, minus the hard device digging into your skin.
You carefully pull it out from between the two of you, laying his holo pad on the bed next to your own.
You happily cuddled up closer to Tech, wrapping your arms around him and pressing your cheek against his chest.
Echo
Both of you pause for a moment, staring at the room with only one bed.
"I guess we can both sleep in it or would you rather I sleep on the floor?" Echo spoke after a while, "I don't mind. I've slept in worse places."
You shook your head instantly saying no to Echo sleeping on the floor. He had already been through so much, the idea of him sleeping on the cold hard floor did not sit well with you.
"We can sleep together. The bed is big enough." You offered.
"Are you sure?" Your comfort was obviously the main concern for you.
"Yeah. I'm fine." You assured him.
The two of you settle into the bed, keeping a respectful distance between the two of you.
Echo ends up finding the holo drama the two of you have been watching when you got some downtime. The two of you decide to watch at least one episode.
“Oh come on. This is a classic trope. Watch, because she’s now in the hospital, he is suddenly going to tell her his feelings about her.”
“Actually I think he’s going to try to tell her, but then feel guilty because she’s hurt. So he decides against telling her. Especially if there are family members in the room.”
You ended up being right, the both of you softly laughing over the whole thing.
You started to feel cold, wrapping the blanket around you and starting to shiver, and Echo noticed.
“Are you cold?” He sounds concerned. You shake your head no, but then your body betrays you and starts to shiver.
Echo reaches over, wrapping his arm around your shoulder, and pulling you to him. His legs are surprisingly warm, the machinery of his legs under covers staying warm compared to when you’ve felt them out on a mission and they were cold.
“You’re like a heater.” You muttered instantly curling up against him seeking out his warmth.
“Yeah. It surprised me too. My guess is when I’m covered, the airflow seems to get circulated less thus heat. Almost like if you leave a computer on while running a program that's intensive on the CPU.”
“I guess that makes sense. Have you ever overheated?”
Echo shook his head no.
The two of you focused back on the holo drama you were watching. Once the first episode was over, Echo asked if you wanted to watch another.
You fell asleep curled up against Echo’s side with your head on his shoulder watching the second episode. Echo was quick to follow suit with his arms wrapped around you.
Crosshair
“Well I guess you are going to be sleeping on the floor,” Crosshair teased the second he saw that there was only one bed in the room.
“What? No! You are the one who’s going to sleep on the floor.”
“No, I’m going to be sleeping in the bed.”
“No, I’m going to be sleeping in the bed!”
“Well, I guess we will have to sleep together then,” Crosshair smirked, putting his things away first and then moving to help you, by just taking your things.
“Fine.” You huffed already tired from the mission today. You would rather have fewer arguments, “Just don’t get handsy with me. I don’t know where you’ve been.”
“Been around more than you have.”
“Oh, and that makes you a better person?”
Crosshair just snorts in response. He starts getting ready for bed and you decide to follow his lead.
The two of you get into the bed, keeping a fair distance between each other.
“Well, goodnight then.” you sigh and turn off the lights, settling yourself in under the covers. You just hear a small grunt from Crosshair.
It takes you a little to fall asleep, but you eventually do. It was a lot faster than normal considering the fact you had another person in the bed with you.
In the middle of the night, you wake up feeling a lot warmer. Actually, you feel really warm.
Throughout the night, Crosshair had inched his way over to you, resting his head on your chest and wrapping his arms around your torso. He held onto you like you were a lifeline in his sleep.
You found yourself smiling and slowly wrapping your arms around him as well, feeling very comfortable with him here like this with you. You quickly fall back asleep, hugging him to your chest.
