Pulled him TWICE
There is nothing better than a battle full of Hawks.
I don't care what anyone says, Hawks still looks handsome in his early-thirties. He's been through living hell, almost died on multiple occasions, and suffers trauma and lifetime permanent scars. He lost his quirk and went through experiences that would have mentally broken anyone. He got his wish in the end, he can relax and enjoy his life.
Hawks is one of the strongest characters in the manga, and I don't mean physically. He most definitely went to therapy for all the trauma and possibly to help adjust to losing a whole sense (his quirk) and his wings. Rather than retire from hero work, he became president of the commission, to which he now helps lead the new generation of heroes and looks after the safety of Japan. He still cares about others, and rather than lose his shit over all the trauma he experienced, he lives happily. He sleeps well and clearly takes care of himself. He is most definitely on happy pills and possibly suffers from PTSD, but at the very least, he is alive, happy, and well. He kept moving forward and finally became the person he wanted to be.
AND TO ANYONE WHO SAYS "Oh, he's ugly or looks like his dad, or he's not my Hawks." Shut up and listen. You aren't going to stay handsome after surviving multiple near-death experiences that left multiple scars along with possibly destroyed nerves. Recovery, even with how advanced the medicine is in their world, isn't going to restore you to your youthful self. If you've ever met someone who had battle scars or suffered heavy trauma, they aren't going to look how they used to. Plus, genetics? Of course, at some point, he'd look like his mother and/or father. Whatever the case, Hawks is still the same character I love and adore. I will continue to adore and love him for who he is.
I don't care what anyone says, I will fucking die on this hill.
Hawks, but he's in an inflatable turkey costume, gobbling at everyone in the commission to boost morale. He remembered that Americans celebrated a holiday, he couldn't remember the name exactly and started going around the different offices shouting "Merry Turkey Day!" Everyone was confused as to why a 30yo is acting like a child. Then everyone remembered it's Hawks.
I got sick a few days ago and it reminded me of this
Canon notices you still hadn't gotten out of bed around noon and went to check on you. Your face was pale and your lips were redder than normal. He checked your temperature, you were burning up and were barely awake. Immediately Hawks went to the fridge and grabbed a cold compress. He wrapped a cloth around it and placed it on your head to cool you down. The most Hawks knew was that rest would be the best option, though for a temperature as high as yours he decided to get you some medicine. Checking around, you had nothing for fever which meant Hawks would have to go and buy some. He goes out to buy medicine and stops to buy some chicken noodle soup as well. Coming home, he gives you the medicine and begins working on making you the soup. While the soup heated, he readied a cold bath and some spare clothes for you as he woke you from your needed slumber. He apologized and helped you up, leading you to the bath room. Helping you strip down and into the tub, you almost jumped back into Keigo's arms, but he reassured you he would be by your side. The cold water woke you, and as much as you didn't want to, you needed to cool your body down. After fighting your mental self, you had him help you in the tub and prevent you from escaping the cold water. A few minutes passed before you adjusted to the water. You felt slightly better, but after the bath, you just wanted warmth. Keigo helped you get dressed and lead you to the couch, where he had already prepared a few blankets and pillows for you. He served you some soup and set you on the couch as he went to change the sheets in your bedroom, throwing your current into the washer. Keigo wasn't good with his words when it came to you, but he was very expressive through his actions. It was something you loved about him, we was never static, in fact, he was very fluid with his motions and made sure to express his emotions. He took care of you in sickness and in heath. The rest of the day, he spent by your side, tending to your every need. Your fever was bad and lasted about a week. After you had recovered, the following week Keigo got sick himself and now it was your turn to take care of him.
V.S.
Fanon senses your sickness and begins to panic. To you, you just had a simple fever, to him you were on the brink of death. He can be a bit overdramatic with his actions, but you knew Keigo meant well. He immediately left to get medicine, soup and even some bottles of water. He gave you the medicine and began making the soup. As he did, he left a few feathers around you to keep an ear out for you. He kept a cold wet rag on your head and kept it wet to help break your fever. Keigo didn't want you to move a muscle, he fed you, helped you drink water, and even checked for any other symptoms. He hoped it was only a fever and nothing worse. Keigo dreaded losing you, you were all he had and he would be lost without you. His wings were disheveled, and so was his hair. He paced around the house as you slept. Eventually he got so anxious that he sat by your bed and held your hand as you slept. He stayed with you as you slept, eventually falling asleep as well. Waking up feeling better, you turn to see Keigo asleep, he was on his knees and half of his body was on the bed. His head resting on his arm and his hand intertwined with yours. You watched him sleep and decided to wait for him to wake up to tell him you felt better. An hour had passed before he woke up, and upon hearing you were feeling better, he rushed to give you a hug and covered your face in kisses. He wings flapping happily and little chirps could be heard from him as he nozzles his face into your neck. You laughed and told him to take it easy, but Keigo wanted nothing more than to hold you in his arms for the rest of the day. And he did just that.
