Racing Pigeon

Chase felt the wind batter his face and he zipped through the woods. He knew he was ahead in the race, wings beating quickly, tucking in to get through spots that where to tight for others racers through giving a head up during races. He was from a family of racing pigeon and wore his dad’s green race suit which fit him like a glove, a small skull embroidered on it.

He caught his wing on a branch and a grey father fell off his wing and a curse brushed his lips, this was a world wide known race, he was still shocked he made it this far. The wind whistled in his ears as he continued to swerve through the trees, heart hammering in his chest.

He didn’t expect what happened next.

A branch fell onto him. A big heavy mass of wood fell on him, a world class racer. He let out a yelp and felt a wing crack when the branch hit him causing him to plummet and pinning him to the floor, pain shooting through is body like hot, white fire. He took a few ragged breaths and tried to move. He couldn’t.

His breathing became faster as he started to worry, he could not seem to be able to get enough air in his lungs. His eyes watered and lungs stung. He wriggled and squirmed but was unable to move as each twitch of the muscles in his back sent waves of pain across his body. What if he couldn’t fly again? How would his family react, How would his Dad react? A Brody unable to fly, it would be a disgrace!

Something wet rolled down his face as he tried to hold himself still, still unable to breath his vision was going as fuzzy as his thoughts, black spots popping up. He couldn’t hear the surroundings, it was as if he was underwater, everything seemed so quite, so, distant. Breaths short and sharp and felt cold and painful, his head pounded. A sob escaped his throat at some point. He was alone, who would find him here? Was he going to die? He didn’t want to die. Thoughts swirled, he was scared, so   bloody   scared.

Then he noticed some movement. It was’t an animal, too big, well he hoped it wasn’t an animal because he couldn’t think of anything that big that was nice. It was dressed in a red t-shirt and dark beige shorts. He looked confused as if he had just walked upon him and a small determined frown appeared on his face

“Hey, I’m gonna try and move this branch, you think you can move?” 

Chase nodded quickly, the sooner  was off the better. The man came closer and chase noticed his short trimmed beard and mustache, His wings where neatly tucked and a woody brown, lighter on the underside. The man put two hands under the branch.

“Okay, 1, 2 ,3, GO!” The man lifted and Chase wiggled from underneath as the man dropped it on the dirt, both of them panting “Hey... I’m Jackie” the man- Jackie said.

“I’m chase, thanks” His voice was hoarse and weak with exhaustion and pain. His wing was bent awkwardly as the line of black feathers was no longer solid or straight. Jackie reached into a leather messenger bag slung over his shoulder and took out a water bottle and passed it to him.

“What you doing out here? I normally never see anyone when I go berry picking” Jackie asked as Chase took long swigs of water. 

“I was racing, taking a shortcut” He said between sips. “Guess I missed the time to get to the checkpoint” he let out a weak laugh, Jackie just frowned. “What are you anyway?”

“A robin, why?” the other man had stood up

“Wait, a robin, how did you lift that branch?” Chase eyes widened. The other man just shrugged.

Finally Chase stood up, ignored the pain that shot down his back and looked round. All he could see was trees for miles but he had a sense of the direction he needed to go, he was a pigeon after all. The other man looked at him. “Want to get outta here?”

“Yeah” Chase replied, he had enough of forests today.

Chase’s Story

I think I figured out a timeline for Chase's story in Jack's videos, starting with the first one being "Bro Average", second is "Soon", third is "Barry Has a Secret", fourth being "TIE", fifth is "Dark Silence", sixth is "Exiles", and lastly "CHASE"

Ever since Jack played the “FAITH” game I've had that scene from the exorcist stuck in my head where Priest Schneep is exorcising an Anti possessed Jack and it seems like such a cool fan art idea!

Can I ask for your opinion on people comparing sanders sides to iris/Jacksepticeye’s egos when it comes to the wait time and how the stories have been handled? I’ve seen some discussion on people comparing both from that angle, and would be curious to know if you have any thoughts on that.

