I want to cheer on as many people as possible! Since I’ve already done posts for these four in previous rounds, I’ve decided to do one for all of them together! All of them are my friends, so please vote for them!
- Rifty is kind and fun to be around! They’re also purple, which is the best colour. They went out of their way to pose for me to help me draw their horns last time I drew them, and I think that’s really nice of them! I still need to do something for them to repay the favour. This post doesn’t count!
- Peony is smarter than most adults I’ve met, and she’s even younger than my little sister! She has really cool soul magic powers, and even though she’s much smarter than me, she isn’t ever mean to me about it. In fact, she’s a real sweetheart! And her parents are really nice too!
- When I first met Noir, I thought he seemed really cool and I wanted to be friends with him. But now that I am friends with him, I can see that in fact… he is really cool! He’s nice to kids and I respect that a lot! He also once offered to scare away anyone who bullied me. I’d do the same for him!
- Mr Mapobas is a royal mage! He’s very important! And yet he’s been really nice to me and offered me lots of advice, even though I’m just some random noddy who does magic tricks for a living. He’s one of my favourite people to talk to. And he’s super fashionable! And he has cool hair!

…Okay, this one isn’t a surprise really. Rifty posed for my drawing earlier to help me figure out how to draw their horns, so they knew this was coming! Still, here’s some reasons to vote for Rifty!
- Their name comes from them falling out of a rift. I think that’s a pretty interesting origin story!
- They’re good friends with Kirby! So if you vote for them, you’ll make Kirby happy!
- They’re purple! Everyone knows purple is the best colour. Short purple kids gotta stick together!

Rifty’s Awakening 🦋
A short introductory comic about the events of Rifty’s arrival in Dream Land! (I’d like to thank @ommetaphobian for helping me with the snow on the cover image, this artwork wouldn’t be the same without their help!)
This comic briefly describes Rifty’s perspective of their arrival. I also have a short story I wrote that detail the same events from Kirby’s perspective that I’ll hopefully post here sometime soon! I’ve accumulated quite the amount of handwritten OC stories over the past few months 💜

Last minute submission! Name: Rifty Personality: Rifty is a kind-hearted, benevolent being like Kirby. However, unlike Kirby, Rifty is more shy and introverted, though they still enjoy the close company of their friends. Backstory & Lore: Riding in from a winter breeze, Rifty arrived in Dream Land from a mysterious inter-dimensional rift. They have no memory of who they were before, the only thing they remember is waking in Kirby’s house after Kirby took them in from the storm. Rifty has been living in Dream Land for a couple of months now, doing their best to settle into their new peaceful life, all while still being haunted by the past they can’t quite grasp. Notes on Personality (optional, but preferred!):
She seems cold and hard to approach at first, but she's really a case of cold on the outside but warm on the inside, once you get to know her better, she's kind, compassionate, and understanding, she's willing to stick up for you even during your lowest of lows, Periwinkle is also quite the bookworm, so expect random facts related to the topic of the conversation thrown in there at times, and whenever you're in danger she'll defend you to your very last, though she does have a sharp sense of justice and would try to do the right thing and if talking it out is an option, she'd do that, but if it isn't, get ready to eat explosives for a meal.
Backstory and Lore (optional):
After the events of Star Allies Void split in half, one half continuing to wander the universe and the other sent to Popstar, said half being found by Kirby and his friends who were stargazing near the area, and that half was named Periwinkle, since she landed in a field of Periwinkle flowers. She was also injured on the right side of her face, but for some reason the injuries were cracks, no one had any idea on how to treat this kind of wound, so she ended up in the hospital. A few weeks after this she was allowed to leave the hospital, and currently lives in a small cabin near whispy woods.
Design notes:
Moves around just like any other puffball, can also fly with wings as well, wings work like Void Termina’s wings.
Fun facts:
Despite however old Void is, she has the mentality of a 12 year-old.
Periwinkle has immense regret for everything she did as a split half Void, even if it was before she split from Void, she'd apologize profusely to anyone Void had terrorized before they were sealed, since she has all of Void's memories alongside their abilities.
The small purple ring planet always seen floating near her times is just an illusion (more or less a 3D model and when touched, your hand just phases through) made from the near bottomless pool of magic Periwinkle has (makes sense for a split half of a god-like being after all) which is why it sometimes wouldn't appear, especially if her stamina is incredibly low.
Unlike Elfilis’ split,Void’s split was totally on purpose, one half to continue doing the thing they do best, while the other half was a “thank you” to Kirby and his friends for giving them a second chance at life.
Periwinkle is technically genderless but prefers using she/her as pronouns.
If she was to be described with food, she would be described as a chocolate lava cake with blue Hawaiian ice cream, or a refrigerated grape mochi (with blue food coloring) at times.
She would be the kind of person to read a book to herself until she falls asleep or do late night research on things that fascinate her.
When taking flight along with an individual who can't fly, if they're the size of a Waddle Dee or slightly bigger, they can sit in a basket she has, but if they're a lot bigger than a Waddle Dee, let's say she might have to take them by the body part available, which wouldn't be very comfortable, or if there’s any rope nearby, she’d let the person hitching a ride with her tie themselves to the rope and hang on really tight.
Her hobbies include: reading books, drawing, origami and indoor gardening to name a few.
After a gruelling six months, we're pleased to finally announce to you this year's winners of the 2024 Kirby OC Tournament!
We'll start with the results from the Second Chance Brackets. This event was hosted to allow those who were voted out within the first three rounds of the mainline tournament to participate for a little longer, and featured high-speed 3VS match-ups.
The grand final of the Second Chance Brackets pitted Noir Fontaine (of @desultory-novice), the long-suffering swordsman, against Rope MF (of @mint-termsandconditions), that one guy who really really likes ropes. Both contestants produced an incredible, ongoing series of finale propagandas bouncing off the strengths of both characters, combining both lore and comedy, comics, and even animations!
Their poll, ✦ THERE ARE NO STRINGS ON ME ✦ concluded with one singular vote of difference. This polled in favour of:

WINNER: Rope MF with 50.3% of votes!
Congratulations to Rope MF!! This was an incredibly tight race until the very end, with Noir claiming a lead for multiple updates right up until the last moment, with a surprise victory for Rope MF!
Moving on to the Mainline Tournament. After six months of intense 1 on 1 competition, our grand finalists emerged as Valfrey (of @gethoce), the butterfly samurai who created suns at the beginning of the universe, and starstruck dee (of @starflungwaddledee), a palmful of waddle dee who is definitely very normal.
Despite their differences of vibe, both characters are beloved by the community, within the tournament and out, and their creators have told consistent tales throughout the course of the event. Valfrey in particular has spent her time doing everyone a great service by handling one specific menace, a story that carried through into her propaganda until the very end, while starstruck found herself rather lost en route.
None the less, as we don't technically require contestants to be on the tournament grounds to compete, their poll ✦ FOR THE SUN ✦ ran as normal! The results are:

WINNER: starstruck dee with 54% of votes!
For this poll in particular, we have an additional graph to show the full week of movement!
Despite a slow start, starstruck dee pulled into a tie, and then into a lead that she maintained up until voting closed. Congratulations starstruck dee!! Propaganda and campaigning made an incredibly noticeable impact on this poll, with every post from each competitor and their supporters resulting in an instant uptick of attention for their character on the poll!
Congratulations to the winners, and also to their opponents. To be among the final four of a roster that was just shy of 150 characters is an incredible achievement!
Our final wrap-up for the tournament and this blog will be posted within the next week or so.

This tournament could not exist without your love of OCs, and we are thrilled to have been able to host you, your characters, and all the creativity and passion that has come with them!

Upon seeing the box of candy, Fal smiled widely and his excitement increased knowing that he was facing his next opponent. With a pleasant smile he received Cryst, and Fal's curiosity led him to talk more than needed
"Candies from Ripple Star, pon!? Does that mean you come from that planet, pon? Are you friends with Ribbon? Wait, you know her, or at least you two get along...? Pon! Apologies for the bunch of questions... Pon... Fal guess that even if you know Fal's name, introductions are still important! Fal is Fal and she is Snow White!"
Snow seemed thoughtful, but at the moment she was mentioned, she returned to reality and with a smile she swept her thoughts under the carpet

Cryst tilted her head slightly, thinking. He knew what he should say, what her majesty had been telling him ever since she landed on Ripple Star.
“I… think that… The Dark Matter that attacked my planet shouldn’t be given another chance. That 02 doesn’t deserve a chance. They say that it actually came back to life, for more destruction. Why would you ever trust someone like that. They’re the reason I hear Ribbon consoling the Queen at night. They’re the reason I have to train every day.”
And yet…
“But there’s some good ones, I think. maybe. A lot of the competitors here are Dark Matter, and they just want to have fun. And I’ve heard about Gooey, how harmless he is. I don’t really believe it, but I trust Ribbon. She knows about the attack better than I do. She helped stop it!”
She sighs, not sure of how she feels. But broke into a smile.
“I suppose it depends on the Dark Matter. Sure, I don’t trust most of them, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get another chance. Unless they’ve possessed someone. Or destroyed their planet. It’s— it’s all situational.”
“Why do you ask?”
