since they tied, the decision of klee vs kokomi went to my friends,, they decided klee! so once i finish layla, you can expect wanderer and klee to come soon
note: these are the characters that i have ideas for, so i had to make some sacrifices. i couldnt see a way to make nahida work for my project, so sadly i wont be including her right now. as for what the project is, stay tuned!

The fic is a bit old but I figured I would promote one of my old Layla works! It takes place during the Parade of Providence event and is meant to be a bit of an analysis of her character and the dynamic between her and Other Layla (name pending).

Layla and Other Layla is just such a funny dynamic. Like what if the coughing baby was also the hydrogen bomb.
to the genshin impact fanfic writers who include Layla in their fics, (first of all that alone is a blessing), but also include her DID as something that simply exists and not as a trope or joke... you have so much of my love. the inclusion of disability and mental illnesses in my own work as something that is framed as being casual, not in a dismissive sense, but rather as something that exists and isn't a negative trait - this is incredibly important to me. Layla being disabled due to her chronic fatigue, sleeping disorder, and non-specified dissociative disorder (probably OSDD 1a if we're being more specific), is something so tender to me somehow? obviously in-game it is not taken very seriously, nor do I trust hoyoverse to write disability well, but the part of the fandom that does love her and respects these aspects to her character and portrays said aspects with love and respect, well my love and respect for them is eternal.
Fabulous Fungi Frenzy was one of the best Genshin events in my opinion, not just because it was ridiculously fun and the story was good, but because it was legitimately hilarious to sandwich such a lighthearted event between absolutely devastating archon quests. Absolute insanity was happening, the government was falling apart, but no, you get to play Pokémon with a broke college student and a fox woman who runs a light novel shop. And every character has such wonderfully fun energy with one another that they felt like good friends in such a short period of time.
But I also HATE this event because they didn't let us keep Bongo Head. At least he had some cameos later on, Twirly Whirly stans (aka me) have been fed absolute scraps since then.
If the event comes back and it doesn't have Layla and Yae Miko as main characters again I am actually going to throw a fit. I need a full flagship event with them again, ideally also with Cyno and other Sumeru characters. Please, I am begging. And please, can it be voiced... I am sick of Hoyoverse not approving these voice contracts it's so annoying. I need my babies back.
Also it was obviously too early to fully reveal Other Layla in her debut, but I really want her to be a secret boss if the event comes back and I want her to be legitimately difficult to defeat. Five star Slayla skin when?
genshin sumeru arc would've been one act if they just gave sleepwalking layla a gun or something. her and twirly-whirly would've handled the fatui before the sun even came up.
If I’m doing my math correctly then there are only 6 men in sumeru I think? (Kaveh, Alhaitham, Cynosure, Tignari, Sethos, and wanderer) right? And there’s 8? Girls (Nilou, Layla, Nahida, Dori, Collei, Candace, Dehya, Faruzan) meaning despite have two more female characters then male only Nahida and Collei are popular, but all the guys are SUPER popular.
in conclusion, we need more girlie content for the ladies of sumeru that aren’t ship related or related to the guys. Please :)