Btw I understand if you choose to ignore this ask since it does involve criticism stuff. Just would like to get perspective on this from someone who knows both a lot better (I am not super familiar with jse myself but I have been in the tss fandom for a while).

And yeah, I’ll talk about this a bit. As long as this is coming from a view to discuss and think reasonably and rationally and not a view of pure, burning, blind rage just cause. (Also, this is going to be long because I have a lot to say)

Personally, I have no problem with the wait from either creator. I can consume other forms of media for the time being. I enjoy their content greatly, and I dabble in artworks and fanfictions while I wait, but I’m not reliant. And it's not like these people are creating nothing. They still have other stuff for us to enjoy. Like Jack’s gaming content or Thomas’s shorts or videos with Sleep or the star signs or the planets. Hell, Thomas is working on a video for Picani right now!

Also, people don’t realize that these things take a long time. They both have to go to places, set up equipment, record multiple takes, and repeat since both of them deal with multiple characters. And then the whole thing has to be spliced together and edited to make a coherent story. And of course, Thomas is going to take longer because he’s doing more. Yes, Jack has to add glitchy effects to his editing, but Thomas is literally making music for us to consume and enjoy. Do you know how long it takes to make music? That adds more writing, more editing, background music production, and more recording on top of the stuff he already has to do.

And both come from small teams of people with a lot of things to do, so it's going to be expected when things take a while to come out.

The stories, on the other hand, I find a weird thing to compare (if they are being compared, I haven’t seen anything since I blocked the tag.) They are completely different genres after all. Thomas’s series is supposed to be more feel-good mental health help, with a hint of drama. (That, naturally, is gonna take more research.) Jack is making an analog horror. Things are going to be different. Also, Jack is just starting his series! He had to pause production because of COVID and just finished his video with Chase that he wanted to finish in 2019! We shouldn’t compare apples to oranges, but we definitely shouldn’t compare when one of the fruit isn’t even ripe yet.

Lastly, I find it weird to compare these people at all. Why? Because they’re people. It's like not going to college and then your mom going “Your brother went to college, you know.” We shouldn’t compare Thomas to Sean because Thomas isn’t Sean. People go at things at their own pace. People have their own personal struggles to deal with. And these people are people, not a content farm for you to throw your rotten tomatoes at whenever you feel.

And I’m not saying you have to like these people, I just think other factors go into both series that people don’t consider. Like personal struggles or where they live. (Not to get political, but Florida is kinda a shithole right now. Stay safe if you live in that part ❤️)

But yeah, sorry if this was long, these are my feelings on the matter.

(Also, if you want to compare, Markiplier made a movie, so 🤷 /j)

your blog would have my day back in 2017 when i was deep into the SaSi/Egos/ALTRs crossover trenches istg :') i also remember i wrote a lenghty fic about the Egos and the Sides meeting and to this day people still leave kudos on it on ao3

Very funny that you say that, actually, because my brain has been so deep fried I’ve actually been working on fics of my own about a very similar concept. It's been very fun and, one day, I may post it. Who knows 🤷

Things I think about a lot in my fandoms that I can’t explain:

1. That one fangame that represented Darkiplier as a girl. (Paired with Damien and Celine creating Darkiplier, it makes my head go round)

2. I saw a post that I could’ve SWORN was a SanderSides rp post, but it was a Wilford and Dark rp post. And the only reason I thought it was the first was because of the use of “Storm Cloud” (Now I can only imagine someone calling out ‘storm cloud’ and both of them responding and being really awkward about it.)

3. “What are you gonna do? Punch me? You can’t fucking punch me.” (Blooper Remus. Iconic.)

4. Stan and Patton are, like, the same person. Just different fonts.

5. If they existed in the same universe, Chase would warn the others about Anti and everyones reactions would boil down to “THAT CAN HAPPEN??/WE CAN DO THAT??” (Mostly referring to the sides, Mark’s egos seem a little jaded. More of a ‘well, that might as well happen.’)

6. Does anyone else remember that one time that Patton said “Not all loops are bad. Fruit.”? Because I do. And I can confidently say that Dark and Anti would be furious if they heard Patton say that.

May add more to this, who knows 🤷