The fact that this was posted in April and is STILL getting likes blows my mind. IT'S JUST A SILLY HEADCANON! WHY IS EVERYONE ALL OVER THIS?!
Whenever I re-watch the 3rd MHA movie, I like to think that Hawks is fast, but like, inhumanely fast. So fast that he can dodge literal gunfire and take down the enemies with ease. BECAUSE HE FUCKING DOES! He moves so fast that he is unharmed as he fights on the ground and still keeps going. Without his wings btw, because his feathers are busy searching, so ye. Hawks is fast, but like, inhumanely fast that it's scary.
Hawks has big wings. We love it.
Something the manga captures that the anime doesn't.
An old favorite
Fanon lovers: Hawks would be a shitty boyfriend since he is always working and probably uses his body in some lines of his work.
Canon lovers: Hawks is a precious fucking bean that must be protected. If you try and slander the precious nugget, you are going to meet your McFucking end.
With MHA being over, it's hard to say theres anything else to write about. I think I'll just periodically repost really old posts about Hawks from now on, and answer any asks!
Okay I like sting bean hawks, but hear me out, hawks would have massive pecks/chest and back muscles because of his wings…and then like have a skinny waist….like a triangle/Dorito
IIRC Hawks has complained about his body not being able to accommodate his wings properly. But in light of your comment. I do think rather than having a bugger chest, Hawks would likely benefit more if he had a spare set of pectorals. If you were to think of it on an anatomical level, the pectorals help with the movement of the shoulders and arms. For the movement of wings, you would more than likely need another set of pectorals to help, along with stronger back muscles.
Hawks, per say, wouldn't need more muscles to accommodate his wings, but rather, he would need a body that actually accommodates his wings.
I think a good way to explain it would be your stereotypical harpy or wyvern. Their arms are wings, meaning they have no hands, so they would have no need for an extra set of muscles. Harpies are depicted as a part woman part bird creature in mythology. However, with how the body is *typically* structured, their bodies are more bird than humans, so the muscle structures would look different, yet it would accommodate for the wings.
Wyverns are depicted as dragons who have wings for arms rather than a typical western dragon that has wings on its back. Western dragons are usually depicted as having strong, large bodies, and while we can not actually confirm their muscle structure, we often seen them design with large chests, and more than likely a complex muscle structure to also accommodate for their wings. Wyverns wouldn't need as large of a chest as a western dragon and more often depicted with slender bodies compared to that of a western dragon, yet still are big since they need strong muscles to fly.
Let's take Hawks now. Being human, his body is not adapted to have wings. If you look at, say, a body builder and how they large muscles, if you gave them wings, what muscles exactly would be used to promote the wings to function? None, why? Because every muscle on the human body already has its use and purpose. Simply put, you would need extra muscles on your body that are specifically for said wings. If we were to put that into Hawks, his body would look different. If we were to go off of how his quirk is used and how long he has been training his quirk, and if he did have the proper muscles to accommodate his wings. Hawks would look completely different. Yes, he would have a winder chest, but he would have extra muscles, such as extra pecorals and even extra back muscles.
Anyways I got off track here.... sorry about that >.>
Yes, he would have a strong upper body, but IMO (OPINION BTW) his entire body wouldn't also be as strong. He is meant for speed, not strength. We don't know a lot about how his wings actually work if you think of it from a muscle standpoint. Hell, with how his quirk works and what we have seen in the manga and anime, we can't even guarantee he has wing bones.
That being all said. I'm just rambling, so ignore me. But I still prefer string bean Hawks over muscular Hawks :P
I like to think that Fanon Hawks actually has a good sense of fashion, meanwhile... we've seen Canon Hawks and some of his more.... questionable fashion choices.
Okay, so. Buff Hawks? I love it, but it still feels a bit off for me. Is there anyone else who feels the same? Just me? Okay.
I will always love my string bean of a hero that is Hawks.
