ya like jan would literally get doctors to try experimental drugs on wylan and jan literally side that he used to beat wylan

Jan Van Eck writing letters to Wylan, knowing he can't read, must be one of the cruelest things a negligent parent could ever do. and by that I mean mocking your own child instead of trying to understand and help them. I'm sorry it just makes me really emotional, I think sometimes we focus more on the other characters and their past, but Wylan was not as privileged as it seems to be at the beginning

He wanted to ask for a billion, but he didn't want to prove inej right (greed is your god scene)

We talk a lot about 30 million kruge, because of course we do, but we don’t mention often enough that the original offer was FIVE. It took Kaz one conversation to get it from five million to twenty million, and then he demanded thirty anyway. I love him.

you're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul

marya hendriks thought jan van eck loved her but when her beloved son named wylan still coudn't read or write everything changed.

jan sent her to asylum. she never thought that she's able to hate someone with that passion but when her wylan told her what her ex husband did to their son and she felt passionate anger. she wanted kill jan.

she knew how wylan met jesper, she's not dumb, she knew her son became a criminal. she didn't want to belive rumours but in the end it didn't matter — her son was safe and only that mattered.

she visited jan once. "i know what you did" she told him and watched how fear appeared in his eyes "i know you tried kill my son and his friends. i know what you did to sweet inej and i know what you did to wylan, how you treated him and how you punished him for something that small." "then you know that he's an idiot!" yelled jan. she ignored him. " mr. brekker and i had a deal. say goodbye to your cell and cellmates, jan" marya whispered. "say goodbye, my dear."

i just realized is that kaz tried to use a father’s love for his son against him three times (jan van eck, pekka rollins, colm fahey)

and i just can’t help but think about how much his dad must’ve loved him for him to think of a father’s love as their greatest weakness
